We originally found Samuel as a top rated plumber in our area through NextDoor. He had come out to unclog a few of our lines soon after purchasing our new house and was communicative, efficient, and clean in the new house. We recently decided to start a laundry room renovation which required moving our hot water heater from the current mechanical closet and moving our washer/dryer hookups to another wall. Our old water heater was much past its useful life so we decided to fully replace it to heat pump electric utilizing the SMUD rebates. At the time, Platero Parada Plumbing was not a SMUD certified plumbing outfit, but we asked Samuel if he would be willing to apply for the rebate for us and within two hours he had submitted the paperwork. During the application process he discovered the water heater rebates were going to increase Feb 1, 2026, so we held off a couple extra days - the heads up saved us another grand. His crew came out and and worked late a couple days to make sure that we had hot water for showers in the morning which was much appreciated. They were very communicative throughout the process letting us know when they would arrive and their timeline each day of the process. During the process we decided we had to move the drain line a few inches to fit better behind the new washer/dryer unit. He happily made the change without charging us anything extra, even though he had to run back to the store to get a couple new connectors. We are now about a month in and everything is working well and looks very clean and neat. They did an excellent job and went above and beyond to get certified by SMUD and push our SMUD rebate through. We highly recommend them and have given their business card to a number of our friends.
Platero Parada Plumbing fixed leaks in my copper hot water line which was located in the crawl space under my house. It was a challenging job to drain the line, cut out the leaking joints, and replace the copper joints, and all this was done under the house in the crawl space, but Sam and his worker completed the job and they did a great job. Platero Parada Plumbing is professional, knowledgeable, honest, reliable, respectful, organized, clean, and they have competitive pricing. I originally found them thru a flyer in the mail, and when I looked them up on the internet, they had great reviews. I also liked that they are located in my neighborhood. I highly recommend them.
We had a great experience with Platero Parada Plumbing and highly recommend them. Sam was incredibly responsive when we called about a broken water heater—he came out quickly to assess the issue and had it replaced the very next day. Shortly after, we had another urgent problem with backed-up pipes, where flushing the toilet caused water to back up into the tub/shower. Once again, Sam responded promptly and took care of the problem efficiently. Sam was friendly, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. He worked hard, moved quickly, and made a stressful situation much easier for us. It’s such a relief to find a plumbing company that is reliable, responsive, and does quality work. We wouldn’t hesitate to call Platero Parada Plumbing again.
Samuel came by for an estimate but instead of giving me a flat rate, he rattled off a complicated rate schedule which included a $60 driving fee and an hourly rate which I think was around $165. My plumbing needs weren't urgent but he was being pushy and wanted to get started right then even though he didn't have all the parts he needed. I caved, but the only thing he could repair, because I had the parts ready, took him a sum total of about 10 minutes. The cost? His full fee for the first hour plus the driving fee. I was floored. I had misunderstood his hourly rate but why would I pay the driving fee when he was coming out for a free estimate anyway? He was clearly taking advantage. Thankfully we agreed on a compromise, $100 for 10 minutes of his labor, what a gentleman. He then told me he would get back to me with a quote for my other repair. I followed up several times before he finally sent a flat rate quote of $1500. He had charged my neighbor $375 for the same repair so I asked him why my quote was so much higher. Samuel gave me a bunch of nonsense excuses and then finally just told me he bid high because he didn't want to do the repair for ME. He also let me know that my plumbing needs were below him. Apparently he was offended that I needed help repairing a leaky faucet hose. He told me he wasn't a handyman and that he demands respect! He then called my neighbor and harassed him. It was a truly bewildering and frustrating experience. Women beware!
