Reliance Plumbing has provided services to us for many years. Most recently they installed a commercial water heater. Assigned technician, John is always pleasure to work with, he is knowledgeable, professional, and goes over and beyond to meet expectations.
The plumbers who serviced me were on time friendly and confident. They knew what the feeding. They replaced my 20 year old tankless water heater and made sure it was up to current codes which required a new vent. The water heater works fine. They cleaned up afterward. Nice guys. I’d call them again in a heartbeat.
John Holden from Reliance Plumbing came out for a sewer line camera inspection and was outstanding. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and—most importantly—gave me the strong feeling that he was being completely honest. I had a ton of questions and he patiently answered every single one in detail, explaining everything he was seeing on the camera in real time. Afterward, he walked me through all my options without any pressure and gave me his genuine recommendation. I’ve recently moved to the area and have already dealt with a few other plumbers/companies. My experience with John and Reliance has been the best by far.
Wow what a horrible place. Be sure to read YELP for a true view of these scammers. This is a clip joint and they could financially hurt you. Please beware of this "Plumbing Service" and their pricing scam. On the phone they give a reasonable rough estimate but want $159 to show and formally quote. I should have known this is already a horrible sign. They provided 3 insanely expensive options for a simple fix. They wanted multiple times what others charge. Why? We needed help now! and that seems to be what they thrive on. We had the tech leave and he almost ran away. You should run from them when they play these games. We had what they wanted $1500 for done for $475! Yes 1/3rd their number and just a few hours later. As for the front end charge do not roll over and just accept it. If they try to rip you off call your credit card company and dispute the charge. What they do is ILLEGAL and immoral ! To this business I have one word.... KARMA! —— Update 09-23-2025 — I 100% attest that the review is true and accurate! * Beware this company if you value your hard earned money! *
I wish I had read the Yelp reviews and not relied on Google -- I'd encourage you to read reviews elsewhere before you hire these guys. I paid $89 for consult only to be met with astronomically high prices. They were polite and friendly, but the quote they provided was over $2k for *labor only* on installing a customer-provided toilet, sink, and hardware. The toilet install alone, not including haul away for the old one (already done), was over $550. Several other licensed, bonded, and insured companies were quoting me $225-250 for labor on a toilet install. When I said I was surprised to see the prices so high and noted that others were quoting less than half, Charles called to ask if the quote was from "a company or a friend." I'm bummed to lose the $89 fee but I'll save money in the long run by not working with these guys.
We had Reliance out last week and couldn’t be happier with the experience or the workmanship. After a frustrating visit from another well-known plumbing company in the area that spent hours without fixing our sewer issue—and left us with a HUGE bill—we were referred to Reliance. Alex arrived, identified the problem within minutes, and clearly laid out three options with fair pricing. His crew came out, dug in our crawl space, replaced the broken sewer line, and backfilled everything professionally. We received several quotes before choosing Reliance. Although Reliance wasn't the cheapest, they were transparent, straightforward, and confident in the work that needed to be done. Many others had service call fees or vague “it may cost more” estimates, while Reliance gave us clarity from the start. Overall, we’re extremely satisfied and feel we finally found a plumbing company we can trust.
We discovered a leaking toilet on Friday evening. Our usual plumber wasn't available and so we called Reliance. Alex arrived first thing on Saturday morning. At first we were presented with pretty costly scenarios to fix the problem. However, in the end, Alex was able to fix the leaking toilet at a significantly lower cost than we were expecting. He also took care of a couple of other small plumbing issues in our bathroom. Alex was punctual and friendly. We don't know how cost compares, especially since we paid a premium for a weekend visit. However, we were satisfied with Alex's work and appreciated the availability to service our plumbing issue on a Saturday morning.
My water heater failed in the middle of the night by spewing steam and leaking into its drip pan. The main water valve had to be shut off due to constant filling of the tank. I scheduled Reliance to install a new one for the following afternoon. If Reliance had no availability I would have had no water for several days possibly. All I had to do was go buy a new water heater of my choice and they would do the rest. Brian the plumber arrived on time and installed the new water heater perfectly. The quality of the work is second to none.
He fixed the RPZ, and said t was leaking and left it leaking asked me to call them again or other plumber to fix. If he did not know how to fix, he should not have attempted and should not have left it non functioning. Very irresponsible, He did give many reasons why its leaking but none made sense. I asked him this never happened before for all these years and he gave me a stupid explanation. He should have admitted his mistake, it would have been better.
Avoid this company at all costs. Like many others before me, they come out demanding their $89 “consultant fee” when I didn’t need any consulting. It was routine sewer clean out maintenance and replacing a leaky hose spigot. Maybe $50 of parts and an hour or two of work, and they wanted over $1,500 to compete the work. Outrageously high predatory pricing trying to take advantage of consumers hoping they won’t (or can’t) get other estimates.
On time, quick repairs, great communication, reasonable prices. Alex and the Reliance team has been my go to plumbing company for many years now. They have done several minor and more complicated repairs on my family owned 100+ year old 6 flat in the Edgewater neighborhood. Their techs have always been great, even on the more complicated jobs. If the job is more than I can handle, I know I can rely on Reliance.
I made the mistake of thinking I could replace my hose bib by myself and slightly flooded my basement. Thankfully Brian from Reliance came out same day and quickly diagnosed the problem. He clearly explained my options and installed a brand new hose bib in a timely and professional manner. Next time I have a plumbing issue, I’ll save myself the hassle and just call Brian and the team at Reliance.
We had an issue with our booster pump and it needed to be replaced. We had a new one installed and also had them install a bypass system so that we could still have whole house water even if the booster pump fails again. John was the main technician and was supported by Scott. Both were exemplary. They answered all our questions and did great work. We would highly recommend Reliance Plumbing.
Alex Ortega answered my call to Reliance Plumbing. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was also very pleasant with whom to deal. I've been dealing with Reliance for over a decade now for various issues. They have always been professional and helpful. They obviously have high standards and employ the best of the best. I recommend them to anyone and everyone I know. Thank you!
My experience with Reliance was excellent from the initial phone call making the appointment to David's work in my home. I knew I had a serious sewer problem and was looking for a 2nd opinion and quote for the work that needed to be done. David did an outstanding job of explaining what was going on and offering several options to address it. I will not hesitate to call Reliance again.
