Marco did an excellent job clearing our kitchen sink drain and redoing the undersink piping. Very quick work, cleaned up completely before he left. Drain works so much better! Highly recommend Marco to take care of your plumbing needs!
We had a wonderful experience with Mr. Rooter! We had a gas leak coming from our water heater and they were able to get to us right away, fix the leak and then come out the next day to replace the water heater. Our tech, Ryan, was very personable, friendly and professional!
We had some pipes freeze up in her house with an urgency to be fixed so I searched Google and found Mr. Rooter. I called them up and they had somebody out within the next day which I was really surprised. Craig showed up right on time and was very professional and upfront about the cost and things that it would need going forward he went above and beyond explaining everything to me that was needed to get the water going again he had to crawl into a very small crawlspace underneath the house Which most plumbers would not even do considering the technicality in it he went under there and videotaped everything for me to show me the problems that were going on and then gave me a fair price to have everything done correctly. He spent probably over two days there working on this to get it done correctly. He went above and beyond and stayed late to get the job done and subzero temperatures. He was more concerned about me and my kids that himself. He finally got everything unfroze and new pipe was added. The price was exactly where I needed to be at when I thought it was going to be thousands. I can’t say enough about Craig in the job that he did. He is very thorough professional, and on point with his company. Communication was excellent as well with Missy. You can’t go wrong with this company. You will not be disappointed, thank you so much. This house is over 200 years old so he had really troubleshoot to fix it!
Made an appt. on 11/6 at 2:30 pm for 11/7/2019 between 2 to 4 to come and give estimate for a new gas line from furnace to new stove top. Got call at 9:30 am on 11/7 saying have to cancel as gas pressure gauge is not available, I said you do not need that for an estimate. Leslie replied, call was made after hours, I said no it was made at 2:30. She said does not matter, can not come. I asked to speak to a manager as she had not gotten any of my info right, and she said they are Texas at corporate and said could give me the number. Worst service ever and when I looked BBB and here I see why.
On Thursday, 9/11/19, Joseph arrived promptly and attempted to clear a pipe of roots. Within a very short time, he called me to show that he had been able to extract but a small handful of roots and that I would need the pipe hydro-vac'd. I told him I would pay for his call-out and he swiped my card and told me that since it didn't go through, I would pay the entire amount the following day ($700+). I didn't have a problem with that; I had a problem with the fact that unbeknownst to me, I had been billed $260.12 for work that was barely attempted. If my card wouldn't go through, why was there this bill? Further, when I called the office, I was told that the invoice showed the bill as for running the line. I could have pulled out what I was shown but the point is that there was never an invoice and I signed for nothing. In fact, I didn't know I'd even been billed. Repeated calls to the office have yielded only one return call, which I missed. Other than that, the managers always seem to be in meetings or have left the office. I've read other reviews and it seems I'm not alone in problems of this sort.
DO. NOT. USE!My husband and I noticed a leak coming from our guest bathroom toilet (upstairs). I contacted Mr. Rooter Plumbing on Feb. 23 and they sent a plumber out. He looked at the toilet and said that it needed a new O ring. He removed the toilet, replaced the O ring and reattached the toilet to the floor. He charged us $315 and left. Hours later we realized that the problem was not fixed and the toilet was still leaking. We called Mr. Rooter back and they sent out a different plumber the next day (Feb. 24). First off, this plumber came into our home and did not cover his shoes. It was raining and muddy and he tracked mud all over our newly cleaned (thanks to Stanley Steamer) rug and carpet. When I pointed it out to him he asked me for a wet rag and "cleaned it up". It was not cleaned. He then made rude remarks regarding our house and my attitude. I then heard him on the phone with his boss (Josh) stating that he did not know what the other plumber had done, he didn't know what was wrong with our toilet and he didn't want to deal with it. He then told us that he had a long day and was not normally this careless. Then he told us he would replace the O ring again and if that didn't work he would need to come back and rip up the ceiling in our kitchen to see the pipes. He replaced the O ring and left. Hours later the leak still remained. My husband called a plumber that he knew personally. The plumber came over and within 5 minutes had discovered that the leak was not coming from the toilet bowl or pipes, but rather from the tank. The small rubber piece that connects the tank to the bowl had a small hole in it from wear and tear and needed replaced. $90 later and we were good to go. I contacted Mr. Rooter Plumbing and told them what had happened and that they were completely wrong and replaced the wrong pieces and almost ripped up our ceiling for nothing and that I wanted my $315 refunded. They passed me from person to person and asked me to send a copy of the other plumbers invoice and never got back to me. I've called countless times and they refuse to refund me.
I called due to flooding in my basement that appeared to be a blocked floor drain. The Mr. Rooter tech agreed and called another tech with a camera. When drain was scoped broken pipe and trench rot found. They scoped cleanout outside house to city line and found 2 areas of pipe broken from roots and 2 broken w/o roots and areas of trench rot. Estimate for new inside (blocked by wall) and outside clean-out (not 2 way), and new pipe blown to city line was $29,800. I wrote check for 1/2 and financed 1/2. Next day I was presented bills for $4300 for inside work and $7200 for outside work. When I spoke to supervisor he put in new financing for entire $29K even though $15K check cleared my account. Work was completed inside and trench was dug. Even though rain was coming in I had to use my own tarps to cover trench with help from inside tech. The pipe was blown next day and inside work completed. I was given bill for $4300 for inside work and had to pay on credit card. The other $7k was going to be put for financing again. Still not sure if money paid was correct. They did not apply military discount when asked and was only going to put it on one invoice instead of the 3 they had for this job. However, they finally did. Trench was filled in poorly-about 5 inches not filled in from pipe to house and large mound of dirt left with my edging stones stacked neatly to side. The pipe sticks up about 9 inches from ground once I level out dirt myself and is in middle of flower bed not near house so it looks terrible. A hole was put in the wall on inside house which left of cleanout usable. I requested documentation for inside and outside. I have insurance policy for inside and outside. The invoice for trench and sewer pipe do not include any reason why work was needed so cant file for reimbursement of $7k. Requests for pictures or updated invoice ignored and calls not being returned. I wonder if work was necessary and feel cheated out of $26,000. Unable to add photos.
