Michael did a great job. I had a water leak (9,000 gallons on last bill!) and pointed to a squishy place in the yard. He dug there but there was nothing. My bad. Must have been the rain. Then he did it correctly. Step by step eliminating the line from the street to the house, isolating the hot side. Then hot in vs hot out and identified the problem methodically and smartly. It was the blowoff valve. In my defense, my builder put the blow off line and heat pump condensation line together and I thought the water coming out was from condensation. In any case, Michael quickly replaced it. Did good, honest work without trying to upsell anything. I would recommend him and Mr. Rooter, whom we've used for years.

We had a water heater that was starting to leak, and the tech came to our house quickly. He replaced our 2 old 50 gallon water heaters with 1 80 gallon heater. The installation was well done. and the old equipment and pipes were neatly removed. Very courteous and professional with good quality work.

Had an emergency septic system backup while we had visitors late on a Friday evening. Mr. Rooter was there within an hour and emptied the tank and was able to fix the plugged line. Great job; reasonable price; professional technician!

I know it's not always the company but their employees. However, the owner Steve never called when I was told he would. I can see just how much they don't care. We waited DAYS, for a plumber to come and fixed our toilet. No time frames, just kept being told they were coming (Wednesday). Ricky showed up on a Friday evening and said a new toilet had to be ordered, gave my 86 year old grandma a verbal estimate and said he would be back first thing Monday. If your a 24/7 company why do we have to wait a few more days. There was NOTHING wrong with Saturday. Well, Monday morning came and went. He showed up after 1:00pm with a crappy toilet, a seat that was WAY to big for it and tried to charge her double the amount of the toilet. They put nothing down to take out the old one, water and "other" liquids went all over the floor (we cleaned up) the guy was RUDE and could care a less. Then we find out the $800 toilet that was there could have been saved with a simple fix. Now mind you I have 4 kids in the house also, and I'm trying to manage them and make sure this no good plumber isn't messing things up more. He gave my grandma a bill for $700 and wouldn't show us proof of how it was that much! They didn't get the money! The guy left, I called the office and tried to take it up with them. Told them everything and they wanted to send the same guy back! What are they thinking!!! They send out another man (Ty) out to try and fix the wrong. Along with a phone call from Mr. Steve the owner. That call never came. Well, Ty came out and agreed the toilet was crap, the wax ring wasn't even right and it would have leaked causing who knows how much water damage to the sub-floor. We wanted the original ($800 ) toilet back that they could have fixed. But nope, they couldn't get it back. Mind you it wasn't even 4 hours. Beyond ridiculous! So, Ty goes and get a $600 toilet, that flushes like crap, forgets the lid to the tank and we wait 2 more days just for that to be dropped off! The next bill was over $800! Now that check should have been stopped! While Ty was nice, the times of arrival after 7:30pm are unacceptable! They tell you they will be there in the morning, the afternoon and show up after dinner! Needless to say after A week and a half of dealing with Mr. Rooter they will never be called again. A joke! If I wasn't new to the area I would have known better. I know this won't matter to the company but maybe it will to someone else needing a plumber. Don't call them !

I had a leak in my shower which I wanted repaired so I called Mr. Rooter. They responded promptly and did a good repair job. However, when I received their invoice, I was shocked. They charged me $560 for a one hour no parts job. I asked for a itemized invoice and they did send me one. They charged me $56 for each incidental task. I would not hire them again because I feel their charges are outrageous.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Huntsville is the worst business I have had experience with in several years. Before writing this review, I called this office seven different days and asked that the owner return my call so I could tell him about the service I received from his company. I never received any call. On May 10, 2017, this company installed a new 2 hp Liberty Pump at my home. The total cost was $2,680, which included a 3-year warranty. I had previously paid this company $845.00 on 4/27/17 to replace a float. I called this company three weeks ago to report that the system was not pumping as it normally should. A repairman was sent to fix a system clearly still under warranty. As soon as he arrived, he told me the electrical connection was bad (not the pump). Since he did not bring a connection on his truck, he asked where the Lowe's was located. He left my home to go to the Hartselle Lowe's to get an electrical connection; he was gone about one hour. Upon returning to my home, he proceeded to install the electrical connection (he asked me if I could loan him a screwdriver that he had failed to bring). He then discovered that the electrical connection was NOT the problem. He then told me that the problem must be the float. He installed a new float, only to discover that the float was NOT the problem either. During the installations, he asked if he could "borrow" some electrical tape from my toolbox, since he didn't have any of that. I loaned him a new roll of electrical tape which he used most of. He never bought me a new roll or took it off my bill. After all the experimentation of replacing parts that were not the problem, he called for a new pump. He finally got it in near 10 PM that night, charging me for 10 HOURS that were spent replacing items that were not the problem and replacing a pump that was still under warranty! The total amount he charged me was$1,047.50 for hours spent fixing items that were not broke then finally replacing a defective pump still under warranty. I believe that most reasonable people would agree that Mr. Rooter should refund most of the $1,047.50 they charged me for this type of service. I insist that this request be honored. I am willing to forgo requesting money for the screwdriver and the roll of electrical tape. I am also reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau. H. Franklin Penn, Jr.

