I Called Sunrise plumbing based off reviews. Happy I did. My outside faucet was leaking and had a tech, named Jeff, come out within two hours to fix. He was very polite and had it fixed in an hour. No problems since. I’m always terrified of calling plumbers bc they’re expensive but was very happy with what I paid with them. I will definitely be using them in the future!
Andrew was very helpful and professional. He came out for an estimate and gave me all the information I needed. Will be rescheduling and hoping he will be able to come back out. Thank you!
I can’t say enough good things about this plumber. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was repaired correctly. They walked me through what was wrong and gave honest recommendations without trying to upsell anything. I appreciate their professionalism and will absolutely call them again for future needs.
Overall, the installation was completed and I believe the plumber did a good job. However, the amount I was charged to install a toilet that was purchased before the company arrived was outrageous! I was charged $400+ to install a toilet. Then another $200 for parts. I am truly disappointed in Sunrise Plumbing in reference to the price I was charged. During Covid Sunrise Plumbing completed a repair and the plumber did a great job. It was because of him that I called the company again. This time when I called the company and asked for just an estimate of what I might have to pay, I was told that I would have to wait until the plumber could fully assess what needed to be done and I had the option to decline if the price was unreasonable. I was given the price and reluctantly agreed to the charges, not completely understanding just what exactly was being charged. After returning home that evening and seeing the part I was charged $200 for and the receipt was shocking. I could have purchased the parts myself for less than that if only I knew. Never will I ever.
Called this company to come out to check my electric water heater. Had stopped working with E10 code. Bought it from Lowe's 2 years ago, installed by Lowe's with 12 year warranty. Called the AO Smith toll free number. They said I could use a local company if I chose too. The company they recommended was closed for the holidays. I called this company. They told me he would be out this morning. Finally showed up at 12:20pm. He looked at it about 10 minutes worth and finally told us that the electronic board and the element was shot. It would cost over $900 for a new one. I paid $39.00 for them to check it out and tell me what was wrong with it. When i received the receipt through email it stated something totally different. The guy said he offered to replace the thermostat. LIE Didn't mention anything about the electronic board being shot either. I feel like two women got scammed. I actually felt like it was Friday and he didn't want to mess with it. Now my 82 year mother and her daughter (myself) have no hot water for the rest of the weekend. I feel like these people are crooks. I called and told them and the girl told us she would contact the guy that came out and the manager. Absolutely sad sad sad. DONT USE THEM!!!!
This is my very first time writing a Yelp review and the very first time I have ever felt the need to file a complaint with the BBB. So for me to take the time to write this says a lot. Please read my comments so that you can decide if you want to use Sunrise Plumbing. Sunrise Plumbing was sent out from my home warranty service to fix a plumbing issue. After the issue was fixed, I asked the plumber Andrew if he could help us get immediate hot water to the shower in our master bathroom. He said sure, you just need a circulating pump. If you want me to install one I can do it right now and will cost you $850. To me this was extremely expensive already! However, I agreed and he installed it in about an hour. The pump he installed never worked. We no longer received cold water and the hot water was burning everyone's hands. I called Andrew back and he explained that it was probably a faulty part and he needed to install a new one. He did, and it worked better although it still took some time to get hot water and the cold water still wasn't very cold. Over the next few days we started to hear loud banging on our pipes like they were going to explode. I called Andrew to explain that something is wrong and to come out right away. He came out a few days later to say that in some houses circulating pumps do not work (it would have nice to have been told this up-front) and that I would need to pay an additional $925 to install a PCV valve and that SHOULD take care of the problem - but no guarantees. The only other option Andrew gave me (per the owner) was for a $350 refund of our $850 that we already paid and he would take the circulating pump back out. Well, as you can imagine, not many people can afford to pay almost $2,000 for a circulating pump and then it might not even work! I was not happy to get stuck with paying $500 for nothing either. I called the Sunrise office to speak to the owner/manager for three days in a row to discuss the refund amount (to an amount that I felt would be more fair and equitable) and was never called back. How many people want to be out of pocket $500 for no fault of their own? I assume that a plumbing company knows what it is doing and will tell me up-front that there could be reasons why the circulating pump might not work in advance so that I can make an informed decision. I finally told the woman at the office (who said, I don't know why the owner won't call you back, he has been very busy) - to go ahead and refund $350 back as it was better than nothing. I filed a complaint with the BBB and low and behold the owner of the company finally responded! He had no explanation of why he couldn't call me back three days in a row and said that he felt he was very generous in refunding back $350 of my $850. He stated that he lost money on the whole deal and that it was unfortunate for his business but sometimes these things happen. I told him that I was upset (I am the customer) that I had to pay $500 with nothing to show for it! He said, well I am sorry but we lost money too as we had to go to your house 4 times and that he didn't have to refund any of my money back. I hope that everyone can make their own informed decision before using this company. You can also go to the BBB website under Sunrise Plumbing and read the owners response to my complaint.
