We had an emergency plumbing issue with no hot water with relatives coming to visit right before Christmas. Reliant put us on the schedule for the same day and determined that our 20yr old water heater was heavily calcified and needed replacement. Roman arrived in the late afternoon and worked hard for a few hours to uninstall our old unit and install a new 50gallon unit, replacing all the old fixtures and piping. He was detailed and thorough in walking us through the installation steps and even took a quick look at a few minor leaks in our house to make sure we didn't have any quiet money-sucking water leaks. Our hot water is back just in time for our holiday visitors.

Alan and Patrick arrived within two hours of us calling for an emergency with our sewer line on a Sunday. They were quick, professional, and transparent about pricing. Would highly recommend Riliant and their team!

Allen came out Lowry short notice on a Tuesday and helped immensely with a broken water heater issue that my family had. He was incredibly polite and professional and solidified my want to use this company if further issues arise.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! I want to give 0 stars but it makes me give 1 minimum I paid a very high fee for an emergency repair. The quality of the work was good, but after taking my credit card #, they asked my husband for payment and he gave them a check. Then they proceeded to also charge my credit card twice TRIPLE charging us. They notified me of the error, and said they would reverse the credit card charges but did not. After over a DOZEN phone calls that were not returned, I finally gave up and contacted my credit card company who was able to reverse the charges. I have never had anything like this happen in my decades of home ownership and I cannot emphasize enough NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

They overcharged me for services. They came to check for a gas leak in my house. I thought they would have some expensive intricate way to find my leak, but no, they just used a bike pump and a diaphragm gauge and didn't even find the leak. Barely 2 hours of "work" and they charged me once 750$ then an additional 160$ the next day. For what, I have no clue. I never even received a quote or an invoice, and when I was told someone would call me to discuss pricing, no one ever did. I have tried calling several times, but it always sends me to an AI operator. When I called with a different phone number, I was able to reach an actual person who simply said I would get a call back, which I never did. Please rethink doing business with this company, as they will essentially scam you for your money. I will personally ensure those around me AVOID this company.

I called Reliant on 05.10.25 and scheduled an appointment for their 8:00 AM to Noon time slot to have a toilet supply line leak repaired. At around 10:00 AM a representative named Alan showed up. He said that I needed to install shut off valves at the street and a new toilet in addition to repairing the leaking toilet supply line. I said if we were going to replace the toilet that I wanted a toilet bidet in rather than a regular toilet. He gave me the price which was over 4k to all this work and said he would be back in an hour with the parts. After three hours I had not heard from anyone so I text the number provided. They called and said someone should be there between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. At 3:30 PM I got text that the technician was 19 miles away. An hour later I text back and questioned where the technician might as the map showing his location showed him in the same place he was the hour before when I got the text that he was on his way. At about 5:30 a different technician named Jorge showed up. He reviewed the work to be done and that was when I learned that Alan was "the salesman". As we discussed the work to be done, Jorge mentioned that they would have to come back to instal the toilet seat bidet in a few days. I explained I didn't want a toilet seat bidet. I wanted a toilet bidet in one. We agreed to not replace my toilet but do the other work. When he was done he called into his office in my presence to ask them to remove the toilet and toilet seat bidet. It was then I learned they had billed my card for the whole amount before they had even done the work. The office rep told him that Alan would call me Monday and they would work out the refund. I never heard from Alan or Reliant on Monday or Tuesday. On Wednesday AM I called and explained the this whole story the office again. They assured me a manager would call me back that day. I did not hear from Reliant or Alan at all that week. I called again on Saturday the 17th and explained the whole thing to Abby. Abby assured me that someone would call me Monday between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. I explained to Abby that whats she was telling me was the same thing I had heard previously and that I was not confident someone would call me. It's Tuesday the 20th and I have yet to receive any calls from Reliant Plumbing regarding this matter. They have not provided me a receipt for the work either. Each time Reliant has set an expectation they have failed to meet the expectation they set. From time of the appointment, to the work to be done, and to a return call. Because they have failed t call me back or refund me for the work that was not done, I have disputed the charges. I would not recommend this organizations for plumbing work. Post my review I received a call. During that call Allen said he would call me right back. That was approximately seven hours ago and I've yet to receive the call back. 05.21.25 7:57 PM I've yet to hear back from Allen or Reliant and my credit card has yet to be refunded for the work. I have now disputed the charges in total because it is clear Reliant is not going to respond. 05.29.25 7:42 PM It's June 12, 2021 at 7:28 AM and I am on the phone with them again. Still no resolution, no refund and the same story. All I can do is take a message and have someone get back to you. I've said I wont get off the phone until this is resolved. Now I'm hold.

