Tony was excellent. He gave great customer service, he was personable, and got the job done quick. I am extremely appreciative of the work that was done in my home. I also had 2 toilets which is difficult to rod and Tony got it on the first try. Amazing work. 10/10 would highly recommend. Please REQUEST TONY
Hussein did the work for me. I cannot express how awesome he did. I had a flood happen due to my sump pump failing and not only did he replace it for me, he taught me how it worked and showed me what different parts were for. He also took the time to diagnose another quick issue for me and teach me a few more plumbing things. The service was overpriced but, they worked with me on it. I cannot express how thankful I am for Hussein and his work. Thank you so much Hussein!
Exceptional first-class work and service. Roto-Rooter scheduling had a representative at my house within an hour of my initial call for help. Teddy my tech was incredibly courteous, knowledgeable and had a great work ethic. Thanks Roto-Rooter Evanston.
This company ruthlessly stripped us of our savings. We called them to unplug a drain and run abatment on our basement after 2 inches of groundwater got in. We were under the impression insurance would cover it. When we were denied coverage, Roto Rooter demanded $24,000 from our pockets and threatened to put a lien on our home if it was not paid with in 2 months. There are far more sketchy details here. But the bottom line is this billion dollar company represents everything that's wrong with a capitalistic society. Don't trust them. They are awful.
I repeatedly confirmed (four separate times) that they would be able to inspect my house and identify what needed repair. Despite those assurances, they gave me a window of time they would arrived. Five hours after the window concluded without anyone showing up. They then called to say they couldn’t perform the service at all without offering any explanation. Completely unprofessional and shockingly disorganized. Total waste of time. Would never recommend to anyone
Sean was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Not only was he incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, but his level of knowledge and professionalism really stood out. He took the time to clearly explain what was going on with the clog, walked me through the solution, and made sure everything was handled thoroughly and efficiently. It’s not every day you come across someone who genuinely cares about doing a great job, but Sean definitely does. I truly appreciate him coming out and helping on such short notice—especially with something as frustrating as a clog. He made a stressful situation feel completely manageable, and his positive attitude made the whole experience that much better. The work was done quickly, cleanly, and with attention to detail, which gave me a lot of confidence in the results. Overall, I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service. Sean went above and beyond, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of a reliable, skilled, and genuinely great plumber.
My experience with my service technician, Jonathan, made the price paid ($500 with online coupon, $750 without) to unclog the shower drain, much less painful. Jonathan was thoroughly friendly, courteous, polite, knowledgeable, and skilled at the task. Don't get me wrong, paying $500 to open up a drain that was 100% blocked with 50 years' accumulation of hair works out to $10 per year, or 2.7 cents per day. I only wish I had put a jar on the bathroom counter and tossed in a nickel every day! Lol. Seriously though, Jonathan was very careful and considerate of his surroundings, using shoe covers and cleaning up afterwards. I am fully confident that the pipes are now completely hair-free. I just remind myself that in life, "you get what you pay for." $500 may seem like a lot of money, but I know I could not have done the job and I have the peace of mind knowing that the job was done professionally. Roto-Rooter gets a double thumbs up from me!! Thank you Jonathan, and thank you Roto-Rooter!!!
The first technician, David, literally walked downstairs to about five feet in front of my covered sump pump, threw up his hands and said I definitely needed a new one and it would be at least $1200. I reluctantly paid the $98 service call fee just to get him out of the house. I called to request a new plumber to be sent out to actually inspect my sump pump. The next person you sent out, Karim, actually inspected the sump pump and walked me through the issue. But when my wife asked him what was wrong and how he could tell he was dismissive and told her he knew because he was a plumber. He was very rude to treat my wife with so little respect and if that was blatantly sexist of him enough he then went on to state that he would only talk to me "man to man". I was truly shocked but his complete lack of decency and blatant sexist behavior. I've always thought of Roto-Rooter as a professional and upstanding company. After today all that has changed irreparably.
