After working with several plumbers in town, we have been so pleased to find Sanders. They are reasonable in pricing, straightforward and helpful in their recommendations, kind and capable. We are grateful to have them!
I had a water leak the day before New Years Eve. The responder, the owner, and dispatch were all friendly and helpful. They gave me several options to repair the leak, explained thoroughly the differences, and were upfront about the cost. They admitted they may be more expensive than the competition but they guarantee the work and did an absolute professional and complete job. They say you get what you pay for, well I am thrilled with what I got in service and professionalism for the price. I had a complete line replacement from the road meter to my house.
Sanders really helped out a family member of mine. There was a very slow leak from a supply pipe dripping on the foundation for years. They did the repair quickly and for a really fair price. Her situation is 100% improved and we all have peace of mind now.
I have been paying a monthly membership rate for years. After I had the entire house replumbed -- or so I was told. After breaking open a wall, I found the company did not finish portions of the crawl space, they just covered the old pipe within insulation instead of pex. They also failed to complete the rest of the connections. Even though the wall was open and had complete access while the plumber apparently only connected shower and never replaced the old pipes. Instead of honoring their work and the payment, they have gone radio silent, after they asked for photos and sent someone to look at it. They've abandoned and said too much time has passed and have completely disregarded the membership that i've been paying for 4 years. Now they want to blame a guy that doesn't work there anymore.
Shame on them! Had a plugged sewer line from house to septic tank. Called Sanders and lady told me there would be a 49.99 just to come out, then the tech would let me know how much to clean the blockage. Silly me I thought it wouldn't be much for a 10 minute job. The lady said the tech would be at the house at 2:00..... Need less to say he showed up at 3. Then tells me the bill would be over 300.00 to remove the clog. I told him that was ridiculous and to leave. I then called the office and told them "Shame on them" She told me that they're prices were based on what they "knew", rather than by the hour. What they know is that there are a lot of desperate people out there who don't know their options. I went to Home Depot and rented a snake drain and in less than 15 minutes had the clog removed. My total price at Home depot was less than what they charged just to show up.
PREYING ON AN ELDERLY WIDOW: On 5/15/25 My 90 year old mother saw the Sanders Plumbing truck at the next door neighbors house and asked the technician to address a slowly filling toilet issue in her house. She was told to call the company so a work order could be placed and did so. The lady she spoke to on the phone for the work order told mom that she was eligible for a senior discount. The tech replaced the valve, flapper, and float in what was billed as "Standard Tank Rebuild" and charged her $435.43! When she asked about the senior discount, the tech said that he waived the service fee instead. However, he was already there, so no service fee was required. He did find and removed a piece of plastic debris in the supply line that he claimed came from the hot water heater?!? If mom had asked me to rebuild the toilet I would have spent $20-30 on a total rebuild kit. They charged over 14 times that amount for very little work and have done so in the past as evidenced by a prior Better Business Bureau complaint from June of 2023 (see below). "Shirley for Linda H Date: 06/06/2023 My elderly handicapped sister called Sanders plumbing to fix a commode that was continually running. They replaced the insides of the tank and charged her $465.99. I could not believe that a company would take advantage of someone like this. It is such a shame and I will be telling everyone I know not to use this company. Shame on you!!!!! I have to leave one star, but they don't deserve one!" I attempted to contact the service manager (Blake) 4 times over the next few weeks and he finally returned my call on 6/10/25. He stated that he didn't feel that she was taken advantage of and claimed that the code for Standard Tank Rebuild was the right cost. If they routinely charge $435 for a $30 repair excluding service fee they are ripping off the public. He offered a $50 credit for her next service call! Like we will EVER use this company again. One star is one too many.
Very unsatisfied with Sanders Plumbing policy concerning payment when they are not able to locate nor fix blockage. Brad spent four hours attempting to get a snake through pipes located under a bathroom and kitchen sink with no success. He removed a commode then tried the snake which accomplished nothing. A camera was tried next to locate the blockage with again no success. He was asked to go on the roof to insert the snake down the vent located there. He was unable to do this because of the weight of the equipment. A blockage had previously been fixed this way. He was asked to go on the roof upon arrival. Brad spent time on his phone and lots of time attempting to locate the camera which should have located the blockage. The house call cost $89.00. He charges $1000 to remove a commode and fix the blockage. Also, camera charge of several hundred dollars. Since they were not successful they discounted the charges to approximately $500. We called Cedar Bluff Plumbing the next morning. They arrived promptly and went down the vent on the roof. They successfully removed the wad of baby wipes within 90 minutes. Cost another $400. If a company says they can not fix the problem so you need to spend $3000 to $5000 to install a clean out entrance or lay all new piping, it feels like you are being taken advantage of. Brad was told to leave with unkind words and much anger. The clients are elders, living on a fixed budget, with large medical bills due to Alzheimer and terminal cancer. They are demanding payment and trusting companies as I do, I had signed paperwork prior to Brad beginning the work without reading nor asking the question "What is the cost if you can't fix it?" Shame on Sanders Plumbing for taking advantage of the elderly in this community.