At first we thought we hired the right company. We learned what real service is, and realized Sunrise Plumbing can't meet the standard. We had a leak in one of the water lines under the foundation. They came out and punched three holes and charged us for each additional hole after the first one in the foundation. Once they found the leak it was repaired. When the job was completed we thought all was well. We did file a claim with our insurance company due to all the water damage. Come to find out our insurance company wanted to file a lawsuit against Sunrise Plumbing. The owner contacted us to let us know what was going on with our insurance company, as we had no idea. After being made aware of this we wrote a letter to our insurance company letting them know Sunrise Plumbing did not cause any of the damage. We thought this settled the matter, but what we learned when we had another leak and tried to call Sunrise Plumbing we were on a Do Not Service list. After several attempts to call the owner to understand why, he would not return our calls. I guess when you file a claim you better not use Sunrise Plumbing, even though we sent letters to the insurance company to help Sunrise Plumbing out. They really do not believe in great customer service, or they would have returned a call to let us know why we were on a DO Not Service List We soon found out this was the best thing Sunrise did for us. We utilized the services of Baker Brothers which was half the cost for a water leak under the foundation. This was a different location and the technicians treated our home like it was theirs. Baker Brothers stated if they did not punch the hole in the right place the first time there would not be any additional cost for extra holes. They didn't just fill the hole with the old rock and dirt removed, they bought bags of sand and filled the hole first before putting the cement down, (Cannot say the same for Sunrise Plumbing) which Baker Brothers stated this would be better against the copper tubing. Sunrise didn't do this in any of the three holes they punched. Bottom line we found out what excellent service is with Baker Brothers. I would not recommend Sunrise Plumbing to anyone.
My experience? Absolutely shady! And ZERO stars (which I wish Yelp gave that option). I understand we are just coming out of a serious storm, and many people are experiencing water intrusion issues due to the freezing temperatures, but is that a reason to mark up their services to the point of disbelief?? This is called price gouging! I had an exterior leaking pipe sticking up from the ground and no water to the house. it was a matter of cutting the pipe, adding a coupling, installing 12 inches of pipe, and turning the water back on. I should have taken the $200 appointment charge just for coming out as a red flag. I timed the repairman upon arrival. 30 minutes! It took 30 minutes for the repair and he charged me $1200 on top of the $200. $1400 for a simple repair that should have cost less than $200. . But wait ... the story doesn't end there. The repairman then heads over to my rental property where the pipe burst flooding the interior of the house. Again, water turned off - so in a bind. He charged me $1250 this go-round ... for another quick job. He turned the water on and discovered there were two small additional leaks under the house in the accessible crawl space. Quote - $4750! When I stated how I felt this was astronomical and may possibly be considered price gouging, they promptly packed up, left the water off as we still have issues, and left the job because I was now a liability per Mitchell, supposedly the owner. Per Devon, the repairman, they needed to now protect themselves. So that was my day. $2650 literally down the drain, for projects that should have cost me about $400 tops. This was all during normal business hours. I've reported them to the Attorney General's office and will be taking legal action for price gouging - an illegal act. Please be careful when dealing with the company. It is a shame that when so many of us are all experiencing loss throughout this storm of a century and a pandemic, this company's standard of practice is to take advantage of people. Shameful!
