Stellar Plumbing was referred to me by my neighbors snd Duayne was FANTASTIC ! My wster heater went out and he came out within 39 minutes and had s new one installed the next morning on a Saturday ! His price was so reasonable and $36000 LESS than another company. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Stellar Plumbing.
Duane answered my call at 6pm in the evening and met me at my property at 8am the next morning. He did a clean, professional job replacing a bad hot water heater that was leaking. Not the cheapest price but definitely a fair price and he showed up and got the job done the next day. I recommend Stellar Plumbing.
Duane was referred to me by my realtor, and I couldn’t be happier with how the project turned out. He truly had my best interests in mind—budget-conscious and never tried to upsell. He returns calls and shows up on time, which is rare these days. I highly recommend Stellar Plumbing and Duane!
He is an unlicensed contractor and he says bad things about other people. I was even threatened for my last review. Not a good person all around.
On a Sunday we had a sewer blockage and called a YELP highly rated plumber in Prescott. In fact, YELP had him second. He came and spent all day clearing the blockage. When he arrived we informed him we had a home warranty that would reimburse us for the cost but needed to know if it would be under $500. He said yes but a few hours later said it would now be over $500. We called the warranty company for authorization and they said OK. He finally finished to the tune of $975 but we weren't worried. He gave us a generic receipt without his company's name or address on it. We sent it to the warranty company and they said it was unacceptable. We asked them to send us a proper receipt but all they did was type one with still no address or company name. Then we looked at Stellar's website and, down at the very bottom in nearly greyed out letters it says "Not a licensed contractor". That should tell any new prospective customers all you need to know.
We had a sudden backup in our basement and started calling the list of plumbers in our area. We reached "Stellar Plumbing" and thankfully he said he'd come the next day. He came 15-20 min late, but they all seem to do this.. He worked nearly 5 hrs and it looks like he did a good job. For that we applaud him...and remain grateful. Our first error not asking him for an estimate. He'd been here before and I had no problem with what he charged then. However we have a problem now. To start we foolishly thought he was licensed and didn't ask. I left soon when he got here, but he gave my husband the bill and he about fainted! He charged us for new motor which he installed, it was in his billing~ the price was what we'd expect for that... But he also charged us $800.00 for labor~$1172.50 total. My husband wrote the check knowing it was too high~ but he didn't know what else to do. We then stopped the check until we could sort out the high billing. When we finally reached him with our decision he was angry, defending his bill to the ground. He faulted us for not asking for the estimate, that is our bad. I guess he's right about that. He left a large black sewery mess when he clean out the thing where the motor was...and then left that mess right by our stairs. He's a good man I'm sure, but he gouged us plain and simple. I want people to learn from our mistakes. Had we done these things. I believe it would have gone better. So beware and cover these bases.
So, about a month ago a friend of mine had a clogged toilet at her vacation house. A friend had recommended Duanae at Stellar Plumbing. It was a straightforward non-emergency problem that just needed a snake job, and Duane was done in no time. NOW HERE IS THE STORY... Like I said this is a vacation home, so there had no been a lot of activity in the house, and it was clogged again this morning. I called Duane, and told him I was a friend and we had another clog at the house. Duane said I will be there within the hour. 20 minutes later, here is Duane out of his van and looking at the same trap he had fixed a month ago. In five minutes, the drain was unclogged, and I asked what happened, he said, "It looks like the paper froze." Not any deficiency in his work, just the weather and a bad sewer pipe depth, (House grade is below street grade to sewer), and the fact that we had not run hot water in over a week. Duane was here for about twenty minutes, we ran a bunch of hot water and he cleared everything he could reach. Charge = $0, as a guarantee of his work... I couldn't believe it. Hence I am writing a review. If you are in Prescott, I have a plumber for you. Cheers, David
I wouldn't recommend Duane for anything. He took a whole month to unclog my tub faucet in which he diagnosed wrong at first. He had no follow up, I had to follow up with him. He way over charged me. He tried to charge me almost 1400 for about maybe 3 1/2 hrs of labor and $30 worth of vinegar. When he first came, he had no concern for my house with his dirty boots and laying his dirty tools on my high dollar counters. I had to spend an hour cleaning the grease off my counter and tub. He talks nice to you, but he looks to see how much he can get out of you all the while telling you he is saving you money. My opinion, he is a smooth talking con man. Just business nothing personal, that is how I for see him doing business. Oh, and he scratched up my almost $400 tub spout in which I will have to get that replaced. Just a careless guy looking to hustle a buck out of people. Im a pretty easy going go, do not say much and will usually just eat to let the other person have the upper hand. But this was so bad I had to call him out on it. He did nt bend, accept for $200. I was so upset I just wanted him out of my house. Great job, pulled that robbery off without a gun. Smooth!
