Great job Dimitrios! P & S Plumbing is always on the ball! Came to our rescue on a holiday to unplug our sewer line. All the toilets were backed up so we were so thankful to get the job done quickly. We highly recommend Dimitrios … He was very personable, knowledgeable, and efficient!

Amazing service! Demitros and the office staff at P & S were wonderful. I have had such a hard time finding a good and reasonable plumber in Kona and was pleasantly surprised when they answered my call and scheduled our job right for the next day. Both the plumber and office staff were very friendly and cared about giving good service. Demitros was very professional, and did a great job repairing our leaking copper pipe near our water meter. I highly recommend him and P & S plumbing. Mahalo again!

Some leaks were detected under the house that caused a great deal of angst, to be sure!! We were very pleased that Beth responded to our online request for service promptly. She was very friendly, informative, and efficient, and was able to schedule a visit within 24 hours. Dimitrios arrived on time, and we cannot say enough good about his level of expertise, his workmanship, his communication with us, and the thoroughness of the job. He was able to revamp the "mess of pipes" under the house in a day, cleaning up all of the DIY plumbing and leaving behind a very professional job. We aren't experts in the area of plumbing and can't judge the price charged, so we have to trust that this is fair. The peace of mind we now have is priceless and we will definitely call upon P & S Plumbing for our future needs, and we'll hope that Dimitrios is available when that time comes! Hope it's not too soon!! :)

Hey Steve, You are extremely expensive. After we did a job with you I told my Aunt how expensive you were. My Aunt agreed and said "Oh nooo... don't use Steve's plumbing. They're expensive" I told my friend about your job and his response was "Do you know how much they charged to change my water heater? I don't think doctors doing surgery charge that much hourly. It's so ridiculous. " Although they helped with the clog. I felt like the whole service was just them trying to up charge every step of the way. Kinda like when you're at a poker table and you keep hitting and hitting. 50 dollars here... just 50 dollars more here... then a little more... now you're losing thousands. It's also concerning how big of a deal they make things sound and when you force them to do it, it only takes 5 minutes. After these incidents, you were on my radar. I somehow found myself driving through Halawa and noticing your headquarters... You guys are like an Army! I thought Steve was a one man show. I thought you were average Joe's gym but it turns out you are guys are more like Global Gym. I cannot recommend Steve's plumbing at all.

Called them for a plumbing emergency - leaking water distribution box. Plumber came over stated the entire system would need to be replaced as well as the PRV. High-pressure sales tactic to replace every single line in my entire house. Even brought out a smooth talking "supervisor" who was on his way to the beach to set up his kids birthday party In which he told the plumber multiple times to "stop talking and let him handle this sale". I stood there several times in disbelief at the way that the supervisor was talking to a newer employee. Regardless, we opted to replace only the water distribution box and PRV. At a cost of just under $6000. I told them that because this was an emergency our home warranty has authorized me to go out of network and find my own plumber - they would reimburse me - but plumber would need to do their part in order for me to get reimbursement. Plumber assured me multiple times that he would request Authorization prior to starting any work, which we scheduled for the next day - which was what the home warranty company required. Plumber even took a picture of the instructions which were simply to email home warranty with a diagnosis. Nothing else needed on his part. A simple email with the diagnosis. Come to find out, they never did that. Now I cannot get home warranty to reimburse me for as much as the service call fee because Steve's plumbing did not hold up their end of the agreement. But hey, they got their $6000 from me right ? They got my leak distribution box fixed, but with high-pressure sales tactics and false promises of "we work with home warranty all the time, no worries ". Not at all a pleasant experience.