We love our house, but there are certain design choices from the 1950s that wouldn’t stand up today. A big example of this is burying water pipes under the cement slab, so you can’t get to the pipes easily when they start leaking. When this happened, I started search for mom and pop plumbing companies on google. I wanted to avoid big companies and was met with Platero Parada Plumbing. (Their logo was what drew me to click on their website) I called for a quote and Sam came by later that evening. He discussed his plan and quoted me a great price. (Going with one of those big companies would have resulted in double). The job involved leaving the slab alone and going through the attic/walls. Again, we love our house, but our attic has two feet of clearance at the highest point and half a foot at the lowest. This makes it very difficult to run lines up there, but Sam and his team did it very professionally and kept us updated during the whole process. Sam pulled the permits and scheduled their visits around our schedule, which was great. A few days after the job started, Sam informed us that the line to the main was in bad shape. I saw it and it was hanging in there by a thread. It was surprising the pipe had lasted that long. That was the longest day Sam and his team were at my house, with them coming at 9am and leaving at 11pm to make sure we had running water. That was his goal the whole night “We want to leave you with running water!” The team dug a trench and added the new pipe from the main to the house. They also moved the water main box that was in my neighbors yard, so we could get to it easier without having to remove boards from the shared fence. The walls are now all patched up and are looking fantastic, the house is leak free, and we averted the eventual collapse of the pipe connecting the main to our house. Platero Parada Plumbing are true professionals! Sam and his team went above and beyond to make sure that everything was in order. They are our new go to plumbers for anything big and small. I guarantee that nobody can touch the quality work that Sam and his team provided during our experience.
If you are in the Sacramento region looking for a plumber, I strongly recommend Platero Parada Plumbing, LLC. A couple of weeks ago, we thought we just had a clogged sewer line running through our backyard, when in fact the century-old clay vitreous pipes had failed immediately below our massive cedar. The job was full of surprises (it's amazing what your plumbing can be hiding underground with decades of ad hoc repairs) and ended up being a massive project. Almost the entire sewer line to the city main had to be replaced, requiring a trench of more than 100' long down to a depth greater than 6 feet. Samuel Platero and his crew did excellent work that passed city inspection easily. They were professional, good at communication to keep me updated, honest, and had fair prices for the work. They were respectful of the property and of neighbors, too. They also did a great job of record-keeping for our insurance claim. The thing that really shocked me, though, was the yard after they cleaned up. I am not joking when I say it looked like nothing had happened back there (with the exception of two new sewer clean outs). I knew they were filling in the trench, but I expected to be recovering with mulch, filling back in the bricks on the patio, and replacing the deck boards that had to be removed. They took care of everything. That is pretty incredible service. I first heard about Platero Parada Plumbing from a friend who recommended them as trustworthy and honest. That is the number one thing I want from a plumber, electrician, mechanic, etc. And I have to vouch that they truly were.
I couldn't be happier! Sam at Platero Parada Plumbing went the extra mile for us and installed our shower perfectly and quickly. His expertise, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile solved a big problem for us. There are a few things that matter when you need work done in your home. 1) the job is done right, 2) You feel comfortable with the workers in your home, 3) honesty and professionalism, and finally, an accommodating timeline - living with a problem in your home upsets the entire apple cart! Platero Parada came highly recommended by Koenig Plumbing (a quality company that I trust). Since Koenig couldn't take my job (Shower installation), Kyle recommended Sam at Platero Parada Plumbing. Sam's prompt response was a testament to his dedication. He came the same day to provide an estimate and even went the extra mile to help us research the best shower insert for our bathroom. His immediate action on the job, even working through the weekend, made us feel valued and important, especially considering our urgent need for the shower to be installed. I am a watcher. I have learned to check to make sure, folks working in your home don't cut corners or leave you with bad parts. Sam took the time necessary to do everything right, including fixing a terrible patch job left by some previous job! Without hesitation, I recommend Platero Parada Plumbing!
Looked around Sacramento for a plumber to help with drainage issues and found Platero Parada Plumbing. After working with them on this project, will definitely call on them in the future! Sam was quick to respond and communicative every step of the way. Platero Parada Plumbing came out to look at our drainage issue and as they worked, they found more problems that would be costly to us in the future. We were shown pictures of the state of the line to the sewer and the pipes underneath the home. This wasn't a high pressured upsell, it was clear Sam had our best interests in mind. He was quick to make changes to the original estimates and scoped out two or more weeks to do all the work (replace pipes in the crawlspace and the line out to the sewer). They finished in a much faster time frame and I was impressed, even handling the permits and scheduling the inspections in a timely fashion. The work was well executed and they took great care in how they did the job. Holes under the sink were re-patched, the yard was re-filled and seeded. Sam also gave us updates all along the way and accommodating as we were offsite during the project, the customer service was top notch! Thank you Sam and Platero Parada Plumbing!