Replace a hot water heater to say installed previously evidently six years ago. Don't believe it was that long. I messed up and didn't write the date on the hot water heater like I always do when I have a problem this one was out of warranty by two months three months and they wouldn't give me any warranty on it the new one that they installed that was installed today had a manufactures date of April 2023 so the water heater that I bought today is already six months out of warranty. I question how come there's not a leniency on it that this one sit in a warehouse and then when I if I have problems, then I am the one responsible for it because of the manufactures date very disappointed in it, the crew that did the work did a fantastic job on the previous job when they installed the previous one I had a plastic pan and they told me that it was against code that I had to have a metal pan and so they charge me for a metal pan and also the new installer said that I had to have stainless steel supply lines and the previous guys use my old lines so I'm just very disappointed in some of the things that happened on this but I am impressed with the team that installed it
Duane is so dependable and thorough. We first contacted him out sheer random luck (thanks, Google!) when we were vacationing in Maine and had to talk to him about a plumbing/water-leaking issue that happened in our home in Prescott when we were away and my parents (bless them, why does it always happen like this, right?) were at our house. I believe the issue was a clog from roots growing into the pipe that runs from the house to the street. After we returned home a few days later, there was a secondary issue. Duane said the downstairs toilet needed to come out so he could get at the issue and since we hated that too-low 1960s toilet anyway, we had him install a new one. No problems for almost 2 years. Now almost 2 years later, one night recently we had a smaller water-leaking issue downstairs again, and sure enough he was out here by 10am the next morning and rootered the pipe again. I think our plumbing issues are caused by the fact that we live on a steep hill in town with tons of foliage on our property. So root growth is probably going to be a frequent issue to contend with. I’m glad we have Duane’s number in our phone contacts!
Duane from Stellar Plumbing was honest and knowledgeable and seemed to care much more about being helpful and maintaining his good reputation than making as much money off my service call as possible. I gave him a list of pesky plumbing problems and for several he explained strategies for us to either fix it or further investigate the problem ourselves. For the garbage disposal, he confirmed what I suspected (but didn't say) that it was still functioning fine even though something is stuck in it and making noise. He said we could wait and see if the object either works its way down and resolves itself or if we need a new disposal. In the end he rounded down the amount of time he spent working on our problems and undercharged us. I said something about that and he pretty much said he wanted to treat customers well and keep a good reputation. He's seems to be a straight-up honest guy and I'm glad to have found a plumber like him.
Duane is absolutely great. We've called on a number of occasions for various problems - each of them difficult, some of them emergencies. He always arrives just in the nick of time, and figures out what the problem is and advises of the best way to deal with it. Our most difficult problem (for us, not for him) had to do with sewer stoppages and backups. Turned out it was a broken and malfunctioning backup valve. Someone had broken in by improperly snaking the cleanout. To make things worse, the builder had installed the valve four feet below ground and it was nearly impossible to service. But Duane figured out a way to do it - in fact, he made a tool for it. And there have been several other problems like this that has solved for us quickly and at a fair price. We're so happy to have found Stellar Plumbing. Big problems for us always turn out to be small problems for them.
Pretty sad when you ask you you are speaking with, and they won't even give you their NAME? ANY SERVICE INDUSTRY is reliant upon the CUSTOMER! Treat people as you would like to be treated and you will do well... Obviously there's a reason this Plumber didn't want to tell me his name! Absolutely nothing "STELLAR" about the Service from this company! (They don't even answer the VERY FIRST question I had... which was "Whom am I speaking with?") I wouldn't call this company for SERVICE if they refuse to answer me in a PROFESSIONAL MANNER! Maybe it's time for some "COMPETITION" in the Plumbing Business in the West Valley, and surrounding communities? The way the area is GROWING... Methinks there's way too much Demand, and not enough REAL SERVICE! I called "Roadrunner Plumbing" in Surprise, and they will be out later today!
Bought a 20 year-old house recently, that had been used extensively as a rental. Needless to say there were a lot of things in the way of maintenance that were sadly neglected. One of those areas was the plumbing system. We called Duane because we previously had outstanding service from him at our primary residence. We had him out on several occasions to address leaks, faulty shut-off valves, etc. He also installed a new water heater and an instant hot water system. He was always very responsive, showed up as scheduled, completed the work expeditiously, and did a first rate job on each and every task. Very professional and took the time to explain what the problem was what caused it, and what he did to rectify it. He will be our go-to guy for all our future plumbing needs. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!
I called to ask Stellar a few questions but found out they dont travel all the way to Camp Verde...which is understandable. Even so, I was given some excellent information on trouble shooting and what i could do as well as a professional opinion on sleeving my septic. I have 2" cast iron, sleeving makes it smaller, I think thats bad. Stellar agreed it would be better to go to 3 " new septic lines and I am really happy I had this conversation as the sleeving costs were so high already and dont include P traps. I really appreciate that even though he would make nothing from this conversation, he was generous with information and offered great suggestions for ways to check my incoming water pressure. He also answered the phone right away...wish he could be my plumber.
