I’ve tried numerous plumbing companies over the years and can honestly say I am done searching, this plumbing company was fast and efficient. The plumber that came out was John. John listened to what is was trying to explain, verified we were on the same page, he gave me a reasonable quote and proceeded to get the job done in less than 15 min. This job was the exact job that a plumber from a different company told me the day before that I should just replace my 2yo bidet, that he’d try to fix it but he might break it! He said all that even with a video the mfg sent with step by step instructions. His quote was $600. I sent him on his way. So glad I did vi found my forever plumber today. John was efficient, courteous, polite and most of all he did a great job for a price that didn’t break the bank. Highly recommend this company!
I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Andy and the Schrader Plumbing team. Andy carefully evaluated the issue, explained everything clearly, and resolved multiple clogged drains without unnecessary work. It is rare to find this level of honesty and customer care. I truly appreciate the professionalism and would recommend them without hesitation.
Cody and Hunter were very professional and explained everything clearly. Not our first time with them and def not our last. They replaced our water heater in 3 hours and made sure we were comfortable with all decisions. Amazing customer service. Fast service. Genuinely wanted us to be happy. Highly recommend. Arrived early. Estimated cost is what I paid. Trustworthy. If you’re looking for a solid company. Call Schrader. They’ll take care of you. PLUS! They made sure the codes and permits were all taken care of. One cost for everything and I live in a strict district. Thanks yall. Has and will be our plumbing needs.
I'd be very cautious before using Schrader Plumbing. I had a horrible experience with them. 2 months ago I experienced a stoppage in my toilets. Based on the exceptional reviews, I called Schrader to come out and fix the problem. They sent technician Michael Badgley. I was initially given two quotes, one for roughly $800 and the other for $4,000. After a quick inspection of my home, Michael determined that he would have to dig a hole in the back yard at a cost of $5,700. While I didn't really understand how the quotes kept changing, I agreed to the scope of work as I'm not a plumbing expert and needed to get the stoppage resolved quickly. Bewildered, I later sent the receipt to my neighbor, who informed me that my house was pier and beam, not slab as it indicated on the quote. I recalled Michael asking me where the crawl space was and I wasn't able to identify it (my fault as an uniformed homeowner) although I showed him the area I thought it was in inside the master bedroom. He passed right over it without a second look. Later, after speaking with my neighbor, I was able to go over and find the crawl space myself easily. Michael fixed the pipe under the toilet in the main bathroom and then proceeded to tell me that I would need to replace all of the pipes at my house at a cost of $30k. He couldn't even assure me that the problem I had just handed over $5,700 for was fixed. The icing on the cake was the $100 bill that I had tucked into my lunch tote on the kitchen table in view of the technician, and when I returned later it was missing. That was certainly my own fault for leaving it unsecured. I was concerned about the entire process and wrote to the owner, John Schrader. I waited several days with no response to my email or phone calls, which spoke volumes to me as a customer. After my third attempt to contact him, I was finally passed off to a service advisor. I explained my concerns to him, that the crawl space was never properly identified and that I wasn't sure that the repair that was done was necessary. He offered me a refund of $750 "to remove my bad review" which I hadn't yet written. Less than 2 months later I experienced the same stoppage. I called Schrader again and was told that the pipes needed to be replaced. I finally called another plumber who identified the source of the stoppage, this time to be at the front of the house instead of the rear. They fixed the problem for only a fraction of what I paid to Schrader. He explained that the first repairs were unnecessary. If you like being robbed, by all means give Schrader Plumbing a call. I absolutely feel violated and taken advantage of as a single female homeowner. If you want to save your hard earned money and get the job done right, get a second opinion.
We had an emergency situation with our water heater going out. They were able to get out quickly and the techs were knowledgeable. The quote was $5000-7800, depending on what type of water heater we got. We decided to get other quotes first, so we asked them to make sure we'd still have cold water while we look at options. It took them less than 20 mins, no parts needed and they charged us $695!!! I still don't understand how it was so high, but we were too exhausted to argue so we just paid it. Nice, knowledgeable and quick service, but watch for those prices. PS I ended up going with another (very reputable) company for the repair, paid $2570.