I referred a client to Reliant Plumbing as one of three options for a sewer inspection, and they ultimately chose Reliant. Based on their experience this morning, I will be removing Reliant from my list of recommended service providers. When I refer clients, I expect them to receive excellent service, and unfortunately, that was not the case. When my client called to schedule a sewer scope inspection for a home purchase, they were not given a quote or even a price range--only a service fee. It wasn't until the plumber arrived on-site that they were informed the inspection would cost $535. To put this into perspective, the licensed TREC home inspector, who was already on-site conducting the whole home inspection, would have charged around $280 for the same sewer scope. There is no clear reason why Reliant's price was almost double the standard rate. The first person to arrive was friendly enough, but it was unclear what their actual role was compared to the plumber who eventually did the work. They may have been a salesperson or foreman, but their purpose on-site wasn't made clear. The actual plumber who performed the sewer scope arrived with a device that did not have a charged battery, forcing them to wait for one. As a result, what should have been a straightforward inspection at 8:00 AM dragged on until 11:30 AM--a completely unnecessary delay. When it came time to locate the exterior and interior clean-outs, the effort was minimal at best. The second exterior clean-out was found by my partner in seconds, yet the plumber barely searched for it. Inside the home, they made an even more half-hearted attempt to locate the clean-outs under the bathroom sinks. They were ready to leave after only scoping from the street to the house, ignoring the majority of the plumbing under the home. I had to push them to complete a more thorough inspection. The final straw was the report. For $535, my client received a two-page PDF with pictures of the clean-out entrance--but no images or videos of the pipes themselves. There is no real documentation of the sewer condition, meaning my client has no actual evidence of what they paid for. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and overpriced. The lack of transparency, delays, incomplete inspection, and inadequate reporting do not align with the level of service I expect when referring professionals. As a result, Reliant Plumbing will no longer be on my list of recommended service providers. Update 1: It has now been over 48 hours, and despite multiple attempts to follow up through their hotline, we have not received any additional photos, videos, or a credit. The manager continues to call at different times but is never available when we return the call. He also does not provide a direct number, so we're forced to go through the answering service again and again, repeating the same process with no resolution. Update 2: They finally promised to give our client a credit, but as of today, it has still not been received. We also have still not received a reply to any of our follow-up communications.

I will start by saying this was one of the worst service experiences I have had with any business in any industry. Here's what happened: My toilet was suddenly not flushing well this week. After clearing a few separate clogs with a plunger, I decided there must be a blockage and called Reliant to check it out. They scheduled service the very next day and a tech arrived on time. After running a camera through the sink (not the toilet), the tech informed me that I have valleys in the pipes running under my foundation. He explained these valleys cause standing water that disrupt the proper functioning of the plumbing system, and concluded that this was the most likely root cause of my flushing issue. When I asked if he should also check the toilet before recommending that I let Reliant dig under my house to address the valleys, he briefly acknowledged that I could have him snake ($500) or pull the toilet ($1,200) before explaining that if I didn't address the valleys quickly, the problem would get worse and end up costing me much more. When I asked if he could run the camera through the toilet instead of the sink to determine if snaking or pulling the toilet was necessary, he said the camera could not negotiate the sharp turns inside the toilet drain. He also discouraged the snake option because "it's not guaranteed to clear a blockage if there is one." At this point, I decided I was going to either investigate the problem further myself or call another plumber for a second opinion. (My plumbing system has had absolutely no issues in the 6 years that I've lived here and it seemed like something more acute than sagging pipes was probably at play). The tech said that was certainly an option, but insisted he write up a formal estimate before leaving. I agreed, assuming he would quote the snake and toilet removal options. Instead, he provided me an estimate to correct the valleys in the pipes. THE QUOTE WAS FOR $73K! After he left, I pulled the toilet myself and found a pair of my son's eyeglasses lodged in the bottom. I bought a new wax ring from Home Depot ($10) and re-installed the toilet. It now works perfectly. Altogether, the repair cost me $10 and 2 hours of my time, including the trip to Home Depot. I'm certain Reliant could have done it in even less time. I don't doubt that I have valleys in my pipes. And at some point, I may need to address them. However, I think it's absurd that the tech would choose to focus entirely on a $73K solution without exhausting all other possibilities first. I would never trust this company to diagnose another plumbing issue and I strongly advise you to do the same.