I have had pretty good results when I have used Mr. Rooter, but this one just was wrong. I called in yesterday morning, the guy shows up around 7 PM looks at the jobs and says he can't fix them tonight, he will have to get the parts in the morning, but should be at my house by 9, he finally showed up after 10:30. He turned off the water, got the parts he needed and left for 4+ hours. Finally returned and the main part he had based his price off didn't fit, so he couldn't complete that job. He told me to do just the other job would be $125, so I agreed even though I felt it was high to replace a couple of pieces from the faucet. He completed the job and said he was going to fill out the invoice. It was taking him awhile so I went to check on him, he said his boss said the job was now $250. I told him to put the old parts back in and he can keep the new ones, the price was ridiculous. He said he had been here all day and he would be our $100 and some other things, so I told him to do it but to tell his boss they just lost a customer and I would be writing reviews about them. Mr. Rooter's policy has always been, they give you a price for a job and it doesn't matter how long it takes the prices is the same, not today. When he went to do the invoice, I reminder him about the 10% military discount, and he acknowledge he would include it, but when I got the invoice I received $17. 10% of $250 is $25, not sure what math they were doing. I told him this and he said it was the numbers they gave him. This company has issues all around. Even though most of my other jobs with Mr. Rooter have gone well, I will be finding me another plumber to handle my plumber needs. This went beyond what I expect from a company. I think the boss should have honored the price his tech gave me. The Tech they sent was nice and very apologetic about all the issues he was having, but he seemed confused on what he had to do at times. He told me he had over 20 years working as a plumbing.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. Our septic tank needed to be pumped. I spoke to an office worker on a Saturday afternoon. She informed me that I would need an excavator to dig up my septic tank. I made the appointment for a pump truck and an excavator for Monday morning. She assured me that both would be here on Monday morning, that I was first on the list, and she quoted a price. Monday morning rolled around and 8 am passed---no truck, no excavator. I called at 9 am and once again was assured that both the pump truck and the excavator was on the way. No truck and no excavator came. I called again at 2 pm. I was assured once again that the pump truck and excavator would be here and that they wouldn't quit until the job was done. At 5 pm a pump truck pulled into my yard....but NO excavator to dig up the tank. The pump truck driver probed the ground, found the tank, and informed me that he couldn't do anything unless I ordered an excavator to come and dig up the tank. I told him that I had been assured since Saturday and twice on Monday that it was ordered and on the way. This company lied to me three times and now I'm out a days work waiting around for them to do what they said they would do. I cancelled my appointment and any future appointments with them. A company should keep their word: This one doesn't. Look else where if you actually want service done on time.

My experience with Mr. Rooter was nice. 1st let me start off with that I appreciate Mr. Rooter coming out on a Saturday moring. There were two men one was Mike and the other was Michael. They were both extremely polite and happy to help us with our plumbing needs. The only thing I did not like would be that they called at 8:30 in the moring. When I had made the appointment the receptionist said they would call 45 minutes before coming over, once I had answered the phone they said they would be over in 10-15mins and I kid you not. They immediately showed up two minutes later. Which I am impressed but I had no reaction time to even brush my own teeth. I wish this company would have a schedule instead of just showing up. I am extremely lucky they did come because I know where some plumbing places don't show up for hours or even cancles your appointments. But they did a wonderful job. But an hour later when. I went down stairs to check our bathroom shower the shower handle started to leak immediately after. 😅 I turned it on and off to see if it was still leaking big mistake the water would not turn off. I had to shut it off myself. I called them at 10:50am for them to come back and they came back 2 hours later. In total. The whole job had costed us 875$. I would recommend Mr. Rooter but I would change a few things. But at least they have a 90 day warranty.

