We had Roto-Rooter out to clear out an exterior drain line from the sump pump. Jaime and Yousef were terrific. They explained the process and were quick and efficient. They very kindly tolerated my questions about what they cleared out of the line and how to prevent this in the future. This was a wonderful experience.
Jamie Moreno with Roto-Rooter did a phenomenal job! He was extremely professional and took the time to clearly explain where the problem was, why the leak occurred in the first place, and what needed to be done to fix it. He completed all the repairs quickly and efficiently. I especially appreciated that he took and shared pictures before and after the work, walking me through everything so I fully understood the situation. At no point did I feel pressured into unnecessary repairs — his honesty and transparency were truly reassuring. In addition to fixing the issue, Jamie offered helpful recommendations on what to watch for in the future, which we greatly appreciated. We are very pleased with the work he did — 5 stars all around! While we hope we won’t need plumbing services again anytime soon, if we do, I sincerely hope Jamie is the one who comes out to help us. Attaching before and after pictures for reference.
The gentleman that came today, Jamie Marino did an outstanding job. He was professional. He left everything clean after the repair was done. I would definitely recommend him again and your services. You all did an outstanding job of fixing the toilet the sink and now we have working items and running water. Thank you again.
My kitchen sink was stopped up. I called Roto-Rooter. What a mistake. They quoted me $689. Most people charge $125-$200. It was the day before Thanksgiving so I was desperate. I bargained down $575. No bargain.
Watch out! RR is the Silver Spring area employs a nasty pricing ethic. We had a clogged drain and it happened at 9PM. Called Rooter Rooter believing they had the staff to come in an emergency. They would not quote a price for a drain clean over the phone. Siad the plumber would assess and talk when they came out. Seemed reasonable. After 3 minutes of assessment, he quoted $1,450. As it was an emergency situation and we had 2 small children we agreed. Sort of "gun to the head" situation. We could not use sinks, showers, etc... They justifed the cost by adding on a mandatory camera inspection after it was cleared. In other words, the $1,450 was for both servoces whereas we only wanted the clearing only. They would not clear the drain if we refused the camera inspection. After 30 minutes, the drain was cleared, they were paid and we felt robbed. I will repeat, at 9PM, we felt we had no choice. Just BEWARE! Call someone else.
As bad as it was to have to call in Roto Rooter for our waste line blockage, the conduct of all the personnel involved has been very good, starting with the initial visit to clear the line, the diagnosis by camera probe showing the crack in the waste pipe just outside our foundation with intrusion of roots that blocked half the diameter of the pipe, and the crew that performed the work: 3 on the excavation crew plus a second plumber brought in for the final water supply connection, a “jetter” that blew out the waste line with his own water in tow after that line was connected (before our water supply was reconnected.) Now, in the aftermath, follow up with the excavation manager is a continuing process into next week to make sure all will be satisfactory. The crew arrived as scheduled to excavate the area in front of the foundation and replace the waste line and clean out standpipe. Unfortunately, the water supply line was broken during excavation (honestly, the utility company did not mark the pipe’s diagonal path line from the main at the curb to the house, and from what I understand it is not uncommon to destroy a water supply line in this kind of job). The crew worked in horrible conditions for both weather, mud, and environmentally. There were several unforeseen situations that caused delays but they got the job done. If it wasn’t for the excellent communications and empathetic way of conduct on the part of the crew foreman we would have had a terrible time. We understood what the issues were at each step of the way and that went a long way to lessening the stress. The plumber in the crew also went out of his way to advise us on what he was doing and answered every “plumbing” inquiry I had about the house in general (we’ve only moved in 6 months ago and have had more problems in this time than we had in the entire period of 26 years of ownership with our old home in northern NJ). No comment on the cost…. But the service was prompt and I have to wonder if I would have been able to get comparable service and equipment in the time Roto Rooter had that got the job done. I’m thinking that this is one of the times that “big plumbing” is worthwhile!
