Rich came out to repair my shower nozzle and did a fantastic job. He was polite, very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain exactly what the issue was and how he fixed it. The repair was quick, the price was great, and everything is working perfectly now. I really appreciated his professionalism and would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable plumber. 👍🚿🔧
Absolute expediency and professionalism. Found on Thumbtack, Mr. Rooter called me within minutes of my request for servicing a defective toilet flange. My technician, Rich, was out here the very next morning to diagnose the issue and then the morning after that to make the repair. Rich even took a look beyond the immediate fix to ensure there wasn't a larger issue that needed to be addressed. All in all, I am completely satisfied and confident in his work, which comes with a one-year guarantee. I will note that this all came with a higher than anticipated price tag, but for my situation and for the value of the service it was one that I was willing to pay.
My 15 year old water heater went up on New Year's Eve. The gas control valve failed. Mr. Rooter sent a tech out on New Year's Day to give me a free estimate on a replacement water heater. I was able to get the water heater that I wanted at a reasonable price. The price included the new water heater, warranty, parts & labor, and removal/haul away of the old water heater. Mr. Rooter installed the new water heater on January 2nd and they did a fantastic job.
I contacted a few different plumbers to get estimates. Mr. Rooter was the 3rd estimate I got. Two techs showed up and I immediately got a bad vibe. I asked them in and the lead tech was very awkward and seemed shady. The second tech didnt say a word. I told them my kitchen sink needed to be snaked for a clog. The lead tech asked to take a look at my pipes in the basement. I'm thinking to myself what for?? He looks around, mumbles to himself, comes back into the kitchen, plays on his iPad then shows me an estimate for $600! Are you freaking kidding me?! Every other estimate was between $150-$300. I asked "why so much?". The guy looked surprised that I questioned him. These guys were super shady! I quickly showed them the door.
Mr. Rooter (dba Reliable Expert Plumbing) Technician came and replaced water heater. The work was fine but he gashed the drywall in our stairwell with the something. It wasn't noticed before installer left and when it was noticed later, the manager who answered the phone rudely asked "Why did you wait so long?" (It was less than a week later) The water heater went out the day before my wife and I traveled out-of-state for Thanksgiving so we did not see it until we came home. I told the manager, to whom should I send pictures to formally report the damaged drywall and he gave me an email and hung up. I emailed the pictures and described what had happened and never received a response. I called again to verify the email and sent another and have yet to receive a response. It should be noted that NOT ONCE did I mention money, refund or repair. I was literally only calling to report it thinking they might care that their installers damaged customers property. (Extra ironic, that I ended up calling "MR. Rooter" by mistake when I meant to call "Roto-Rooter"). I should have checked these yelp reviews before I scheduled them).
Hired the company this past Sunday to replace leaky faucet. Bought a Delta Owendale from HD, opened the box while the tech was here and he proceeded to install it (had to pause mid-way to run to HD for valves). After installation, I noticed that the faucet seems to be difficult to shut off, with water dripping until you move the wobbly handle of the single handle faucet around until finding the "right spot", to which the tech's response was this happens alot with newer faucets, due to the long pull out hose, and left. I was watching two small kids so just paid (and tipped him) and didnt have much time to think on this. After putting the kids to bed, I inspected the faucet and thought the faucet looks different from my recollection of the box (the tech took it away). Did some digging and found water stain/rust under the handle and grime on the faucet holes. Next day, I went back to HD to purchase another box of the same faucet. that was when i discovered that it is not what the technician installed. Out of frustration i called up the owner, saying that the tech may have swapped the faucets. The owner texted me the pictures taken by the technican, showing my leaky faucet, next to the box of the new faucet (strange that the tech took the picture yet didnt spot that it was not the faucet he put in), saying that the company took no responsibility since it was an "owner provided faucet". He sent another technician to install the 2nd faucet and also to take a look. Guy was able to notice right away that what was installed was not a new faucet but a used one, due to the rust and grime. The owner insisted that this is an owner supplied faucet and they take no responsibility, and required that I paid upfront before installing the faucet for the 2nd time. At this