We had an excellent experience with The Plumbing Authority! Ray and Hector did a great job with a complete mainline replacement. They were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough! We also had a drain re-pipe done and Jake and John were fantastic! Audra was our contact in the office and she was very friendly and accommodating! They all went above and beyond and I highly recommend this company!

The Plumbing Authority provided excellent service and was able to quickly resolve our issue. They went above and beyond to work us into the schedule to get our problem fixed the exact day we needed it done. Austin was friendly and professional and did excellent work. I was appreciative that he was the one working on our issue.

Steven O. from Plumbing Authority was excellent to work with. He was timely, thorough, and clearly very knowledgeable. What I appreciated most was that he never felt pushy — he carefully explained what he observed, laid out several options, and then gave me the space to think and decide without pressure. He takes the time to explain issues in depth so you truly understand what’s going on, which brings a lot of peace of mind. Steven represents the company extremely well and made me feel confident I was dealing with an honest, trustworthy team. Highly recommend Plumbing Authority if you want professionalism, clarity, and respect throughout the process.

In December 2023 they came to my house to fix an immediate problem. The same problem happened now...10 mos later...sink water pipes disconnected and water flooded under the sink. Called this morning and they cannot send someone out until Monday for emergency call. Will not be using them again.

All I needed was one washer to be changed out in one side of my bathroom sink bc it was dripping a little bit. The young man that came in was wonderful. No complaints about him at all. But for a total of 6mins of work I was charged 190.00. Not even two washers. Just one. In the end I am really angry with myself bc I should have just refused service and found another company that was a little cheaper. But bc I was pressed for time and I live alone they made off with nearly 200 dollars. What I am saying bottom line is use good judgement and get several quotes.

My terrific experience with The Plumbing Authority began when Jake Newman came out to evaluate my 13-year-old Rinnai tankless water heater that had started having issues. I had already received a $700 repair estimate from another local plumbing company, along with an extremely high replacement quote, so I decided to get a couple more opinions. I specifically requested a quote for a Rinnai RE199in due to the similarities and lower labor costs for installation. Jake thoroughly evaluated my situation and was upfront, honest, and professional from the very beginning. I was equally transparent about what I was looking for, and Jake took the time to provide three different options while carefully explaining the pros and cons of each. I can confidently say Jake is not only an outstanding representative for The Plumbing Authority, but also an extremely knowledgeable and experienced plumber. After his excellent presentation and explanation, I ultimately chose a Navien 240A2 with a descaling unit and also signed up for their maintenance program because I knew this was a company I wanted to continue doing business with. Installation day is where Steve O entered the picture — and he was just as impressive. Like Jake, Steve was professional, prompt, personable, and highly knowledgeable. His workmanship was meticulous, and he clearly takes pride in doing things the right way. He walked me through the entire system, made sure everything met his standards as a true professional, and ensured I was completely satisfied before leaving. He even registered the unit for me. In closing, both Jake and Steve are OUTSTANDING plumbers and fantastic representatives of this wonderful family-owned and operated business. They are now my go-to plumbing company. I also greatly appreciated the Veterans discount they provided. The workmanship was exceptional, the customer service was top-notch from start to finish, and the pricing was fantastic for a top-of-the-line gas tankless water heater installation. Not only do I highly recommend The Plumbing Authority, but I already have my next project lined up with them to replace all of my toilets. Thank you to everyone at The Plumbing Authority for delivering an outstanding customer experience from the initial consultation all the way through the final installation. You have absolutely earned a customer for life.

