The technician, Moe, is the only reason for this 5 star review. His customer service was more than could be expected from 90% of the construction workforce. He made sure he checked everything he needed and even double and triple checked. He was very thorough with his inspection, diagnosis, and treatment. He was quick and professional, but also personable making the entire process very smooth and simple for me. Before, I would have never called roto rooter, too big of a company for me, but now I will because of Moe. Hire more Moes and see how it goes.

I had a clog from hell going into a weekend. I went with Roto Rooter because they didn't charge more for weekend calls but I'll keep coming to them for Tony C! If it's not Tony, don't send anyone! I called at night on Friday and he was here at 11AM Saturday! He was absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable, thorough and a pleasure to deal with. He took out that clog in no time. He also gave me tips on how to prevent it from happening again. Thanks so much Tony! 5 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ service.

My SIL hired this group, initially to fix a leak. Then we found that there were other problems. 1st charge was $225, they looked and said they needed a camera. 2nd charge was $250, (they said this would come off the final bill) they brought the camera, said I needed other work. (Cedar trees were present) New cost $8,600, plus an additional $962 for the original leak (I was told that this would be $600). They started working and then called me for an additional $1,000. When the final bill came, they added a service charge of $314 (or about that to my bill). Because I am 70 years old and on a FIXED income I asked if they offered any Senior discounts. I was told YES, 10%. When I called to pay, I asked for my Discount and was told, they had already given it to me. They DIDN'T and flat out LIED. I was expecting a discount of at least $1,000 and didn't get it. BUYER BE WARE!!! EDIT: I received a call this morning, the person calling wanted to know about the review. I told him exactly what I have posted. He didn't offer the promised discount, he said he would talk to his staff. A few minutes later he called my SIL and asked him to talk me into "TAKING DOWN MY REVIEW " he didn't offer any other options! As I said before, BUYER BE WARE!!

I gave them a 2 instead of 1 because they were super quick getting a technician out to my home, and everybody was friendly...but fast and friendly did me no good, because the plumber (Corey) "unclogged" the wrong part of the line. Instead of telling me there was no clog in the pipe I showed him, and investigating to see where the clog actually WAS, he went through the motions of cabling through the pipes, and fifteen minutes later told me he was done. He charged me $234...He said that if I had any more problems, I needed to have my septic tank pumped out...I didn't have any more problems flushing my toilets, because he put the cap to the port on wrong, and the excrement was still pouring out into my backyard... When my sister and her husband (who know much more about plumbing than me) came over a few days later, they informed me that he had not fixed the problem, and that the only reason the toilets were flushing was because the 💩💩 was still coming out into the yard... I called them back and told them that the problem was not fixed, and that the clog was further down the line. They told me that I needed to have the septic tank pumped out... My sister knew that was not the problem, so we went with Chickamauga Plumbing and Septic Systems. Their plumber instantly removed the real clog instead of an imaginary one, and only charged me $150, compared to their $234, and he didn't try to talk me into an unnecessary septic tank pumping. I called Roto Rooter back to request a refund, since I now had to pay two plumbers to get the job done. They said no, that the only thing they would have done was send the same apathetic technician back out who hadn't bothered to find where the actual problem was, but they also gaslit me and insisted that the reason the plumbing was still backed up was because of a full septic tank... Lesson learned; in the future, I will insist that the plumber comes back out, regardless of whether or not they tell me it won't do any good...By not doing so, it left them a loophole to avoid making me whole...I fully recommend the honest, more affordable plumbers at Chickamauga Plumbing and Septic... They won't take advantage of your lack of knowledge of how plumbing lines run...

