If you are looking for a company that is affordable, great service, and can take care of things fast, Salt City Plumbing is it! I have tried a few plumbing companies and most of them tries to upsell you on things you don't need and prices that cost an arm and a leg. Tre at Salt City Plumbing was awesome! He arrives promptly and gave us a solution that cost a lot less than the other companies and got things done for us the same day. We would recommend this company and Tre to anyone.

These guys deserve all five stars. They are down to earth, no bullshit, efficient, and affordable. This is old school attention to detail and customer service that you don't see anymore. I have an old house with it's fair amount of plumbing drama and these guys, Josh especially, have sorted it out without selling me on a bunch of upgrades and extras I don't need, which means I call them when new issues arise because I trust them. My house was built in the 40's, something new always comes up. The owner has been out for projects and is just as professional and straight forward as his employees. As a homeowner who isn't handy having a company I can trust to get here, get the work done, not try to fleece me, and stand by their product/service is priceless. You can shop around and get all the bids you want, you're not going to beat these guys on getting the job done. They get my business every time and they have earned

This is from a service done on Monday, Jan 5, 2026: Today was my first time working with Salt City Plumbing. Got an appt set up for tomorrow to come do a FREE estimate to repair gas pipe leaks. They called me back shortly saying they had a cancellation, a technician would be out between 3 and 5!! 🥳 Tommy showed up early at 2:15 🤩! Tommy looked over the issue with me gave me 3 very reasonable quotes and got right to work. He fixed the pipes quickly and ended up not needing to replace a gas valve that another company was ready to charge me for. It’s so nice to want to cry tears of joy rather than tears of frustration. We got astronomically ripped off by another company this weekend for a similar repair needed on our other boiler…which we were charged LITERALLY 4X the price of what Salt City Plumbing charged (and did a better job). Got our heat and hot water restored to our second building after it being off since Friday night. Crying tears of joy 😭🥰 Thank you so much Tommy and Salt City Plumbing!! I also took a good look at their newest reviews before Tommy arrived…. you have to scroll a LONG WAY to even find a 4 star review. THIS BUSINESS IS AMAZING!! 🙌 Happy employees and happy customers!!! Also, shoutout to Shae for coming over to look over our boilers and give us estimates for future work! Very knowledgeable and professional!

Contacted the company for the quote on swapping the water heater that is literally next to one another. Provided the pictures and asked how much for the response $900-$1500. Reached out to other plumbers of off the KSL as most people do now days. Got estimates from $250-$500most the time same process sent the picture explained what needs to be done and that was it. I expressed my concern that their estimates are the highest ones in the SL County got a massage from the owner that is not true and his price is in line with others... that is insane for 2-3 hrs tops of work you would pay$1500... who's hourly rate is that now days? Surgeons, government employees, anyone??? No one's that is insane. Oh yeah then he tried calling me and sent me a nice message that I'll post on her...By the way owner...I did not harass your people I responded on your add asking for an estimate if you don't like questions etc.you should remove your add...

UPDATE - response to owner's response: I can't say I'm surprised at this response from Paul after talking to him on the phone. He gave me a phone call recently to "get my perspective about my review". I spoke to him for 20 minutes and answered all his questions honestly and respectfully. However, it's clear now his intent when making the call was to find ways to twist what happened in a way where his company and team are RIGHT and I am WRONG. I'll give some additional clarity based on his response. The job was an basement egress drain that was clogged. I interacted with a plumber named Christian. I was told they needed to break the concrete and install a new system if they couldn't unclog the drain. I was told that $1200 was the estimate for the work. It seemed steep to me, but I considered they were factoring in breaking the concrete to get to the drain. No, I was not "told several times that $1200 was a best case scenario", that is a lie. I did ask several times what could go wrong with the job though, and all times Christian said he would just "abandon" the existing system and install the new one if they couldn't unclog the drain. No mention or implication that if that were the case the costs could go as high as 400% more. It was only AFTER Christian had already made a hole in the concrete of my tenants' unit and broken off the pipe (which was clogged but not broken) that he mentioned it would now cost $4800 to do the job and they needed to hire a sub that had a $70,000 excavator to do the job. This feels like deception. They hook you in with a low bid and then after doing some demolition suddenly it's not $1200 anymore, now it's $4800, but now you have a hole in your concrete and a broken pipe and the issue is more urgent. The following day, the sub had hired another sub, no $70,000 excavator, just two guys, a concrete drill, some gravel, and a small dump hitch. By the way, I understand that $1200 is an estimate, I'm not unreasonable, but any contractor that gives you a wildly wrong estimate (400% difference) is BAD news. It's incompetent enough to give bad estimates, in any field. It's worse to give estimates that are 400% off. It's also interesting how Paul makes no mention of the lies I was told. Here are the lies: - 5-10ft of digging and gravel promised, only 3ft (if that) of digging and gravel delivered. - Mesh covering perforated pipe promised, only perforated pipe delivered, no mesh. - $70,000 excavator will be needed, nevermind they just need a home depot concrete drill rental and a bucket. I think the mention of the $70,000 excavator was just Christian's way of exaggerating the complexity of the work to justify the 400% increase in price, I don't agree that the scale of the work was 400% more. I only found out about the lies outlined above because I physically went to the worksite and saw the work being done and asked questions. Imagine if I had not been there and just "trusted" them? I'd be thinking right now that my system is 5 - 10ft deep, covered in mesh, and so complex they had to use a $70,000 excavator! The craftsmanship was okay, nothing extraordinary, and all the work (not just demo as Paul suggests) was done completely by a company called FLC Construction LLC, not Salt City Plumbing or their sub. Paul is also touts "16 years of market research" in his response and in another review yet his 16 years of market research cannot enable him and his team to give a reasonable estimate that isn't 400% off? Embarrassing. Furthermore, very weird to say I "went through the trouble of having them finance me", it wasn't much trouble at all and Salt City Plumbing didn't do anything there but send invoices and agree to work with Green Sky. What Salt City Plumbing spends on their agreement with Green Sky is not my concern, that is the cost of doing business. Regarding pricing, I mentioned earlier that the cost was not the main issue. The issue was feeling decieved and taken advantage of. $4800 seems like a lot for the work they did, I stand by that. One final thing, and something I will agree with Paul on is the part about buyer's remorse - it's true, and that's not a good thing for Salt City Plumbing. UPDATE #2: Attached are the images of the estimates, first $1200, then $1080. AFTER I EXPLICITLY asked for the the 10% off. UPDATE #3: I used the word "system" and "drain" interchangeably. The french drain, is the drain. The estimate was not for fixing a pipe only or breaking "a little concrete" as he suggests. He said so himself, the existing FRENCH DRAIN was not working properly, so the estimate was for replacing the FRENCH DRAIN aka the existing "floor drain". Which is what they did, but for 400% more than the original estimate. I was unhappy about this and I expressed my frustration and unhappiness to Christian in person, but I moved forward despite the outrageously bad estimate because I didn't want to deal with the issue any longer.

