We are Teays Valley Service Experts advantage plan members and I truly can’t say enough good things about our experience—especially because of Ricky Johnson. For the past year, Ricky has been the technician coming out to service our system, and he has been absolutely amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, and he always takes the time to explain what he’s checking and why. You can tell he genuinely knows his trade and cares about making sure everything is running safely and efficiently. What really stands out, though, is how kind and professional he is. Having someone work inside your home can sometimes feel uncomfortable, but Ricky makes the whole experience easy. He’s respectful, patient, and never makes you feel rushed or like your questions are a bother. He truly makes you feel at ease. It’s rare to find someone who combines technical skill with such genuine customer service. We are so thankful for the consistent care and professionalism he brings every visit. Highly recommend Teays Valley Service Experts—and if you can request Ricky Johnson, do it!

I have three units , and was very pleased with the service yesterday. Theron was very knowledgeable, polite and did an amazing job. He answered all my questions and explained everything. Would definitely be asking for him next time .

When my heatpump quit working my unit was costing a lot of money to keep our house warm. The technician arrived after dark and at first said it was going to be a long repair according to the alarm message on the thermostat. He said less try resetting the breakers and it could solve the problem, sure enough the heatpump started back up and still working the next day. I'm pleased with his know-how.

I have been a customer of this company for almost 20 years, regularly servicing my old heating/ cooling system. Although my system (not installed by Service Experts) was functioning well, technicians from Service Experts kept nagging me to change it to a new system since it was more than 20 years old. I finally consented, and ended leasing a new system (SL280V, EL XC16). Last August, during a routine checkup by their technician, I was told that there is possible biological growth inside the heating system and they suggested installing a UV light that would increase my monthly payment by almost $80, to which I did not consent. A week later I discovered that the pump that they had installed to remove condensation was not operating properly, which is why I had the biological growth. When I alerted them to this issue, they came over, fixed the pump. When the technician realized that I was adamant about not paying for a UV light, he said that was thought to be biological growth was only salt deposits that were harmless. A few weeks ago, I discovered black mold growing out of one of the vents which I reported. Again a technician promptly paid me a visit, indicated that he was not allowed to characterize this as biological growth, and promised to follow up. It has been 3 weeks and all my phone calls to the company have gone either unanswered or ignored.

I have been reading the reviews by others and I see I am not alone. I have contacted the attorney general and better business about the issue. If I get no response from them I will go to a consumer protection lawyer. I too was told I had to have a new system when the old one could have been repaired and worked better. I have had problems with it since I brought it. I'm running on emergency heat since November after buying several parts, I am going bankrupt over this. I was also given the scare tactic about a uv light. This company needs to be put out of business. You cannot contact them you are turned over to a answering service, I tried texting, emailing, I'm told they will get back with me, They lied. I have also had problems with service people not showing up. I'm 74 years old and by myself and they are really taking advantage of me. I can't believe people can be so cold hearted. I don't even have a copy of the contact and they have violated the 3 day wait period. I would be ashamed to work there and be a part of this. I'm going to fight this, we do have rights.

I recently had my semi-annual service call and was told I needed a capacitator for the unit. I received an estimate and accepted for service call. The guy who came couldn't fix the capacitator because he doesn't work on gas units. Before he leaves, he says that he notices some mold in the system and shows me a picture of about 5 black spots on my unit. He said he's not a mold expert but tells me for $3900 I can buy a UV light that will take care of the mold and won't have to worry as long as I pay monthly for them to check UV lights and replace. I asked him to send me a detailed invoice for the light. He tells me that I shouldn't run my furnace until I get the UV light in. I didn't receive an estimate and called several times for someone to send this to me. I got an estimate that said UV light $2100. Big difference. I contacted Pride Heating & Cooling and Chris said he doesn't use UV lights and sent me information on what he does use with a price much, much less than TV quoted. Chris said I COULD use my furnace. Pride came out next day and said I didn't have mold anywhere and only thing I needed was a new filter. I had a filter on hand and Mike changed it for me. Chris' business saved me a lot of money. What is most upsetting is I have trusted TV H&C for years and makes me wonder how many people they use these scare tactics on they pay for something they never needed because they trust this company. The boy who told me I needed to pay this money was only 18 years old and maybe he is the only one who uses scare tactics to earn money, but I will not be using this company again. I hope that everyone who does gets a 2nd opinion before paying for repairs. Call Chris at Pride because they are honest and polite and, did I say HONEST?!

We have used Teays Valley Heating and Cooling since Rock Branch Mechanical went out of business and have found their services prompt and very satisfactory. We had a new HVAC unit installed within a year ago and another installed yesterday in another part of the house. After the installers left last night, we noticed that the unit they had just installed was working fine, but that the air conditioning in the other part of the house, which had been working perfectly, was not working at all. This morning, I called Teays Valley and reported the problem. The receptionist was very pleasant and after checking our records assured me that a repairman would be sent out today. They called in a few hours and said they were on their way. After inspecting the equipment, they told me that they were not the people who installed the units, but whomever did , had turned off the older unit. They said they could turn it back on, but they would have to charge for a service call because they were from a company called Ashworth, not Teays Valley. Since it was the weekend and we were sweltering, I told them to go ahead. When I called Teays Valley about sending someone else who was going to charge me for taking care of their mistake, the man I spoke to first said that they use other companies on weekends sometimes to help handle emergencies. When I asked him to reimburse me for the $241+ I had to pay, he refused and said I wasn't on their repair list! He said I must have called the wrong company. I had the service rep check my phone to see if I had mistakenly called the wrong number. I had not! Teays Valley's number was on my phone, but not Ashworth's. Very disappointed in Teays Valley's reaction. I guess they have my money for two units and don't care about service.

