Mike was prompt, professional, and very helpful during a stressful situation. We had a ruptured service line that required emergency attention, and he made himself available quickly. He also took the time to meet with the city alongside us, which we truly appreciated. His communication was clear and he demonstrated strong knowledge of the process and requirements. I would confidently recommend Mike to anyone looking to swap out lead service lines for copper.
Mike, Maro, and Alex are AMAZING!!I can't praise these guys enough! Great customer service ad great work for a reasonable price. New catch basin, new sump pump, fixed existing wall whole and re-hung outside post to the way it should have been originally! As a bonus, they empty a big waste can of my stuff! These guys did a lot of work all in one day. Thank you guys!
From the time our 8 unit condo building was opened in 2016, until 2023, we had zero problems with plumbing. In late January 2023, after we had just gotten home from a trip to Tupelo, our main floor (we have a “duplex down”) kitchen sink water began rising on its own from drain water from upper floor units. My wife and I were like an old-time bucket brigade, running gallons from the sink to the powder room toilet to keep the water from cascading over our cabinets and onto the floor. We had a plumber come out and run a rod from under our kitchen sink into the main drain pipe, which started a drain flow of water again. This problem unfortunately returned in October 2023 (when we were just about to leave for vacation), as well as July and September 2024, July 2025 and most recently on November 3rd. Despite previously using two different large plumbing companies, none of them could locate where our building’s main 4” drain pipe was located (using metal detectors and cameras). So effectively each time they rodded from our kitchen, they were punching a small hole into the grease blockage, with the hole slowly closing back up. So we hired Suburban Chicago Plumbing Experts this time. They not only identified the problem, but also identified where our main drain pipes were located, and then went on to create new external clean-out pipes for our building so that now any future blockages can be gotten to easily. Suburban spent three hours using unique hydrojetting equipment which has a truck-based water heater furnace to melt away all of the grease which was clogging our line. And unlike most other plumbing companies, they also have their own vacuum truck, and sucked all the grease out of our front yard’s underground catch basin. I can’t recommend enough their expertise, their specialized equipment, and their attractive pricing. A terrific combination and value.
Got their name from Home Advisor. But their charges are outrageous. Poor quality of service. Used parts looks old. Will not recommend to anyone and will never use their services.
Made an appointment for them to come between 10-12. At 11:30 I called to see where they were. Said the plumber was stuck at another job and they would call when he was free. At 1:45 had not heard a peep from them. When I called she said, ..oh yea, he is still at the job. We will call when he is free.' I guess they think we can all sit around and wait for hours? I would not put this is the great serves category.
I do not recommend Chicago Plumbing Experts. I just bought a house with my fiancé and there was a horrible smell coming from the basement. The inspector advised us as to what the issue could be and we asked Chicago Plumbing Experts to provide a quote to fix the issue. Will diagnosed the issue as being a busted P trap. He provided a quote for $3,879 to break up the concrete around the P trap, install a new P trap, hydro-jet the drain and sewer system, and "re-concrete kitchen drain/vent line assuming line is fine." As new home owners, we thought this was a fair price and we agreed to the price and the invoice, and two guys (I can't remember their names) came out to address the issue. They were 1.5 to 2 hours late and when they arrived they were unfamiliar with what services they were to be providing. We actually had to show them our copy of the invoice so they could familiarize themselves with the job they were supposed to be completing. After about an hour, they notified us that they needed to go buy some supplies. This seemed normal, but they were gone for three hours. When they returned they told us they had to go all the way to Brookfield (from Chicago) to retrieve the hydro-jet, which was supposed to have been brought with them to begin with, according to the services listed on the invoice. Now the kitchen drain. I will accept fault for accepting the wording of the invoice. We knew the kitchen drain was NOT fine, and I assumed they would fix it once they removed the concrete and confirmed that it wasn't fine. They did not fix the kitchen drain. They removed the concrete, confirmed what the inspector had already told us, and used a towel (provided by us) to fill the gapping hole around the corroded pipe. They told us they could re-concrete the drain, but it would need to be serviced in the same way as the P trap (meaning it was going to cost us another $4K to properly fix the issue because they needed to break up the concrete, install a new pipe, and re-concrete the kitchen drain). In addition to this, they decided to hydro-jet the drain and sewer system by using the stack in the basement. They broke the cap on the stack and did not have a replacement in their truck. They told my fiancé what he needed to buy and told him where to buy it. They were about to explain how to install it, but he told them he wanted to go buy the replacement cap and have them install it before they left. They told him the cap needed to be 4 inches so that's what he bought. It turned out the cap needed to be 3.75 inches so the cap my fiancé bought didn't fit. They instead filled the hole with plastic bags and said they would come back to fix it, for an additional charge. They didn't even end up using the stack to hydro-jet the drain and sewer system...they used the catch basin in the backyard. Breaking the cap on the stack was entirely preventable. We called to complain to Will after they left two holes in our basement and he told us they would be back on Monday to put a cap on the stack and to re-concrete the kitchen drain, as discussed. They did return on Monday, but they were there for less than ten minutes to put a cap on the stack and then they left. Although they were there twice, they did not clean up their mess and I had to dispose of the extra rags and their water bottles. They did correct the issue with the P trap, but it was NOT worth it. The service was very unprofessional and overpriced. Advice for new homeowners: assume NOTHING and get EVERYTHING in writing, whether you hire Chicago Plumbing Experts or someone else. Save yourself the expense and the headache.
