The vacuum breaker on an outdoor faucet had failed during our latest freeze resulting in a busted frost proof pipe extension. This was not discovered until nearly a month after the freeze when attempting to use a garden hose. I called Plumb Shield and let them know the about the issue and informed them that it was NOT a pressing matter. They lady on the other informed me that, if i would like, they could have someone to my house within a few hours for an estimate. Terry and Damian arrived slightly before the prescribed window, allowed me to voice my concern and hypothesis, provided theirs, gave me a quote, and once I agreed promptly got to work rectifying the problem. Once all was done they then showed all that had occurred and went over some warning signs to be on the watch for so as to prevent this type of damage from occurring again. Very prompt, transparent, and professional. Thank you to Terry and Damian.
All I can say to service of this company and team that came out to fix my problem was AMAZING. Discovered leak in my flowerbed and made a call. Next day arrival and communication by Nathan and team (Damian and Terry) was outstanding. He walked me step by step as to what the issue was, what next steps are, walked thru pricing and anticipated completion. Ended up having to replace my old gas heater as well. Also amazing was that Nathan and team worked around my time schedule and school pickup. Well organized and communication by office team to arrange city inspector, as well as, notice of arrival of city inspector within 2hr window was great. Absolutely outstanding group of individuals.. highly recommend for your plumbing needs
Terry and Damien were fantastic. They were professional, friendly, and quickly fixed our leaky garbage disposal. They solved the issue, and everything is now working perfectly. Highly recommend their service!
Do not use this plumbing service the prices are outrageous and if you're in an emergency like I was you'll have no choice to pay their extortion fee. They charged me 850 dollars for a spigot to be replaced after it had started leaking pretty badly. The owner is very disingenuous and had reported my wife's review as spam and had the audacity to call us "dishonest" awhile having her review taken down! He has a habit of disrespecting customers calling them dishonest if they call out his prices, do your due diligence and look at the lowest rating reviews and they'll explain everything! Very predatory and "dishonest", he lied to us saying the fees for labor were discussed on the phone, which mind you the only fee mentioned was the $200 emergency fee. They were more concerned about getting my card number while I was stressing about the leak. When the plumbers came then was I told it would be 650 dollars to replace the spigot. I had no choice to pay their fee since I didn't want my yard to flood. I was going to leave it alone but my wife saw how upset I was and she posted a google review. My attitude changed when he disrespected her and had the audacity to hide her review after calling us "dishonest". Mind you I will not have my integrity challenged or questioned given I have served over 8 years in the army. That's what crossed the line for me and caused me to make my review. If he hasn't reported my review as spam I suggest you look at my review on google that explains everything better. Oh here's my spigot for the cost of a cheap $850
My biggest issue with this company is the pricing and the owner. I really hope you respond. He had the audacity to question my wife’s and my integrity calling us “dishonest”. I have served honorably for our Nation for over 8 years and not once had I nor my wife tried to cheat our way or stab anyone in the back. I originally wasn’t going to leave a review because how much we were charged for a spigot to be replaced which mind you took 20 minutes. It really upset me and my wife could tell so she left a review that was later reported as spam by the owner and hidden from anyone else to see, as i or her mother cannot see it. I had called because my back yard spigot had spewed a leak. I called and was hung up the first time, this should have been my first hint. I called a 2nd time and the dispatcher told me I was to be charged 200 dollars for an emergency fee after I explained everything. I was hesitant since I thought that was steep and no other charge was explained for labor. I called again and their biggest concern was my card number while I was stressing over this leak. After I paid I was only told the plumbers arrival no other fees were explained. In his response he stated he told us all three times I was explained all charges, this isn’t true since the plumbers were the ones that told me. In other reviews he claims his lines are recorded so I hope this is true. When they came they explained they couldn’t do anything until they shut the water off and would give me an invoice before doing so. They did of course but I did not expect to pay $650 on top of the $200 emergency fee for them to replace a spigot! Google searches will show that on the high end it will be 450, not 650! Of course I was going to agree, what choice did I have? Let my yard flood or pay their predatory fee on a Saturday evening? Before they left they asked for a review, which again I wasn’t going to do. However the owner had the audacity to disrespect my wife with his comments, which crossed a line for me. I have viewed your responses to other dissatisfied customers and I am disgusted by the way you treat them when they call out your prices. You claimed your prices were “fair and competitive” to my wife however I did see your response to another customer that contradicts this claim, stating you don’t price match. Your claim that people accept these terms BEFORE you begin labor is very predatory considering some had urgent emergencies and like myself had no choice but to pay your fee. You also have had a habit of getting aggressive with reviewers when they call out your price gouging which I find unprofessional. We will be complaining to the better business bureau, it’s obvious you hide reviews that will hurt your business if consumers knew how much you charge. I added the photo of your company’s work, all for the low price of $850.