We had a horrible (huge understatement) experience with Zion. He couldn't unclog our toilet with a snake. He tried to do it without removing the toilet from its base. He refused to remove the toilet. He told me he needed to use a hydrojet to fix the clog which would cost me another $1000+. I agreed because I wanted the clog fixed. BIG MISTAKE. The hydrojet did not fix the clog. It flooded the pipes, which then flooded our bathroom, which then flooded our hallway. Instead of letting me know right away, he tried to "take care of it" and only came to get me when he needed to know where he could mine some boxes because the water was getting out of hand. I walked over to see my hallway flooded with water. 5+ huge shop vac bail outs of water, he wanted to charge us MORE money to put in a clean out so he could access the clog. I called the company, sent him home, and we got a more experienced plumber the next day. The next guy was amazing. He did a fantastic job. He explained everything and got the clog fixed. However, because we had contaminated water in our hallway and bathroom, was had to have a company come and dry out everything and then look at what needed to be fixed. The big problem was it was CAT 3 - sewage. It took one week to dry out our floors and walls because they couldn't use fans, just dehumidifiers (so they wouldn't spread around the bacteria). Then the guys were ready to demo and fix our place. We couldn't get a plumber's report from Steve's. I got an incomplete statement on an invoice to send to the restoration company, and that took days. The restoration company had to work directly with Steve's to get a plumber's report and they (Steve's) didn't want to admit that it was CAT3 water at first. It took a week of back and forth for the restoration company to get CAT3 agreement so they could proceed with the proper clean up. I sent both companies the pictures I posted to help prove that the water was not clear and it was, indeed, brown. The demo guys came in and removed the affected walls (about a foot on the bottom of various walls) and flooring. Steve's Plumbing was given an estimate for the costs on March 27. They were told that the restoration company needed a50% deposit to work on our house. On April 4, we were told that the check payment was being cut by a department in California. In the meantime, no work was being done on the house. The contact we had at Steve's plumbing only started to see if they could get the checked cut locally when we complained. On April 7, we got an email that the check for the 50% deposit was cut and being sent to the restoration company. We're not sure if the restoration has gotten the checked cut locally yet, but they were willing to complete our house last week Thursday and Friday, April 10 & 11. It took 4 weeks to get back into our house. So if Steve's plumbing tries to send Zion to fix your clog, say no. Yes they fixed it. Yes they paid for it. Yes they made it right. We are grateful for that. But, it was a huge ordeal for a clogged toilet.

I am sharing my experience to help other homeowners make an informed decision. Last year, my water heater failed, and this company replaced it with what they described as a premium, top-of-the-line tank with a 6-year warranty. The price was significantly higher than the market average, but I chose to trust their quality. Exactly one year later, my hot water went out again due to a leak. Initially, the technician tried to charge me hundreds of dollars to replace a water-damaged component. (He didn't addressed the fee first but I saw his screen) When I questioned how a brand-new, premium tank could leak after just 12 months without installation issues or a product defect, a senior technician was brought in. They ultimately agreed to replace the tank and completely waived the labor fee as a "courtesy." However, they claimed the issue was caused by my "poor water quality" and recommended that I purchase an expensive water filtration system from them. As a consumer, I find this explanation very hard to accept based on simple facts: 1. The previous standard water tank lasted for 10 years in this exact house with the exact same water supply without any issues. A premium tank failing in one year due to water quality does not add up. 2. The rust on the connections was minimal and superficial. Any experienced plumber knows that minor surface rust does not cause a heavy-duty, glass-lined inner tank to leak within a year. As I argued with the technician, it is absolutely non-sensical to claim that this minor, purely superficial rust on the fittings could cause a total failure of the entire inner tank. My previous water tank, as well as many of my neighbors' tanks with significantly rustier pipes, operated for many years without any issues. If this supposedly 'premium' product fails from this negligible amount of corrosion after just one year, it is not a high-quality product as advertised--it is an overpriced, defective product. If they truly believed water quality was the cause, they should have pointed out these external connections at the time of installation and offered a dielectric solution then, not after the unit failed a year later. 3. Waiving both the tank and labor costs is rare for this company unless there is an underlying acknowledgment of a faulty product or an installation oversight. While they framed it as a "courtesy," it felt more like a quick way to resolve a clear mistake on their part. I accepted the replacement tank and appreciate that they did not charge me for the labor this time. I am writing this to let the company know that I am aware of why the fees were waived, and to advise other customers to ask logical questions when faced with sudden upsells. I hope this time they installed properly and not to have any issues.

Getting an appointment was super easy. The gals at Steve's are so professional and courteous. Constant communications regarding my appointment and status of technician's arrival are great and so appreciated. Technicians are also very professional. Shoe booties on, again! Discussed my options and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Performed the service requested, tested new equipment multiple times before cleaning up and putting things back together. Walked me through the repair and had me test equipment. Their confidence in the work performed was very reassuring, however, I was wrong. Water was leaking from the toilet tank for 7 hours. There is water under my floor tiles. Luckily, when I went in, I didn't slip and fall! When calling for someone to come at 1am, I was told that I would have to wait until "normal business hours" or pay $250 for someone to come out. It's water where it shouldn't be. I am having to relive the drippy shower faucet repair all over again. Same thing; repair person did not check for leaks...or did he? Not happy at 1am. Overnight tech dispatched at 1am found a hairline crack in the toilet tank. The other tech overtightened the nut. Update 2/7/24: New toilet installed and working properly. Project mgr Ryan discussed my options for a replacement toilet and let me decide on one. Tech, Shawn, was great! He is a 2nd gen plumber and has been around plumbing all his life! Very courteous and respectful of me and my place. Cleaned up well, disposed of all trash, incl the other toilet. Retracted some statements I made before, as I learned some things I didn't know before. Apologies to those that read it. You know what I said. Even though I've experienced some hiccups with service by this company, I will still use them and highly recommend them. I suppose you could ask for a specific tech that has the most experience with your issue, granted it's not a pressing matter.