point, no one can tell for sure if the 1st technican swapped the faucet with a used one, or HD simply sealed a box of previously returned item that did not contain the right item. But what is frustrating is the owner's attitude that it was the owner's issue, and i should resolve it with HomeDepot. Never mind the fact that as a consumer, I hired a "professional" who should work as an advocate for the consumer to ensure that we know what we are having installed. Instead, he simply chalked it up to the owner, when the tech took out the "new" faucet from the box and proceeded to install it and not noticing that it is a used faucet - kind of hard to believe when an untrained person, and the 2nd tech, was able to notice that right away. The 1st tech also took a picture of my old leaky faucet next to the box of the faucet with picture that obviously doesnt match what he just installed. This, combined with the 1st tech's excuse for the leakiness of the replaced faucet, saying that i need to find the right spot for it to shut off, as well as his failure to notice obvious signs that it was a used faucet, doesnt give me much confidence (pictures of the "new" faucet he installed attached, showing sign of usage). Images: Picture taken by the technician of my old faucet next to the box of faucet, which doesnt match what he just installed, but somehow went untoiced. Additional images from the faucet installed by the 1st technician showing that it is used a used faucet with grime..etc, that also went somehow unnoticed by him, but right away by the 2nd tech. While I do not know if the 1st box of faucet contained the right faucet or not, the business owner's attitude was "we simply installed an owner provided faucet", when his technician took out what's supposed to be a brand new faucet and never noticed it to have been used throughout installation (hard to believe, seeing how obvious the signs were in the pictures). Throughout the process, I learned to next time closely inspect the content's of the box and pay more attention during installation, and also staying away from a company like this one, whose owner's attitude is "its the owner's problem, we just installed what you've provided". Why hire "professionals" when they cannot be counted on??
If you are desperate to have a plumbing emergency fixed please DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. We called this company hoping they could come out quickly to inspect a clogged bathroom drain on (8/19/20). The technician never even told us his name. He immediately diagnosed the problem as a clogged sewer line without even inspecting our toilet or pipes. He told us it would be $579 to snake our line and that he would have no problem clearing the line, again without even visually evaluating the plumbing. The technician proceeded to set up all his equipment in my residence without the use of protective gear or tarps, he even joked to my husband "how dirty and covered in sewaged" the equipment was. My 5 year old son had also had a surgical procedure done the same day so we were obviously concerned about the germs and bacteria being brought into our home and sat on the floor without a tarp or covering, the technician said they follow a rigorous clean up procedure once they are finished. After sending the snake down 45ft the technician told us out main line was broken outside the house and that he had to "call his manager". We later found out from another professional plumber that 45ft wouldn't have even been enough snake to reach the outside line. The technician came back in and advised us that his Manager could send another crew to our house the next day to run a camera and evaluate our broken line from another $400. I advised the technician that we weren't comfortable with that considering that we were not having any other signs of a broke pipe. I also asked for the technicians supervisor's phone number so we could speak to him about the price to partially snake our line since the technician guarunteed he would be able to unclog it and did not. The technician told us he would give us the number once he packed up. He proceeded to pack up his gear, performed no cleaning, left our bathroom and hallway completely covered in sewage. He put our toilet back on but left a piece of the toilet in our bathtub, completely foregoing to install it under the toilet. The technician advised us that he would be back with his supervisors phone number. He NEVER RETURNED, got in his truck and left. No formal bill was given to us, no statement of what services were performed. We don't even know his name. I have photo evidence of all the damages including damaged to our floor and woodwork. This was the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever encountered with a "professional" company. I felt completely taken a advantage of, it felt as if the technician knew we were desperate with a sick child and he saw a opportunity to exploit the situation. We are assuming the company will try to bill us for this botched experience. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If anyone is interested in seeing the photos please email me at kchisholm87@gmail.com.
