Brad Traina did an awesome job on my outdoor plumbing system! He worked very hard to clear the roots that were causing the sewer backup into my basement and took the time to thoroughly explain to us the issue, showing my wife and I what he was seeing on his pipe camera. His dedication to the job went above and beyond, making sure my drain was completely cleared while keeping a positive attitude during a late evening service call. Highly recommended!
I was comfortable enough to communicate with Brad. He did his best and glad found a clue ill give him 5 stars. Glad he helped with my communicate with the park office people to shared my bubble up issues. Thank you again Brad Traina. Keep up the good work
First of all thank you to the company Mr. Rooter. Yall answered the phone quick and acted fast. Brad came out and inspected the area. Very professional! Was amazing from start to finish. The work was long due to flooding and the Sump Pump not working. But Brad was patient. Effectively installed the new sump pump. Thank you Brad for helping me and my family out. You are awesome!
I was given a quote of $690 walking in the door with no guarantee of fixing the problem of my clogged main. I have two newborns in my home and Brad Traina saw that I was desperate and hustled me for my money and did not fix the problem. After 4 hours on site and working only for an hour and a half, Brad told me his rod line has a kink in it and he can’t go no further but he made it to the street and it’s the city problem, call them. The city of Joliet was very nice and came right away and even though the camera program is no more, they used it to help me find the problem and marked it “on my property”. I called Mr Rooter back and explained all of this and it was an automatic cover up for Brad. Brad called me explaining what a kink means like I’m not intelligent enough to comprehend and kept emphasizing on “No Guarantee”. He also mentioned he is not “willing” to put his machine back into the line and I need to pay $1300 more for a different machine. The city mentioned some things about follow up calls on this company and that’s all I’ll disclose on their behave. They recommended a company called Drain Service Midwest and they came out and charge a flat fee of $275, cleared my main line in 45 min and stated if it backs up again we’ll come back “for free”. They used the same type of equipment to complete the job. I feel taken advantage of and robbed of almost $700 from this company. I would never call them again nor recommend them to anyone.
I hired Roto-Rooter to repair a leaking faucet on my bathtub. When the plumber arrived, he seemed unsure about the job, which didn't inspire much confidence, but I decided to let him work. After watching him, I felt he probably had some plumbing experience. He ended up running to Home Depot for parts and replaced the cartridges in both valves. He mentioned that if this didn't fix the problem, the valves would need a full replacement, which would require breaking out the surrounding tile to access them. I paid him $500, and he left. A week later, both valves started leaking again. He came back and claimed to have fixed the issue, but he warned that I'd probably need to replace the valves eventually. The hot water valve was very stiff to turn but worked for a few more months. When the hot water wouldn't shut off, I called Roto-Rooter again. They scheduled a visit but didn't show up. After multiple attempts to reach them, they finally agreed to come around noon the next day. I wasn't home, so I asked them to coordinate with my mother-in-law. They then called her, saying they were three hours away and wouldn't come unless she paid more upfront, speaking to her rudely. We ultimately hired a licensed plumber who fixed the issue completely. The valve now works like new. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend Roto-Rooter for plumbing repairs. They might be fine for drain work, but they don't seem qualified for more complex plumbing jobs, and I question whether the person they sent was a fully trained plumber.
I woke up on a Saturday alone with my 2 kids and a flooded basement. My husband couldn't leave work- what do I do? My husband told me to call Roto-Rooter so I did not knowing what to expect it was a Saturday after all. I called around 2pm and was told someone could be here between 3pm-6pm and they would call when someone was 30 min out. 3pm came and went so did 4 and also 5pm. Finally someone called and told me that they were running late and someone would be here closer to 6pm. At 6:10pm I finally got the call someone was on their way. I was annoyed but not too badly because I know it was a Saturday and I assume extra busy. When the guy finally came he was very nice. He introduced himself as Jacob, shook my hand and got to business right away. He looked at the problem, explained what he would do to fix it and told me how much everything would be. We signed the paperwork (after a call to the husband) and he got started. To my relief the drain opened up within 15 minutes. He showed me what he brought out from the drain (mostly tree roots) and explained how to prevent this issue from happening in the future. It was an expense but all in all I was happy that I was able to receive help on a Saturday. If time is a factor I can see how someone could give a bad review but they did call and apologize and, I felt, kept me informed enough that I wasn't forgotten and help was still coming. The technician was personable and did a good job explaining things and doing his job. I wanted to wait and write the review to make sure the problem was fixed and 5 days later still no water back up so that's a job well done in my book.
Called into Roto Rooter at 5:45 in the morning today because my husband and I discovered that there was sewage coming up through two drains: the one on the floor in the downstairs bathroom and through the shower drain in the same room. Since we are first-time homeowners going on year two of having this home, we were panicking on some level. What to do? Who to call? Affordable? A good job done ? All of those questions went through our mines. I Called Roto-Rooter, the Joliet, IL branch, and they told me a technician would arrive between 8-10 am. At 7 AM, another person called from Roto-Rooter to verify that we still needed services and confirmed that the technician would arrive between 8-8:15 am. Sal, tech #1794, arrived right on time! He did a really nice job throughout his time in our home. He diagnosed the problem easily-- since it was a back-up on two lower-floor drains he assumed there was an issue with the main sewer line. He then got set up and started routing the pipe. He went through the process multiple times to verify that he removed all of the clogs and then Gary, tech #933, arrived to insert the camera into the pipe. Both Sal and Gary's assumptions were right about the clog-- a tree root had officially wreaked havoc on our main sewer pipe! Both Sal and Gary did a wonderful job. Professional, helpful, and courteous. They were both very easy to talk to and had great advice on how to handle any clogging issues for the future. I would recommend Roto-Rooter and both Sal and Gary's services to anyone. Thanks guys!
