Very professional and courageous! Replaced main sewer lateral from house to septic and installed a new toilet! Very neat workmanship and prompt service! Definitely recommend!
Chris came out to help our company out with a plumbing issue. He did a fantastic job and was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend their business.
I woke up New Year’s Day with no hot water. I called at just before noon, Mike and Chris were at my house shortly after 1 and worked until after 6PM installing a new water heater. I am very impressed with the workmanship and professionalism, I will call for Mike any time I need plumbing work.
Less than six months ago, Dunedin Plumbing replaced my water heater, a process that involved a lot of back-and-forth with the electrician, the city, and permits--an ordeal I recognize may not be entirely their fault. The replacement was expensive. Fast forward to this weekend, when I discovered the heating element in my unit had failed. I contacted their on-call plumber and explained my dad diagnosed the issue. He suggested my dad replace the element himself, which felt absurd. This should be covered under warranty. When I called back to say my dad wouldn't be doing the repairs, the plumber promised to arrive between 10 and 10:30 AM the next day. By noon, I hadn't heard anything, so I reached out--only to be ignored. My dad then left a voicemail, to which the plumber stated he couldn't "waste his time explaining" why he was no longer coming. This plumber was unprofessional, and Dunedin Plumbing's services are not worth the price. I'm left with no hot water and a useless four-month-old water heater. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
This review is another review not based on service, but the numerous reviews this company has for a driving record. Was tailgated by one of there vans, until the car in front of me had to make an emergency stop, do to someone pulling out in front of them. The DPV flew around my car almost side swiping me and the car in front of me. The DPV then cut the car off in front of me and the proceeds to tailgate another car. I understand it's Christmas time and traffic is bad, but this is totally uncalled for and someone could have gotten hurt. Being late to a job is not worth someone's life!
Update: 5/17/2020 we had a major leak with the toilette they installed. Didn't know because the water was leaking to the first floor area. Our ceiling caved in because the wax ring didn't set right. Called them on 5/16 and told operator we needed someone out as soon as possible. No one ever called me back. On 5/17 I called in the AM again. About 15 minutes later I had someone calling me back rudely telling me my toilet is not an emergency. Also told me they don't warranty their work so I need to expect to pay at least 350.00 for them to come out. I needs this fixed so I told them to come out. Guess what. They never came or called. I landed up having to call another company to reseat to toilet. Stay far away from these people. I've used them twice because they are very familiar with our condos as they do most of the repairs. Because of that reason only I called them. First time was related to a shower faucet and bathroom sink faucet that were old and not working right. I pre bough the supplies I wanted them to use to replace. I had to be at work so my mother who is elderly was there to let them in. Somehow they talked her into letting them rebuild our old junk telling her the we would be able to save all this money by returning our new supplies. When I got home and saw they charged 350.00 to rebuild 1990's faucets I was shocked. Why would anyone want that when I had brand new good stuff sitting right there for them. Second time I tried again. Toilet repair. Of course they said I needed a new toilet. Again not home so I gave the okay. I am fine with having to buy a new toilet. However, they charged 450.00 for some toilet brand that no one has ever heard of. Gerber? I thought that was just baby food. Cheap toilet that doesn't even have soft closing lid. I will not use these guys ever again. They use cheap stuff and bandaid your plumbing so it won't last. I guess I know why our property has constant plumbing issues.....they are the ones "fixing it".
I hired Dunedin Plumbing to install a new water heater. They scheduled a plumber to do the job the following day. And they promptly pulled the permit and were able to schedule the city inspector the very next day. So far, so good. But the plumber who came out showed up in a badly damaged van that had been sideswiped by another vehicle and which was quite dirty and haphazardly packed with tools and supplies. But the plumber was friendly and so I gave him the benefit of doubt. But, right away, he had great difficulty draining the 6 year old water heater being replaced due to a slow leak. After several trips to his van for more tools, he brought in an incredibly filthy shop wet vacuum to help drain the water heater. I even commented to him that it was incredibly dirty and looked to be in disrepair. In turning it on, this wet vacuum began to dump large amounts of dirt onto the floor and spray dirty water that got all over everything including my white walls. He tried to keep that from happening by applying rags to stop the spraying. But, he clearly should never have used this incredibly filthy wet vacuum. To his credit, He did try to clean up the mess with a roll the paper towels that I supplied him. But I clearly needed to bring in a housekeeper just to clean up the stains on the floor and the walls that he had caused. The other thing that happened was that he kept having to go back to his truck to get tools that he admitted he had forgotten. Because we were in a high security condominium building, I had to escort him every time, burning up my time and his on a "time and materials" job. To his credit, he deducted the time that was wasted in these multiple trips and in attempting to clean up the mess he had created from the final bill. And he was very pleasant with me during the entire job which he did fully complete.