They replaced our 70 year old clay pipes than ran from under our 4 ft crawlspace all the way out through the front yard and out to the town sewer system. About 50 feet. We had torn out old shrubs 10 years ago, but the roots still kept growing. After the yearly routing of the roots growing between clay pipes over the years, the pipes finally caved in and no router equipment could clear the debris. These guys came out and saved the day. Over 2 weeks, Steve and his crew dug an 8 ft deep trench starting in the tight crawlspace and replaced everything with modern piping. The town inspector required a copy of our property plat survey, which we had handy, so the permits came fast as well. Afterward, other than the mounded soil which will flatten out, these guys cleaned up so well, and replaced our crawlspace Permaseal coverage which had to be cut, you can hardly tell they were there. Cost was market, 30-40k.
We had a major plumbing issue in the basement of one of the properties we managed. There was a backed up sewage line and left easily a foot of waste on the floor that needed to be disposed of and sanitized. One plumber told us we had to find someone to clean it up (which was odd to me because that seems like a hazard of the job) and then we called a second plumber and he could not get past a few feet with his scope. Mike and his team was able to clear the line all the way to the street and cleaned and sanitized it in a few hours. It has held great for a few months but we need a more permanent solution that the landlord cannot afford at this time but we will be using Mike and his team to help us when the time comes.
I've had a slow draining bathtub for years that finally got to the point of having a half filled bathtub after showering. Donny was my tech that came out (can't remember his assistants name unfortunately) but in less than 2 hours had my pipes snaked & tub is now draining great! He advised me that at some point I'll probably have to change the original larger pipes below that the tub leads to as they are 76 years old which isn't cheap but for now I'm good. Also the girl that I spoke with to set up the appointment was very nice & very accommodating for the scheduling of the appointment. The pricing was fair and I couldn't be any happier with Suburban plumbing
Donnie spent 3 days on my house with several issues involved : fixing main sewer line, digging 25 feet, sinks, and toilets. He is proficient, knowledgeble, patient, fair, kind, and professional. He explained everything thoroughly and double-checked every imaginable problem and solution to fix my issues. I also want to thank his right hand man Alex who without complaint worked non stop and even scrubbed and cleaned my sink when he was done! I am truly grateful and blessed that there are still honest and hard working, decent people in this world who do not mind getting dirty and helping others so graciously. GOD BLESS YOU...thank you!
Mike and Matt are amazing! We were having issues with water backing up into our home. This has been an ongoing issue for years. Previous plumbers have not been able to figure out why this has been happening. Matt came out first and performed a camera inspection. Upon further investigation, Mike was able to locate a possible issue with our septic field. Our septic tank has required draining every 1.5 to 2 years, and issue could be contributing to it. Mike and Matt were easy to get a hold of and provided excellent service when we needed it most. I highly recommend and will be referring Suburban Plumbing Experts whenever I can.
After severe rainfall it was noted that there was something kind of sewer line repair that was needed in the Chicagoland area. It was noted that this had caused us to have problems in our basement leading to flooding. We were able to get that all cleaned up and they were very respectful and took care as handling items in the basement. They were able to check the sump pump and make sure everything was flowing properly. They were able to fix any issues and clean out the sump pump and check the backup battery as well. I was really happy with the staff and it was all done in a reasonable price and manner.
Mike/Teddy cleaned out the house sewer lines today! In less than 2 hours, taking out big tree roots on the inside. they also vacuumed the grease basin taking out years of buildup that made the back of the house stink! completely and professionally. good quality work at reasonable cost. not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive. what i appreciated most was they had a friendly conversational personality. they took the time to explain things when I had questions and walked me through their process. that's what separates good service from Great Service.
I found Suburban Plumbing to be of great value. The plumbers did a great job. They know their craft and are very thorough. So much so, that I have used them twice. The first was for a bathroom leak detection and then plumbing repair at my 88 year old mom's house. And then for a toilet repair at my own home. Each time, Suburban Plumbing did an excellent job. They were professional, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and were willing to answer any questions I may have had. I will use this company again for any plumbing issues that I may have!
So last week I stayed with my grandmother in Chicago. During my first night stay, I noticed she had towels and bowls managing leaks in the basement. She claimed that plumbers were just too expensive and they rarely fix the problem. I asked if she would let me try to find someone and she agreed. Not only did the Chicago Plumbing Experts work with my grandmothers financial situations, but they also updated her plumbing system to avoid further leaks. We are eternally grateful for using the Chicago Plumbing Experts!
