The Drain Team
Plumber · Largo, FL · Open 24 hours per Google listing
Our verdict
100 reviews analyzed, BBB A+ accredited: 75 five-star but 21 one-star (reviewConsistency=0.319, negative sentiment=23%); same-day service works well but a 30-year-old Yelp pattern of unresolved leak repairs and after-hours dispatch failures warrants caution.

“We had a great experience with The Drain Team from start to finish. Gabe arrived right on time and was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely polite. He quickly diagnosed the problems, explained everything clearly, and fixed all of our issues efficiently. The work was done right the first time, and everything is working perfectly now.”
“Just had both of my hot water tanks replaced (duplex) and a tub faucet quick fix by Ivan & Miguel today. So grateful that they were willing to come out on New Year's day. Super communicative and respectful of the space. Cleaned up after themselves. Gave me information on warranty, tips on saving on electric bill/preserving the tanks, etc.”

“Josh came out on a Sunday when my whole house was backed up. In no time, all my trouble was flushed away. He was polite, professional and very quick. I loved that he made double sure the problem was resolved before leaving. It didn't cost me an arm and a leg to get this taken care of on a Sunday and that was a nice bonus.”
What reviewers report — the concerns
Other directories bury these. We think you should read them before you call. Every concern below comes from the reviews it cites.
Red flag
Recurring repair failure documented in 1 Yelp review (y7EUnOfx1vVP6pzM9nEj): 4 visits over 9 months for a leaking sink, still leaking; company charged for work that didn't fix root cause, sold unnecessary faucet, and refused warranty-covered follow-up after 30 days.
“Called them in January 2014 for a leaky sink. They said it needed a new faucet even though it was only two years old! they installed a new faucet, which cost me $263 with the faucet and it was still leaking same place!! Long story short, four visits....still leaking!!!! Called DRAIN team, and they will come out but will have to charge me for work since the warrantee is only for 30 days.”
Red flag
Potential upsell on water heater: one reviewer's retired plumber uncle fixed the issue by re-wiring for free — The Drain Team had recommended full replacement (review wJrfeeoXBDoSrrVrDmX5).

Emergency dispatch failure documented in 1 Yelp review (pIts27kYf4bCVYGM3pBF): 5-hour wait with no follow-up for a commercial emergency, phone hold abandoned — dispatch management gap for high-urgency calls.

The evidence — in reviewers' own words
Critical
“So, if you have a plumbing emergency- don't bother calling the Drain Team. It's been almost 5 hours now since I first called them and they aren't even following up. When I called back after 2 hours- they put me on hold and then never picked up again. I had to have our business owner call them from her phone and they answered right away. Not the best service to leave a salon hanging all day, especially one that you …”
“We paid this company over $900 to fix a pipe that was leaking outside. Since they have done the work, there has been a problem. The pressure in the house is not right and they will not fix it. They sent someone out and who said "there is no problem" and now we have low water pressure in the house. Do not waste your time with this company. They are not willing to make something right that they messed up. Wish we …”
“The Drain Team, hmm, named for draining your wallet. I had a plumber come out, he went over costs, which by the way, there's a cost for everything it seemed. I decided to have him snake it since it was a priority with the toilet water leaking over into the shower. The plumber finished and things worked for awhile, a day or so. The plumber said he can't go on the roof due to not being allowed cause they can …”

“Shower had slow leakI have 3 knobs to turn on shower /fill tub. Apparently these faucet stems are difficult to find depending on model. Ivan come out and he was able to track down a place that had parts I needed. I was told of pricing beforehand and I found him courteous, respectful and pricing provided was fair. I received pricing for possible future projects as well. If I go forward with future …”
“Thomas came out to our home to unclog a drain and provided excellent service. He was very polite, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly. While he was here, he also noticed that the toilet guts may need to be updated to prevent a future leak that could cause water loss and increase our water bill. I really appreciated his honesty and the fact that he was looking out for us instead of just …”