I am writing this review not because they did bad work. This is the second time I have used them. I am writing it because I feel like I was just taken. One of the shower cartridges in our shower water valve was damaged and I purchased a new valve assembly. I realized it was not a repair I could perform myself so I called Sunrise and they got someone out the next day. When the tech inspected the valve he said the cartridge could be replaced and if he did not have in his van, it would be available in their warehouse. He gave me the estimate which I could swear was roughly $80 for the part and $211 for the labor. The reason I remember it was I was wondering if I could use a $50 coupon for any repair over $299. The repair was completed in about 2 hours and that included the time for him to run to the warehouse to pick up the cartridge. Then he came to collect for the work and the invoice was about $535. I protested saying the quote he showed me was $211 and he essentially told me that is not what I saw. Yet, he could not go back and let me see what he showed me. He just kept telling me I did not see what I saw which is utter BS because if I knew the repair was over $500, I would never have signed to have the work completed. I can replace a cartridge myself but I was willing to pay a couple hundred dollars for the convenience because of my busy schedule. Another issue I have with Sunrise is that they charge $39 to show up which I completely understand a trip charge but when I inquired if it would applied to the cost of the repair they told me no. While I have no issue with the work which was performed, I will not be using them again and I would urge anyone using them to be very careful.
After scheduling an appointment to help with my fireplace, the office notified me they cannot help. The receptionist I spoke to talked in circles. After using my fireplace for a full 24 hours due to no electricity and low temps, I noticed a small gap in my firebox and could see a flame behind the firebox. I turned everything off and the flame went away. But now I'm hesitant to use the fireplace till someone can look at it. First she told me I needed to call Atmos to turn off the gas. I had already called Atmos and they said if it were a gas leak then we'd be able to smell gas, which we don't. It's also not a loss of pressure because none of our other gas devices (stove, hot water heater) have had issues. And therefore they can't help us, call a plumber. Then she said the plumber cannot fix any gas lines behind the firebox, that I needed to call a fireplace repair store. Then when I told her I already spoke to them and they instructed me to call a plumber she told me that if there was a fire behind the firebox that I needed to call the fire department and they would take care of everything. I explained the fire isn't there anymore and I'm doubtful the fire department will fix my fireplace. She kept telling me that it was unsafe for her tech to come out if there's a gas leak and I had to have Atmos turn off the gas, but none of that matters because her tech won't look at gas lines behind the firebox. And round and round we went. It's my opinion that the person I spoke to is not a professional plumber and didn't understand my issue and assumed her tech would not be able to assist. Either way, it's too unsafe for her tech to come out, but I'm screwed.
I joined their "Loyal Customer Program" 2 weeks ago. This morning they called and asked if today we were available for our home inspection. Within 45 minutes Layne was at my door. Introduced himself and proceeded to put on his shoe covers. So far in the process they have done at least 5 things right - called for appointment - texted me when Layne was on the way - showed up on time - politely introduced himself - protected my floors by putting on the shoe covers. Layne explained to me exactly what he was going to do then asked for a tour of my home so that he could locate all plumbing areas of my home. When Layne was through he showed me 2 things that might need attending but were not critical. I opted to wait a while before doing these, strictly my choice and no pressure to buy these 2 services. Pleased to know what areas to really watch and be aware of until I decide to do them. The Loyal Customer Program is great, it offers so many advantages. I know their work from previous visits and I knew that joining the program was going to be to my advantage. But even if I didn't belong to the Loyal Customer Program I would use them - they are professional, do the job correctly, courteous and considerate of my home and the best at communicating as to appointment time, arrival time and explanation of work to be done. Really the best!
