Stellar Plumbing, Drains and Water Heaters

Great experience with this plumbing company. They replaced our ejector pump and basin and did a very clean and professional job. The team covered the carpets and walkways, completed the installation properly, and cleaned the area after finishing the work. Very happy with the service and would recommend them.

I had Stellar out to give me a bid on a backup for our sump pump as well as a few other plumbing jobs. They were very courteous, professional and knowledgable. We are not planning to move forward with any projects at this time but I could tell that they were a very good company and would do a good job. I would recommend them.

Having to replace a water heater is never fun. From the start, this company communicated effectively and sent out a tech to inspect the issue. Gus, was very detail oriented and I appreciated that he explained things thoroughly. While their quote was not the cheapest, I felt confident that they would do the work right and they have a great warranty too! Day of installation, again, communication from the entire team was fantastic and everything went smoothly. Gus did an amazing job and I would highly recommend this company for any plumbing issues. I will definitely use them if a plumbing need arises. You get what you pay for, and this case it was excellent customer service and a smooth process to get a new water heater installed properly.

They tried to say I had a broken sewer and wanted to dig up my yard and charge me $18500 for a full sewer line replacement. I have a warrenty for the sewer and water line I'd gotten through the village of Streamwood so I contacted them and they sent out another plumber (Center Gaurd Plumbing) to inspect the line. They cleared the blockage and revealed that Stellar didn't even map out the sewer line properly. When I brought these finding to Stellar they said that the plumber that came after didn't do a good job and that stellars efforts initially made it easier for the next guy to completely clear the line. Lol. So by that logic if their guy just stayed working at the clog he made (cause it wasn't backing up befor he meddle with it) they would have been able to clear it. I assume they gave up becuase they saw a way to make an easy $9k-18500. And I say that because the whole time this is happening Carlos was trying to sell me financing not realizing my warrenty would cover the cost of any and all repairs. Just really disappointing as the work they did was pricey but still adequate, I didn't mind paying extra if the job is done right but I do cross a line when you try to pull one over on me. Stellars guy didn't even map my sewer line out correctly if I had needed to use them they would have been poking holes in my yard like a geek squad installer trying to mount a TV on my wall. I thought this was a professional outfit but they couldn't even honor a partial refund when I called them out on them not finishing the job. At the end of the day it's just money I can make more but man I'd hate to have someone else pull a loan on something they don't need to.

Stellar Plumbing and Ken Saved Our Dream Home! I had a serious plumbing emergency at my brand-new house—the dream home I was so excited about. Due to a high water table, the basement's sump pump setup, which was originally installed by a realtor that thinks he is a contractor (isn't good at either occupation), was running constantly (every 3.5 minutes!), destined to burn out and cause a major flood. I was incredibly nervous that I had bought a house that would constantly flood. Fortunately, I know the owner of Stellar Plumbing, and they immediately sent out Ken. Ken has 16 years of experience in plumbing and even more in the trades, and his expertise was immediately apparent. He not only quickly assessed the faulty setup but also took the time to calm me down and walk me through the comprehensive solution. This was a mini-construction project involving a deeper pit and a dual-pump solution with completely redone piping. While it was a significant investment, Ken assured me that his experience with similar projects meant this was the permanent fix I needed. The results are astounding: our new system is robust, reliable, and the pumps now alternate, running only about every 15 minutes. I feel 100% more confident that my home is protected and has the right system in place. If you have any serious plumbing concerns, especially with water management, I can't recommend Ken and Stellar Plumbing highly enough. They are true professionals who deliver lasting peace of mind!

