We had a main plumbing line blockage at our property caused by tree roots that had damaged the piping. Spartan Plumbing answered my call late Sunday evening and sent a crew (Nick and Jared) out early Monday morning to take a look. From the start, both Jared and Nick were transparent and thorough in diagnosing the problem. They provided multiple quotes and clear options for moving forward with repairs, making a stressful situation much easier to navigate. The excavation crew (Craig and others) worked quickly and kept us updated each day on their progress. From start to finish, the project took just a few days — Monday through midday Thursday — and now our plumbing is working perfectly again. We’re very grateful for the Spartan team’s professionalism and hard work, and we highly recommend them to anyone dealing with plumbing issues.
Absolutely awful company to work with. I hired them to come out and find a leak. They gave me an estimate of $18,000 (which I'm now finding is probably twice what I should have paid). They said it was a leaking pipe under my concrete. They jackhammered up my concrete without hanging any plastic up and so my entire house was covered in concrete dust. When they left, they left my front door not only unlocked but wide open (since I had left on their recommendation because of the noise and dust). They also began replacing fixtures and lines in the two toilets and the sinks. They did terrible jobs and had to keep coming back and redoing them. They took out fairly upgraded fixtures and brought in builder basic. In a week there were 16 technicians in my home. 16! And by the time they were finished I had a leaking outdoor spigot, no water to my dishwasher, and a leaking front bathroom toilet. Every time I try to get them out here they want to charge me more money to fix these things. I tried getting a lawyer involved and they refused to answer her calls for 3 weeks so she gave up and didn't bill me (bless her heart). Whatever you do, do not work with these people. They will overcharge you. They will send out incompetent technicians. And then they will refuse fix the work that they left a mess unless you pay them more money.
Update: Initially rather than email, I called on Thursday, November 6 at 4:01 PM to speak to a manager for final resolution. I was told everyone was in a meeting. I received a call back at 4:41 PM from Josh Ferguson. He was apologetic for the delay of contacting me and admitted he knew some of the situation, but not at all. I requested a refund but he said his financial person was gone for the day and he would check back with me. Today is Tuesday, November 11 at 4:58 PM. It has now been 3 full business days and I have heard nothing. I will give you short version(and yes, this is the short version) TLDR: They try to upsell you, management/leadership are horrible, and customer service is beyond terrible. (Has not always been this way, so is 100% a leadership issue, not the employees). -I have used this company several times, including the water heater I currently have. -Techs are great. Very professional and very relatable and honest -Leadership/Management is unprofessional and not customer service centered -Even the operations manager (Brayden?) did not follow through with what he said he would do. Told me he was going to look into my warranty personally and then never contacted me back. I only received a random request for an appointment. When I followed up, he said he “wanted to talk to me” yet never actually made an effort to contact me -Manager Nick tried to sell me a $20,000 water filter/softener system instead of addressing my warranty and tried to claim that was the only way my warranty for my water heater would be valid (I’ve had several techs out and I won’t say which ones, but they’ve mentioned what a terrible manager and person he is) -Contacted the operations manager with concerns about the water heater repair to the point I had to call the fire department. Rather than send someone out he recommended I contact a chimney repair company. -a month later it turns out it’s been leaking gas the whole time and only figures out after I bought a detector and inspected. -several times I was told I’d get a call back and never did and I had to continue to follow up. -yesterday I called around 9:00 am was told I would get a call back to try and get scheduled today. By 4:00 I hadn’t gotten a call so I(once again) had to call them. I was told everyone was in a meeting. Heard NOTHING back until this morning. I would never use them again based on their lack of customer service, unprofessional leadership, and outright lack of concern of safety for their customers and only focusing on upsellling.
Something has changed with Spartan Plumbing in the last couple years. In 2022, we contracted them for a hydro-jet of our main line which was approximately $900. With this, we received prompt service, excellent communication, timeliness, and an overall feeling of good business. Around this time, we also had them install a new water condition and copper piping, which also went well. In 2025... we had an issue with our sewer line and contacted Spartan. We had an appointment scheduled between 8 and 10 AM. That time came and went, no call, no text, no nothing. I called, and received some reason about "things popping up" as to why no one showed. I was also told that they may not get to it that day. I explained that this was unacceptable as we had an appointment. They sent out some very young looking guys around noon, who I later found out were not equipped for drain maintenance so they "assessed" the situation, without actually running any water or doing any tests whatsoever and called back to Spartan HQ. Around 4 PM, they say a team can make it out to our house. They send a team out who looks at our pipe and comes back with a few options. We received a quote for $3000 to perform a hydro-jet service. They agreed to "knock it down" to $2300. They also offered a drain snake service for $450. These prices are about three times higher than the local average. Needless to say, Spartan did not get our business nor will they in the future. Spend your money elsewhere... it seems as though something has changed over in the Spartan back office.
They charged me 900 dollars to do a simple gas line pressure test. Were told no insurance. I still have no gas and this was two months ago cause they took all my money. Became rude and started huffing and puffing about there time when told I'd like to have another place take a look. I got a quote just for fun for the twenty foot of gas pipe and water heater they quoted $8000 for both or $5300 for just the pipe. Guess they want me to buy them nice sprinter vans for them myself it seems. Just not good people keep scrolling find a company that cares more when somebody was murdered and burnt up next door causing your damage. This one only cares about buying nice sprinter vans it seems. It took me two months to write this cause I figured my anger would pass. Nope I'm more angry as the cold is coming and that 900 would have done the job if I used better people. Call somebody else. Spartan thinks they're in the movie 300 as they kick customers into the pit.
