Phenomenal job! The plumbing work needed in our home was extensive. Replacement of pipes and upgrading a system that was 100 years old. We needed work done that was well outside our ability. We wanted to add a bathroom in the basement and a laundry room where there wasn’t any. ‘WOW’ Salyer, made it happen. They were extremely knowledgeable and answered every question we had. The team of technicians that worked in our home were amazing. They had to dig and were in a small space but cleaned up daily their work area. We were so impressed by the quality of the work, time, and cost of this project. Thank you Salyer for your excellent service.

It’s hard to find a company that you’re impressed with, which is why I’m writing this review. First and foremost this is a family company, which has roots in the region for 100 years. How cool is that? Them being in business for that long tells you they’re doing something right. I called Salyer plumbing early this year as my water main broke. They came out that day to do an assessment. The person that came out was friendly, courteous, and empathetic. He told me to expect a call later that day, which I did. The owner called me and explained everything and sent over quotes. She was very understanding and answered every question I had. This meant the world to me as I’m a first time home owner and this was all new to me. The crew came out did a wonderful job without destroying my yard. Other companies wanted to dig out the yard while Salyer could do most of it with a small hole. I highly recommend this company. Support a local family owned business, you won’t regret it.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Do not call anyone else!!!!! They are amazing!! Such a stressful morning went to the basement and almost broke my neck when I slipped on the water that was quickly filling my basement. It sounded like a waterfall behind the wall! Terrifying!!! Cathy was extremely sweet and helpful on the phone, took care of EVERYTHING! They were at my house in literally like 5 mins! I’m not from here and so I have no experience with any companies. After frantically calling other places and they were all unable/unwilling to help until the next day… I thankfully found Salyer to the rescue!! The two magician plumbers Jake & Rob were amazing and fast!! And put my mind at ease!!! Literally thank God for Salyer.

I would have given a zero but not an option. I have used Salyer many times over the years. I was transferred by a gentleman to a scheduler. The woman that answered told me she was on a chat laughing and slurping a beverage. Very unprofessional and did not call me back until this morning. Sadly, Salyer this one interaction spoke volumes of your customer service representative. Same woman called me today to schedule. Already found someone else.

Will not take reeponsibility for breaking off their snake in my pipe. Had to pay them 350 for snake job that was not needed..maintenance..They used tooo big a snake..couldn't get it out..do they cut it at 6 lengths...so as of this writing they told me bug off they were not gonna fix it for free...but they were bonded and insured for things like this..we thought...nope...our homeowners won't cover it...no lawyer will sue...I will be out little under 10 gs to gave it fixed....female there actually....nothing WE CAN DO ABOUT MAKING THEM PAY OR FIX IT...so beware you don't get a real idiot from Salyers to put oversized tools in your pipes...to top this off...Kathy salyer Is an acquaintance of mine who we became friends until she found out information from me she wanted...then quit talking to me...if I knew My husband called her for a job..I would not have allowed that sneaky user to be hired.....WATCH OUT FOR SALYER....HOPE DONT HAPPEN TO YOU....THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR REPUTATION .......JR

These people are HORRIBLE! I truly can't express this enough. I have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about. Our outside line froze up 2 weeks ago. We had a hard time finding a plumber that would offer the thawing service, and we finally found Salyer. They seemed like the only company that could possibly help us so although we balked at the $500/hr price we were quoted, we had no choice but to accept it. They were scheduled to come to our house on Monday, but we were not given a window of time, so I made sure to be home all day. The morning, and afternoon came and went and we hadn't heard from them. I called them in the late afternoon and it seemed they had "forgotten" about us. They finally made it to our property on Tuesday. They stayed for about 45 minutes, and didn't unload any equipment off of their truck. They said they encountered a problem and had to wait for someone from Public Works to show up. At this point, I should mention that we got Salyer's recommendation FROM Public Works. That guy showed up, suggested that Salyer dig in our yard or the street, and then they left, and said they would be sending out a sight surveyor in the next couple days to give us an official quote for the work. I don't know how they came to the decision that they would have to dig. They didn't attempt to use their thaw machine, or really anything else. They just stood around and smoked cigarettes, and then left. We were never contacted ever again. I called their office several times and the woman who answers the phone always seems inconvenienced to talk to me. Her favorite quote is, "I'm just trying to get my head screwed on straight, OKAY??". I'm sorry I'm bothering you with my desire to PAY YOU $500 AN HOUR. Our insurance adjuster had called them as well, and never received any response from them. They have been all-around horrible people to deal with. If you need an outside line thawed, I highly recommend Mobile Welding out of Gary, Indiana. They have been MORE than willing to help us, and they only charged us $150!