My recent experience with Mr Rooter was not a pleasant experience. A couple years ago I used their service and had the pleasure of meeting a very helpful technician who fixed my sump pump drainage leak in the front yard. The technician took a camera to see if there were blockages, pushed a rod through for any rocks or mud that might have been stopping the flow of water. He did such a great job I decided to call Mr Rooter back when my sump pump situation happened again. This time I got a “know it all tech” when asked if he could check for any blockages he told me no. He stated he didn’t have a camera that could fit down my. sump pump pipe in my front yard. Then saw I had a temporary drainage step up leading to the backyard. First thing he did was clipped it and said you can’t do that. When I told him I didn’t want it flooding my neighbors front yard he said “it's better this way.” Cause all “you’re” doing is pushing it to the back and it’s just coming back under your house. Mind you all this tech did was clip the hose spraying causing the water right into my front yard and my neighbors. Which was going right back under the house. The same method he’s trying to criticize me for doing. Then proceed to give me a quote for $7200. I declined the offer but the nerve of this “know it all” who has the balls to lie in my face after having a tech do the same thing I’m asking him to do today.
Warning! We had a brand new water heater installed in January. It failed in April and was replaced. It failed again today. I spoke with Kristina Moy, the IL, IN, WI supervisor, who was unequivocally the rudest, most unprofessional, petty human being I have ever come into contact with. She lied multiple times, put me on hold for 15 minutes, wherein I called customer service on another phone. The agent heard our conversation when she finally came back. He agreed she was out of line. She claimed the technician we asked for was not on the schedule and that we would have to wait longer for service. The customer service rep told me the technician WAS on the schedule and could be out immediately but Kristina Moy would not allow it. She was combative and loud, spoke over me and threatened to cancel repair altogether. She also told me she was the only supervisor, that there was no one above her. Which I discovered to also be a an outright lie. RUN from this company because if the equipment fails, you will be dragged through literal HELL.
I've had plumbing problems for 6 years. Several plumbers out for estimates which ranged from $500-$3800 to maybe solve the issue. I called 1-800-GET-ROTO, and tehy had no prices, but would give a free estimate. My tub was full of backed up stuff, and the toilet was complete done. The whole family has been going to McDonalds to use the bathroom. Mark showed up on time, provided the estimate with confidence that he could resolve the issue. He handled it and proved it with a camera tour from my basement all the way out to the city sewer. I also have a 6-month guarantee. Shawn, Joliet P.S.- Ask for Mark (TECH # 25-2976). He handled everything professionally, AND cleaned up after himself. That's rare! (Roto-Rooter Ticket # 25 16544800)
Absolutely wonderful service from the beginning to the end. Gene was polite Friendly explained everything that was going on. I had a Slow Sewer and I was worried about roots from two Large trees. Gene showed me what he had seen in the camera. There were no sign of roots. He just showed me the slow down and also how to prevent future problems.Gene informed me to all the costs. He also looked over any other plumbing issues that may be happening in the house. I am very grateful, especially since it looks like the spring rains are starting.🙄🌧️💦☔️. Thank you so much, Gene! Liza
Both toilets were clogged. I tried everything to clear them with no luck. I called a local plumber who told me to call my HOA or the village. I reached out to Mr. Rooter. They were friendly and professional from "hello". Brad came out right away, investigated possible issues. He provided a quote and went to work. He was neat, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Answered all of my questions. He brought me back to civilization. I have indoor plumbing again. He is my hero. If I or anyone i know ever has a plumbing problem again I know who to call. Mr Rooter.
You don't call Roto-Rooter because the guy will show up, stand outside on the phone talking about how he's mad he had to take this call when he's supposed to almost be done with his shift, not have the 4" tool that will actually clear the pipe so only cut a hole big enough to drain the water but want you to make another appointment to have somebody come back and then have the nerve to charge you $590 and say that it's because your 2 bedroom 1 bath rental home is a business like it's going to cost more than a 2bed 1 bath regular house. NEVER AGAIN
Had my septic lines rodded and roots removed. I'm very happy with the service. Brad was very kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He answered all my questions and took the time to explain step by step. The dispatch/scheduling team were also very nice and professional. I got a same day appointment after being disappointed from another company who didn't show up for my appointment. I'm very happy with Mr. Rooter Plumbing and would recommend them to anyone who needed service. Thank you Brad & Mr. Rooter Team!
I rarely write reviews, but felt obligated this time. Tenant called with a clog, no one else available. I know Roto-Rooter has bad reviews, and is stupid expensive, but it said available 24/7. Called and they said someone would be there in the hour. Two hours later I call and a curt women said we tried to call you, they have been delayed, first lie. She said she would call me right back with further information, never did. Thankfully we found someone else. Avoid these overpriced morons at all costs.