⚠️ Would give 0 stars if possible. ⚠️ We had a garbage disposal that didn't work. The person came out, tightened 1 bolt with an Allen wrench and was done. Took about 4 minutes from door to door and the tightening of the bolt took seconds. The Bill was $350...Why? The service charge was only $95. So where did the rest of it come from? The owner of the company stated: "The worker drove 40 minutes one way...things are more expensive these days...our costs have doubled in the last 12 months". So beyond the service charge, the rest of the charge was around driving? I am in West Knox. Gas is $2.56/Gallon right now, what? Also the invoice only has a service fee and charge to repair, so the business contradicted themselves. I was charged before being sent the receipt, and forced to sign (a statement saying I was told prices before work was done) after paying the bill. I did not notice I was signing a statement saying prices were told to me before work was done (my eyes are bad). The company did not operate like they should in this situation, costs should be explained before work is done and they are due. Instead they did work first, told me the final price when it's due. To me this is scam behavior. Be very wary of this company, as you think you are just paying the service fee ($95) and the additional cost of the repair, but they will scam you badly with the final bill. This company used to be great (used them very recently), but something has changed very recently. If I were you I'd find a different company. Here are some much better ones: West Knox? Austin moved my refrigerator to the opposite wall in my kitchen. So I had to decide how to get the cold water line to my refrigerator. Austin was great! He gave me three options with cost as to what I could do. The frig was now on the side of the wall with my sink, so I had him replace single cold water cut off valve with a double valve and he ran the water line through my cabinets to the refrigerator. He attached a water line to connect to my frig, which gave me PLENTY of water line so I can pull my frig away from the wall for cleaning. While I had a window of time that the plumber would arrive, Austin called to let me know that he'd be there in about 45 minutes. Austin is very personable and knows what he's doing. He was willing to investigate options for me, was quick and thorough. When he was done, he checked to make sure all the connections were tight and not leaking. I have a contract with Sander's and I highly recommend them for so many reasons. Several years ago, they replaced my hot water heater and they come back annually and will flush it for me. The lady I talk to on the phone is also great too!! Thank you Austin and Sander's!!!!
I called Sanders Plumbing and they sent out a technician to find out why two toilets on the main floor of my house were not flushing. I was told that there was a blockage between the toilets and that it would cost $385 to unclog the drain and reset one toilet. When I asked him to check the clean out valve outside, he said that the problem was definitely inside the home. He also said he could not guarantee that this would fix the issue. Well, for $385 an no guarantee, I decided to get a second opinion. I called another reputable plumbing company who immediately checked the clean out valve, detected a root growing into the pipe OUTSIDE my home and even showed me a picture of the inside of the pipe and the root extracted. Since the tech from Sanders completely misdiagnosed the problem, I called to request my fee back and was told the owner would return my call. After another call to the owner, he, never bothered to return my call and cashed my check.
My annual plumbing inspection was performed by Brad. Brad thoroughly examined all my plumbing fixtures and pipes (house, garage, crawl space & outside spigots). He drained the hot water heater and inspected the hot water filter. He turn the sump pumps on in the crawl space to make sure they were still working. He looked at the dehumidifier filter and the dehumidifier water pump in the crawl space. He was also careful to wear coverings over his shoes when he came into the house. He inspected inside each toilet tank then turn on each shower and faucet. There is no charge for this annual inspection because we joined Sanders service program. Brad informed us about a new (salt free) filtering system that removes calcium which we are considering. Brad also informed me that if placed some fake dragonflies around they whould greatly reduce the bee and bug population. I plan on trying it! Brad is a 5*+ technician.
am currently stationed in the Marshall Islands but had work done at my home at XXX Fairmont Blvd, Knoxville. From what I understand my wife was charged $851 to replace two 4' pipes and a filter on the kitchen sink. In addition to the charges on 3/24/20, the water company contacted us due to the increase water usage on 3/28/20, between 3/24 and 3/28 from 250 gallons per month to 600 gallons in the 4 day period. When your service was contacted we were informed that it must be a leak between the meter and the house and you could check for an additional $2200. We contacted another plumber and he found the leak at the point your company replaced the pipes. When your serviceman came back out he informed my wife it would be an additional $483 to have the work redone correctly.
Sanders Plumbing has been an outstanding partner for my family. They are available when you need them no matter the time or day. The staff is friendly and very professional and knowledgeable. They keep all promises made and always looking for feedback for ongoing improvement. They promptly answered my call on the weekend and had an experienced plumber onsite within a couple of hours after checking on the issue They were onsite; diagnosed and replaced faulty valve . Plumber was outstanding and made sure everything was properly working as well as leaving work area immaculate. We have their maintenance program and promises made are promises kept. Great value for the money and great partner for piece of mind when it comes to our plumbing needs.
I had a clog from my basement toilet to the outside clean out drain . The toilet was already removed in bathroom . The technician came out for $79.00 service fee to tell me it will be over 600.00 to unclog my pipe . I told him that was absolutely a rip off & gave them a check & sent them on their way . It is sad that this company absolutely rips customers off . I will definitely spread the word at how expensive they are . My husband came home and spent 25.00 and clog is gone ! This company is the worst ever and obviously think they do something roto rooter can do for 1/2 price . I called roto rooter first & they had no appts the same day . I will never call this company again ! If I could give 0 stars I would !!