Bait and Switch? I feel ripped off. I had one gentleman come over for an estimate, which I trusted and one of the reason why I picked this company to complete the work as he was providing me other ideas about solving my problems that were more cost effective. One day prior to the install, I received word it was a different person doing the work, which I have never spoken to. When he arrived, he didn't know what the pricing was and indicated it was not the same. After a call to the office, he said they agreed to the pricing and started the install. The largest priced item came out to be 33% higher than the price I was quoted; 20% of that cost is due to their "standard" up-charge on material cost. I told him material was quoted at cost and I would even be shown the receipt, which he responded as it being not corporate policy. Given the post-installation information, I would've (and will in the future) pick a different company. *In response to John's response* Thank you for your quick response and I will call tomorrow during business hours. So we're on the same page for the call, below are the main talking points: As I was told prior to starting the work, I will be notified prior to any deviation from the work and agree to the updated scope of work. There was an issue with the third commode as the flange was lower than the tile and required an extension, which I agreed to. There is no dispute on the commode SOW. The additional work on the floodstop is news to me from your response. I was never told there was an issue and certainly not an updated price. After the commodes were complete, the plumber went to the "store" (for lack of a better term as I forget the exact verbiage he used) to grab the supplies for the floodstop. From there, he arrived and went straight to work and I did not hear from him until was 99% complete and asked for four AA batteries as the four AA batteries he got from the "store" were dead (not sure if I was charge for those). When it came time to pay, I was shocked to see the final price, which was when it was revealed the pricing I was quoted was not going to be used, which led to my initial post. Just to note, I think the most important aspect for me is finding "my plumber" that I can trust and rely on if I needed assistance and preventative maintenance. I had one in Keller and having just moved to Flower Mound, I thought the plumber who I first met was going to be that guy. I really liked him - he was friendly, understood what I was looking for, offered suggestions, etc. I was bummed when I heard one day prior (I scheduled it the install one week in advance) he wasn't going to be installing my stuff and I did briefly think about cancelling the work and going with another company but gave it a shot.
Had an issue with my toilet where it would sometimes flush properly and other the tank would not fill properly. And once in a while the tank would not stop filling and begin to overfill. I had the flapper replaced a few years ago by a plumber assigned from our home warranty company that I really didn't trust. It's not really worked right since and so I requested to just have most of whatever is in the tank replaced. The Schrader Plumbing plumber came out and provided an estimate. It seemed a little high, but I'm not sure as I didn't do any real cost comparisons, which is on me. The plumber seemed to know what he was talking about so I went ahead and authorized the repair. They performed the work quite quickly, and it looked good to me. The next morning I noticed a small amount of water around the base of the toilet so I called back and they sent the same plumber back out fairly quickly, within a few hours, it was a pretty slow leak so I just put some towels around it and wasn't a huge issue. They fixed the leak pretty quickly, it appears one of the bolts needed to be a little tighter. The leak has not reoccurred. I also had them fix a small shower leak I have been having. The company is very professional to work with, their communication system is outstanding, and they showed up at the promised times. They were able to come out the next day after the initial request for quote, and performed repair the same visit. I'm not dinging them on the price because I didn't do due diligence, but I will provide the work description and what I payed so you can make your own determination on cost competitiveness. The description of the work as provided in their receipt: "Plumber will replace fill valve, flush valve, flapper, and tank to bowl gasket by pulling tank, and replacing tank to bowl gasket, bolts, and washers, and resetting tank. Schrader Plumbing not responsible for sheetrock, paint, flooring, landscaping, ect. Tech will remove, and replace additional angle stop added to already installed standard cost angle stop w/o supply line. Tech proposes to remove and replace plumber supplied tub:shower cartridge. Tech will test once completed to verify that there are no further leaks. Any unforseen issues will be additional. Schrader Plumbing not responsible for sheetrock, paint, flooring, ect." The cost for these line items was $1001.00. Overall, I would say it was a very positive experience, however in the future I would probably investigate pricing a bit more rigorously.
John C. installed a new gas range for us today and did an excellent job. While there he also asked if there was anything else I wanted him to look at, and he then fixed a loose shower handle. And THEN he pointed out a couple issues with the hot water heater. He knows his stuff, and the price was very competitive! Thanks John! Update: it's now a few months later and we had a different plumbing issue and asked for John to come out, which he did the same day. Turns out it was an irrigation leak and not a water pipe, so we need an irrigation guy (me) to fix it. He did save me a bunch of time by zeroing in on the culprit sprinkler! Update#2 (Dec 2025) - So, a totally new plumbing issue today, and there was no one else I would call to fix it other than John C. from Schrader. As always, he was right in time, found and fixed the problem in record time. Then, as he always does, asked if there was anything else I wanted him to look at, which I did of course. We discussed that issue and came up with a plan for that. As a homeowner, there is nothing more comforting than knowing you have professionals you can trust to do the work you can't. John is one of those. Update #3 (May 2026). We asked for John C. to come out again as our old water heater finally died, as we knew it would. He was there within an hour or so and had the new one installed in about another hour. What a pro! He also coordinated getting an electrician and the required inspection done. He takes all the pressure off the homeowners and is always willing to look at anything else needing done on the same trip. Thanks again John!
Chris initially came out and addressed a toilet that wasn't flushing properly. During that visit, a pipe was repaired. However, when the same issue reappeared TWO days later and I called him back, rather than being transparent -- as the problem was simply a clogged toilet -- he attempted to charge me $3,100 for unnecessary work. I declined and brought in another plumber, who confirmed that the toilet was in good working order and NO repairs were needed. Additionally, when Chris arrived, there was a strong odor of smoke on him, which irritated my allergies and made the experience uncomfortable. I also have concerns that no permit was pulled for THE SEWER BREAK REPAIR THAT WAS DONE TWO DAYS BEFORE SINCE THERE WASN'T an inspection conducted by the city. They also charged me $195 more than the agreed amount. I was told a refund check had been mailed, but it never arrived -- I had to follow up again just to get the refund processed. Lastly, it appears Tom, the general manager, may not be aware that the credit card company they use imposes a $69 fee whether or not the card is activated. I left this experience feeling completely misled and over-charged. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances.
