We had two separate issues come up and had the pleasure of working with Carlos and Daniel. I have to say we have been having issues with the plumbing and pipes since we moved in around 5 years ago and never have we had such a positive experience. They were knowledgeable. They were quick. They were kind and willing to answer any questions that we had and it was clear that they were professionals. I felt comfortable signing up for the membership, because if these are the type of people that are coming out to help I know it'll a quality service and worth it. Thanks again for coming out. Super appreciated.

Precision Today installed my water heater last year (2025) . Near the anniversary of the install, I called to have them do the annual inspection & possible drain of the water tank. It was easy to get the appointment. Michael, the technician, was on time. He quickly did a general inspection of my plumbing & any possible issues that may have to be dealt with soon (it's also part of my maintenance plan). He quickly took care of the water tank. He was very courteous & knowledgable. I have been a customer of Precision Today for several years

The technician Ray Santiago did an excellent job. He was very kind and polite in explaining the work he would be doing. He took his time repairing the bathroom sink faucets and replacing the old valves. This was our first service with Precision Today, and we are truly satisfied with the work he did. We will definitely contact you again if we need their services in the future, and of course, we highly recommend you. Thank you for your services!

I am very disappointed with the recent service and the overall handling of my account. If a technician cannot replace a clearly dirty filter or at least document the issue on the work completion form, how is a customer supposed to trust that the rest of the job was completed properly? The new filters for both the humidifier and furnace were readily available in the home at the time of the visit. When I called the main office, I was told the technician “did not want to be rude” by changing the filter. That explanation is not acceptable. He could have asked my wife, who was present, informed her that the filters needed replacement, or at minimum documented it before obtaining her signature. In addition, two maintenance visits in 2025 were missed despite our prepaid contract for biannual service. When I brought this to their attention, the initial response was, “You could have called us if we had not called you.” That is not a professional way to handle missed contracted services. We paid in advance with the expectation that your company would track and fulfill the agreed-upon visits. The minimum expected response would have been an apology and a reasonable solution, such as extending the contract by another year or offering a refund for the missed services. This experience raises serious concerns about accountability and customer service. I am editing this review 45 minutes later to add that the heater is now not blowing hot air; only the fan is running. The furnace was working properly before the technician arrived, and the service document states that everything was functioning fine at the time of inspection. This raises even more concern about the quality and thoroughness of the work performed.

First, the good: their reception/dispatch was very friendly and responsive when I called, and they were able to get me scheduled for the next morning, which was great. Also, the $59 service fee to come out was reasonable, assuming that the job would be accurately diagnosed. Now, for the not-so-great and the reason I felt it would be helpful for me to leave this review to give others a heads up: Also, when I made the appointment, I asked if they would be sending a licensed plumber, and I was told that all of their plumbers are licensed and bonded. The guy/tech who came out was not actually a plumber, he was a sewer & drain guy, which I was okay with - but he was not licensed, so being told that they only send licensed plumbers was not in fact the case. He was friendly, professional and respectful of my home, though, so no complaints with who they did send out. The reason I did not choose to select Precision Today is because their PRICES ARE EXTREMELY HIGH. My problem was straight forward, my kitchen sink was not draining. The tech seemed confident (while did not guarantee) that the line just needed to be rodded. My husband had tried rodding it himself, but the store bought rodder he got was not long enough to fully snake the pipes and locate the clog (assuming there is one). I had already priced out rodding with a local, family-owned plumbing company that had been recommended by a neighbor but did not have an available appointment until later, so I knew what the going rate was. Precision's quote was MORE THAN DOUBLE what it would cost me with another plumber who charges $125 trip charge plus $100 per hour, assuming it would take up to 2 hours. The job would have to take over 5 hours @ $100/hr to cost us as much as Precision's most 'basic' rodding service offered. And, you have to agree to pay that without a firm cause determined, with no guarantee that rodding will even address the issue. I was not willing to 1) overpay for rodding, or 2) pay for rodding then pay who-knows-what to have them then check the vent (which appears to be the other potential cause of the problem).