We have three adults living in our home. We all get up around the same time and shower. As I am the last to get moving, I found I usually had little to no hot water. My wife and I also have a deep massage tub in the master bath. Our previous electric tank heater could only fill it about halfway until it ran out of hot water. I spoke with Mark Holstein at Teays Valley about a solution while he visited my technician during a routine AC service. He recommended a tankless water heater. As we had natural gas at the house, he said not only would it solve my problems but a gas unit would be the most energy efficient way to heat water. When my wife and I finally decided to go for it, I contacted Mark via email. He gave me a solid quote and had the technicians out in less than a week. The technicians, Wayne and Randall, were great. Showed up on time, had everything they needed, installed the unit completely, removed my old electric unit, cleaned up. They were very friendly and polite. They did the entire install in one day. I couldn't be more pleased with their prompt and professional service. And! My wife and I love the unit. As long as we have water, we have hot water! Our massage tub is really starting to get a work out now. I highly recommend Teays Valley both their products and services.

I had a horrible experience scheduling an appointment with Teays Valley Heating/Cooling . I don't even know where to begin. The call center schedulers were very incompetent I was hung up on, put on forever hold and told they would get an on call service technician to come out that night. After probably two hours some one finally called only to question me about when I originally placed call asking if it was before 5pm. Then he preceded to say it would take him two hours to get there could he just come the next day I made him aware that it was extremely hot out and that my niece had a 9 year daughter but we would wait till next day. i explained that my niece worked 7am to 7pm so he would have to work around her schedule so we agreed on 5pm. He didn't show up and didn't call to say he would be late. I called him and he proceeded to be rude to me saying he had an Family emergency and family is his priority and I agree with that but after blowing me off the night before couldn't I have got a courtesy call from Teays Valley Heating Cooling to say their technician had an emergency but we will send somebody out immediately. I guess we were not a priority. Very bad customer service I will never use them again.

I am very displeased with Teays Valley Service Experts. My HVAC is only 2 years old installed by them and it has to be worked on every year. This year it went out before Thanksgiving and it’s still out after paying for a new transmitter and a control box, they said I now needed a new compressor and this unit is only 2 years old. Called another service provider and it was not the compressor and they got it up and running. When you have a problem the owner Anthony will not talk to you. When you call it goes to another country some place and no one will get back with you. I would no recommend them, they never come when they are suppose to and never give you an invoice or receipt. After 2 years I finally received my warranty but you will pay more for the part if it’s under warranty, that doesn’t even make sense. I have never dwelt with a business as bad as this one and I hope they go out of business.

Plumbers who had been to our home to repair a gas leak, had accidentally made a huge mistake with our furnace vents— reversing the exhaust and the intake. A representative from the gas company who job it was to inspect their work detected the serious mistake. It required turning off the furnace as it had been for a couple of days during the repairs being made. It was a cold day in early January. It was Friday afternoon when the out of town Teays Valley inspector came and concurred with the Gas Co.’s findings. Since it was early evening on a Friday I expected to have to wait without heat until Monday . However the TV inspector called the TV plumber and he was here almost immediately. He was able to complete the reversal in record and our heat was soon . restored . Thank you, Frank for assisting us so quickly for a problem that was not Teays Valley’s making. Ditty Lambert Markham

Teays Valley Heating and Air conditioning has fanatic technicians. Gary Boggs was the service technician that came out to my home. He was professional and timely. I was very grateful that he had the knowledge to repair our unit 10/10!!! He reviewed all the repairs that he did and gave a recommendation to change an upcoming service. This was very considerate so we do not have to schedule an additional appointment. My BIGGEST complaint would be the call center. This service has been out sourced and it’s very unfortunate. I understand that a lot of companies are doing this, however the call center is 2/10. It took multiple calls but the Teays Valley office called me personally and corrected the problem. I am very grateful for this with the up coming Easter holiday.

DO Not use this company they are pure crooks! would give them a zero if I could. I called to have our heat pump serviced told them how old our unit was that probably needed coolant. They came out and charged a $99 fee to come out and an additional $101.76 to tell me it could be numerous problems that they wouldn't be able to pinpoint but even if they fixed it due to new EPA guidelines they could not put coolant in it so I need a whole new system! They knew the age of system before they even came out they knew what they were doing a colleague after the fact told me they did exact same thing to him! I am outraged I don't know how people sleep at night ripping working people off like this! I am outraged at this company.

The service technician was on time and professional. Repair was done promptly, total time for repair was less than 30 minutes. A capacitor was bad and was replaced. I was taken aback when the total bill was $417 and change. Inquiring further after the service was performed I was told by 2 professionals, an electrical contractor and another AC service tech, the capacitor cost approximately $60. A reasonable charge might have been $200. Be sure and ask the correct questions when you call for service. Ethics is lost to many businesses today. Unfortunate but true..I live in Charleston by the way, they are in Hurricane.

I've used their services often, especially when my furnace wore out. Service was efficient, fast and courteous. New furnace is great. They also installed a humidifier which makes the interior environment stay in balance. Biannual service (required to keep up the warranty) and done last week, was up to their standards. I got a reminder message, then a call from the technician letting me know when he'd be here. (I'm bad with names, so, regrettably, forgot his. But, I can attest to his courteous and professional service! I'm glad to recommend this company and will call them should something else need their services.