Our water heater started leaking out of nowhere from the attic, directly above our bed. Turns out the drain pan wasn’t connected to anything. It just dumped onto the ceiling joists and underlying drywall. We found Platero Parada Plumbing on Google. Sam came by the very next day to take a look. After getting a few quotes, his was the most comprehensive and reasonably priced. Install happened the following week. Sam and Melvin came by, laid down floor coverings, and sealed off the work area with plastic containment. Everything was clean when they left. Also definitely worth noting: this was in the middle of July in West Sacramento. The attic was easily pushing 90°F+, and had to be accessed via a switchback staircase, above the 2nd floor. We even had a surprise garage leak mid-job and they diagnosed it easily, offered a direct and simple solution, and rolled it right into the same job. Would recommend Platero Parada without hesitation. I’ve found my plumber for life.
We had a major plumbing issue and were incredibly impressed with the service we received. The team was prompt, professional, and exceptionally thorough from start to finish. They took the time to clearly explain the problem, the solution, and made sure we were comfortable with each step of the process. Their knowledge and attention to detail were evident throughout, and they handled everything with confidence and care. On top of that, they were genuinely personable—respectful, courteous, and easy to work with during a very stressful situation. It’s rare to find a team that combines this level of expertise with such a thoughtful, client-focused approach. We’re beyond grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to call them again or recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing help. Truly top-notch service.
I can't say enough good things about Samuel from Platero Parada Plumbing. He came to my house on extremely short notice, after hours, to fix a major pipe leak under my home. Samuel was professional, and quickly assessed the situation. His expertise and efficiency were impressive, and he had everything fixed in no time. What really stood out, aside from the quality of his work, was how reasonable his pricing was—especially for an after-hours emergency call. I was expecting to pay a premium, but Samuel’s rates were more than fair for the level of service he provided. I highly recommend Samuel and Platero Parada Plumbing for anyone in need of fast, reliable, and affordable plumbing services. I will definitely be calling him for any future plumbing needs!
Samuel came out when our sewer was backed up and quickly diagnosed that the line needed to be replaced. He took the time to help us understand what was happening and thoroughly explained our options. Once we decided to move forward, he and his team were available immediately and got right to work installing the new sewer line. The quality of their work was excellent, and they completed the project quickly to get everything back up and running. Sam's communication was great throughout - he was upfront about everything and made sure we knew what was going on. Really helpful and easy to work with. If you need plumbing work done, especially in an emergency situation, I highly recommend Samuel and his team. Great work, great service!
I can't say enough good things about our toilet replacement. I asked them if they could replace a toilet when our tank cracked and they were able to come in just over a day later, phew! Quoted the same as everyone else, the guys came in and laid down protection all the way from the door to the bathroom, and were in and out in under an hour, finishing within the time frame they said they would. I was able to get back to work at the expected time and had no issues. We will definitely be using Platero Parada again to update our bathrooms, now that the toilet they recommended and installed looks so good we have to remodel! Great, quiet, personable, clean, polite--just good guys who you're happy to have come work on your job.
Samuel and his team are awesome! My wife and I bought an old 1926 home and encountered some serious plumbing issues with our sewer line. Samuel worked us into the schedule quickly, walked us through every step, and graciously answered every question we had. There were some funky things with both sewer clean outs being buried (near the house and in the backyard by the city main) and he suggested fixing this to make it easier to access in case we have future issues. He also helped us get trenchless installed and coordinated with the city for permits. We are so grateful to him and his team for solving our plumbing issues! We cannot recommend him enough and will definitely be calling him if we have other plumbing issues.
Samuel and his team are amazing!! We had a major replacement that needed to be done and he was the only plumber who said he could not only fix the problem, but could do it without digging up our entire patio and foundation in the house and at a fair price. It was a big project that took 10 days and he did a great job communicating updates and plans with me. He and his workers are thoughtful and considerate, left everything like it was before they arrived (in some ways better), and they even worked around my baby’s nap schedule! I genuinely can’t say enough great things about them. I hope I don’t need a plumber again any time soon, but hands down would not hesitate to use them again if I do.
