From the time I called to schedule an appointment to the time the technician left my house, the service received was outstanding. I believe Keith is the owner and is who took my call. Very friendly voice and he was able to send someone to my house within 45 minutes of me making the call. Travis showed up at my house. He was very friendly from the start. He knew what the problem was, WITHOUT tearing up my house/floor/ceiling. He got the job done and was out. It's a good feeling when you find someone that you want to be their customer for life, especially when you are new to the city & state.
After calling a large plumbing company for an estimate I reached out to Scott Plumbing and he gave me an accurate estimate over phone and then worked me into his schedule 2 hrs later. His estimate was 1/3 of the other company. Very experienced, old school service (pride in work), fair price and cleaned up after they were done. They will be first go to plumber! Kudos Scott Plumbing
My husband and I can't say enough good about this team. The plumbers arrived on time, set to work on the repairs we requested. The owner, Keith spent some time on the telephone with our home warranty company and was able to get our new water heater installation authorized in order for us to be reimbursed for a covered repair. The home warranty company was not easy to deal with, but Keith helped us get our coveted authorization so we could be reimbursed. Yippee! When I purchased fixtures to replace the faucets on my tub and new sinks I was missing a few items. The plumbers were able to provide me with the missing items and didn't price gouge us for the parts we purchased from them. Everything they needed to proceed with the requested work was handy on their truck. Our new sinks and water heater were professionally installed. My bathroom now looks like it belongs in a model home. I am so happy with the work done by these folks. They will win our business for all of our plumbing needs going forward. And they charge reasonable prices for excellent and professional workmanship.
Had a leak in July and they "patched" it but said my whole house had to be replumbed because the pipe was smashed and he didn't know how long the crushed pipe was. He didn't bother to dig parallel to see where it ended. I cancelled due to finances. Had another leak in November and scheduled a re-plumb. I was given a ballpark price that was 600-1100 higher than in July. When I asked why I was told materials have gone up. Plus they couldn't get me in until the middle of December. I have been without water for 2 weeks and friends convinced me to get a second opinion, which I did. I had another company come and he dug where Scott's "patched" The patch was where it was leaking so my new plumber dug one more tile over and found where the pipe was not smashed, cut the smashed pipe out, put new pipe in and it's fixed. I was told Scott's just wanted the money to re-plumb and didn't care about the fix that should have been done. I am disappointed and feel like I was ripped off in July when they were first called out. Shame on you for taking advantage of a widowed woman!
Scott's plumbers were super nice, but they told me that it wasn't possible to connect my disposal to my new sink and if I wanted to use the disposal I would have to order a new sink and have them come back out. Now, I typically use another Madison plumber, but they were booked up, so I went with Scott's which was recommended here and on our neighborhood site. When I was able to order and have a new sink delivered because we needed the disposal, the other Madison plumber came out and told me it was actually very easy to connect my disposal to my (at that point, current) sink, and they were really perplexed as to why they would tell me that. Writing this because it was an additional $300 and months without a disposal that shouldn't have happened.
I don't typically write reviews, but when I feel like I need to warn others away from crooks, I'll sit down and write one. The review is a semi-detailed account of my experience, but the bottom line is at the end if you don't want to read the whole thing. On the original call, the owner of the company came out to fix two toilets that I had running, and I assume he was training a new plumber. He claimed to fix both toilets, but he was lacking the parts on his truck and just "adjusted" one of them and said it was fixed, but it was not. Both of the toilets were still running, so called him back out because the work was under warranty. The same new plumber came out, by himself this time, and fixed them again. At the end of the job, he tried to collect payment. I told him this was a warranty call and I shouldn't owe anything. He calls the owner, and the owner tells him to charge me for one toilet instead of two. His logic was that they didn't work on the toilet that they just "adjusted" last time, since they didn't have the part to replace it, and he claimed that I owed for that toilet. Here is where the math gets a bit fuzzy. The plumber was going to charge me $150 for both toilets without any warranty. With one under warranty, he was still trying to charge me $117, and the first time he charged me $135. So if two toilets in one call was $150, then why was he trying to charge me the $135 from the original call with an extra $117 from this one? Mind you, I didn't agree to any extra work outside of the warranty work they were supposed to be doing. I told the plumber that I wasn't going to pay because this is warrantied work and I don't owe anything. He calls the owner back and the owner calls me on my cell and says I have 5 minutes to pay his plumber or he is going to call the Sheriffs department and report me for theft of services, then just hangs up on me. He wouldn't even entertain the idea of going over his math for what he was expecting me to pay. At this point, I decided to call the Sheriffs department myself, because I didn't do anything wrong. About an hour later, two deputies show up and get both of our stories. Since this is a civil matter, they couldn't really do anything, but they both agreed with me that the plumber should have given me some form of statement of work before starting new work. At the end of the day, I ended up paying $100 because the owner was adamant about filing a theft of service report against me, and it wasn't worth anymore of my time to deal with this idiot. His plumber was there for 3 hours for less than a 1 hour job, so at least I got some justice of wasting his time and costing him business for his shady dealings; additionally, I hope this review will serve as a warning and help people find an honest plumber instead of this crook that cares more about being right than taking care of his customers. Bottom Line: At the end of the day, the owner of this company would rather waste 3 hours of time for him, me, his plumber, and two deputies than honor a $100 warranty claim for his work. Not to mention the other customers that were scheduled for later that day. Stay away from this company.
