Great experience with Smithy’s Plumbing—especially Al. He came out in freezing cold weather when we urgently needed our sewer line dug and handled everything with professionalism and hard work. We’re very grateful and would highly recommend Smithy’s Plumbing, and Al in particular.

Had a stainless steel utility sink installed. Removed the old mounted unit. Work was done in less time than quoted. Communication from beginning to end was top notch. Easy pricing and worked with our schedule. While I don't look forward to any future plumbing needs I do rest easy knowing who I will call when those needs present themselves. Great job Smithy's!!

Al came to Mother and father's house to get there hot water heater working he was able to quickly diagnose the problem. He was courteous and professional and explained our options. Al installed a new hot water tank, quickly and took the time too explain whole installation to my 91 year old father . I would highly recommend Al and Smithy's plumbing. I hope to have Al do work for me in the near future. Thank you Al and Smithy's plumbing LLC

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Had him in there to fix change a 3 handle shower to a new standard. Should have avoided from the get go and read the Better Business Bureau reviews. First the quote didn't match what the in person price was, happens, but it's a red flag in hindsight. Day of service he was 5 hours late and showed up at 6pm. We had a concert and had to leave Smithy with the baby sitter. When we get back we find the pipe leaking. He said he told the babysitter it was okay and left for the night. It may have been, but why not text us? He texted all other times, you know? So nit knowing we turned off our water. Next day he shows up at 5p and leaves at 7p, again not super awesome specially with young kids. Then he finishes the job on the third day and EVERYTHING'S LOOSE! the shower head, the tub spout and the handle theb the water runs out of the shower hesd for a good 30 seconds agter shut off. This is where it gets truly terrible, when I had to call his customer service line. His cusotmer service line dude UNHINGED! I tell him my issues and he says it is supposed to work like that, accuses me of lying to him and REPEATEDLY hangs up on me! It is the most outrageous situation I have ever been in. Smithy eventually call me apologizing, saying he fires the guy and that nit won't happen again. But then also says all these problems are normal and to worry about it. Not wanting to deal with it, I let it go. Fast forward about a year, I suspect I have a leak from the loose fittings. CUSTOMER SEFVICE DUDE IS BACK!!!! AND JUST AS TERRIBLE. Then Smithy claims he has told me about the leaks, he will need to charge for a service call (15 days past the 1 year 🙄) and there is likley nothing he can do. The most outrageous, infuriating, and over-priced contractor, I have ever dealt with. Please do not use him, the WORST 2K I have ever spent and a true NIGHTMARE.

Extremely poor communication and an unwillingness to take responsibility. When I raised concerns around undisclosed fees I was charged and explained that the original issue (a dripping tub spout) was still not fully resolved, the company refused to listen and instead repeatedly defended themselves using the plumber’s perspective to override my experience. Rather than asking clarifying questions or working toward resolution, communication escalated into long explanations, defensiveness, and accusations. I was talked over, yelled at, and sent multiple messages without being heard, and ultimately felt overwhelmed and dismissed. Prospective customers should be aware that if there is a misunderstanding around scope or pricing, this company does not seem inclined to take ownership or work collaboratively toward resolution. What could have been resolved through transparency and accountability instead became unnecessarily stressful — particularly during the holidays.

Called Smithy's up after I had questionable experience with another local plumber. They sent Al Smith out the next day (no charge) to survey the damage, and provide an estimate on the $7k worth of work the previous plumber recommended. Al with 30+ years of experience explained to me exactly what had been done, what was recommended, and how he would approach the problem. The next day Al came out and got to work on the clogged drain. Al was able to clear the clog without any demolition, and he explained exactly how he was able to do that. I was impressed with Al's expertise, ability to articulate the work that he was doing, and the fair price that he charged. Smithy's and Al have earned a repeat customer, and although I didn't need the $7k work, I will be calling them for all future plumbing needs. Smithy's has great professionals, and a fair price, I cannot recommend them any higher. Thanks

Al Smith from Smithy's did an awesome job! He completely fixed our leak and made sure to explain everything to me in a way that was easy to understand without being a plumbing pro. He kept me updated and made sure I was aware of the unique issues he came across in our old home. With all of his experience, he was able to fix our leak in an inexpensive way where most plumbers would have chosen a much more expensive route. On top of all of this, he went above and beyond, paying attention to the smaller details and cleaning up the surrounding space, leaving it better/cleaner than it was before (unlike the previous plumbers I've used that leave a mess). I couldn't be happier with the outcome and experience overall.