Would have given a 2 but there were moments/professionals who helped smooth over this bad experience. Had a really nice and informative representative (Rich) who came out and assessed my plumbing issue (main line blockage), and recommended me with their partnering water remediation company. My plumbing goal was to understand where and why (camera) there was a blockage and install a cleanout. Had the plumbing work performed the next day after water remediation performed their work. Unfortunately it was the weekend and with a different plumbing tech. The tech assessed and stated the plumbing issue was a blown ejector pump which was a shock and double the cost. Mind you I had several companies look at my plumbing systems and noted my 3/5 HP pump that was installed 2 years ago was fine. After further inquiry he contacted Rich, tested the pump, and corrected the misdiagnosis. The tech cleared the line and stated his inexperience didn't allow him to perform work on sump pump or quote obstruction of clean outs (something the office said he'd be able to do). He informed me the main line was clear and there was a shallow pool of belly water that didn't pose an issue. Well 6 hours later (1am) I had the largest backup ever and waste was everywhere in my basement. Spoke to a supervisor (that never came to my home) who was very impatient and continually over talked me. As I began explain what happened, he harshly interrupted with"I know your case" and stated the minimal belly water would is my TRUE issue and would continue to be the cause of backups and would need to replace the main line. I asked for another tech to come out. A literal show that morning having water remediation out again and then the plumber again. The tech stated I had a secondary line which also needed to be unclogged. I got that done and had a cleanout installed. He stated a main line replace wasn't needed. A couple thousand out-of-pocket (which I would have preferred to finance) later... Had to set another appt to get a camera view of the second line which didn't happen bc the cleanout installed wasn't big enough. All in all the main reason settled on the company was to have a camera view and recording, I received neither. I had four professionals from the company tell me conflicting things and each time the expense cost grows. It started out great with Rich but overall the experience was disorganized and confusing. If you know exactly your plumbing issue then call them up. If not and/or you have a complicated issue spend the time and money with the big name company.
I had Mr Rooter come out to fix a leak in my plumbing. The plumber (Roland) showed up and quoted me $465 to finish the job. I never got any paperwork to sign or any kind of an estimate. I went ahead and gave Roland the go ahead to start the job since it was late and I needed my water back on. I let Roland know I was mainly concerned about just getting my water back on, so he installed a shut off valve and didn't complete the job, then he asked for full payment. When I questioned him about the $465 to complete the job, Roland then stated he would apply half of the $465 towards coming back and finishing the job. It was really late at night so I went ahead and agreed with that and gave him the check. The plumber left and did not leave me a receipt. I had to call the office and have them email me the receipt. A few weeks later I had the plumber come back to finish the job. Roland called me that afternoon that he was supposed to be here and said he wasn't gonna be able to make it there today because there wasn't enough time. He said he would be here first thing next morning and he never showed because of a personal problem. So, I spoke to the supervisor and he agreed to send another plumber out to finish the job.The other plumber refused to do the job because it had already been started and was not completed. The other plumber stated that the total job complete was $465. After speaking with the supervisor we agreed that Roland would come out and finish the job. Roland showed up the following morning and was asking for more money to finish the job. I let Roland know that I already paid for the job, but he disagreed. I spoke to the supervisor and he said that the job should've been quoted at $600. I was surprised to hear that. I had no choice but to agree to it if I wanted to get the job done. The supervisor also demanded payment first before he would let Roland finish the job. So I gave Roland $135 more to install a 6 foot piece of PEX tubing and he left the original rubber piping in there that should've also been replaced. Eventually, I will have to hire another plumber to come out and complete the job correctly so that it meets code. Roland left again without giving me a receipt for the remaining $135. In summary, I paid $600 for a $5 PVC shut off valve and about 6 feet of PEX tubing. I was not given any paperwork or receipts. Total rip off and I would never recommend Mr Rooter for any plumbing work in the future. It was the most unpleasant experience I've ever dealt with with regards to plumbing.