We called Roto Rooter to replace a leaking P Trap on the bathroom sink. They send a guy out and charge us a mandatory $100 fee for telling us what is wrong with it and he gives an estimate to replace this little piece of pipe, a whopping $648.00. We write an email asking for a detailed quote on parts and labor and receive a email back stating the following: We Spoke to the technician. There is no quote for additional repairs. The pipe is rusted because the sink is not used normally. He advised to flush the sink by running the water more often. No proposal or quote will be provided. Regards, KC Cooke Commercial Team Roto-Rooter Services Company 1-800-438-7686 I have both the quote that we paid $100.00 for and the email reply.. Unfortunately there is no way to attach it, so you can not see it for yourself. Do not bother calling this company. Get a real plumber - a reputable neighborhood company.. Non big corporate!
Was just quoted 800 dollars to do a kitchen sink clean out and 800 dollars to replace the p-traps under the sink because they were metal and rotting out. The technician was kind enough to offer me a 600 dollar discount after I complained about the price. So nice! I then called the office and asked how they can charge such a high price for a F'ing drain cleanout. They said they don't do prices. Only techs do. Apparently the office has no control over what their own employees charge. What a great way to run a business. No accountability. These are insanely predatory prices. I called a local plumber, he charged 200 for the whole thing. I used roto-rooter before for several multi-unit properties. Not calling them again after this. DO NOT LET ELDERLY PEOPLE CALL THEM. They will fall for these ridiculous prices.
The Guy comes late to the 2 hour window It's a sewage backup with toilet backed up & shower flooded with toilet... Matter First thing guy does is flush the toilet without lifting the lid. Immediately overflows the toilet because genius didn't check the water level. Shitty water everywhere THEN doesn't clean up HIS mess or the mess in the shower - which my original customer service rep said was unacceptable THEN concludes the visit saying "OKAY, YOU'RE GOOD" with me in the other room.and leaves the building Side door fully open Back door fully open Shitty water everywhere I had to clean it up & then Tanya calls & just says "we won't send him out next time" and seems baffled by the idea of needing to retrain the guy I literally can't wrap my head around their standards for their own work
Couldn't ask for less. They had no idea what they were doing. Tickled the clog after the first visit which helped a bit, but not long after the clog returned. They also insisted on removing my toilet, twice, and failed to reinstall it properly. The first guy also left a sticky mess behind. The third time (warranty visit), they broke the water connection to my toilet and didn't get the water to move though the sewer at all. They claimed it was sludge and not roots, so it was not something they could fix. $900 dollars and my sewer was 100% blocked when they left. Anyhow, Zoom drain came out and removed the roots in a 1/2 hour without removing the toilet. They also Hydro-Jetted to remove any other roots to ensure a 100% clean sewer main.
I had a leaky pipe in my basement, they came out and fixed it and it took 2 hours to fix, 30 minutes to pickup replacement part since he didn't have his truck and 1 1/2 hours to fix. They charged me $1100, that is $60 dollars for part and $500 plus a hour, which is completely ridiculous. So if you want to be taken advantage of, go ahead and please use. Worker was nice enough, but really didn't clean up afterwards. Now they will reply to this saying they want to reach out to me, which I had, but then they won't get back. Trying to make themselves like they really care about customer complaints. If you are in a bind because of bad plumbing, find someone else that won't take advantage of the situation.
It’s scary when you have a plumbing issue because you hear all the horror stories. My daughter had a flood in her basement and I knew she was very happy with the work so when I had a problem I called. I wasn’t exactly sure what part I needed to show the guy but Sean showed up so nice and professional. He took one look at the problem and explained that it’s not something that can be worked on w pro equipment- that it would break it potentially and that RR will always error on the side of caution. That another company MAY do it but it doesn’t mean they should. Sean’s honesty, education and transparency is the reason why he will now be our plumbing guy for life!!!!! Talk about a company with integrity!!!
I clearly overpaid for a job that took no more than 20 minutes, but he got the job done. He stated a few times that everything is expensive these days, but I should have done more searching for quotes on my end before landing here. Just make sure you do your research or you'll pay the price...literally. Update: I emailed my information to Pat. I'd urge anyone thinking about turning to Roto-Rooter to look at all of the other comments beneath mine. I know I'll never hear back from her. Just please do your research and compare these ridiculous prices to others in the area. Otherwise you'll be the next one on here receiving the same generic response from Pat.