This very well may be the worst company of any kind in Austin. Max H, don't bother responding as you do to all other 1 star posts with your BS about sincere apologies. Your company is a legit scam. My story: I have a 2-year old water heater that is functioning great, and decided would try to perform annual maintenance for once to extend the life of this one. I signed up for a water heater "flush" for $99. Daniel Gonzales comes out, hooks up a hose, drains it for 5 minutes, and leaves. I'm surprised as I've watched youtube videos on this, and saw then flushing water through (not only draining) and cleaning the anode rod of any corrosion / buildup. Well... not with Reliant, you don't get anything of actual value. Ok whatever, I'm out $99 dollars and nothing happened. I move on. The next day I notice the drip pan is starting to fill and wonder if there's a new leak somehow in my water heater. 2 weeks later, I notice water leaking all the way out my garage and onto the driveway... indeed there's a leak. We never had a leak or any issue prior to this absolute horsecrap service. Call Reliant, they are super disorganized between the office secretary and the actual plumbers. Mixed messages and no clarity on how this will be fixed. And Daniel calls me back and diagnoses the problem on the phone that "its definitely not anything that they did that could cause this." lol really? I have an almost new water heater, in working condition. You come and fiddle with it, promptly beginning a NEW leak, and then you're able to tell over the phone that it's not related to the work you did? It couldn't be more obvious of a lie given you're willing to make that claim without actually seeing the water heater. Anyway, we insist he comes back to fix it. He shows up eventually looks at it, claims its not his fault, and slaps us with a $1700 estimate to fix a bunch of stuff that ISNT BROKEN, not even related to the leak. My wife, god bless her, doesn't take this crap, and insists he fix the damn leak. He tightens the connection on top where the leak seems to be coming from and voila, no more leak. I'm 98% certain this connection was loosened intentionally to drive more business and rack up charges. Now after reading all the reviews on Yelp I'm even more confident that is the case. I haven't come across a company as vile as this one. Stay away!! And Max H, please don't dare respond here. Not interested in hearing you lie through your teeth again.

Before calling these people read my review, and then keep on reading because my experience is not unique. These people are crooks. We called them because a bathtub on our second floor was leaking and coming through a light fixture in ceiling below. It was a weekend and our usual plumbers were not available. Not knowing exactly what the problem was we wanted to get someone out that day. They came and cut a giant hole in our ceiling and told us we needed repairs to copper piping. They also tried to sell us a water heater at a discount if we decided right then to do it and assured us it would fail any day. We declined the water heater but felt stuck with them because we paid $150 just for them to come out, so we didn't listen to the icky feeling the slimy salesman was giving us. He quoted $1600 to make progressive cuts into the drywall and make copper pipe repairs as needed, and said he'd need an $800 deposit. We paid the deposit and he left. Two other guys came shortly after, looked into the hole in the ceiling and asked if there was a tub just above. They went and looked at the tub and discovered that the only problem was missing sealant on a joint in the drain. They fixed it in 5 minutes. When asked about whether there would be a price adjustment because this was a very different job than was quoted to us they said someone would call us the following day to discuss. No one called. On Monday my husband received an invoice/agreement for $1135, and they charged our credit card for the difference without our permission. We did not give them permission to hold our credit card number, but on the "agreement" they emailed they had forged my husband's signature, and that agreement with the forged signature gave them permission. I called no less than 10 times and no one was ever available to talk to me and they would not return my calls. I started an email chain for a paper trail, filed a police report for the forged signatures and protested the charges with my credit card company. I also consulted an attorney because it was free through my legal plan at work. So far my credit card company has given my money back, and if Reliant somehow gets them to reverse that I have the attorney on standby to help. These people are infuriating. I cannot stress enough that you would be better off dealing with whatever plumbing issue you have yourself rather than calling them.