I found Scott Plumbing on January 5 at 4:45pm thanks to a very high water bill and Yelp's solid recommendations. A quick call to Scott Plumbing just before closing and I had an 8:30am appointment for next day service. Not a problem...I wasn't gushing water, and given the recent single digit temperatures I figured it might be a few days. Their communications are stellar. I received a text an hour before my appointment: Hi, your technician Jeff E. (Rating 4.9/5) from Scott Plumbing, LLC is on the way to 113 Corwin Drive, Harvest, AL 35749 USA. Jeff is native to the Cullman area and has been in the Madison County area since 2018. Jeff has four daughters, is a die-hard football fan, spends his free time coaching softball for his girls, and plays in an adult softball league. Jeff has been in the plumbing industry since 2018 and has been with Scott Plumbing since 2019 and is now one of our managers. Jeff likes a challenge and plumbing tasks that make him think about how things come together. Track now: (link). Call our office for any questions: (256) 701-6181 Jeff and Daniel arrived just before the 8:30am appointment time. They quickly surveyed my problem, gave me a verbal quote, and started work on a handshake. I had calculated how much time I thought it would take me to do the repair, and considered how much I make an hour... And I had in my mind the budget for the project. It would've likely been a five hour project for me, with two trips to Lowe's. I'm an electrical guy...not a water guy. Their estimate was a little higher than my budget, but they were here...ready...and my family of five loves using water (I would hear about a five hour outage unless it was at 2AM-7AM). A little more than an hour later my leak was history. No trips to the store--they had what they needed and they worked fast. The cutoff to my home (30 years old) had deteriorated and was watering my dormant lawn on the side of the house that nobody travels in the winter. They dug it up by hand, siphoned water, replaced it with a new/improved shutoff, replaced a small section of the pipe with it, and added a new housing. The only tip that I have--I should've asked them about veterans discount or explored their website for some of their coupons. Their website is well done, and looking at it before service would've possibly saved enough to put them within my budget, but I'm not complaining. I did take one star away from five because I prefer a straight forward cost model and not one that expects negotiation or investigation for coupons. Excellent service, and honorable skill-trade profession. I will keep Scott Plumbing in mind for future work, and I recommend them as long as you take into consideration my tip...ask about discounts and check for coupons.
Used Scott Plumbing to repair a leak in the pipe running from the water meter to my house. Paid $1825.00 to "Repipe main, meter to house on 15 Oct. 2019. On 12 Aug. 2020 noticed a water leak from the house side of the water meter. Contacted Scott Plumbing and asked how long their work was warranted for, and they stated 1 year. I had them come out, they fixed the leak, which was caused by a leaking check valve between the house and water meter that they had to replace. This work was performed under warranty for no charge on 12 Aug. 2020. Five days later on 17 Aug. 2020 I once again observed a leak at the house side of the water meter. I called Scott Plumbing, who once again sent out a plumber to fix the leak. Scott Plumbing discovered the five day old replaced check valve was leaking again, Scott plumbing then informed me that I would have to pay for a replacement. I called Keith at Scott plumbing and told him I didn't feel I should have to pay to get something fixed that they had just fixed five days prior. Keith then informed me that I could pay, or he would send his plumber away, and I could call another plumbing service for my needs. I reluctantly paid the $75.00 for the repair, as I wanted my water back on. Would not use them again, as they failed to stand behind their work.