After smelling gas in our utility room, we called NICOR to have them check for a leak. Two leaks were detected in the pipes. NICOR marked the locations and turned off the gas, leaving us without heat and hot water. We immediately called AWE (the company we have used for many, many years for maintenance and repair of our AC and furnace) and asked for a plumber to come out to fix the leaks. The plumber worked on the pipes for 2 hours or so, and determined it was best to do a temporary fix on the pipe with the significant leak, to get us heat for the night. His decision was due in part because he didn't have the supplies/tools needed to make the permanent fix! NICOR came back out after he completed the temporary fix and turned the gas back on. The same plumber returned the next afternoon to start the permanent fix. After more than six hours the two pipes with leaks were "fixed." The plumber told us that the pipes were no longer leaking and the strong gas smell would dissipate. He charged us over $2,000 and we thought we were good to go. NICOR returned after the permanent job was completed, tested for leaks, and gas was still detected. The percentage was even higher than what was previously detected and sometime throughout this whole process, a new leak was found in a connection that the plumber had disassembled and reassembled. NICOR turned the gas off once again. This same process continued for 5 days. A plumber would come out, claim he fixed the leaks, NICOR would come back, find leaks were still detected, and shut off the gas. Precision sent 3 different plumbers for a total of 5 service calls before the last plumber finally solved the problem. Nicor restored the gas, and we finally had heat and hot water after 4 days without! We would call Precision Today to tell them about the continued leaks after they "fixed" it, and the customer service rep who answered the phone would always express their concern and say that they would notify dispatch. Multiple times, hours would pass (or even into the next day) before we would get a return call or a plumber would show up. Aren't you a 24/7 emergency company? Eventually, when we would call Precision Today, and ask to speak with a manager. "Oh yes, I will put a message through to the manager and have him call you." was their canned reply. Again, days would pass before the manager would return our call. Don't be fooled by their website and marketing: "We employ trained, certified plumbers and technicians, and our team is dedicated to superior service in everything we do. We strive to get the work done right the first time and hold our team to high standards." "If we don't exceed your expectations, we'll give you your money back. That's our industry-leading guarantee, which you get every time you work with Precision Today." Neither of those statements could be farther from the truth. We have ended our HVAC preventative maintenance agreement, and will never use this company again. Be warned!! UPDATE: We received a phone call from a supervisor who acknowledged our concerns. We appreciated his phone call.

This will be a rather long review due to the significant effort by the Precision Today technician to make up problems so that the cost of repair would push me to buy a new furnace. For years, I have been an AWE (Air, Water and Energy) customer. They installed a new furnace in 2013 which had been maintained annually by an AWE technician without having any problems. AWE was basically taken over by Precision Today and on January 9 was the first time a Precision Today technician conducted a maintenance service of my furnace. Based on his inspection, I needed to replace three things that amounted to $2,900. In addition, he felt the heat exchanger should be replaced, soon, because it was in "bad shape". The quote for replacing the heat exchanger was $2,800. The system performance check sheet he gave me basically said that I needed to "repair immediately" or replace. In addition, he said that the operation of the furnace was "to unsafe". He then told me that it would be better to simply get a new furnace and quoted me for $7,785, which he told me was the "top of the line" Lennox furnace. I asked him if there was a new furnace like my current furnace. He said a furnace like mine would probably cost more. I checked the Lennox website to find out their replacement furnace for mine was less expensive than what he quoted. In all the years that I have had technicians providing maintenance, NO technician ever gave me a quote, on the spot, for a new furnace or a/c. If they thought I might need something new, they would give me an idea of costs, but they said I would have to talk with a salesperson. All of this seemed odd to me, since, as I said, I had been religious about annual maintenance. I decided to have technicians from ABC plumbing and Four Seasons do a maintenance service. Both technicians said everything was fine, but that there were areas I should watch, however nothing needed to be done. I specifically asked about the problem areas noted by the Precision Today technician. They both said there wasn't a problem. In fact, a leaking problem the Precision Today technician cited was fix by simply tightening a screw. I don't know if the Precision Today technician had been instructed to create repair problems to push for new equipment, or if he was on some sort of commission if new equipment was sold. I doubt he did this on his own and I am sure that the management of Precision Today instructs their technician to do this type of approach. I asked the ABC and Four Seasons technicians if they would ever quote a new piece of equipment which both said "no" and it would have to come from their sales department. I also showed the Precision Today "System Performance Report" to the ABC and Four Seasons technicians. They could not believe what was identified. I do see there a lot of good reviews on google for this company. BUT I basically found their technician to be disreputable and therefore the same for Precision Today. Proceed at your own risk.

