Was a returning customer and had a great experience with them 5 yrs ago. This time around really got gouged on the price. Estimate was easily $500-$800 more than other local companies

Asked Nearby for a bid on upgrading our domestic hot water and radiant heating with a new combination boiler. They came out to inspect and said they’d have an estimate to me the next day. Over two weeks and they still haven’t given a bid or a follow up call/email. Note: I tried reaching out multiple times via email and calling. Baffled by the lack of response on a $20K+ project. Ended up using Plumbing Utah (highly recommend). They came out immediately and provided an estimate to pull old system (hot water heaters), install Combi-Boiler, Install Water Softener, Install floor drain (there wasn't one), and build new radiant heating manifold. After approving estimate, they were out two days later to do the install. They've also responded same day to follow-up calls. Total cost: $19K.

In 2024, Nearby Plumbing visited our home to answer questions, inspect, and provide a free estimate for several issues related to our new home's plumbing, gas line, and sewage ejector pump. Different plumbers were used during our home build, and unfortunately, those other plumbers took costly shortcuts on our home. We had something come up, which required postponing the work for about a year, but Nearby Plumbing happily returned and provided updated estimates, answered more of our questions and again didn't charge us a penny. We scheduled the work and Nearby Plumbing helped us fix a gas line that was leaking in a few locations inside of our mechanical room, added a missing service valve to our sewage ejector pump and also upgraded the pump to include a grinder (reducing chances of a clog and sewage backup), added a wifi monitoring alarm to the ejector pump (to alert us in case the pump ever fails), and added a hose spigot to our mechanical room to make filling up emergency water storage easier. Nearby Plumbing was great to work with. I appreciated their patience with scheduling the work on our timeline, the way they listened to our questions and concerns, and their solutions to correct the issues that our builder and original home-build contractors left us with. My wife and I have learned that finding contractors who are honest, good at what they do, and who treat your home as if it were their home is less common these days. I'm glad we found Nearby Plumbing. They are our new go-to plumbers! :-)

Had this company replace a Rheem hot water heater under warranty. $1100 for the labor to have them replace. It was a dud unit. Had problems with it. They came back out and stated that it was due to a flue and wanted to replace the flue for $1200, mind you this was a one for one replacement, exact same unit with exact flue. Had another Rheem authorized company come out and they diagnosed bad pilot and informed us to have Nearby do the replacement. Nearby came back out, even with their labor warranty wanted to still replace the flue for $1200 and would not honor labor warranty and wanted $400 to replace the pilot. Very deceptive. The other authorized company came back out and replaced the pilot for free and guess what, no problems for months. I am a combat veteran and advertising as a “veteran owned business” to try to gain trust is insulting. Will never use this company again and given my job, will never recommend them. Stay far away from doing business with Nearby.

I had an unexpected gas leak, and the gas company ended up shutting off my gas—in the middle of winter. Fortunately, Drew answered my call right away and scheduled an appointment just as quickly. He was at my home the very next day and addressed the leak promptly. He was also far more thorough than the gas company. He tested every section of my gas line to make sure nothing was missed. We did find additional leaks in other areas, but thanks to his expertise, everything was identified and repaired properly. I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Drew is honest, patient, efficient, and clearly takes pride in doing the job right. I really appreciate his work. Thank you, Drew.

I had low price water heater do two water heaters at a reasonable price at my home.My sister was having problems with hers so I called Chris he said there was no charge to do an on the spot diagnostic and would let us know the price to fix or replace. Then told the price for hers was double what I paid she wanted to think about it I was told she owed 200.00 she was with me when I was on the phone no charge to look at it. I had to pay 200.00 to a liar for a diagnostic that wasn’t even mine.No integrity something very different about this company and name change. Be ware!!!!! Good luck with Karma! Also had to call as he was 1/2 hour late apparently my time isn’t as valuable.

Edit: I'm still pleased with the product and installation, but I was initially told I would be able to get $1800 worth of tax credits and rebates throught Enbridge and Energy Star. I was only able to come up with $900. I emailed and called and noone can tell me why there is a difference from what was printed on my invoice and what I was actually able to receive. They said they would have to get back to me, but have not. Before you accept what you are told, do the research and verify the information is correct. Original post: On time, efficient, and thorough. I appreciate the time Joe took to answer my questions and educate me. He is very patient!

⭐☆☆☆☆ I paid $589 for kitchen drain cleaning and disposal replacement. The technician arrived earlier than scheduled and blamed me for not picking up his private calls, which appeared as “Wireless Caller.” His attitude was rude and unprofessional. He used my towels during the job and threw them away afterward without asking. I also found my reed diffuser bottle and supplement bottle on the floor during his work — very careless handling of personal items. The company promised to refund the $89 coupon but never did. Very disappointing experience — I will never use this company again or recommend it to anyone.

Stay away. He won’t honor his price, he will try to upsell you, won’t show up prepared to the job site, will charge you to drive to Home Depot to get parts, will mark up the parts, and will leave a mess. He didn’t use a drop cloth and after talking to other plumbers after the fact I don’t think he needed to change the entire fitting, just the gasket. He is $350 an hour. He also said he needed another plumber on site with him to the job because the other plumber needed to hold something and would not allow me to hold it. Also I had to cut an12x12 hole which was too big.

Joe O stopped by to replace a bad sensor on my water heater. I could immediately tell that Joe comes across as a good guy, pleasant, and trustworthy. He was happy to show me what he was doing and why, how he analyze the problem, and what it would take to fix it. I was happy to learn a little bit about my water heater. We had an unrelated issue on a kitchen sink that was not part of the service call. He took the time to look at it, fix what he could free of charge, and give me a quote on everything else. I appreciated getting to know Joe and plan to have him back.

I had a fantastic experience with Joey from Nearby Plumbing. My water heater failed right before Christmas, and I was worried about being without hot water for the holidays. Joey prioritized my job and managed to install a brand-new tankless water heater in a single day. Not only was he incredibly fast and professional, but he also gave me a very fair and competitive rate. It’s rare to find such reliable service during the busy holiday season. Highly recommend Joey for any plumbing needs!