First Time Customer We are managing an office property from out of state, I received a call from an office tenant that had a broken toilet. I was scurrying to find a reliable/affordable vendor that could attend to our tenant quickly, possibly same day. I called Star to make the appointment, she handled the rest. Don, the plumber called me while at the job site and he walked me through the various options. I chose to replace the toilet and all of this was done on the same day that I called. I am so thankful and the tenant is happy they have an operating toilet! Pros: -They answered my call when I picked up the phone to call, unlike most or smaller plumbing businesses which go straight to voicemail. -They contacted the tenant to find out more details since I wasn't on-site to help with specific questions. -Don, the plumber, called me to walk through the details of the problem and how to solve the problem. -Payment/Invoice over the phone and emailed a pdf invoice of the bill. -Friendly and efficient. Cons: -NONE :) I would be happy to call them our go to plumber for future office plumbing needs.
They came to snake my clogged toilet and place a new toilet there. I supplied the new toilet myself. They did the work and charged me for a toilet. I called and they said "oh he's hooking you up with a deal. It's normally $420 to snake the pipe so that's why he charged you that much for the toilet" I said why does snaking a drain cost $420? And he said "oh it's to cover the price of the snake in case it breaks and we have to recover it and replace it" I'm like, but it didn't break... so why are yall charging me that much. Gave me the run around. I had to get this work done ASAP so I payed for this. Worker put his weight on my tub trim and popped it from the tub. I said don't do that cause you're breaking it. He said "sorry" then preceded to keep doing it, breaking it more. And then did not offer to fix it or compensate me for the damage. These guys are scams. Told my buddy he had a foundation leak and wanted $15,000 to fix it. My buddy did his own investigating to find the dishwasher leaked and cause hardwood floor damage and that is all. SCAMMERS!
We found out the water pressure in my brother’s house in Lake Country Estates was significantly higher than normal and we also had a small leak where the water line from the meter joined to our house. We got three quotes and picked Schrader Plumbing since they have an excellent reputation and they had the best estimate for fixing the leak and replacing the 30+ year old water pressure reducer and back flow preventer. Plumber Casey Kimbler assessed the issue and came up with the plan and executed it efficiently and professionally. He had to dig up the pipes and equipment located in the front yard. The sprinkler system had to be reattached to the system properly since it had previously been hooked up wrong. Casey determined that problem in his assessment. He was the only plumber who did. The shortcut would have been to ignore fixing it. Overall we were very pleased with the work. By the way Casey took pictures of the progress as he worked and included pictures with the invoice. The final cost was as estimated. Excellent work.
Had an electrical problem with the well. The company doesn't do anything with wells. When I called and asked they said they have a guy that is good with wells. He came by, stripped a few cables and added wire nuts. Maybe 10 mins of work and I'm being generous. $225 and it didn't fix the issue. They told me it's an electrical issue and to call an electrician. I have worked with this company a few times but this will be the last. They care way more about the mighty buck than actually providing good, honest service. I asked if the water refilled the pressure tank after being used and he lied and said it did. Once they left and we used some water, it didn't come back. Hired another company the next day that replaced the control box. So yes, it was electrical, but don't lie to the customer that your guy knows wells. Just say you can't help. Or at the very least collect a FAIR fee for driving out, offering an opinion and call it a day. Horrible service. Don't use. Update: Manager called to refund $100 of the $225 fee charged.
I have used them three times. The first time their pricing was reasonable and I gave them the work. The second time was a water heater free quote. After talking with the tech on site he said that all that was wrong with it was a control valve. I elected to have the water heater replaced anyway since all the rest of the mechanical in the home was new. The third time was a leak under the slab. They came out and busted up the concrete in the garage and tunneled to the leaking pipe. The sent pictures of the damaged pipe but not of the repaired pipe. That was a week ago. Since then, 4 different people from the company proceeded to call me daily demanding payment in full. Tom their business manager tried to scare me into payment by saying he would call the sheriff, file mechanics liens, have their lawyer sue me unless I paid them immediately. KEEP IN MIND THERE IS STILL A HOLE IN THE GARAGE FULL OF WATER AND PILES OF DIRT TO BE BACKFILLED YET! WHY HAVEN'T THEY PUMPED IT OUT SO THEY CAN FINISH THE JOB??
I'll start by saying, Eli, the young man the company sent out to evaluate our issue (bubbling toilets, clogged main line) was incredibly kind and professional. He was also, unfortunately, wrong. IDK if the auger he brought with him wasn't enough to clear the blockage, or he just didn't know what he was seeing with his camera, but he told us we needed our entire main line replaced, to the tune of about $6000!!! (I will say in his defense that we don't have a clean out in our front yard, so he had to go through the vents on the roof. We'll handle that issue soon enough.) Called another company to get a second opinion the next day. Turns out it was roots in the pipe. A blockage that they cleared in less than an hour, for WAY LESS than six grand. Take this review with a grain of salt, but do yourself a favor, and ALWAYS get a second opinion on stuff like this. The second company that came out just saved me over 5k. Just saying.