Short version: overpriced, incorrect diagnosis, hidden fees, upselling techniques, lack of experience. Saved myself over $3,000 by doing it myself. Another plumber quoted less than half for the same job. I will NEVER use Plumbing Authority again. First, I guess they have a $50, or 100, or 200 something diagnostic fee, just for coming out and looking at the problem, even if you chose not to do work with them? That was never explicitly told to me over the phone when i scheduled the appointment. Fortunately, the man who came, Chase, waived the fee. The real problem is the estimate itself. He told me he would need to cut into my drywall behind the shower, install an access panel, and basically gut the entire shower piping to fix it. Quoted over $1600 for this. I had done some reasearch, and it was possibly just a bad cartridge in the shower. I asked about this. Chase told me "based on the age of the home (34 years) that there's not a cartridge in there. They didn't start doing that more widely until about 15 years ago". Again, looked it up and this is blatantly false. Second, he quoted me an entirely different job I didn't ask for, for a new shutoff valve and PRV. Verbally he said an additional $1600, but his paperwork only reflected about $900. He said the water pressure to my house is low... about 30 PSI. He checked this, of course, while the water was on and the shower had resumed leaking..... any professional plumber knows you have to have all water faucets off to get an accurate reading. I got a pressure gauge myself, and it was actually high (closer to 100).... I ended up turning down his offer, spent about 3 hours on Google and going to Lowes, and fixed it myself with *would you guess...* a CARTRIDGE. The cartridge I was told did not exist in my setup. This guy was not a plumber, he was a salesman. Be wary of the advice, quotes, and prices from these guys. Lacking serious experience.

So i had a major plumbing situation. Chase, the original guy that came out for the 2nd time, ran a camera down our pipes. He not only informed me, but showed me that our 50+ year old cast iron pipes had all collapsed in. He said he could fix the immediate problem but that he would most likely see me again shortly unless we bit the bullet and had our pipes replaced. He was right. A month later the same problem happened. Chase came back out and explained that they would have to cut through the garage slab down to the pipes, under the foundation, dig outside down through the landscape, under the sidewalk, through the front yard under part of the driveway and tie into the main sewer line out by the street. I called our insurance company and the day before the adjuster was coming out, they asked if I could get all the information ready for him before he got here. Nancy, the lady in the front office, is a superstar. It was 4:45 the day before and she was able to get me the contract, pictures and everything they had done to that point, and emailed everything over to me before the close of business. She really came through for me at the last minute. Nancy is the greatest. It was estimated that the job would take about 5 days and that we would be without water for that time. Cody, Shannon and Ray showed up 2 days later and went right to work. Cody started and found the pipes underground right away, Shannon is a work horse, he did a little bit of everything, Ray was very knowledgeable. They all took the time to answer all of my questions so that I could understand exactly what and why they were doing what they were doing. We actually were only out of water for 1 day and they got the entire job done. from start to clean Up, in 3 days. I give all 5 of them 5 stars and would highly recommend The Plumber Authority. Great job guys and gal.

I had this company out for what should have been a straightforward shower cartridge replacement, and the whole experience left a bad taste. To start, the plumber was friendly enough, but within minutes of arriving, he pivoted straight into trying to sell me a $5,000 water softener system. I don't know when every service call turns into a retail sales pitch, but it's exhausting. I declined and asked to stick to the actual issue. From there, things got worse. Before even inspecting the cartridge or looking behind the wall, he began suggesting a much more invasive (and expensive) solution involving cutting an access panel into my bedroom wall and potentially replacing surrounding plumbing. Again, this was all before any real attempt to diagnose the problem. When I pushed back and said I just wanted the cartridge replaced, I was quoted around $500. High, but fine. Then, after about 30 seconds of trying, he claimed the faucet "wouldn't come off" and immediately went back to pushing the wall-cutting option. I decided to hold off and take a look myself after he left. The faucet was stuck, sure--but with a Dremel, I had it off in under two minutes. A quick trip to Lowe's, about $150 in parts, and an hour of work later, everything is fixed. No leaks, no wall damage, no unnecessary upsell. End result: I saved somewhere between $350 and $1,000, depending on which route they were trying to steer me toward. I don't expect miracles, but I do expect an honest attempt to fix the actual problem before jumping to the most expensive option. This felt far more like a sales call than a service call. Would not use again.