What an absolute leech of a company, seemingly designed to vampirically suck the money of hard working local people. We discovered our kitchen sink was clogged and called Steve's to come in--my husband is pretty good with plumbing but was working all weekend and couldn't fix it in time. Steve's came the next day to assess the situation. I will just bullet point because I have too much to say: 1) The plumber could not snake or scope the drain due to the clog (understandable). When he determined he would need to replace the pipe under the kitchen, he almost cut the wrong pipe to the bathroom before my husband stopped him. 2) The plumber informed us we would need to replace ALL the piping under the house, even though he had not scoped them, the pipes were not connected until the main line, and the bathroom plumbing was working fine. This was quoted to us at $6500. 3) the small section of pipe he did replace cost $3,000-we had to use their financing "no interest" plan which they conveniently do not tell you has a $500 financing fee attached to it. 4) WORST of all--he didn't even fix the problem!! 1 week later our pipe was clogged again, just inches under where he cut and replaced the old pipe. This was the same pipe, he just decided not to replace the whole pipe (inexplicably) and did not even check to see if there was a continued clog. (Pictures for reference) I am considering calling the better business bureau as this seems to be an almost unanimous problem. I'd say Call Steve's if you want to flush your money down the drain, but that would mean they'd have to unclog it first.

We called Steve's Plumbing to replace a broken 20 gal water heater. They upsold us to a tankless heater, quoting a price of $3,340 plus tax. The estimate was itemized, with $190 for "membership," $450 for labor, and $2,700 for the tankless heater. Seemed a little steep, and we told them we didn't think our electrical system could support the tankless. They assured us it wouldn't be a problem, so we agreed. Once they started the work, they "discovered" that we were right, the tankless heater wouldn't work with our electrical connections. So they installed a regular, 120 volt, 20 gallon tank heater. That heater retails for $400. We asked for a refund of the difference between the $2700 and $400. We did not ask for a refund of the "membership" fee, and we did not ask for a reduction of the install cost, even though swapping out a small tank heater is a 15 minute job (I've done in myself previously). Steve's refused, saying that the $3340 quote was a flat fee, regardless of what kind of heater they installed, despite the fact that the quote was itemized. After numerous phone calls, they finally refunded $400, and absolutely refused to refund any more. We had to go through our credit card company to dispute the remainder. Capital One ruled in our favor, so after a prolonged fight we did get our money back. But I definitely will not be using Steve's again. If you absolutely have to use Steve's Plumbing, pay with a credit card so you can have recourse if they overcharge you.

If I could give a no start review I would. I work in building management, have been for 10 years, and it is common knowledge that Steve's Plumbing technicians are notorious for being incompetent and incapable of diagnosing issues, over charging on basic services, and trying to tact on additional services so that they can continue to overcharge customers. Currently, I have a unit experiencing a leak and myself and my maintenance guy have gone into units and ran a simple leak detection test and immediately found the source unit. The owner was informed and a technician was called by the unit owner and the plumber came by today to do a more thorough investigation and insisted on getting into the lower unit. Even after being informed that the unit below has been ruled out due to the logical fact that the unit has been empty for at least 2 weeks and the water valves are off in the unit prior to the leak even being reported. He still insisted and left the job site informing me that they have to be called back once there is access to that unit. That is such horrible practice and a true display of incompetence on the part of the "plumber". Every chance I get I make it a point to tell my residents that Steve's plumbing is never recommended by us. I'm besides myself trying to comprehend how Steve's can claim to provide "high quality" services when every single technician I've had to work with have done nothing but provide disappointing results and a fat bill. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL

If I could rate Steve's Plumbing zero stars, I would. Terrible Customer Service. 03/07/2026: Called Steve's Plumbing to unclog my kitchen drain. The technician arrived and unclogged the drain by running his auger in the condo's main (common) drain pipe. I attempted to get reimbursed from the AOAO for the cost of the invoice. My claim was denied because the description of work performed did NOT note that the auger was inserted in the main (common) drain pipe. I called Steve's Plumbing to have the technician to specify the fact that he did insert his auger in the main (common) drain pipe. Six times, I called and was always told that someone will call me back and no one ever did. 03/20/2026: Called Steve's Plumbing to obtain the Customer Service Manager's name and mailing address. I or my attorney was planning to send her a written request detailing the work performed. This evening, I received a call from Steve's Plumbing from a very rude person that did NOT identify himself. I explained what I wanted was a for someone to note that the technician inserted his auger in the main (common) drain. The rude person told me, he could not do that and started to rattle off about actual location of the main (common) drain pipe. If I wanted him to add a comment, I needed to provide him with a drawing of the condo drainage system and just hung up the phone. I recommend that you refrain from having Steve's Plumbing perform any work. Call another company! Not Better Business Bureau Accredited

I would put a (Negative 4/ Sh1t Emoji) for the service Steve's Plumbing has provided me. Sent a technician to service a MR Cool Mini Split System and charged me $1,400 dollars to do a leak test, vacuumed out the system, re-flare the 1/2 pipe at the air handler connections, and re-fill the system. System lasted for at least 1 year and they claim there warranty expires after 30 days of repair. That would be great if the one part of my system where they had to re-flare the 1/2 pipe was all pitted and frankly looked like it was done by an amateur. I call Steve's Plumbing 10 Times!!! No one calls me back not even once!!!. A manager or supervisors calls me today after weeks of trying to get ahold of them and Immediately rushes to the fact he's been calling me and leaving me voicemails on the wrong number. When I state its the wrong number and not the call back number I listed 10 times he Immediately gets defensive. They should have never serviced the unit since they now claim they don't service MR Cool units but they did when they took my $1,400. They came out and put in refrigerant into my system (trying to make up for touching the system) and quoted me a $5,000 install for a 12k unit. Moral of the story DO NOT work with Steve's Plumbing and find another contractor or do it yourself. They are crooks and I am thinking of installing AC with my solar company just to show how them how to do there own job and how its really done. Steve's Plumbing is a bunch of Clowns!!!!

I called Steve's Plumbing and A/C Service three times over the course of several days, and not once did I receive a call back or an explanation as to why. I specifically chose this company because their ad said "24/7 service," but that couldn't be further from the truth. On the first day, I spoke to a lady on the phone who assured me someone would call me back. That never happened. The next day, I waited most of the day and called again, only to be told the same thing with no follow-up. By the third day, I was beyond frustrated. The lady I spoke to saw my calls in their system but had no idea why nobody had reached out or scheduled an appointment. Finally, I got transferred to a manager. Instead of apologizing for their atrocious customer service, she informed me that after-hours repairs incur a $160 non-refundable extra charge. At that point, I'd had enough and hung up the phone. I ended up calling another plumber, who resolved my issue promptly. In hindsight, I should have called them in the first place. Buyer beware--Steve's Plumbing and A/C Service is not actually available 24 hours. They pay someone on the mainland to take notes until someone gets around to it the next day. Moral of the story? If your pipes buss at night, don't call Steve's. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Hot trucks! But their service is trash.

I'm honestly still in disbelief over this experience. Yesterday (Sunday), I called Steve's Plumbing & A/C Service because my single kitchen sink had stagnant water. It wasn't even a full blockage -- the disposal was still allowing it to drain completely. This felt like a pretty straightforward issue. Jonathan showed up, and to his credit, he was polite and professional. But then came the quote: $475 to snake a kitchen sink. $475. For a basic snake job. When I questioned it, he told me this was the "regular cost," not even a weekend or emergency rate. That's where this really stopped making sense. If this is your standard pricing, what exactly qualifies as premium? How does a simple, routine fix turn into a nearly $500 charge? This wasn't a major plumbing failure, no pipe replacement, no complicated diagnosis--just snaking a kitchen sink that was partially draining already. It's hard not to feel like this is price gouging disguised as "standard rates." Most people call plumbers because they need help, not because they're ready to drop hundreds of dollars on a basic service. Again, Jonathan himself was courteous, but the pricing is completely out of touch with reality. I strongly recommend getting multiple quotes before agreeing to anything with this company. Absolutely mind-blowing--and not in a good way.