The actual plumbers at Mr. Rooter are nice and respectable. It's the manager of the plumbers that is a jerk. He spoke to me very disrespectfully, yelled at me over the phone, and even hung up on me. The website says upfront pricing but yet they charge you for so many additional things during the job. They claim that they are giving you a discount but they really upcharge and subtract what they say you are going to save to still get the quoted amount. The story I have is so long I can't even put it here. A long story short I was charged $885 to snake a toilet. Then $300 to empty the toilet in order to snake it. That then changed into $10,500 for them to dig up the mainline and replace it. Said if I let them do the job, they wouldn't charge me the $1185 for emptying and snaking the toilet. I received a bill that said my total was $11,685 - $1185 = $10,500. Where was the discount? I was charged an additional $1500 to dig 2 feet deeper and pull up my concrete which they claim they absolutely had to do to get to the county line which wasn't the issue, it was the main line to the house. Called them back out because now its time for my new sink and toilet to go back in the sink wont drain because of what?? The pipe! You guessed it. Well of course this is not due to something they did although it worked fine before they dug up my dang on yard. So Franz wants to now charge me $385 to snake the sink drain. Oh wait with a $50 discount because I have done business with them before. HAHA laughable. I have just given your company $13,185 just a couple of weeks ago and you give me a $50 discount?! If Franz continues to speak with customers the way he does when they challenge the fact that they never received a discount in the first place and now you want to insult me with $50 like you're doing me a favor this company will not get many customers.
On late Friday evening, I had a flood in my home. The water was coming through my refrigerator and it leaked down to my basement.. I called one of the popular plumbing services. They came out only to make a mess and didn't find the shut off refrigerator water valve. So I was left with no running water. My homeowners insurance sent out a restoration company to get the water up, but I needed a plumber. . My neighbor recommended me to Mr Rooter I was happy that he came out on early Sunday morning during the holiday weekend. Mr. Zach Samuels was my Plumber . He was Amazing . He took empathy on what was going on. He asked me questions. He listen to me and allowed me to walk him through what transpired and what the other company did he took out his equipment start measuring the walls and ceilings in my basement. He told me that he needed to go into the ceiling and see where the pipes are so he tried several places and found the Valve to the refrigerator to shut the refrigerator off . He turned that off and turned the water to the house back on since it was off since Friday I was very pleased with the professionalism of Mr. Zach and his knowledge of his job, you can see he have passion for his work ethics by leaving area very neat and clean. When his work was done, he walked me through what he did, and informed me. that I needed a new refrigerator. I asked if he will install it. He told me to call the office to schedule when it's delivered. So Wednesday afternoon, the new refrigerator arrived. He came around 2:30 and put the new refrigerator and he also went down below to check everything out to make sure that no dripping. I am EXTREMELY Happy with the Outstanding Customer Service I received from Mr Zach Samuel. I truly recommend this company Mr Rooter and I hope that the company appreciate Mr Zach dedication to his work and your company!
CUSTOMER BEWARE!! Mr. Rooter will make a lot of false promises then after they get you to pay for the $639 bill for a simple drain snake. They will not follow up with you on anything they promised! I had a drain backup in my basement and called Mr. Rooter. They sent someone next day for an estimate. Before authorizing the service I was promised a 90 days warranty and that they would record a video of the main sewer line and send it to me. Those were the deciding factors for me in using Mr. Rooter. Their so called plumber was a skinny young kid who could barely carry the machine on his own. I ended up having to help him carry it down to my basement and had to assist him through the entire process of sneaking the drain. He seemed to lack both experience and the proper equipment to get the job done. At the end I asked about the video inspection and he told me that they would need to send someone else for that. He assured me that I would be contacted within 48 hours. I asked for a receipt and he told me that it would be emailed to me because they are a paperless company. Fast forward 5 days, I still didn't have a receipt and none had contacted me for a video inspection. I called in and the people on the other end, one of them claiming to be the manager were extremely rude and full excuses. I asked for a copy of my bill and he reluctantly emailed it to me. After taking a closer look I noticed it had two FORGED SGINATURES on the service agreement and it stated that there was only a 30 days warranty. I called them again and spoke with the rude manager once more and he told me that he would not honor the 90 warranty promised by his technician. I still don't have the video inspection that I paid for. My advice is to call ANYONE BUT MR. ROOTER.
