Excellent service from start to finish! Our toilet issue was fixed quickly, and the technician (Nick) was courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. Pricing was fair and transparent, and everything works perfectly now. Would definitely use again.
Nick was very professional and explained what was going on with my hot water heater thoroughly. I would definitely request him next time I need services! A+ Sevice!
I am thoroughly impressed with the level of expertise provided during my recent water heater installation. The technician (Nick) demonstrated a multi-disciplinary understanding of home systems, fluently discussing electrical loads and plumbing configurations alongside the installation process. They provided a balanced comparison of various units, helping me make an informed decision based on long-term value. Exceptional service and technical authority.
My kitchen sink was stopped up. I called Roto-Rooter. What a mistake. They quoted me $689. Most people charge $125-$200. It was the day before Thanksgiving so I was desperate. I bargained down $575. No bargain.
There prices are insane 500$ to clear a drain
I just wanted to start by saying this is probably the most high quality company. I have six children so drain getting clogged and getting stuck in drains that shouldn't be. There is a continuous issue. I received some services in December and I was ecstatic because the knowledge & professionalism the care to detail the safety. I felt of the employees while they were in my home with my children was unmatched I was extremely comfortable. They were so informative and so helpful. I highly recommend This roto rooters. unfortunately This evening I noticed there was a clog very disgusting and I could not get the toilet to flush properly. I had to manually empty it. I believe my four year old may have tried to flush something that doesn't belong in the toilet. I called Roto-Rooter because of the perfect services I had received from them before and I was so disrespectful and emotionally immature and just trauma dumping and high stressed. roto rooter's beautiful employee, Lanika calmed me down, she was listening to me, she was so patient with me, she was knowledgabLe and informative . She was informing me on all the details on how to prevent further damages and she was just so understanding and compassionate that it literally made me feel better about my horrible situation. I know this is a great company I'm so greatful Lanika expedited my appointment . And I also spoke to the manager Dwayne, who was also very comforting, informative his and Lanika's problem solving advice & great customer service really is a game changer in aiding to the prevention of me freaking out about the situation. I highly recommend this company- don't forget ask for Lanika . - Thank you
This review is for Roto-rooter Northern VA. I am extremely disappointed with this company. I had a clogged sewer drain. They were the only company that could come out late. I brought them out, very nice employee, he said my drain was clogged and it would be $842.00 to clean my main sewer line. It was very overpriced, but I had some reasons for needing it done, so I just said okay, let’s do it. Tech promised I would have a 6 month warranty on the sewer line, if it plugged back up again and dropped $100 of the price. Next day, the.camera crew came in to film the sewer drain (included with Roto rooter sewer line service). Camera guy told me the drain still had a bunch of blockages in it, and it was just going to plug again. I talked to him about the “warranty” and he said that the warranty was only for a drain snake, and only good for one time. He then told me what I really needed was some super duper drain clean, that would be needed for 30 feet. That would be $2400.00. Mind you, this is not roots, earth, or anything else. It’s just 2400 to clean some remaining, food waste and sludge from the sewer pipe that I already paid 742 to have cleaned. I am very disappointed with the prices, service, and “warranty” offered by roto-rooter. It feels to me like they are trying to find ways to charge customers as much as possible, and not stand by their warranty. I will never use roto-rooter again for plumbing issues.
Watch out! RR is the Silver Spring area employs a nasty pricing ethic. We had a clogged drain and it happened at 9PM. Called Rooter Rooter believing they had the staff to come in an emergency. They would not quote a price for a drain clean over the phone. Siad the plumber would assess and talk when they came out. Seemed reasonable. After 3 minutes of assessment, he quoted $1,450. As it was an emergency situation and we had 2 small children we agreed. Sort of "gun to the head" situation. We could not use sinks, showers, etc... They justifed the cost by adding on a mandatory camera inspection after it was cleared. In other words, the $1,450 was for both servoces whereas we only wanted the clearing only. They would not clear the drain if we refused the camera inspection. After 30 minutes, the drain was cleared, they were paid and we felt robbed. I will repeat, at 9PM, we felt we had no choice. Just BEWARE! Call someone else.