I closed on my townhome in February 2019, had Dunedin Plumbing install a new toilet up and down in March 2019. And Sunday at 8:30pm I heard dripping from the ceiling- I turned and the ceiling was opening. I immediately called Dunedin Plumbing and they said it was a higher cost on Sundays so they came and shut off the water and left. Monday Tyler from Dunedin Plumbing came back and said whoever did the remodeling on the upstairs bathroom screwed up so it wasn't their issue and then he charged me $105. for nothing. Note: the remodeling was done over a decade ago. Even though Dunedin Plumbing installed a toilet 6 months earlier, "it wasn't their error" Tyler said. Then he called a contractor immediately from Synergy Restoration and Rob showed up and told me it was 27,000 in damages. Rob then went through my home owners insurance and stopped, stating "your home owners insurance requires you to use their preferred vendors so our time is up". And just like that he left. As a first time home owner I was devastated and called my home owner insurance soon as they left. They sent over a rapid response team that day and another plumber to assess the damage and both said, "if Dunedin Plumbing installed it right you wouldn't of had this issue". They continued, "if the remodeling was done wrong they would have noticed 6 months ago, not now". They took pictures, did moisture measurements, and said I wasn't being told the truth. They told me I should get a refund of at least the 105.00 from dunedin. I have called 2x now and no return call. I will be sure to send this to my HOA who recommended me to use them. They clearly do not stand behind their work- Michele
Buyers beware! This outfit is a total sham. They insisted I give them a credit card over the phone to come out and bid a small job for me. I complied. They called me while onsite with their bid. Their bid was 2 1/2 times what another outfit had quoted me. I wanted to tell them to go pound sand but instead, I told them sorry, too expensive. Two weeks later they charge my credit card $99.00. I called them and asked them what that was all about and the telephone operator tells me that they have a minimum service charge of $99.00 for the first 20 minutes and tough luck to me. I then spoke to the owner and his response was "too bad, this is the way it is." As he hung up on me he told me to "have a nice day." When I made the appointment, they never mentioned anything about charging for an estimate. Until now, I've never ever been charged for an estimate from a plumber. Today I went to their office to discuss this matter with the owner who would only give me his first name "Glen." I asked for his business card and he said no, get out of my store and then he proceeded to call me a "schmuck." I promise you, I did not provoke him in any way. I just asked him to refund the $99. Being Jewish, I knew what the word "schmuck" means. I asked him he knew what word meant and he refused to answer. This is one anti-semite outfit you want to steer clear of.
My mother contacted Dunedin plumbing for a slow flushing toilet issue. They came out and snaked the problem toilet and washer, barely tested if toilet was flushing correctly. The employee did not wait to see if washer drained and finished up as quick as he could. After being charged 244.00, the next day, the bathroom he suppsingly fix was not flushing and then the main bathroom had slow flushing issues which wasn't a problem before he worked on the bedroom toilet. After calling them back, a different guy came came out and said he wouldn't charge her for equipment snake and fixed both main toilet and original bedroom toilet which she originally called about. She was then charged $322 for them to come back out and fix two toilets when one wasn't an issue in the first place and only started acting up after the first plumber came out for the bedroom toilet. She was charged a total of $566 dollars which is absolutely ridiculous when the original problem wasn't fixed and actually made things worse. She contacted Jim, the owner. And complained about how her situation was handled and he wouldn't remove any charges which is absolutely ridiculous. How do you justify charging someone for fixing a problem you created and didn't even fix the original issue? Completely unprofessional and we will never use this company again.