I went to roto rooter site and was directed to mr. rooter by mistake. Had a clogged line that needed to be taken care of so I told the wife to go ahead and bring them out. I work on a ship and at home I have the wife and our 2 little girls. They needed to be able to shower and flush the toilet ASAP. The kid that cam was a nice kid. The charge to snake out was 700 with a 50 off coupon. He told her what he was going to do and how much it would be. The wife thought it was odd when the kid got another service call and said he was going to kill time after the job so he didn't have to go on that one. When he finally left he didn't leave a receipt or discuss the warranty. When the wife called in the girl on the phone apologized and emailed one. No big deal. No leak test was done. When we saw the pipe leaked when flushing, we found a hole in the pipe. No big deal. She calls in and was told on the phone that she was explained to that these things happen in older pipes. Well she was not explained that, and when my wife said if you want to see the conversation we have cameras in our house and the conversation is on tape. She was then yelled at for recording conversation, and informed the pipe repair would be another 700, she said she shouldn't be accountable for that, and told by the guy on the phone that he will make her take him out to court. Well, I'm sure their calls are recorded, so we are pretty curious to see how this whole thing plays out. Long story short, I would not recommend this place even if you were in an emergency, just call anyone else. Hope corporate sees this review and relieves my email and responds expeditiously.
We called Mr. Rooter Plumbing because we had a sewer backup in our house. They came out the next day and quoted pulling the toilet and snaking the drain at over $500. I knew this was higher than I should've paid, but I felt desperate to get the situation fixed. The plumber snaked the drain and found roots. He got it draining so we could use water again and clean up. He said we would need to camera the line and replace the sewer line. He also said we would likely have a problem in about 3 more weeks and that we had a free return service call to snake the drain. It was actually only 2 weeks until the drain started backing up again. We called Mr. Rooter back and they sent a very inexperienced plumber for our free return call. He again snaked the drain and said it was clear and that we could use water. He flushed the toilet and we went into the basement and it was completely flooded. He said he was sorry but the only thing we could do was replace the sewer line and offered no help with the flooding he caused. I called a different plumber from another company to come later that week and the plumber explained to me that snakes are supposed to have blades on the end to cut away roots, but rip-off companies like Mr. Rooter send the snake down the drain with nothing on the end to poke a small hole in the problem instead of cutting it away. The plumber cut away the roots using 2 different blade sizes and worked for about 3 hours for less than $400. He said our sewer was in good shape aside from the roots so sewer line replacement was not necessary. I would never call Mr. Rooter again.
I called Mr. Rooter customer service this morning around 9:30 03-31-2017 to complain to the supervisor. The customer service person took a brief summary over the phone of incident and connected me with the owner of business. I was connected with owner and explained to him what had transpired. I also asked him about the picture taking business and he indicated to me that was standard procedure for them. My question is if that was standard procedure why did the technician not take any pictures when he was dispatched the first time. The picture taking occurred the second time after I had him re-dispatched by their customer service. I have had electrician and plumbers in my house before and none of the other business took any pictures. The owner was very defensive the whole time and covering for his technician's actions. I indicated to him that I was displeased with what had occurred and the technician's behavior. He kept repeating to me how can help and how can I fix this to make you happy. They had no intention of fixing anything, this how they make their money. This type of businesses justifies their existence with such underhanded behavior. Based on my conversation with owner confirmed the fact that they are crooks and manipulators. They deliberately cause problems so that you call them back and they can charge you again and again. They will use like a cash cow if you are not careful. In any case to make long story short I will never do business with this company again and would not recommend this company to anyone else. Stay away from this business.