I have used SP Plumbing on multiple occasions. Recently my water heater broke and I called to have it inspected and likely replaced. I called in the morning. By the time I got home from work SP Plumbing had analyzed the situation and discussed options with me, sourced a new water heater replacing the same model, had transported it to the house, lugged it in the basement, did the replacement, gotten rid of the broken unit, cleaned up and had it running. They were just walking out the door from completing the job as I was walking in the house. My wife was thrilled as they were neat and clean as well - and I got to keep the box it came in as a great toy for my grandkids to play in. I have also used SP for pipe/leak repairs, a shower steamer repair and a sump pump replacement. I contacted Stellar plumbing because I was having trouble with my shower head that was spraying all over the bathroom, including the floor. Carlos, came to the rescue and solved my problem, also discovering the strip under the shower door was cracked and needed to be replaced. Also the bathroom toilet turns on, for no reason and continues for about 10 seconds. It doesn't happen every day. Carlos checked the flapper and said it was not the problem. He put food coloring in the tank and there- fore, the color did not spill into the toilet bowl. Just a big mystery. Plus Steve, from Stellar, called me with a contact to obtain the strip for under the shower door. I am always pleased with Stellar Plumbing's services, pricing and would like to give 20 yellow stars to Carlos, Stellar's employee!!

Stellar plumbing did fantastic work installing a water heater and recommending a quality recirculation pump that reserves hot water to use immediately. No more waiting for hot water. Steve p was an excellent technician and gave me solid recommendations with no added sales tactics and reasonable pricing. Steve was extremely responsive and offered no nonsense alternatives when dealing with some remaining kitchen faucet pressure issues after water heater was installed. Our main plumber Carlos who installed everything was personable and experienced. He assessed some minor hiccups with our bathroom fixtures and made repairs next day. (Sediment build up) Highly recommend this company. Highlights: responsiveness, knowledgeable techs, cleanliness, professional, respectful of time.

Update – April 2025: Gus helped us with two (one major) plumbing jobs this week, and once again, we couldn’t be more impressed. His expertise is top-notch, but what really stands out is how clearly and patiently he explains how everything works together. He made a potentially stressful situation smooth and easy to understand. Gus is not only a true professional but also a delight to work with. I can’t recommend Stellar Plumbing highly enough! Stellar Plumbing is absolutely awesome! Our technician, Mike (who has helped us on 2 occasions) is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled and friendly. Everyone I’ve had contact with at Stellar has been amazing. We will definitely call them first for any future plumbing needs.

Highly experienced, timely, responsive and fairly priced family-run practice that caters to your emergency, including coordinating with townships to ensure quick permitting. We had an emergency pipe clog under our 1975 home that threatened to flood our newly renovated basement. Stellar responded quickly sending an entire crew and backhoe to dig a 10’ hole in our yard, jet our pipes in both directions, then backfill and compact, all within days, saving our renovation. We had a leak in our crawl space. Called Stellar Plumbing and they sent "Gus" out to fix it. He arrived at our home in a timely manner and he was greeted by our dog who just loved him. It turned out to be a big job but Gus took it in stride, explaining everything he was doing. He also installed a much needed new sump pump. We have had work done by this company before. A new water heater, new valve for outdoor hose, leak under sink, and faucet replacement. We were very satisfied with each project which is why if we have any plumbing issues we call Stellar Plumbing.

Gus was awesome, greeted me kindly as he approached the house, listened to my concerns regarding the problem, and offered solution options I thought were reasonable. Performed the work and gained my approval prior to wrap up. Overall, very respective of my time, my household, very professional - highly recommend. Also, a shoutout to Carry who scheduled the service call with me on a Sunday. Very polite and answered all my questions as to what to expect. I had Carlos at my house twice in 10 days. The first time was for what I thought was a leaking water heater. He checked the entire heater and he was able to determine the issue. He was very thorough in his search for the leak. The second time was to replace my kitchen faucet. He removed the old faucet quickly and installed the new one all while being very nice and personable. When he was done he took extra effort to clean the area. The faucet works great & I'm very happy. Great job by Carlos and Stellar Plumbing once again.

I had no hot water this morning and had a similar issue on Sunday. I called Richmond/Rhene to troubleshoot the error code and Peggy said I needed the flame rod cleaned with steel wool. I called Stellar to help with the service, since i had no idea how to do this part. I received a text message stating the tech's name and ETA. The tech, Mike, arrived within the time stated, and cleaned the burner and flame rod. The flame finally stayed on and i should have hot water within the hour. Thank you Mike and Stellar Plumbing!