I just wanted to start by saying this is probably the most high quality company. I have six children so drain getting clogged and getting stuck in drains that shouldn't be. There is a continuous issue. I received some services in December and I was ecstatic because the knowledge & professionalism the care to detail the safety. I felt of the employees while they were in my home with my children was unmatched I was extremely comfortable. They were so informative and so helpful. I highly recommend This roto rooters. unfortunately This evening I noticed there was a clog very disgusting and I could not get the toilet to flush properly. I had to manually empty it. I believe my four year old may have tried to flush something that doesn't belong in the toilet. I called Roto-Rooter because of the perfect services I had received from them before and I was so disrespectful and emotionally immature and just trauma dumping and high stressed. roto rooter's beautiful employee, Lanika calmed me down, she was listening to me, she was so patient with me, she was knowledgabLe and informative . She was informing me on all the details on how to prevent further damages and she was just so understanding and compassionate that it literally made me feel better about my horrible situation. I know this is a great company I'm so greatful Lanika expedited my appointment . And I also spoke to the manager Dwayne, who was also very comforting, informative his and Lanika's problem solving advice & great customer service really is a game changer in aiding to the prevention of me freaking out about the situation. I highly recommend this company- don't forget ask for Lanika . - Thank you
Jaime Moreno did an excellent job repairing our toilet. One of the exterior pipes to the toilet had a leak, which was causing water to seep through the ceiling onto the first floor below. He was able to replace the pipe very quickly with parts he had in his truck. While he was here he discovered another issue with a part inside the toilet tank. The toilet was filling up very slowly. He had a replacement part for that in his truck too so he replaced it right away. Jaime was very polite, patient, pleasant to work with, professional, and he explained everything thoroughly so we understood what the plumbing issues were. He guaranteed the work for 1 year, which is also great. The toilet leak we had was discovered unexpectedly and he came out the same day to fix it for us, which was exceptional!
If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this company and any franchises unless you are desperate for an emergency plumber. Roto Rooter charges a FLAT FEE of $729.00 to snake an exterior drain. The work could take 10 minutes or 2 hours, but this is the fee. The problem is that Roto Rooter does not tell you there is a flat fee up front, and when I inquired twice about the fee when booking the appointment, I was told the technician would give me the price on the job. I realize it was my mistake for trusting that the fee would be within the typical realm of other plumbing fees, BUT IF ROTO ROOTER CHARGES A FLAT FEE FOR SERVICES, THEN WHY NOT TELL THE CUSTOMER THIS? This is a dishonest practice for a substandard plumbing franchise.
I scheduled a home visit for diagnosis and if necessary replacement of my Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) for my Main Water at my home. Jamie Moreno was the Technician from Roto Rooter and he diagnosed my PRV and did some small adjustments to set it right. Immediate replacement was not necessary. And my cost was zero. I must confess that in today’s world, such honesty is seldom seen and I sincerely appreciate Jamie Moreno moral and professional practice. I highly-highly recommend Jamie and Roto Rooter for all your Water and plumbing related issues. Once again - Thank you Jamie and I wish you well. All the best!
STAY AWAY from this company. My elderly mother called Roto-Rooter for a clogged kitchen sink. When she asked for a rough estimate, they told her they couldn't provide her one. They came out and unclogged the sink within an hour and charged her $900!! That was also supposed to include an elderly discount. It is completely unethical how they take advantage of people. My mother called to complain but the lady on the phone was extremely rude to my mother. The lady said she would reach out to the manger who never called her back. I plan to report this company as well.
I had a great experience with Roto-Rooter. Shams, the technician, arrived on time, was very professional, and took the time to clearly explain the issue and the work that needed to be done. The job was completed efficiently and thoroughly, and everything is working perfectly now. While the service was not cheap, the price was reasonable for the quality, expertise, and peace of mind provided. I really appreciated Shams’ honesty and professionalism and would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone needing reliable plumbing service.
We had Jaime moreno and his apprentice from the Roto Rooter team did a great job with our repair. Our issue was the we had a high water usage detected by the local water company. Jaime and his apprentice diagnosed that the main water shut off valve and pressure regulator valve needed to be replaced. It didn’t solve the main issue of why our main water line was still running, but the workmanship excellent. We also had our water heater flushed and it needed it as Jaime noted by the sediment build up. Thanks for the great work guys!!
Jaime Moreno was wonderful. He showed up promptly on top and explained the issue of why my sump battery alarm was going off and even tested both outlets it’s was plugged into to make sure the electrical was all working. Showed me the age of sump pump to explain that the acid leaking from my battery was likely the cause and we needed to replace it. He was super friendly got fixed the issue quickly. Highly recommend him and Roto-Rooter as they have always worked with me in the past and kept things honest.
We had a stubborn floor drain in our appliance room that was semi clogged which wanted to flood every time we did a load of laundry. RR came same day and right at the start time of the two hour window the gave me (since when does that happen??) Jaime Moreno was efficient and helpful in the hour he was here working in it. Glad to have my washing machine back in full working order, thanks to RR! It was pricey but we had gotten a similar quote from another vendor, so we went with RR for the free warranty.