I am so disappointed in this company. They say 24 hour service, but if you call them in the middle of the night they charge you $200 just to come to your door step and schedule you a time for the next day (that is something that can be done over the phone for free). The lady on the phone tricked me into paying them an emergency fee and only said they couldn't guarantee it would be fixed tonight. Then when the plumber showed up, he said I only was coming to turn your water off for you and set you up for tomorrow (I had already had the city turn it off right before for free). I called her back in tears asking they give me my money back, and she said someone would call me tomorrow. This person called me and argued with me that I paid for someone to get up in the middle of the night and drive to my house like it was my fault they offer 24 hour service?? I asked if they could take any amount off the $200 since the plumber did absolutely nothing but knock on my door and talk to me for 3 minutes, and he said no. I also asked if the $200 could be applied to any work they did today, and he said no and that it was a fair price. I told him this was poor customer service, and he said, "I'm sorry you feel that way." I also said they need to train their call center lady better bc the way she explained it was not the way he nor his plumber explained it. He said she doesn't know what she is talking about because she is not the plumber and can't access the problem. When I repeated his words back to him he back tracked and said she explained it just fine and that he listened to the recorded call (which by the way, it never tells you its being recorded for quality or training purposes, so who knows if it's actually recorded and that they listen). I was in tears all over again. I can't believe that they would take money from people when they are in a bad situation and desperate for help. I felt taken advantage of. The last thing he said was I don't have time to argue with you, I have other calls I need to take but I will pass this information on to the owner and "he may or may not get back to you!" Wow, just wow. 🤦♀️ I picked this company because of the high reviews. I wish my experience was the same and could recommend them. Do NOT use this company. They took my money and ran with it. I have not heard back from anyone, and I canceled my appointment for them to fix it since they screwed me over and I did not trust them anymore. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I'm sure they will respond to this review with another argument that the call was recorded, and I authorized them to come out for $200, or I'm sorry you feel that way...blah blah blah. If the lady had just explained that it is very likely they won't even come inside your house for $200 and just set you up for the next day, I would have never paid. I am not dumb. I also don't give out bad reviews like this ever. So you can click on my account and see. I am not someone who appreciates being taken advantage of, and I wanted to make sure I help someone not make the same mistake. I learned my lesson.
These guys are liars and SOO took advantage of me! I had a plumbing issue around 9:30 on Valentine's night and couldn't find anyone to come out. Water cartridge was broken and I couldn't turn off the water at the tub, had to turn it off at the street. I was charged $200 JUST TO COME OUT to see what the problem was. This money does not go towards the repair, either. I was not in a position to turn off the water to my home for the next 18-24 hours so I didn't have much of a choice. They told me they usually have parts in the van for these issues. The kid gets to my house and tells me he doesn't have a part after all and it would have to wait until morning, but they still took my $200 for the Emergency call. He said he had to wait until morning to get to "the parts store" and I asked if we could just get a new faucet set at Lowe's or Wal Mart and just use that cartridge but he said that was not possible. So he came back the next morning, with the new part HE GOT AT LOWE'S ( yeah, he let that slip) which is literally less than $20 and then replaced the cartridge which is something I could have done on my own had I known that's all it was. So they get the cartridge in and charged me another $501. When I asked them to justify that, all I got were run around answers: well, we have to take the screws out and get that plate off to get to the cartridge - you know, dumb stuff like that. So, all in all, it cost me $700 for these bone-head scammers to change a simple cartridge in the wall. I will never - EVER - call them again and I will tell EVERYONE I know not to call them unless they want to be ripped off. This was frickin infuriating. The whole experience was disgusting. I don't mind paying for a service, but this was over the top a rip off. I hope they go out of business. UPDATE - I did speak to someone today, 3/1/24. They have no interest in doing the right thing. The guy hung up on me. This is the standard of Plumb Shield. If I had seen the reviews, I would have called someone else or waiting until morning. Done!
We called Plumb Shield Plumbing at 3028 Marquita Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76116 to repair a leak in our tankless water heater. The leak was on a pipe where another part was connected. I found out later this was a pump that was imperative to have on otherwise you will only get warm water and it wont be instant. The plumber (Terry) downplayed the need for the pump and gave us a quote to replace the pipe and leave off the pump. He did say we could order it ourselves and he would come back and put it on for another charge of $495, but since he downplayed the need for it, I thought it would be ok. Since I am not a plumber I just took his word that he could fix our problem and we would be fine. I guess he did this because he didnt have the part and wanted to do the job even if it wasnt done right. We paid $650 plus tax for this 30 minute repair. We had to call another plumber the next day that had the part and we was charged $700 for the pump and the repair. The good plumber (Ernie's Plumbing Service) told us we was overcharged for the previous work. He said $200 an hour is the max someone should charge, so I am not happy about being overcharged for work that yes fixed a leak but made my tankless hot water heater not supply hot water. I do not have a problem paying full price for a repair but it needs to be done right! If you decide to use this company be sure you have a good understanding of plumbing so you don't get overcharged and do not pay more than $200 an hour. If he says it will take 1.5 hours, then don't pay more than $300 plus parts.