If I could give negative stars, I would!!! My 70 year old mother had a water leak. Sunrise Plumbing came out after 5pm on a Friday. Had to replace a 2' section of pipe where adhesive had failed and only had to dig a 3'X3'X6" area to fix it. It's not a sewer pipe. Just pvc. Neither my mother or myself know much about plumbing costs. The bill was a little over $1900! The one guy, Andrew, was there about 2 and a half hours. My mother is on a fixed income and I didn't have that kind of money either. She had to pull money from a very meager IRA to pay for it. When I called the company that Monday morning, I asked for an itemized bill so I knew exactly what they charged for $1900! The receptionist said they don't give itemized bills but would have the manager call me to discuss. That was 8:30am. By 1:30pm, no one called me so I called back and got the same lady. She said she couldn't remember our conversation from earlier that morning but took my number and put me into the manager's voicemail. I left a detailed message and 4 days later, I still haven't received a call back with an explanation. THESE PEOPLE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF A 70 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO ONLY GETS 1202.00 PER MONTH FROM SOCIAL SECURITY! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!
The technician was on time and we went through what we needed. Two small elbow fitting replacements (one on a sink and the other on a toilet) and a gasket or washer on very small drip leak on a tub when cold water is turned on. It only leaked for a few seconds and stopped. We specifically stated that if the tub cannot be fixed with a washer or gasket, we did not want the entire stem and fittings replaced for $350. That is because we were going to rehab the entire bathroom over the summer and it would be a waste of money. The job was quoted at $240 for the two elbow fittings (plus dispatch fee) and $75 for the washer on the tub. After departing to take care of other business, when I returned I found out the technician charged us $600, because he replaced the stems in the tub anyway. I spoke to him and asked why he replaced something that I specifically said not to replace and he said he couldn't find the other part. Here's the problem with that: (1) I said DO NOT replace it, (2) you should get my permission to replace any parts, (3) if you couldn't find the washer needed, you tell me and leave it alone unless I give you permission to do something else. I am really pissed and I do not recommend this company
I called Sunrise plumbing after realizing that our foundation repair company had referred us to a plumbing repair company that had 1.4 stars and multiple complaints from previous recent customers and after we had already paid that plumbing company $600 to do a diagnostic camera test after our post foundation repair sewer test failed. I called Sunrise Plumbing for a second opinion and they sent out Andrew Avalos. I was so angry at already paying $600 for a diagnosis from a company there was no way I would use to do the repair work. Andrew’s demeanor was so calming and he was clearly very knowledgeable. He completed preliminary testing to confirm and isolate the location of the leaks for a very reasonable price and showed me everything he was doing and why. Andrew confirmed the leaks and performed the diagnostic testing. Then the crazy work started-jackhammering up our floor and digging down 10 feet and tunneling to the leaks-turn out there were two. Dirt was everywhere. But now everything is fixed and cleaned up. We were treated very well by all the contractors and are grateful to Andrew for being so patient and meticulous and for taking such good care of us!
Sunrise plumbing was the only company that was able to make it out the night water was coming up from our floors. The two plumbers that came out were nice (not as experienced as most plumber though). However these are the ONLY good things I have to say about this company. The company was an absolute nightmare after this initial visit. They bid us for a job that was x9.. yes x9 OVER what it actually took to fix our plumbing problem. They literally tried to sell us the most expense most invasive option possible. Then we spent the next 5 or so days trying to get our money back and we're talking thousands of dollars. In my opinion this should have been the FIRST call back made the next day. We were beyond pissed and frustrated that they would even accept the money in the first place for a job that the didn't even start or complete! After finally getting a hold of someone to return our money they then proceeded to charge us a refund fee over 2% of the invoice. This company is SHADY. Please please please save yourself the headache and hassle do not use them. If I could write multiple zero star reviews I would.