For many years, we were customers of AWE out of Carol Stream. Great company in every respect. Then they were swallowed by Precision. I’ll be cancelling our service agreement with them. - First furnace visit as Precision. The tech was in the basement for 50 minutes; far longer than a typical HVAC tune up. Once I was emailed the receipt, I understood why when I saw the pictures in the receipt. This tech spent time wandering around our basement taking photos of everything related to electrical, air and plumbing. Opening breaker boxes, our water treatment system, in-duct air purification, etc. I wrote Precision that no tech was ever to do this again without permission. No response. - Second visit and the tech zeroed in on our in-duct whole house air purification system. He pitched theirs as far better. I asked him to explain, he couldn’t… and called ours junk. I then informed him they were designed and manufactured by my company. Deer in the headlights look. He immediately pivoted to the need to change the 5” air filter (which I change every 6 months) pointing to pressure drop due to a clogged filter. I had just changed it the week before, and pulled it to show to him. No response. I told him to wrap it up. The biggest issue I have? AWE customer service would always proactively phone me when it was time for both the AC and furnace check-ups, and schedule them a few weeks out. Precision does no such thing. I pay monthly for their service plan, and you’d better make a note to call because they certainly won’t be calling you. I phoned them last week for the annual AC check, spoke with an AI assistant (no actual person, good luck), and was given a date in August. Completely unacceptable. - Many other reviewers complain about them upselling while in the home. Yes, definitely, in my experience. And their responses don’t deny that; they simply apologize. (Residential and commercial water treatment was my business for many years. I know the system as well or better than they do.) If you’re going to tout the number of customers you have as a positive, it would make sense to staff accordingly. Precision has none of the customer service capabilities that we experienced with AWE. There are far too many properly sized companies that will gladly work for and earn our business. Now… we’ll see what kind of monies they’ll be refunding for the prepaid service.

CONSUMERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! READ REVIEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a leaking water heater and didn't have time to shop around and get estimates so I went ahead and scheduled with this company since they were local and had decent Yelp reviews. The tech that showed up was courteous, did a good job, and cleaned up after the work was completed so no problems there. I have two issues with this company. First issue is with their pricing which is ridiculously high and basically a rip off so my advice is for you is get some other estimates before choosing this company. Actually my recommendation is to not even use this company. Again I knew the estimate was outrageous but based on timing constraints on my end, I went ahead with the work. Here was the scope of work. Replace a 40 gallon gas water heater. It was a 6 year warranty contractor grade AMERICAN® water heater probably no more than $600. There was some additional piping replacement, replaced flue pipe, gas valve, shut-off valve. All minor work I would estimate the parts at no more than $100. I was charged around $1900 total for the job. Let's do some math. The guy showed up, scoped the job, generated an estimate, did all the work, wrote up the invoice, took payment and was all done and gone in around 3 hours. $1900 minus $700 of materials is $1200 for labor. That's $400/hour. The guy even tells me the rate is high because they have to charge for travel and a bunch of other misc crap. Second issue with with the product they resell. The AMERICAN® water heater is a piece of crap. The shower and sink faucets have to have the cold water almost turned off in order to get any hot water. I already have the temperature setting on the water heater set higher than normal. Any higher of a setting and the water would be dangerously scolding. I did not have this problem with the old water heater with any of the faucets. I think the guy even knew he sells a crappy product and this is a known issue because he told me if I don't get enough hot water to try turning up the temperature setting on the water heater. If you like an inferior product and getting ripped off, then go ahead and give them a call otherwise keep looking. Trust me, reading this post just saved you a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Wow, wish I would've looked at Yelp reviews after seeing their "five star" rating on Google. I used them because I had a coupon which they honored even though it was expired, so that was nice. Turns out I really needed it though because the prices advertised on their website are complete lies. No hidden fees, what a joke! And no, I'm not referring to the $59 dispatch fee as an unexpected cost. All of the customer services reps, dispatchers, and water heater technician TJ were very nice and efficient. Our sewer technician Alex not so much. The advertised $99 sewer camera inspection became $260 because he had to access it inside even though no one at any point (even within the website promo's fine print) mentioned that $99 was for outside access only. I don't know if we had an outside access point, and he didn't even ask or check before going inside. He made up a false reason on the spot that the $99 promo is only in combination with a cleaning... then customer service later said it was due to the access point, which was after I reluctantly agreed to the higher cost so he could get started. The advertised $59 water heater flush became $110 for no reason at all. And the standard price, without the promo, is listed as $79 on their website. What??? Thankfully, the technician honored the $59 promo after seeing it one the website (which was a complete surprise to him... you love to see it). Pricing wasn't the only issue. Alex, the technician that did my sewer line camera inspection, left a disgusting mess behind. Sewer water splatters everywhere. To be fair, before he parted, he asked if I was ok with cleaning up. I thought he meant putting everything I had to pull out of the utility closet back in, not sewage cleanup. Come on, man... have some common decency and wipe up the obvious sewage splatters on my walls, floors, and doors before charging me double what your company advertises... I'm only giving them more than one star because they honored an expired coupon, had a very efficient dispatch system, and one of our technicians was very friendly.

If I could give Precision Today 0 stars, I would. I do my own sewer rodding every year, but recently I got a large blade stuck in my sewer pipe somewhere with my machine and could not get it out. I called Precision and they sent out a plumber. They charged me $457 for a camera diagnosis, which was expensive but fine. After the diagnosis, the plumber said he located my blade right under my front sidewalk and made a large X with tape. He said it would be an additional $1930 to dig through my sidewalk and retrieve the blade. I said OK and approved the job. After he dug through my sidewalk and took it all apart, he discovered that the blade was actually not there, but somewhere else. He then told me it would be an additional $1930 to dig another hole somewhere else to retrieve the blade. I argued with the plumber that he misdiagnosed the location in the first place and that I shouldn’t be charged for the second dig. He contacted his manager and they would not do it unless I paid for the second $1930 dig. They also would not put my sidewalk back together since they don’t do landscaping. I basically told them to get out and that I would do it myself and never call them back again. So, I was charged about $2400 for absolutely nothing, plus my sidewalk was torn up, which I spent weeks trying to get back together. The cable to my machine was also snipped, so I don’t have my machine anymore. It was atrocious. If they did the second dig and they misdiagnosed the location yet again and had to do a third dig, would they have charged me yet another $1930? I wasn’t going to find out. Zero Stars. They should have made it right with the job, but they did nothing but wrong. I will warn all of my friends and acquaintances to never call them.

I previously used Five Star Heating to service my HVAC system. They were great. Unfortunately, the owner retired and sold the company to Precision Today. Precision Today has proven to be unreliable. My first experience was last fall. In the first week of November, I called to schedule my annual furnace inspection/tune-up. The earliest available date they had was after Christmas! So, I called Ibbotson and had my furnace service done ten days later. Over the following several months, I received multiple unsolicited e-mail messages from Precision Today touting their services. So, I decided to try Precision Today for my spring Air Conditioning maintenance. About ten days ago, I scheduled an appointment for today, although they would not commit to any specific time period. On Friday, they sent me a text message requesting that I confirm my availability for the appointment, which I did confirm. After waiting all morning today for a technician to arrive, I received a phone call shortly before noon informing me that a technician would not be coming today and requested that I reschedule. I chose to cancel instead. This experience reminded me of the Seinfeld episode with the rental car company in which Jerry tells the rental car representative "I don't think you know how reservations work. You know how to TAKE the reservations, you just don't know how to HOLD the reservations." Perhaps someone in management at Precision Today previously worked at a rental car company! It looks like Ibbotson will be getting all of my HVAC work in the future. I suggest that anyone considering Precision Today choose a different HVAC contractor.

