Ruben and his crew installed 2 Water Heaters and did a great job! Nice people! Great clean up and removal. Highly recommend!
Clint came to my house and examed my problems like a plumbing physician. He gave me options of treatment and then educated me to prevent my issue from continuing. Clint has an old school style, (friendly and professional), that gets the job done. He is trust worthy and the only Plumbing Doctor I want to cure my plumbing needs. If your looking for a trustworthy and capable person, I highly recommend Clint!
Jacky was amazing ! My upstairs water heater had a massive leak and I couldn't turn off the valve. He was able to rearrange his list and was at my house within an hour. Very professional and I'd recommend him to anyone.
I asked and tried to clarify that snaking a drain was free, the operator said it was as well as the diagnostic. I had a hard time believing that, but she insisted it was. Of course turns out it wasn't. If she had told me the price I would have called someone else. I was desperate and after the technician arrived I had no choice but to continue. $550 to snake a toilet drain. $900 something if the technician removes the toilet. Took me 1 1/2 minutes to pull up the toilet. RIDICULOUS.
Called due to a leaking toilet. I was told they charge $65 to diagnose the problem and I would be charged depending h on the fix. Few minutes later they added caulking to the bottom part and I was charged $360. A day later is leaking more than before. They just patched it up to see if that stop the leaking but didn't fix the root problem.
When the sewer in my nearly brand new house backed up I walked down the street to the model home and inquired about the builder's warranty. After a couple of phone calls I was told they didn't cover the sewer backup because I'd been in the house three months. I didn't argue and decided to call Mr. Rooter because I'd seen the Undercover Boss TV show featuring The Dwyer Group CEO and I was very impressed with the company and the various franchises it operates. I knew it wouldn't be the cheapest in town but I usually don't mind paying a little premium for quality service. It was Sunday and they promised a tech on Monday morning, which I thought was great. When Richard showed up I had an immediate adverse response to his personality but it was Mr. Rooter so I didn't think too much of it. He hadn't been there five minutes before he told me the toilet would have to be pulled and reinstalled because the sewage had come from under the base of the toilet. (I was pretty certain this was not correct.) Then he asked for a place to sit down and start working on his 'plan' and estimate and I started to realize he was probably getting ready to hand me an estimate for hundreds, if not a thousand dollars or more. I started getting upset because I'd just paid for a brand new home and I didn't believe I should be paying to reset a toilet so I called the builder's warranty department. Apparently I'd been misinformed the day before because he said they would pay for everything if the blockage was related to construction materials. However, he said they had a direct-bill contract with Roto-Rooter and they could not reimburse me if I used Mr. Rooter. I explained all this to Richard and told him I should have had the builder question resolved before calling but that I'd been given conflicting information. I felt really bad and said I'd be happy to pay whatever fee was involved for his diagnostic trip out to my house and I apologized for the inconvenience. (I live in Fort Worth so it wasn't a long trip.) He got huffy and told me he couldn't charge me a fee and told me on no uncertain terms that I had wasted his time and walked out in a huff. I (and/or my builder) made a mistake. I apologized and offered to pay him for his time. But he simply made it abundantly clear how angry he was and stormed out. I'm a professional and have always offered free initial consultations in my practice. I view it as an opportunity to win over a new customer. Obviously, Richard's time is too valuable for free estimates. I would have probably tried to use Mr. Rooter in the future because I felt bad about my mistake. But sadly, now, I will never call Mr. Rooter again for fear they'd send Richard! P.S. Roto-Rooter showed up an hour later and couldn't have been nicer. They didn't have to sit down to make a plan or an estimate. They asked questions for five minutes, got out their equipment and in less than 20 minutes they had the sewer line cleared. They never mentioned a thing about pulling the toilet.