I had TPA replace all the hot/cold incoming pipes in a our newly purchased older home from galvanized steel. Professional, courteous and very competent work and they went the extra mile by installing an extra tap at the front of the house. Also, very efficient work. Whole house was finished in less that 2 days. Edit: I went to update my review for this vendor for another reason and noticed that the number of stars indicated was incorrect and not reflective of the positive review that I gave in my original review. Now that that is fixed, I want to continue with the reason that I wanted to edit my review in the first place. I had a small problem when TPA was finished with the job. I could not find my Werner 6' ladder which was stored in the same area where TPA was working and it was the same brand of ladder they used. I assumed that the crew working here packed I up accidentally and contacted Brian about it. These guys looked not once, but twice for my ladder in their equipment at HQ with Brian even offering to buy me a brand new ladder when they could not find mine among their equipment. I declined the offer and have even done business with TPA again since this because they are good and have integrity. Anyway I was cleaning my basement the other day and found my ladder in the most unlikely of places. Crow. It's what's for dinner.

the guy seemed clueless, looked at my problem about 10 minutes, and stayed outside on the phone for about 20 minutes, and came back in, still seemed clueless as to what was wrong, still didnt know where the leak was coming from. i was asking him what part was bad, so i could determine if i wanted it to be replaced or fixed (my 2 options of having it fixed) and i didnt trust him at all. he acted like this was his first time on a plumbing job. I asked the owner if i could wait for him to fix it for me himself whenever he was out this way, but the owner turned sour, so i just paid the $39 for nothing being done. i feel ripped off. i had specifically asked the owner last week if whenever he was in the area, that i trusted him, and didnt want to call another plumber, but he sent someone else. i shouldve refused, but i didnt think he would have someone so unprofessional and clueless. the guy took it upon himself to use my ladder, and was standing on the top rung, where it specifically says do not stand, and was balancing his other foot where the paint can is supposed to go, it's PLASTIC!!!

They've sent several requests to post a review. Service was fine although it sure did take a long time just to start the work off unclogging our drain. Probably 30 min between arrival and starting the work. The actual plumber was friendly and very helpful, answering questions about other aspects of my plumbing. What I didn't like: 1) I thought the price was steep. Nearly 150 to unclog a sink drain with a high clog...ie not even in the P trap. 2) Spending time trying to sell me an annual service...which of course would have lowered my bill. I knew something was up when plumber told me he was going to present me with a couple options before telling me the price of the fix. It's a drain clog. Obviously there's a price - just tell it to me up front without having me wait on a sales pitch for annual maintenance. That could be handled by just leaving me the brochure. Could have told me on the phone as well when I called for the appt. and asked. So all in all, it was a fine experience. Plumber was professional and friendly. Didn't care for the business practice part of it however.

It was a wonderful experience using the Plumbing Authority! After finding that we had several leaks in our dated sewer system, we decided to go ahead and replace all of the water and sewer lines to update our home and prevent future problems and expenses. Mikhail who came to give us our estimate was wonderful! Compared to several other estimates I'd gotten, Mikhail was able to find a different, much more cost effective way to get the job done. He also came up with ways to do the work with much less disruption to our current walls and floors which would save us even more money. Josh who was the lead plumber in doing the job was awesome too. He was such a hard worker and actually seemed happy to attack any challenge that came up with confident experience and problem solving abilities. Ryan was also great in overseeing details and making sure we were completely satisfied. A great team and experience all the way around! Thank you!

We have a historic Oak Ridge Alphabet house and needed a full house repipe. Over the years there had been a lot of bandaids and partial fixed resulting in a hodgepodge of new and original pipes. The plumbing authority had the size to complete the whole job. We also had them install a tankless water heater and garbage disposal. Due to the scale and scope of the job we had the opportunity to work with about ten of the guys, all licensed plumbers. They did an excellent job getting this house in shape. All new water lines, drain lines, water heater, shower fixtures, toilet, etc. Every person was courteous, on time and nice to work with. Our job is now complete and I have the piece of mind that our new systems have warranties to keep them running smoothly should we encounter any problems. I'd recommend doing plumbing once and being done over tiny, bandaid fixes, which don't solve the issues.