We called Roto Rooter on Sunday, January 21st, 2018 because we had a back up in our utility sink in the laundry room while washing clothes. We wanted them to pump out our septic tank (we snaked it several times and it did not work). After telling us their trucks were full, we were reassured they would be out to our house on Monday (the following day). After several phone calls to them asking them when they planned to be there, we were told, "sometime today", "let us call you back", and of course, they never called back. In fact, when I called them on Monday afternoon, just before 5pm to see when they woild be there, I was told, "we do not need to pump the tank, because it is in the line. We will not be there to pump the tank today). i was so livid I said a few things and hung up. So, at 5pm my husband called another company METRO SEWER AND DRAIN. The man said, "my truck is full, but I WILL EMPTY IT AND I WILL BE THERE IN 1 1/2 HOURS". He was there in the time frame he stated, PUMPED MY TANK" and was done in no time. I want to thank Roto Rooter for waiting until 5pm to tell me they were not planning to come out, because I had to PAY PREMIUM PAY due to it being after 5pm. What Roto Rooter did not know, my husband works at a major manufacturing plant in Chattanooga, TN and had used them before. That is why he called them. Now, after this fiasco, my husband will no longer use them at the plant. So, Roto Rooter has lost business at a major manufacturing plant, which means Roto Rooter has LOST a lot of work, which transfers to a lot of $$$. We will NEVER use Roto Rooter again. We will NEVER recommend Roto Rooter to anyone. We will however, let anyone and everyone know of the horrible service, how Roto Rooter continually lied to us about coming out and just how shady they are. If I could give NO STARS I would, but unfortunately, that is not an option.

This company, Roto Rooter Plumbing and Drain, PO Box 8458 in Chattanooga, is ridiculously expensive, incompetent and unethical. My daughter, owner of the house and payer requested the main exterior sewage drain to be unclouded. Instead of using the existing clean out, the plumber installed an new clean out. This cost a Thousand dollars. (the actual snaking of the drain was another $325). My daughter payed the emailed invoice but it was several day before she could get to the house and see what was done. When my daughter brought the unneeded clean out to the "Managers" attention, he promised a refund for this work. Several weeks later, apparently the "Owner" has now decided not to give the promised refund. Also, while the plumber was at the house he "befriended" the resident who has an intellectual disability for the OK to do some additional work. She readily agrees to anything. They charged $130 to replace the "P" trap under the sink, $135 to fix a pop-up on a sink and over $300 to replace flapper values on two toilets. If you know anything about plumbing, this is a ridiculous price for simple things and the owner did not request this work. Please note, there seems to be several companies in the Chattanooga area who go by "Roto-Rooter", this one has the "Plumbing and Drain" in the name. Several other notes : They are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, Angi is a joke because you have to get the Plumber's OK, (code needed) to leave a review, so Angi review's are worthless.

I called Roto Rooter to unstop a kitchen sink drain. After they left the job site the sink did still not drain. I called a different plumber from a different company who informed me that the drain line was pierced through and taped up with a piece of tape(!). The plumber from the second company cut out the piece of drain that was patched up by Roto Rooters to properly fix the hole. Turns out that the drain was completely clogged shut with grease and food. NOTHING was snaked or cabled out, as the Roto Rooter plumber had confirmed he did and charged me $300+ for. He basically lied me straight into the face. Never in a million years will I do business with these guys again. They are disgrace for the plumbing trade and give plumbers in Chattanooga a bad reputation. When I called Roto Rooters to complain they stated that I should have called them again as this was a warranty case. This wasn't a job done bad though. This was a job not done at all and charged to the customer. That's not a warranty case, that's a FRAUD case.

Called Roto Rooter 10/29/16 for a back up in my tub and wet around my septic tank the woman said they would be able to take care of the problem. A truck pumped half of my tank didn't check to see if anything was flowing took my $300.00 and left. Several hours later a bath was taken and the tub would not drain backed up into the shower! Called back man showed up around 11:00ish PM I told him what had happened earlier in the day. He said the other side should have been pumped as well snaked my drain coming into my septic charged me another $210.00! He did make sure everything flowed. I called Roto Rooter this morning 10/31/16 the man told me that pumping one side takes care of both and the drain clearing was done by a different truck. I told I did not believe him because I watched Metro Plumbing do the SAME job cleaned both sides of the tank along with making sure everything flowed. I would not recommend this company at all!