I wish there is an option for zero rating. I called Mr. Rooter plumbing because my shower was flooded due to blocking from my house to the City's mainline. Before I called Mr. Rooter, I called my City and the Sewage Department came out with better equipment and diagnosed the situation as oil blocking. In fact, the Sewage Department suggested that I rent an equipment from Home Depot only if i could use it because it was not a major problem. I rented the equipment but I found out I did not have the technical skills to operate the equipment. That was when I called Mr. Rooter. Of course, it was answered by Lisa. I was told 30 minutes wait which turned to over an hour. The technicians charged me $614 to pump the water and did nothing. They did not clean the oil that is blocking the pipes. They went on to tell me there is no warranty for the $614 job and that my pipe is broken so I have to pay them $5,800 to cut and repair the broken pipe. I told them the city has already been here and I was told by the city that the problem was oil block. They told me that my drive away area is wet which shows the water from the broken pipe. I explained that the wet area on my drive way resulted from my sprinkler because I just watered my flower bed and therefore, the wet drive way is not the result of an underground broken pipe. The guy started to get angry. I refused to pay the $5,800. Two days later, the flooding was back so I called my city's Sewage Department and the Sewage Department came. I showed them the receipt of the $614 i paid to the unscrupulous Mr. Rooter. The City pumped the water and again with their camera showed that it was oil block and not broken pipe. I am enjoying my house. Thanks to my city's sewage department, Mr Lorenza and co., for the work done. God bless you all. The text message I received from UNSCRUPULOUS Mr. Rooter was from phone number 214-219-8300. Please run away from them. The act of MR. ROOTER, whichever way one looks at it , it is daylight plumbing robbery. This was the message texted me" Hello, this is Mr. Rooter Plumbing DFW. Our Technician is enroute". My bank account also shows "MR. ROOTER, FARMERS BRANCH, TX with a charge of $614. THIEVES MR. ROOTER, FARMERS BRANCH, TX.
This is a detail of my experience on Sunday. May 24. My kitchen drain was stopped up. After I tried unsuccessfully to unclog it, I called them. They advertise no extra cost for weekends and that was probably the case. One plumber arrived in a hour or so and explained that they have standard charges for drain cleaning which was $280 which is at the high end of what is typical to snake a drain. I agreed but told the plumber that had a discount coupon which he agreed was valid and would lower the cost somewhat. After several attempts to clear the clog failed, the plumber said that he would need to run a camera down the drain and use a pressure jet device to clear the clog. He explained that he also needed a helper to assist because the pressure jet causes a mess. He also said that it is considerably more expensive than just using the snake device. So once the helper arrived and after approximately 3 hours of trying the clear the drain, the plumber concluded that the cast iron drain had apparently corroded and collapsed necessitating tunneling under the concrete slab and replacing the failed drain section. He provided me an estimate of close to $21,000 for his company to repair the drain. At that point, I decided to get another repair estimate. Maybe it is their policy to charge full price for each service regardless of whether it solves a problem or not which is what they did. $286 for the snake procedure and an additional $552 for the helper, jet procedure and camera inspection. So my bill was for $838 which they did not discount per the coupon I had even though they were not able to help me other that diagnosing the problem. Now on May 27, I have received a repair estimate from a very highly rated plumbing company that is around $10,000 or 1/2 what Mr. Rooter wants. This review is not designed to be a criticism but a detailed report of my experience.
BEWARE!!! I needed a toilet repair and still do, but they came out and assessed the situation. They installed a $25-$50 part on the toilet. The tech spent about 10-15 minutes on the repair and came back and told us we needed a new toilet because they don't work on glacier bay toilets. Of course that's not the news you want to hear, but it is what it is. I asked how much do I owe and it came back $600.00+ dollars. I asked what for and the technician said because of what he installed. He didn't test the part, I know this because he didn't turn the water on to fill the tank. I called another company to get a second opinion and they confirmed as well that we needed a new toilet and gave us some options that cost us nothing. I reached out to ask for a partial refund on that part he installed and now I'm getting the run around. They mentioned suing me if I did a stop payment and to keep reaching out for my refund. I've called every day that they e told me to reach out and they are just giving the run around. They should've led with the fact that I needed a new toilet before chargeing me $300.00+ dollars for a part that is useless since I now have to get a new toilet. At this point they are not owning up to the mistake they made and giving me the run around for my refund. I've been scammed by this company trusting they knew what they were doing because I don't know much about plumbing and in my opinion they don't stand by their work or at least admit when they've made a mistake. Be very careful with these guys. I had to give a star to post this, so in thinking of how they of a reason for the star, the tech was a nice person. But I wasn't looking for a pal, I was looking to get my toilet fixed.
Needed help with a clog and accidently called Mr. Rooter. Tech came out and took off the toilet. Then proceeded to do some work. I have a tenant in th house and was not there. (I will never be so trusting) He called and said the work was complete and would cost a little over $450. (Reasonable if the work is done properly.) He told us we would need an extra clean out line in the future to make jobs like this easier. We had already been considering this. We asked for a quote, he sent us one written on scratch paper. The next day I checked in with my tenant - the technician - not plumber- left the water turned off and bolts from the commode on the sink. I called to get them back out. No one was available. 24/7 - not really. I asked why no one told us that the clog was not cleared. The technician stated he told us that there were issues. I explained that I do not speak plumber and would need layman's terms. He explained that the tenant could turn the water back on but could not flush the toilet. (He considered that a job well done.) I called another company out to do the job I had already paid for. ARS completed the job and my tenant can use the commode again. I am asking Mr. Rooter for a refund for the fiasco. If they give me one, I will come back and update my review. As of now, I suggest NEVER using this company. (I know it is a chain but the bad ones gives everyone a bad reputation.)