Completely Irresponsible! Reliant came out and installed a tankless water heater in our garage. They overcharged for the heater, and did give a small refund after I called them out. The water heater failed inspection by the city of Lakeway because there wasn't a water catch installed in case of a leak. It failed again when the installer cut the back of the tray off so he didn't have to install it around the plumbing. When this was relayed to the installer, he told us he had "gotten hot, and wasn't feeling good, so he did it that way to get it done." When he installed it, he also set the gas setting on natural gas, versus what we have- propane- which burns at a different temperature. That caused the heater to fail, and cause smoke damage to our house and nearly burnt the heater up. By the grace of God, our house didn't burn down. To resolve the issue, they cleaned and painted the exterior of our house and the inside of the heater, but refused to replace the heater in spite of what looked like extensive burn damage. Shortly after that, the heater quit working again. We had a different plumber come out this time, and they discovered that the unit was so damaged that it was leaking carbon monoxide into our garage. It was also improperly installed, with the ventilation pipes so close together that fresh air could not come in- just exhaust. Again, that was a huge problem. We received a bill from the new plumber in the amount of $2,500. Reliant did agree to the fact that they were responsible for the damage, and would refund the money. That was on February 19th. Since then, they have given us the run around and do not return phone calls. I went to their office on March 1st in person, and a man who said his name was Evan, the sales manager, said he would get resolution. He would not provide his last name and stated he didn't have a business card. I never heard from him. We have been diligent in seeking resolution, attempting to speak with them on a very frequent basis. They state on their website that they do quality work with 100% satisfaction guaranteed. DO NOT BELIEVE EITHER CLAIM! Do not risk having them install an item that should be easy for a qualified plumber.

Edited: go to the BBB site and read customer reviews for this location. There are other recent complaints of highly inflated charges for unnecessary services Shady!! I had a leak at the base of my toilet and a broken flange was the cause. A plumber/GM named Mack came out and preyed on my trust and naivete and quoted $1500 after using scare tactics. He stated the flange couldn't be removed from the top of the pipe because in his "15 years of experience" it would be best to replace the pipe and flange. This would entail cutting through the ceiling and having to replace drywall and then he took it a step further by saying there may even be remediation needed for water damage to the subfloor. Well I panicked and fell for it and agreed. After he left and I was waiting for the real plumber to come fix the toilet I calmed down and used my brain and did some research. There was no damage to the pipe and I researched the removal of the flange. I called Mack back and told him no to the big repair and when the plumber showed I explained to him what I wanted done. The flange came out with no problem. The plumber who came out named Jacob was a doll and did a great job. It's a shame he works for such a dishonest group. There was absolutely no reason to quote such a high price and for completely unnecessary work. I am now the owner of $1000 plastic flange. I feel like an idiot for falling for this scam and I hope that this review will keep others from falling prey. F/U after owner response on this review today: I attempted to contact to discuss this matter and was offered no information on how to contact the person in charge of the GM. I was only given an email that is monitored by customer service assistants and received a blanket response and a statement that they would send it for further follow up. If the company honestly wanted to provider customers the ability to speak with a manager was displeased it would be much easier to make contact. Highly doubt I will hear back. Also there was obviously no damage that he should’ve been worried about to my pipe seeing as how it was intact and the flooring above was intact. Just a scam quote and no ability to immediately follow up with anyone

