2 BR 2 Bath complete slab (patio) home repipe. Extremely happy with the project results and the professionalism, communication, consideration, respect, and customer service from this company throughout the project and the first class crew that made it happen. Johnny Galivan was project estimator and manager. Nicholas Coley was journeyman licensed plumber lead with Adam and Gabe rounding out the Greer SC based crew. Jeane Robinson from Charleston offices handled the scheduling and financing. All were great and so was the work. 37 year old copper and PB piping (standard 1975 to 1995) was replaced with PEX piping complete from the meter and throughout the home including proper PRV station, shutoff valves, and access panels. I was concerned with amount of drywall patching that could be required with a job like this and the team was fantastic at keeping that to a minimum. Cold weather concerns were addressed with insulation and replacement pipe routing. Preferred Home Services labor and materials warranty also helps ease that concern. Johnny gave me fair and competitive pricing for the work and good advice as I made my decision between Preferred and a less expensive local (smaller) plumber I considered. If considering a similar large project BE SURE personnel and the job lead is licensed! Many smaller plumbing companies can perform the work under the owners license but be aware that potential future insurance coverage (such as a pipe burst) may not be covered if repipe work was not DIRECTLY performed by a licensed plumber, (depending on your insurance). Also drywall work would have been much more extensive and costly with the small plumber option. If you are contemplating a planned or emergency whole home repipe due to old piping age or failures, I highly reccomend you consider this company and crew!

Made an appointment to have my HVAC serviced and a plumbing issue fixed. I made it very clear that I needed them both at once because of time constraints. Appointment was made between 8-10 am. The plumber showed up at 9:30 and left a mess, the HVAC guy didn’t show up at all! Not even a phone call to let me know what was going on or that he wasn’t coming, nothing! There’s a lot more to this mess, these are just the highlights. I am a local business owner and my time is very important to me, obviously not to Preferred Home Services. Very bad first impression and customer service. Don’t do business with them! And their $240 “membership” service fee in non refundable and a joke, don’t fall for that scam either!

We had PHS install a backflow protector and dig a new drain field in our yard in December after our sewage backed up in our house from a blocked pipe somewhere in the line. The initial consult was fine and the techs showed up but the job was extremely rushed because the said they had to be at their next job. They completely destroyed our entire yard. They said they "were plumbers, not landscapers" which I get, BUT, we couldn't even open our fence because the dirt was a foot higher than it should be and our entire yard looks like a plowed field. We can't even walk through it without twisting an ankle. After asking them to do better, they agreed that it was a mess and they sent someone else back to try to do a better job at leveling the yard. Their "rushed fix" didn't actually "fix" anything. We now have a huge standing water issue and our yard is a lake that doesn't drain-all the way up to the walls of my house. We have NEVER had standing water issues and we've now gotten two quotes from other companies to try to repair the damage from PHS and it's going to cost us another 15k on top of the 10k that PHS charged us for the drain-field. We don't have that kind of money to fix something that should not have been broken to begin with. We're extremely frustrated with the whole experience and don't have a way to fix the issue without spending a fortune to install a massive French drain system, bring in top soil, level, and re-sod. What a disaster! We don't know what to do now.

After an absolutely miserable three days dealing with a home sewage nightmare, I was at my wits’ end. I called five different companies, and every single experience left me disappointed; some were unprofessional, some were clearly just chasing a paycheck, and none inspired any confidence. Then I called Preferred Home Services… and wow, the third time really was the charm! From the very first phone call to the moment they packed up, everything was perfect. The team was incredibly knowledgeable, honest, courteous, and genuinely cared about solving the problem the right way (not just the most expensive way). They explained everything clearly, worked efficiently, and treated my home with respect. I can’t thank Chris Crawford, John Galavan, and Preferred Home Services enough for turning a terrible situation into a surprisingly positive experience. You’ve earned a customer for life, and I will happily recommend you to everyone I know. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for a great job well done! You have all my future business… Amen to that! 🙌 Jim Anderson —-> GO NAVY!