This morning was a nightmare. I discovered my basement flooded with about 4-5 inches of water. I immediately called a water removal company and the Project Manager let me know the sump-pump was running. I called 3 different plumbers and Roto-Rooter was the only company to say they’d have someone out ASAP. Within 2 hours Nick was as my house and he was able to quickly identify the issue. Luckily my pump wasn’t broken, so it was able to be turned back on, however, he did suggest a back-up that would protect my basement from flooding again. He was great at explaining everything and really nice. As soon as I said “yes” to the fix he got what he needed and added the additional pump to my system. I’m truly thankful for him and helping me through this incredibly stressful process and day. I cannot recommend them enough!!!!
They called me about an hour before the plumber arrived so I would be ready for them. David was a younger guy, probably around my age (lower to mid-20s), and was very professional and polite. He broke down all the expected charges and walked me through everything he was doing and thinking. When confused he wasn't afraid to ask for a second opinion from who I assume was his mentor or a more experienced plumber. After identifying that the issue was a faulty sump pump, David drove to the closest Lowe's to buy a new one (closest one was in Maryland), came back with my receipt and warranty information, and installed the new pump. He had me flush the toilet a few times to make sure the pump worked, and broke down all my fees on the invoice. They also have a great military discount which saved me a decent chunk of money!
If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this company and any franchises unless you are desperate for an emergency plumber. Roto Rooter charges a FLAT FEE of $729.00 to snake an exterior drain. The work could take 10 minutes or 2 hours, but this is the fee. The problem is that Roto Rooter does not tell you there is a flat fee up front, and when I inquired twice about the fee when booking the appointment, I was told the technician would give me the price on the job. I realize it was my mistake for trusting that the fee would be within the typical realm of other plumbing fees, BUT IF ROTO ROOTER CHARGES A FLAT FEE FOR SERVICES, THEN WHY NOT TELL THE CUSTOMER THIS? This is a dishonest practice for a substandard plumbing franchise.
We had a great experience with Ruma Plumbing and especially with Wael. They came out the very next day when we were concerned about a possible gas leak from our cooktop and also needed help with a toilet flushing issue. Wael arrived right on time, was professional, thorough, and took the time to clearly explain what he found and what needed to be done. He fixed the toilet issue and gave us peace of mind regarding the gas concern. The cost was also extremely reasonable, which we really appreciated. It’s hard to find service companies that are responsive, honest, and reliable, but Ruma Plumbing delivered on all of it. Highly recommend them to anyone in Northern Virginia!
STAY AWAY from this company. My elderly mother called Roto-Rooter for a clogged kitchen sink. When she asked for a rough estimate, they told her they couldn't provide her one. They came out and unclogged the sink within an hour and charged her $900!! That was also supposed to include an elderly discount. It is completely unethical how they take advantage of people. My mother called to complain but the lady on the phone was extremely rude to my mother. The lady said she would reach out to the manger who never called her back. I plan to report this company as well.
The hot water in our tub stopped working, so I scheduled an appointment online. Abdul came out at the time I requested. He was very responsive and very knowledgeable. He quoted me $500. This was way too much money to replace a $75 item. I went upstairs to check on him and I noticed he had an extra part. He put that part back in his truck. So, I believe I was charged for a part that he didn't put on. I would love to see the receipt from Home Depot.
The Roto-rooter staff were great and fast to my respond to my emergency. My water pipe bursted. In the basement at 2AM and they were quick to answer my call and made sure I wa sable to get a professional come out the same morning. Nick was amazing , and very knowledgeable. He had recommended a few things I should look out for and he was able to repair my pipe. Thank you again to Nick and the staff at roro-rooter . I highly recommend them.