These guys will lie to you over the phone and straight to your face. They'll tell you exactly what you want to hear....until they get that signature from you. I will absolutely never use them again and will make sure to tell anyone I know needing a plumber to NOT USE THESE GUYS. They'll tell you a couple hundred dollars for a repair and halfway through the repair find every single reason why other repairs are needed to complete the original repair. Oh yeah, then total price goes from a couple hundred dollars to almost $1500. FREAKING RIDICULOUS! Stop using the two guys that do trial & error and end up doing more damage and give them the reason to triple the original repair cost...and get some guys with real experience and now what they're doing. This company use to be good. Be careful people their service is slowly but surely declining. I would definitely look elsewhere. *UPDATE Nope, correct company. You have other reviews of people saying that the workers inform them they usually have the parts in their van. That's the same exact line they told me. You need to accept that you do not have a perfect company nor perfect workers and you will eventually have some workers/projects that aren't up to your standards like they should be. This is one of them. Like I said "use to be a good company" but slowly going downhill.👍
We have had to call Plumb Shield Plumbing twice this year for two separate issues, and both times service was excellent! In February 2025, I called Plumb Shield the morning of a bathroom leak, and their team was at the house working before 11 am. They quickly identified the cause (a cracked plastic water supply hose in the primary bathroom cracked that led to water damage) and advised us the same type of hose in the guest bathroom. We chose to proactively replace the hoses with a metal supply hose. The plumbers were prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. They patiently answered all our questions and helped us stay calm by focusing on what we could control during this unexpected situation. Just last week, the primary bathroom toilet fill valve failed. I called Plumb Shield in the early morning, and they came out same day and quickly fixed the problem! I had kept the magnet they provided me in February with their information and received 10% which I deeply appreciated. I highly recommend Plumb Shield Plumbing for their fast response times, professionalism, and excellent service.

Update: this company responded on Google. They state my estimate is based on complexity. If another company was only going to charge $350, it wasn't. They saw a woman without heat and thought I'd pay their exorbitant fees. Read the other reviews on here. This is clearly not the first time. So no, I don't believe them. At all. Review stands. Oh and the company who fixed the leak...one test. One fee of $350. Passed inspection. Gas is back on. These guys are scam artists. Scheduled with this company due to a gas leak at my home. Second plumber I scheduled with while Fort Worth is getting snow/ice and I have no heat. This company said they'd charge me $700 to run two diagnostic tests based on the pipes in my home. I told them no way. They were trying to take advantage of me being in a tough situation. The company last night wanted $350 but didn't have the part. I'm not paying double because you think I'm desperate. Will never use them again or recommend them at all.
Terry and Nathan really stood out when they came over to check out my water heater. I had a bunch of questions and they didn't miss a beat – answered everything I threw at them, and I learned a lot in the process. I asked them for 24-inch supply lines, a new valve, and some estimates on other stuff. What surprised me the most was how on time they were. It's pretty rare to find service folks who actually show up when they say they will. Usually, you're left waiting around or they reschedule last minute, but not these guys. They were super punctual and really focused on making sure I was happy with everything. It’s a breath of fresh air to deal with people who genuinely care about the work they do and the people they're doing it for. Terry and Nathan definitely went the extra mile. I will definitely recommend Plumb Shield to others I know and will be using their services again!
I want to give a shout out to Terry!!! He was very easy to work with. He clearly explained to me what he needed to do, and then completed the job as stated. He was prompt to his appointment with me, made me understand why I didnt want to go the route I thought I wanted to go, showed up at the time he told me he would be there, and finished the job faster than estimated! He was able to get permit and inspected all in the same day, without any real loss of time without water! (Maybe 20 minutes if that!) The best part was I didnt feel like a dummy because i had to call a plumber, if i would have moved forward by myself it wouldve caused a lot of headache and possible trouble with the city, lol. Thanks Terry, and the whole Plumb Shield team!!! Will definitely be recommending to friends and family!!
Terry was very professional in explaining the problem with the cartridge being very damaged and he also replaced the plastic handle with the pictured one below and showed me how to navigate the different water temps. He is very knowledgeable about his profession and he provided me with a specific invoice. I also wanted to acknowledge Stephanie, when we called her this morning and she gave us the window of when Terry would arrive which was 9-11, my sister explained to her that if possible, we would need an earlier time as we are preparing for a funeral. She moved some appointments around and Terry was here around 7:40am and again, he did an amazing job!!! I would recommend Plumb Shield to family and friends and I also will be using the company again.🙂🙂