I first want to say ditto to Tim S review. I called Dunedin Plumbing figuring they are reputable and I like doing business locally. However, I already knew I needed a new water heater and did not need to pay $145 to tell me I needed a water heater. First he gave me outrageous quote for a new one. Upon discovering that my existing water heater is still under warranty. He called the office but they would not go to get the replacement for Bradford White. I got some kind of story that they had warranty replacements before with Bradford White and did not get paid. I think they did not want to bother and that was a lie. Dunedin plumbing also stated on my invoice that the customer cancelled, which is also a lie. You are the ones that would not perform the service I requested which is to get the water heater under the warranty. I called two other plumbing companies who had no issue honoring my warranty. All they had to do was go to Ferguson plumbing to pick up the Bradford white. They are the ones that deal with the warranty. The other two plumbing companies were outraged that they charged a service fee to do NOTHING. I will never call Dunedin Plumbing again nor will they every get recommended. SHAME on them.
I had a pipe leak in the guest bathroom and scheduled Dunedin Plumbing to repair the pipe. They sent Bob and an apprentice. Bob had the young man perform the repair. They cut out a small section of the pipe. The next day I woke to find water outside the guest bathroom the pipe was leaking from the area that had just been repaired by Dunedin plumbing. Called them right away where they told me that the plumber will not be able to address it till much later in the day. They did finally get the plumber Bob back to repair it. He claimed the leak was not from his work but a new pinhole an inch away from the original. Here are photos showing that the leak was from the area they soldered. Due to all the water I had to have a water remediation team come and dry the floors and walls. I contacted Dunedin Plumbing (Scott and Jim) to get them recognize or take responsibility for causing the damage cover the costs of remediation. The owners Scott and Jim were very rude denied responsibility and hung up on and said they were done with me. Do not use them as everyone else has said they do not stand by their work. They are very rude and have no customer service.
Our newly-purchased (old) condo ended up with "hidden" serious plumbing problems, not mentioned by the standard home inspector at time of purchase, resulting in outrageous insurance costs unless we spent about $4K on former owners' jerry-rigged systems (plumbing and electrical). Rick and Zac of Dunedin Plumbing spent almost a whole day with us, making all the plumbing stuff right, including a new hot-water-heater to replace the prior corrosion encrusted pipe and replace PVC with copper. They also had to replumb all three under-sink pipes, which had angles which were not consistent with good drainage. Rick is very good at explaining how something that might seem OK to owners is actually deleterious long-term and could possibly be dangerous. His friendly personality and good humor were very reassuring -- pleasant to have in the home. For the amount of time and materials, the cost was reasonable, setting the stage for prevention of future disasters. Office Manager Chantal was also very pleasant and knowledgeable, keeping good track of our needs and progress over about a one-month process.
Over the last 6 months, Dunedin Plumbing has really come through with solving some my plumbing emergencies. They did a great job of discovering a leaking pipe in an exterior wall of our kitchen and then replaced a leaking water heater. As normal, you're given a written quote for their services prior to commencing the work. With the leaking pipe we were given a detailed itemized quote delineating parts and labor. The quote we got for the replacement water heater was a single lump cost with no itemization. I felt a little uncomfortable about not knowing how much the water heater actually cost. All we were told was that the tank was a "top of the line" model. I ended up Googling it online to find out the cost. As with most services, the equipment is about a third of the total cost of the job. With the water heater, it usually takes a day or so for installation due to permits and tank availability. I hope that the company itemizes ALL quotes so the consumer can make an informed decision. We will continue to use Dunedin Plumbing when the need arises. They have a great team.
A company I have used since I moved into my house 28 years ago. I kept using them as I thought some of the techs were good but at times had to oversee the work to make sure they were working. They charge by the hour and need to make sure they are actually working. They will never give you a quote to do the job. This last visit was a price gouge. Americans wonder why inflation is high look no further than this. They show up without any equipment to perform the job(jack hammer). They do not get started until 52 minutes later while just sitting around when a shut off valve could have been done. Another tech arrived an hour later to charge double for a 30 minute install. I have Ring video proof as well as other cameras showing what went down. Some unprofessional by the name of Jim had said to send the videos/pics of times and he gives you bogie email addresses not once but twice. Lost a long time customer but that is the new American way-poor work ethic and absolutely no customer service. Not worth my time anymore. Karma.....