Inadequate customer service. I knew exactly what my problem was but yet couldn't even get a ballpark idea of how much the charge would be to fix. They said they could send someone to look at it and tell me what was wrong and how much it would be to fix it but their estimates are NOT free. In other words I have to pay them to tell me what the problem is even though I already know what the problem is!?! Really!?! All I needed was a bathtub drain to be reconnected. They basically acted like I wasn't worth their time. I'm not a plumber but have worked in the service industry in Huntsville for years and my wife works in property management and handles all repairs for over 400 rental properties. So I always get asked which companies or vendors are the best for all different types of repairs which usually results in lots of business for whoever I recommend. The next time I get asked what plumber I recommend I will be sure to steer them clear of this company so they don't waste their time like I did!
I had been trying to remove a couple rusted galvanized pipes from bathroom sink inlets that would not budge. I was worried that I would break the pipes from inside the wall trying to wrench them any further. I swallowed my pride and gave him a call as brute strength obviously wasn't working. He was understanding and seemed to genuinely care as one person to another and charged the most reasonable rate I could have imagined for the late hour. It took him about 20 minutes and he was able to remove the rusted nipples from the pipe elbows without stressing or damaging the wall pipes or elbows at all. Well worth the price to prevent any potential damage. I was then able to easily put new fittings on and turn my water back on that had been off for about 6 hours. Sometimes you just have to pay for the expert that knows the techniques of the profession. I will definitely keep them in the contact list for future needs!
We had Scott Plumbing do all of the plumbing upgrades when we moved a year and a half ago (primary bath, kitchen, new water heater). We spent a LOT of money with them AND, invested our trust in them. Now, just a year and a half later, when the new water heater overflow tank and its’s connection failed, they tell us that they do not warranty their labor or parts past one year. A water heater system and all of its components and labor should definitely last more than a year and a half. When we requested that a manager be called and apprised of the situation, they still refused to stand behind their work. And to make matters worse, the manager that was called was actually the same person that did all of the work! We have lost faith in Scott Plumbing and will not use them in the future.
I just had the worst experience with this company. The pipe bringing water into my house was nicked by a lawnmower. It was coming out of the ground a bit when this happened. The man Scotts sent out said that he could fix it but he couldn't rebury it in that he had no dirt (???). He quoted me a price that I found to be high and so I told him thank you, but I think I'll look elsewhere. I got a call 10 minutes later from his boss saying I had slammed the door in his face and was rude to him. What? This guy had a speech impediment, as does my son. I was very kind and polite to him. His boss said that he was going to believe his guy and accused me of blocking his call when he used the business phone. I don't even know how to block a call. All pretty disturbing and weird.
My underground drains were clogged causing water to pour off my roof onto a back patio area. I had 2 inches of standing water. I knew I couldn't call my regular plumber. They can never come out the same day. I called Scott Plumbing to see if they could help me. Within one hour, J was at my house. He came up with a plan, left to retrieve the needed equipment, and was back within an hour. He unclogged 2 underground French drains and when the next downpour came, my gutters worked properly. I was very impressed with how fast they responded and fixed my problem. And J was wonderful! I am a Scott Plumbing convert.
Absolutely fantastic communication and quick service. I called and within a hour a tech arrived. Gabriel was friendly, extensive experience and overall fantastic tech. He had the problem shut off within the hour, and also assisted me in finding a service to come in and remove all water damaged flooring and walls. They worked out here from about 10am to 10pm! I would recommend this company and techie Gabriel to everyone. They are honest Hard working folks that are just fantastic. Don't hesitate, call and see for yourselves. I personally will never call another plumbing service!!
The customer service at Scott Plumbing is outstanding. Keith addressed my concerns and handled them professionally and promptly. As for the actual repair of my plumbing problem, Travis is the best in the business. He throughly diagnosed and explained my situation, then came out the next day and installed 2 brand new toilets. Within 24 hours my plumbing problem was completely solved! Scott Plumbing will be the first company I call for any future plumbing problems. I trust them completely! Thank you for your good work Keith and Travis. You make a good team.