CONSUMER BEWARE!! Wish you could select no stars... I called Precision Today when my hot water heater was leaking and water was coming through the walls of my neighbor's home below me. A plumber from this company arrived within an hour and, after completing an assessment, presented me with four options ranging from $4500-$10000. I was in disbelief that the cost of replacing the unit would cost this much. My neighbor was very upset and, in a panic, I asked him to just replace the unit...don't want the service plan and all the other upselling he was trying to do. A few hours later, the job was done and I was presented with an invoice for $4572.00...unbelievable. The invoice did not break down the cost of materials or labor. I asked for this and the plumber said that they do not provide this information. After a few phone calls to the company, I finally received and email (not a revised invoice) that stated the materials costs were $2765.38 and the total cost of the job including travel, assessment fee, and 1 year warranty came to $4572.00. Simple math tells me that they charged me $2293.38 for labor. At best, it took the plumber 3 hours to complete this job which equate to $760/hr for labor...really? It's hard for me to believe that this company can take advantage of people and have a 4.94 rating with the BBB. I'm left with the question, "Do they pick and choose who to take advantage of? Maybe single women who are in a panic situation with water leaking in their home?" It can't be true that all these folks who give them high ratings are very satisfied if they had been ripped off too.

Bad news!!! technician Hazim Qaisi "Carlos" came out to clean & check. I was still on my way home as my wife was there. Made me aware of problems w/furnace. By the time I got home, showed me pics on his tablet of burn spots on circuit board & worn spots on heater exchanger. Potential fire & carbon monoxide hazard. Before I knew it, we talked about replacement & cost. WOW! $14,000+ for a furnace & humidifier in our avg size 1,800 sq ft raised ranch home. I think not. Bottom line, it scared us into replacing with another company for under $5,000. We contacted our family member at All temp heating/ac to help us. Made an exception for us because we live out of their area. We chose to replace without another $100 clean/inspect visit. All temp installed & I looked at old furnace after removed & taken apart. I DIDN'T NEED IT. My mistake was not asking Carlos @ Precision to show me my furnace & not those pictures that were not of my furnace. My circuit board was clean as was my heater exchanger without any worn spots. I could've made the biggest mistake, by buying the $14,000 furnace from Precision. They've helped us w/plumbing repair, but no more. They are expensive & not honest. Carlos was friendly & even tried to offer 20% for his last stop of the day, per his text from boss. An "oh by the way" sales tactic. You think their honest because Carlos emailed some of the pics of our unit. he rigged furnace to make a noise when he showed me. But I first suspected something was wrong, when the noise stopped when he left.

I've used this company for several years now. I don't have a complaint about the technicians, they have all been wonderful over the years. Recently though, I made an appt. to have my tankless water heater descaled and my whole house water filters replaced. The tech came out and replaced my water filters on the scheduled date, but did not have a descaling kit. I had to schedule another appt. The day of that appt. came and went and no one showed up. Next day got a message that I need to reschedule, so I did, The woman I talked to told me I could get a weekend appt, so it was scheduled for a Sunday, and that appt. was no call/no show. I didn't receive any kind of message at all, so next day I called and asked to speak to a manager, but no one was available and a message was left for someone to call me after I made another appt. for Thursday as I was told I could not make a weekend appt. No manager ever called. I just called again and left a message for a manager to call me. One person tells me no weekend appts. unless its an emergency and another tells me I can get a weekend appt. I work Mon-Fri an hour from home and can't take time off to get this done because I just started a new job. It should have been done the day my filters were replaced, as scheduled. They don't seem to want to accommodate working people at all lately. I paid for a subscription too and if this doesn't get resolved or if no one shows up to do my furnace cleaning which is scheduled for this Saturday, I'm asking for my money back and finding another service.