MR. ROOTER of Cincinnati is an abusive company with a long list of complaints with the BBB to back it up. Long story short, they came to assess a clogged drain, and then assured me they'd be able to unclog it. They then failed to unclog it. Then, instead of just charging me a service fee for coming out, they charged me a full $371.10 for NOT unclogging the drain. Then when I asked to see the service agreement, their supervisor said they'd call the police on me for nonpayment, and they would not allow me to review it. All this as I held my 3 month old baby in my arms. Also, they tried to up sell me with other ways to fix the drain that cost $7,000 and $10,000. I have since found several other reputable companies who charge a fraction of the cost for the exact same fix. If you or someone you know has also had a negative experience with MR ROOTER please send a Facebook message to John Matarese with Chanel 9 to file a complaint. He is very helpful and only needs 3 complaints about a company before he can choose to investigate. Also contact the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General.
It was 9:00 pm on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and my water heater died. I was in a panic not knowing if I could get a plumber on Wednesday to come out to replace the water heater. I was on the Mr. Rooter website and a text message popped up. After discussing my issues and providing contact information I was told someone would be out the next day. I then received a call confirming an appointment from 11:00 am-1:00 pm Wednesday. I slept better knowing that someone would be available on Wednesday. I received a call around 10:30 confirming Ryan's arrival within the hour. Ryan arrived and assessed the situation confirming the dead water heater. We discussed options and he provided me a quote & then I authorized service. He ran into a few issues but did not leave until I had hot water. He even wrapped the old heater in a tarp so it would not drip rusty water on the floors as he wheeled it through the house. As a franchise I know the level of service is dependent upon the performance of the local employees. Ryan Stewart gets my vote for plumber of the month.
This company has been a problem from Day 1. We needed new sewage pipes ftom house to street. When pipes were installed, they were installed incorrectly which caused sewage back up in the basement. They were called back out to fix them and dig up the yard a second time. After a couple of years, one of the pipes disconnected which again caused sewage backup and blockage. Still under warranty. They came back out to fix it, digging up yard a 3rd time. They told us they would send someone out to run a camera to see if it was fixed. That never happened. After a week of calling we were still told someone would come out. They never showed. Spent another day of calling and was completely ignored. We now have a pipe that we don't know if it's fixed correctly AND a huge pile of dirt in the yard that they just left. There is no sense of urgency with our service and we are being completely ignored. Nothing but frustration with this company.
Our washer was backing up into the sink. I called Mr Rooter as I promised I wiould always use them for all of my plumbing needs based on excellent service in the past. They were able to schedule an appointment that very day. As usual they showed up on time, used foot covers, and provided excellent service at a very reasonable price. The great thing about Mr Rooter is not only supporting a small company but they don't charge extra for weekend visits like all the other big companies do. Marco immediately got to work and was finished in under an hour and did a thorough check and clean up prior to leaving. Marco's service was excellent and I appreciate everything he did. He diagnosed the issue promptly and was courteous and professional and did not try to upsell me . If I could give this company 10 Stars I would! They're fantastic!
For the last almost 18 Years, we have used Mr. Rooter for all our plumbing repairs. 15 years ago, they replaced the entire drain stack underneath our kitchen sink. Recently, it came loose. They came out yesterday and re-glued it. They charged us $195, even with the preferred customer plan we purchased for $100 last year. They said they'd just charge is the diagnostic fee instead of the list price of $295. $295 to glue a pipe back together? WTH? It was about 15 minutes of work, tops. I called to complain today about the pricing, and the woman told me that price is correct. I told her I thought it was exorbitant, and that we may be looking for a new plumber. She told me to have a nice day. After the years of loyalty to this company and the thousands of dollars we have spent, we are beyond irritated.
Eric and Josh came out to my house within an hour of me calling Mr Rooter for a sump pump motor and check valve failure. I do have a backup system as well. But the main sump pump was failing miserably. Very loud noises and the motor would overheat and remain on and not pump out any water unless I unplugged it..then after a few pumps the motor would overheat again and stop pumping. Anyways..Eric and Josh were very professional and very knowledgeable around sump pumps and they installed a top of the line ...very quiet system..including a back up battery sump pump. It was installed with 2 to 3 hours and they explained what they did and were doing and they answered all may many questions about the new system. I would highly recommend Eric and Josh for any of your sump pump issues
I used to like their service and have found them helpful in the past. My faucet was leaking and he offered me two options but really only wanted to do the $1100 option that would leave a gaping hole in my wall since they don't do drywall or tile. He offered a stem replacement then decide he wasn't going to attempt it on the stem that was accessible and happened to be the one leaking after mumbling things about not sure if the store would have it anymore and its not worth it. This is relayed to me through my husband and now I am debating whether to replace it myself or find someone else to give what could be a fair replacement option. I don't trust this assessment but paid for the visit.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Service from Mr. Rooter! I had a great experience with Mr. Rooter when our toilet needed repair. From the moment they arrived, they were professional, courteous, and clearly knowledgeable. They quickly diagnosed the issue, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and had the toilet fixed in no time. What really stood out was their respect for my home—clean, efficient, and no mess left behind. It’s such a relief to work with a company that takes pride in their work and treats customers well. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter for anyone needing reliable plumbing service. They made a stressful situation simple and stress‑free.