I would strongly advise not hiring Mr. Rooter. We had a leak in our water line, and when they replaced the line they didn't tie it back into the main line, so we had no water. In addition replacing the line didn't fix the leak. They seemed clueless as to how to figure out where the main line was or where the leak was coming from, and were talking about replumbing our house rather than figuring it out. Instead of investigating where the lines might be they just stood around while my husband and I were digging where we thought the lines were. Even after we found what was pretty obviously the main line they didn't seem to have a plan to get it fixed, other than replumbing the house. Eventually they just left, and said they might be back the next day...or maybe next week, because they don't really like to start big jobs on a Friday or Monday, leaving us with no water probably for four or five days. We just had another plumber come out to look at the problem who figured it out in about ten minutes, and also found the leak. He's coming back tomorrow - a Saturday - to do the job. It's nice to deal with a plumber who cares about the customer, unlike Mr. Rooter.

Our drains started backing up and after a few jugs of Draino didn't seem to have any effect I decided to call a real plumber. My mother had bad experiences with Roto Rooter and recommended Mr. Rooter. I'm glad she did! I called them with my problem and they said they'd send somebody over in 15 minutes. He was there in 10 minutes! How's that for service? He did his thing and unclogged our drain (the problem was a tree root had grown into the pipe and was slowing everything down) Took him about 30 minutes. One complaint I had is that after he was done I noticed there was crap splattered on the side of the house where he was working but a couple minutes with the garden hose took care of that! A week or 2 later they sent me a coupon for $10 off my next dealings with them. Overall a great experience! To Wade (the reviewer who had so many problems with his faucets) I would recommend watching some YouTube videos or reading some guides because the things he had Mr. Rooter doing were basic plumbing stuff that any idiot can do without a plumbing degree!

These people are SHADY AS HELL..... We called them out to our new house. The guy wanted to charge us $450.00 to pump out or septic tank and charge Lord KNOWS how much for a new pump. He said ours had "OBVIOUSLY been stolen" Come to find out, he KNEW the water district was supposed to take care of this issue (for FREE), he KNEW they were NOT supposed to touch it, not to mention, Our septic system runs on gravity and has NEVER had a pump and doesn't need one....nor was the tank even CLOSE to needing pumped. And all of this B.S. I paid $75.00 for a service call....or shall we say, I paid $75.00 to be LIED to. I called and spoke to the owner.... he tried time and time again to defend what had been said. HOW DISHONEST...... He CLAIMS he is refunding my $75.00 service fee.... NOT counting on it. DO NOT let these people ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR PROPERTY!

Needed a valve replaced on hot water heater that was under warranty. We were never able to get a quote on labor before job was performed. It took him less than 20 minutes to change the valve out and he tried to charge $550 for labor. We talked to their office and was informed that they have a set rate but the tech can raise that price and they get to keep the difference. Finally spoke to the supervisor and settled at $300, which was still way too high for the time it took. I happened to run into another one of their trucks after this happened and I asked that tech what the charge would be for this job and he said around $160-170!! I'm not saying all the techs at this place are crooks but the one we had definitely was! I will never use them again!

I have use this company several times but I am now done with them I had them clean my tankless water heater. The guy kept saying it should be cleaned every 6 months according to the manual or the warranty was void. He said since it had been a full year he would need to cycle the cleaner longer. It took so long that I kept checking him as he sat in his truck for over two hours. I was charged $318.00 to run what is basically vinegar through my water heater. When I asked to see the bucket there was barely any scale in the bucket I was definitely ripped off and this company will not be recommended to my friends and neighbors. We have a community list of companies that are recommended or not,and they will go on the NOT list

I initially had a great experience with Mr. Rooter. At this point I"m considering taking them to small claims. I now have someone coming out for the FOURTH time to repair work done improperly --- bathtub faucets that turned the wrong way, dripped from the stems, and now beneath my kitchen sink is soaking wet, following faucet replacement by one of Mr. Rooters techs. Really -- all they had to do was INSPECT their work before they left! Fortunately I discovered this leak before leaving for a month during which time serious water damage would have ocurred. I suggest you find someone besides the amateurs at Mr. Rooter if you need work done right, or want it done right the first time.