Beware of price gouging from this company. Over a two-day period, which only amounted to around 45 minutes (if that) of actual labor we were charge $1240.58. All they did was snake a camera through a drain pipe for underground mapping purposes. No sewage, no clogs, just running a camera through an old drain pipe. The camera could only snake up to 150 feet of the drain pipe, so the technician could not go any further. At this point it was almost dark and we needed to open the area where he stopped so he could continue to snake the rest of the pipe. The technician at that time instructed us that if we needed his help once we got it open to give him a call and he would take care of us. The charge for his visit that day was $595.72 for 30 minutes of labor. The very next day we called into their call center to request the same technician to come back out. We stated then that we could not pay that price again and needed the same technician to come back out to finish the job. They said they would have the same technician give us a call since we wanted him instead of a different technician. We never received that call and they sent a different technician out which only worked 15 minutes of labor and charged us $644.86 which was more than the previous visit. The technicians work off of commission so small businesses beware! This company will gouge you!!
Paid $350 to get pipes under kitchen sink put together. They used my own parts that I had attempted to do it myself first without my knowledge. (I was at work and my wife was the only one home) I didnt know this until after I paid since I didnt get to see the work until I got home, I assumed for that price they would've at least used their own parts. Less than 60 days later the sink falls apart underneath again. I called asking them to come fix it again since it was within 60 days but apparently since my own parts were used they wouldnt consider it a workmanship related repair and said they would charge me another $350 to fix it. I called corporate to complain and that was joke cause the lady couldn't give me a confirmation number, email or confirm whether I would get a call back from them so basically my complaint was just thrown in the trash which is surprising for how big of a company they are. All I know is the whole situation felt like they dont really care how you feel and if you aren't satisfied they dont really care to make it right. I called another plumber to fix their poor work and they fixed it for $100 which is WAY more reasonable than these guys. Will not be using these guys again.
I am absolutely thrilled to share my experience with MR Rooter (Fort Worth) and the outstanding service provided by the technician (Tun) this past Sunday. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that Tun was not just skilled but also deeply committed to delivering exceptional customer service. He took the time to thoroughly assess the issue, explaining each step of the process in a way that made me feel completely informed and confident in the work being done. What truly set him apart, however, was his attention to detail and the care he took to ensure everything was not just fixed, but working better than it ever had before. He went above and beyond, even offering helpful advice on maintenance to prevent future issues. Not only was Tun incredibly professional, but he was also personable, making the entire experience much more enjoyable than I could have anticipated. He treated my home with the utmost respect, and his expertise was evident in every aspect of the job. I cannot recommend MR Rooter and technician Tun highly enough. This is the level of service that restores faith in home service professionals. Thank you for such an outstanding experience!
I called Mr. Rooter to remove a clogged pipe and was told a piece of my pipe needed to be replaced. I was charged almost $700 for them to look through my pipe and another $259 to determine where the breakage in the pipe was. The technician told me he could fix the problem for another $3,695 with a $1000 dollar deposit on top of the the money I had already paid. I wrote him another check for $1000 and was under the impression the problem was fixed. He called me thursday and told me it was the cities pipe and he could not fix the problem. He the had the nerve to tell me I was high strung and that I owed him another $2,695. I told him I would not pay for something that was not fixed and since it was the cities problem they could fix it for free. Management refuses to contact me. I would stay far far away from these people if I were you. These assholes had the nerve to send me a bill saying I owe them more money and that I cancelled the job. Thats pure bullshit! Contact the City of NRH and they will tell you that Mr. Rooter could not fix what I paid them for because it wasn't my pipe to begin with and that any trained plumber would have known that.
We called Mr. Rooter because we ended up having a backup into our house at a late hour and they were one of the few in our area to offer 24/7 service. They charge $199 just for the service call, which can be applied to any service you need, but only if you do same day/night service. Anyway, they charge much more to use the camera to diagnose the problem, which ended up costing $357 just for them to tell us what was wrong. Then they presented a quote for almost $15,000 mostly because they prey on people that are in a tight spot and emotionally drained when they have sewage backing into their house in the middle of the night. Luckily we had the sense to not jump on the financing option they presented to be able to afford their quote. We received two other quotes from two other plumbers, both were insanely less than the $15k quoted by Mr. Rooter. The locally owned plumber we ended up using only charged us $1,000 to fix the issue, so literally 1/15 the cost of Mr. Rooter. Stay away unless you enjoy overspending and wasting hard earned money.