June 2025: Our 1986 Heil AC unit finally sang its swan song during the recent mini heat wave. As outside temps went up to 90° F, inside temps went up to 81° F. I immediately called Salt City Plumbing for an AC quote. Tommy was on site within a few days and offered quotes on four different AC options based on our conversations about the most energy efficient units that could reduce humidity and maintain temps. We went with a Carrier variable compressor with a heat pump and scheduled the closest install date, which was one week later. The install took the entire day and then some, but Tommy provided exemplary service and explanations on how to get the most out of our Ecobee-enabled system. Thank you Salt City Plumbing. ---- April 2025: Tommy, with Salt City Plumbing, gave our old Carrier furnace the tune-up it needed to run well enough for the next few years. He also replaced and moved a length of corroded copper pipe in our basement to fix a leak and make sure we had a little more head space. We also walked the property to make sure we knew where the water shut-off valves were located in case of emergency. Thank you Salt City Plumbing for the continued excellent service! --- January 2025: My husband and I now own a 1898 Victorian-era house, and we knew some key upgrades were needed before our foundation repair. Luckily, Salt City Plumbing was a pleasure to work with. Shea spent the first day of installation in our basement: + Moving our furnace intake and venting + Moving metal air ducts + Enlarging and moving our gas lines + Moving a water line + Running a new gas line for a future gas fireplace He was also very communicative and involved us with on-site decisions like the location of the lines and venting. On the second day, Shea installed a new tankless water heater and water softener. He also hauled out our giant tank water heater. He made sure to explain the required maintenance for both machines and left us the salt bag wrapper, so we'd know which type to use on the softener. My husband and I highly recommend Salt City Plumbing to anyone looking for a reliable company who focuses on finding solutions for your needs and not upselling anything you don't need.

Salt City Plumbing is absolutely fantastic! DJ came out and handled several plumbing projects for us over the course of a few hours, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. He is incredibly knowledgeable—not just about plumbing best practices and code, but also about how to properly use and care for different fixtures. He even took the time to share his knowledge with us. I really appreciated how upfront and honest he was about what needed to be done—and what didn’t. One of our biggest concerns was a jetted tub that had been leaking. We were bracing ourselves for a full replacement, which would have meant tearing out tile and a huge expense. Instead, DJ carefully investigated, found the least invasive access point, and discovered a solution. He not only fixed the tub leak but also caught and repaired another small leak in the main drain while he was at it. It was amazing! On top of that, he worked late to make sure all the other plumbing jobs—from replacing a water heater to resetting a toilet, installing a kitchen faucet, and fixing a tub diverter—were completed. His workmanship, honesty, and dedication really stood out. And Salt City Plumbing was much more affordable than other quotes we received. We’re so grateful for DJ’s work and will absolutely be using Salt City Plumbing again. Highly recommend!