We had a major issue pertaining to our irrigation system that affected our main water line to the house. Getting an irrigation company to come out that same day was impossible, so we resorted to a emergency plumbing service. Started off with Wes coming out for an estimate, because we weren't sure if they'd be able to fix it. He came in record time and told us that they definitely would be able to repair it. Our tech, Kyle, showed up not long after that. He was able to repair the problem and we were still able to use our irrigation system. The time line from the first initial call was 10:45am to being completely finished about 12:45pm. We just knew it would take all day to get our water back on. Great service, great professionalism and would definitely recommend. Kyle...we know it was hot and absolutely appreciated your extra efforts at getting it done.

If I could give them negative stars, I would!! WORST service EVER!! They came out and supposedly pumped my septic tank, only to find out they removed only the wastewater and not the solid waste. They also told me that I needed my lines jetted and charged me $1200. I found out that most only charge around $400 for this service. They told me that if I needed my field lines replaced, which I do, that they would apply the $1200 toward the $5300 it would cost to replace these lines. I am using someone else to replace my field lines for about $3000, and I am still coming out ahead even with having to pay to have my tank re-pumped the proper way, and with the $1200 I threw away by having them supposedly jet my lines!! I will definitely do my homework the next time!! Lesson Learned, but not a mistake I will make again!! ROTO ROOTER SUCKS!!!

This was a tough one. I bet that customers who call with their first of three floors toilet and bathtub filling up aren't happy customers. I got a call from my mid 80s mother-in-law late Sunday morning. My father-in-law suffers from dementia and she was frantic. I called RR and asked them to work with me, and to use discretion with them. RR was fantastic. All we could do is work through the problem step-by-step, while I tried to explain what was happening to my parents. The septic tank was full, and someone had built a deck on top of it. I tried to distract my parents while they chopped into the deck. With cameras, rooters, and lots of hard digging work, they located and unearthed the tank, pumped the tank, and installed a riser. They were very patient with my folks. Lamar, Rob, Aaron, Tony, and Kyle, great job!!

Do you like scheduling people to come out to your business and then not returning your calls for 2 weeks? Well boy have I got a deal for you! As we are trying to get a whole sink and plumbing installation going, we asked Roto Rooter to come out and take a look at it.. And they did, very quickly. The young man came out take some pictures and said they would be in touch. Over a week later.... crickets. Nothing. I gave them a call and asked what was going on, and they were rather dumbfounded and surprised no one had gotten back to us. More or less, the answer was "Oh.... maybe a supervisor has to approve it then". And that has been the end of our Roto Rooter interaction and this review. If this review ending left you feeling robbed or unfulfilled, we share your feelings!

If I had only read the reviews! We had a cracked pipe under concrete, pool deck and they said "oh we can fix that". In "fixing it" the ruined our pool liner Day of incident one of guys patched pool liner and said IF YOU HAVE any issues let us know and we'll take care of it. Fast forward to pool season, liner wouldn't hold water. I called and they refused to take responsibility after being told they would. John talked to me as if I was an idiot but as soon as husband got on phone changed his tune. He agreed to send a guy out to look at it, nothing done but a little bit of digging. Husband and I drained pool completely patched what they screwed up. Stand behind your words! Another customer lost

The technician Tony C. was very knowledgeable and had the drains unclogged in short order. No mess and very nice, professional. Great job until he gave us an estimate for work that needed done. We had an old galvanized pipe that needed to be replaced and some plumbing that it obviously been done by someone that did not know what they were doing. He gave us an estimate of $5600. Needless to say my husband, and I both thought that was excessive so we got another estimate from a very reputable plumbing company and their estimate was $2925. Almost half of Roto Rooter’s estimate! The other company went so far as to say that $5600 was “highway robbery.” They seemed quite shocked at such a high estimate.