Reliant Plumbing= SCAM. If I could give negative stars I would. We have been trying to get a call back for over a week now. Here is what happened: We had a gurgling toilet downstairs so we called them and they said we had tree roots that had broken a pipe (this is the second time they have told us this by the way- to the tune of thousands of dollars last time, ~2 years ago). I'm not saying we didn't - but I will say both times it's been a catastrophic diagnosis. Coincidental? Not sure. In any case, we starting talking price. This is when it turned into a used car negotiation. They quoted us $10.2K - we said we would get a second opinion and suddenly, the price dropped to $9K IF we didn't get a second opinion and if we agreed to it right then. They also tried to find out who we were calling -- the supervisor told us he had worked at Abacus and Radiant... classic used car tactics - talk smack about competition. We asked for a couple of hours to discuss it and the "supervisor" had to go outside and call the owner who ultimately told us no, the deal was now or never. So, with Christmas 5 days away, we agreed, as they said their contractors could work over the weekend. Once we signed, suddenly they could not get the same workers because we had negotiated a lower price so they would not start until Monday Dec 23. Now, this is what we have been looking at since then. They said they ran into a lot of rock and suddenly it would be $15K. We said that is not what we agreed to and we needed to talk to the supervisor. We have tried to call 5+ times over the past 1.5 weeks and NO phone call back, radio silence. The receptionist even said, "yes we have logged several calls from you, I will make sure you get a call back"- and still so far, we are stonewalled. So now we have a gaping hole 3' deep under our foundation on the coldest day of the year with exposed pipe and a dead yard. Reliant Plumbing is closer to a used car scam than a legitimate plumber. I can tell you what, we will NEVER use them again and I encourage every neighbor in Steiner Ranch and Austin to reconsider giving them your business. We filed a complaint with the state board and with BBB.

I had a leaking bathroom sink that seemed like a minor fix. I saw some good reviews for this company and my partner made us an appointment with same day service. The service fee was $89 and gets waived after you accept further work. Ray Baker arrived as our technician. I showed him where the sink was leaking from and he explained that he thought the installation of the sink was bad, which I didn't necessarily disagree with. During his diagnostic of the leak, he loosened another area of the sink. After his diagnosis, which only took one or two minutes, he went to another area of my house with my partner to provide her with a quote. I stayed upstairs to assess whether or not the sink had been put together in a way where it'd be usable while we got together the money for the quote Ray was about to provide. I noticed the part he'd loosened was leaking and it hadn't previously leaked, so I went and asked if he could tighten it before he left. Ray responded and said, "No." There was awkward silence and I politely asked again, but this time he agreed. I mentioned that I just wanted it tightened in good faith, so that the sink was somewhat usable while we got together the money to make the permanent fix. I didn't think this was an unreasonable ask, considering we'd paid the $89 service fee that's not refundable. Once he started tightening the pipe on the sink, I again mentioned that I just wanted it tightened in good faith, to which he replied that he'd just get money from the next job and didn't need our business. I didn't know how to respond, so I just didn't say anything. During my silence, I noticed Ray getting progressively more hostile and upset. Unprovoked, he mentioned several times that the sink was broken and tightening it wouldn't fix anything, that we needed to pay the money for the quote to fix it. What confused me about this interaction is that I never once said I wouldn't want the permanent fix, nor did I deny the quote. I won't be using this company again due to Ray Baker's behavior.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Reliant and would strongly caution others before using them. I contracted their services on 2/3 for a drain cleaning and specifically followed up to request a camera inspection prior to the cleaning because the work was part of an insurance claim and required documentation. The dispatcher confirmed this request was added to my service notes. I rearranged my entire day expecting their arrival by mid-afternoon, even rescheduling mold mitigation services to the following morning to accommodate them. However, I received no communication until 7 p.m., and when the technicians finally arrived, they did not have the camera equipment I explicitly requested. Since their next available appointment conflicted with the mitigation services I had already rescheduled, I had no choice but to send them away. At that point, I requested a refund so I could move on to another contractor. What followed was an exhausting runaround: * I called at least four times over the next week and was repeatedly told the "refund department" would call me, which never happened. * After about a week, I was told a manager had to talk with me before processing the refund and that a call appointment was scheduled. That call never happened. * Instead, the original plumber showed up at my house unexpectedly, saying he was sent there for reasons unknown but had approved my refund. Yet, no refund has been issued. It has now been two weeks, and I still have not received my money back. When I called again, I was promised a manager would contact me within 10-20 minutes. That was four hours ago. On top of that, many calls are routed to an AI agent ("Sarah") rather than a real person, making it nearly impossible to resolve issues. I cannot speak to the quality of their plumbing work because the service was never completed, but their operations and customer service are disorganized, unresponsive, and extremely frustrating. I simply want my refund processed. Very disappointing experience.