I wanted to upgrade my sewer ejector system. This was a big project as it involved installing a larger basin, two sewer ejector pumps with an alarm system in the event of a pump failure. It also required an electrician to help with the wiring requirements. Where I live, the sewer line to the street isn't in the ground as deep as most residential areas. This causes a problem when it comes to homes with basements and requires a non-standard setup. Salt City Plumbing didn't shy away from the project due to it's complexity or uniqueness. The project experienced a few minor hiccups like most home projects do. Salt City Plumbing managed the hiccups and the project well. I didn't need to find an electrician. Salt City Plumbing assisted with that task. The staff was polite and professional. I asked a LOT of questions during the process. They were very kind and patient with me. They educated me on my new system and setup. The owners of Salt City Plumbing kept me well informed as the project progressed. Often they were on-site working to ensure that my new system worked perfectly. My new system does work very well. I am very pleased with the service I received and my upgraded sewer ejector system. Thank you to all the staff at Salt City Plumbing.

I needed a boiler looked at in my old house. When I searched on yelp for boiler repair this company showed up so I scheduled an appointment. They charged $275 to come out and find the problem. The problem was that the valve on the boiler had a leak so I asked them if they would replace the valve and they said they couldn't get one. I thought that was strange since according to my searching they knew how to deal with boilers. It took me a few days to finally get a picture from the technician of what part of the boiler was the valve. I did a Google search and found one right away on eBay. When I called them back to ask them if they would please replace the leaking valve with the one I found on eBay they recommended I contact another plumbing company which I am now going with. The new company charged nothing to come out and take a look to find the problem. I feel I got cheated out of $275. I think I'm most frustrated because I actually tried to keep working with them but they clearly had no interest.

5 Stars Josh and his team at Salt City Plumbing is absolutely top-notch! We recently had a wide range of plumbing work done—from a major excavation to repair our main water line to the installation of a water conditioner, a new modern toilet, and outdoor waterline hookups. Every single job was completed with incredible care, professionalism, and expertise. Their communication was outstanding. They kept us updated throughout the process, arrived exactly when they said they would, and were always quick to respond to questions. The entire team was hardworking, knowledgeable, and respectful of our property. Most importantly, Salt City Plumbing is 100% trustworthy. It’s rare to find a company that combines technical skill with integrity, and they exceeded our expectations in every way. We’re so grateful for their service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. A truly exceptional experience!

As both a homeowner and renter, I've seen my share of plumbers -- everything from leaky faucets to replacing entire sewer lines and remodels. Payton and Devin showed up promptly, scheduling was easy, and were instantly cordial and professional. They took great care to put on the boot liners as to not muck up the floors. They were curious, asked questions to diagnose the issue (sewer gas coming from shower drain), were able to infer the problem based on great communication skills and competency. The most impressive part of their visit is that he remembers details from 2 months ago about a single, rather unremarkable visit without having any communication in that time frame as a reminder. As a member of our military, he clearly understands conscientiousness and attention to detail.

Christian was fantastic at explaining the options we had for our AC replacement! He was personable and wanted to make sure it fit within our budget while giving us the best efficiency possible. We found an option that would work for our situation and met our budget. Within 48 hours Tommy arrived. When I say this man is meticulous, it’s an understatement. Our mechanical room is cleaner than I have seen it in years. The install was flawless and looks even better than the previous system. He took the time to ensure the condenser was level and on a new pad while also sealing every joint around the new coil. I really couldn’t be happier with the services provided and would 100% recommend them to anyone in need of help with their heating and air conditioning.

Our sink has had a slow-flow clog for some time, and I thought I could just handle it with some Drain-O. Nope! Went googling and found these guys, and they just so happened to be close to the house. Very pleased I went with them! I wasn't in a rush and they got us on the schedule in 2 days, they fixed one drain AND a different one that I originally just wanted a quote on but said it'd cost just the same to do this basement one as the upstairs bathroom one, *and* they gave us a sweet first timer discount. The plumber himself was super professional, fast, thorough (cleaned up after all that black sludge from the deep drain clear), and answered any questions my partner and I had. We'll be using SCP again in the future!

5 Stars: AJ is a Legend! I had a drain issue that turned out to be more complicated than the original low quote suggested. I actually felt bad and told AJ I’d understand if he just got it "good enough" and headed out. Instead, he said: "Whether you paid $100 or $100,000, I’ve got a job to do and I’m not leaving until I’ve done it!" This makes them my new all-time favorite plumber: Integrity: He stuck to his word even when the job got tough. Tenacity: He didn't stop until the drain was clear. Attitude: Super professional and helpful and communicative It is rare to find someone with that level of commitment these days. I’m incredibly grateful for the hard work—Salt City Plumbing has a fan for life!

I am so relieved and happy that I called these guys! Im so reluctant when having to deal with home repair companies because I've been burned in the past and it's hard finding anyone trustworthy. From the first moment Jake walked through my home I felt at ease! He explained everything he was going to do, was very professional, and paid attention to details, fixing other issues I didn't even know i had.. it was a lengthy list of things and no easy task! Jake and Josh came over and knocked it all out in one day making sure my family wouldn't be without before the weekend hit. I'm just so grateful to those two! I will definitely be using this company again for all my plumbing issues in the future!