I own a property in Hammond, its a rental, they were here in the past to unclog a reoccurring plugged drain. I called to set up an appointment, the person whom I spoke to, "Lisa" claimed she would call me back with an appointment time. I took off school, waited all day for her to call me back. I finally called them back. They sent over a guy who was not familiar with the particulars regarding my property although I had reminded Lisa during my first call. The only reason I called them was they were okay in the past and did the job, but they had no record of my property and the only reason I allowed them back was Lisa remembered me, but didn't inform the plumber. Because he was uninformed, it took longer than an hour and a half to break a five foot back clog that would of been ten minutes. And although, they kept me waiting all day, and didn't keep my info on file, and have had business from my family in the past, fest it appropriate to charge me the entire hour and a half. two hundred and five dollars. When I brought this to Lisa's attention, she got rude and defensive, Stating " I am not just a receptionist and I am an owner of this company" she went on to say "the bill is what it is", asking me simply, Did the plumber do a bad job? " which based on the info given him, he personally did not. But The clerical people cost me a day of school because they don't know how to schedule an appointment and an extra 55 dollars labor because they don't know how to save information in their computer. Because I am not a scum bag, I paid the two o five, but over 55.00 dollars and the bad attitude, they will never work on my properties again

I had, to say the least, some big time, major plumbing issues. So big in nature only a few co's could do it. I stayed up worrying about the cost and outcome. My wife says who better knows the quality and affordability of a Plumbing Co then the City of Hammond Indiana. So I stopped at City hall and asked. They highly recommend and use Salyer. Now these are the guys that inspect the work of licensed contractors. Wow what a great reference. So I Called Salyer, they came checked out my problem, did the work fast and efficiently at a price that was very affordable, I was so very happy and relieved. Salyer is a women owned business and they add that touch of family to their work. Can't say enough good things about Salyer. As far as a couple bad reviews, in life stuff happens and everyone can't be satisfied all of the time, but I sure was and so will you.

Salyer was a referral from the previous plumbing company we used, as their staff was booked. We were watching the water coming up in the basement and were worried it would overflow, given it would rain the next few days. Their receptionist Karen was very friendly and helpful and contacted me back with a plumber who showed up within a half hour. Sam was very knowledgeable and taught me about sump pumps. He figured out one of our sump pumps, that no plumber has ever looked at, was dead so he replaced it and the water started going down. He said if we still needed our outside drain tile routed, we could make an appointment and they would come back out. We will use them again for our other plumbing needs. I highly recommend Salyer for quality work and peace of mind!

Be sure to ask if they are sending a licensed plumber to your home. They charge licensed plumber prices but may send an apprentice, alone. I agreed to their pricing, expecting a plumber. Came out quickly, but sent an apprentice alone. Sump pump was bubbling up in floor drain of crawl space. 5 hours of looking for the problem, there was no answer. $850. Had them back out to install back flow valve to stop water from coming up in drain, another $650 and alone apprentice. I have nothing against apprentices, they have to learn, but should be working with a licensed plumber in person. After $1500, hope the problem is solved. The apprentice was very respectful.

I discovered areas of water in our basement and thought it was our hot water tank that died but it turned out it was our sump pump. After calling around from referrals I was given, we landed upon Salyer plumbing. They came through where others couldn't come through that day. Salyer arrived within the hour and sent us the most capable, knowledgeable and neat appearing young man to take care of the job. He represented the company very well and we were pleased that he got us up and running with a new, efficient and quieter sump pump so expeditiously. Let the professionals do what they do best. I highly recommend Salyer plumbing! Highly recommended!

My sump pump and battery backup pumps both failed. It was discovered both pumps worked but could not discharge the water. Three hard working Salyer employees with lots of equipment dug up the yard, discovered a broken pipe and replaced it. Using a camera, a large pocket of sand was also found, so they flushed it out & the pumps began working. They kindly covered the ground, brought in black dirt & seeded it! They also thoroughly cleaned the area in the basement where the pumps are located! It was a scary situation but Salyer came out quickly, worked hard and solved the problem. I highly recommend these professionals, including their owners/office staff.

I can not thank Salyer plumbing enough for always being a very professional, trustworthy and reliable company to do business with. I have had them work on multiple plumbing needs within my home over the years and they never disappoint. They are very good people and they genuinely care about you as a customer. I am beyond thankful to have found them and consider them my plumbers that I will always call for my plumbing needs because of their customer satisfaction with their work and fair costs. Thank you Lisa and your entire staff...you guys are awesome!!!!

This company has always provided a good service. Last friday I slipped in the shower and tore off my shower cartridge. Luckily I wasn't injured. Salyer plumbing come out that day and made the repair so I could turn the water back on. I was alone, on my back in the tub, on/off handle in my hand, water shooting out the broken cartridge and Salyer turned a bad day into a sunshiney day!!

They are GREAT!! We’ve needed them to come out several times and every time they have fixed the problem. Professional, expert plumbers and kind office staff - we only use Salyer and now our neighbor does, too. We don’t love having to need a plumber, but they make a bad experience so much better!