Smithy’s was so unbelievably helpful for our toilet catastrophe this last weekend. I called early Monday morning since we didn’t have a fully functional toilet - not only did they squeeze us in same-day, but Al was able to consult on ongoing basement drainage issues. He went above and beyond in every way. We knew buying an old house (~1940s) that we’d run into some issues and had some plumbing questions after our home inspection. Al put all those questions to bed and helped game plan how to move forward with pipe/line repairs. Intensely knowledgeable and extremely friendly, can’t recommend this business enough.

We are grateful for Al - he is super respectful, kind, courteous, & informative! We had Roto Rooter quote us almost $12,000; got a second opinion from Smithy's & saved over $10,000 plus a ton of unnecessary work that Roto Rooter tried to bully us into. Al took the time to explain everything to us & went above & beyond, even pointing out things unrelated to the job & maintenance tips to keep things running smoothly moving forward. He even adjusted his solution at no additional cost to resolve the job even faster while also avoiding the need to redo our floor. I highly recommend Smithy's!

Avoid Al Smithys Plumbing at all costs! I hired Al to do some work that was going to be about a 2 week job. He showed up 3 days later than he said he was going to start and then only stayed for about 2 hours and left. Two days later he came for about 2 hours again and left and didn't come back for almost a week later. When I asked if he could complete the job in a more timely manner he sent threatening messages then stopped answering my calls and messages and stole $8000 of my money that I had paid up front. Do not give this man any of your business. He will steal your money!

work performed satisfactorily. billing was a huge lack of communication and I was told its my fault for not knowing their hourly rates and not knowing their time anf a half rates and hours...mind you I called on a monday and got late service on a thursday, nothing was emergent. when I asked the plumber at my house about the cost he said he didn't know what it would be until the office did the billing. I was required to leave a review before billing was completed in order to get a discount

We called Smithys to replace a water faucet on the outside patio that was leaking from freezing that broke the cooper pipe at Don Rigo's Mexican restaurant in Amelia. Ohio.. He was able to add a cut off valve inside the wall install a new frostless water faucet. The original was not a frostless and failed. He came at his estimated time and did a excellent job on a commercial building. I highly recommend calling Smithys Plumbing no matter the job big or small He is the go to Plumber.

Al from Smithy's Plumbing LLC came out on a main line sewer backeup and augerered multiple times, but still backing up, Al contacted (MSD) Metropolitan Sewer Dept. for me to come out and check there side of the main sewer line with camera, MSD came out at no cost to me and ran camera in and out mutiple times and backflushed multiple times, after they cleaned out the city side of the line, the main sewer line seems to be running fine with no backup... Thank You

Arrived 45 min. late and took nearly 3 hours to do a job most skilled plumbers would knock out in 30 minutes. Then charged me more than double what I expected to pay (make sure you get a written quote BEFORE they start working). Not at all professional. Ultimately, the repair was successful, but I won't be calling these guys again. UPDATE: The same pipe they "fixed" ruptured again less than a year later, so I'm not even sure their service was worth 2 stars. 😕

Had them come out for a gas leak, they fixed everything, Duke came back out did a faulty test turned the gas off so I had to call them back, they provided lots of documentation and tested free of charge again no cost to come back when really it wasn’t their fault they didn’t fail on the work or anything it was Dukes fault, so that was nice of them and the type of people you want to hire over someone who will add extra fees to everything.
