Had a leak in the washer hookup line at a rental house. Mr. Rooter was out the next day and did the repair quickly and for a fair price. Very responsive, professional, and communicative.
We’ve had a great experience working with this vendor across our properties. Communication is clear, response times are fast, and the quality of work is consistently solid. They show up when they say they will, handle issues professionally, and take pride in what they do. As the Maintenance Manager at Smart Egg Properties, having reliable vendors makes a huge difference, and this vendor has proven they can be trusted. I would absolutely recommend them to any property management company or home owner looking for dependable service. — Roy Maintenance Manager Smart Egg Properties
Mr Rooter Plumbing was a quick response (called night before arrived next day). Luis and his partner were very friendly and asked the questions they need to know. Toilet flush was repaired quickly this time. I don't know how reasonable the price was because I'm just a temporary tenant. The landlord seems to keep this company on hand as one of their plumbing service options.
Call center confirmed no dispatch fee, then another call to change it to a $70 fee. Diagnosed the problem fine, then said it would be $1500 to change a kitchen faucet. These people are bait and switching and price gouging, avoid at all costs.
Ask to see options on their tablet. The tech was friendly, saw that he needed to cap 2 waterlines and clicked thru his tablet for about a minute and then said, sadly the only option to match the work is this 1/2" copper tubing install for $700. After the 20 minutes to cap (1hr for him to go get sharkbites) I realized he did not show me the selection process and that i was upsold. 4 days passed without receipt, so I called. phone person was pleasant and sent the receipt. I asked for more info that it is weird how a company their size does not have pricing for capping waterlines. I waited an additional 5 days with no response and reason I am writing this review. The positive is that the experience made my decision to go with another company for the 20k relining of my cast iron pipes very easy.
We had an issue with the pilot light on our water heater-it would not stay on. Mr Rooter came out and said we needed a thermocouple (cost $224.56). One was ordered and then it was discovered we needed another piece -cost with labour $812-it was ordered and we waited for another couple of weeks for it to arrive. Mr Rooter came out again with part fitted it and found that the pilot light did not stay alight-deduced it was faulty and reordered the same part and informed us that it would be 10-12 days for its arrival. Mr Rooter went away but forgot to replace the new part with our old part which had supplied us with hot water if we manually relit it each time as opposed to the new part which he had left attached to the boiler which did not light at all. Mr Rooter was called and he came out the following day and refitted the old part again and we then waited for 14 days for the arrival of the reordered part. However during the waiting period for the part to arrive we noticed that miraculously the pilot light stayed and has been working perfectly ever since-something in our estimation should have been apparent from the beginning .We then called Mr Rooter back and cancelled the part and requested our money back-- $812- as the work in our opinion had been shoddy in not diagnosing the problem initially and the back and forth to my house simply because he had forgotten to replace the item so that we could get hot water which I had pointed out to the plumber-the inordinate time to get anything done. Mr Rooter informed me that he wasn't sure he could get a refund on the part-rediculous!!!!! He has been in business for over 20 years and the supplier was Sears and then suggested we take the part and keep it just in case it broke in the future-how ridiculous is that????? Then said hey we have done some work so I'll give you $406 back and I'll keep the rest for labour -no documentation provided and after an argument about all of this I hung up the phone to him and received an e mail with $406 refunded. I wish to have the other $406 refunded-he really did no work except to come back and forward to the house on occasions which did not need to and when I cancelled the order decided to come through with a plethora of excuses to retain my money and merely picked out 50% for labour charges which is completely ridiculous-the lesson is do not pay up front until the work is completed in a courteous and professional manner which is the complete opposite of what we received. I have brought this to your attention and hope that you can resolve this issue
The absolute BEST experience I've ever had with a plumbing company! I called and spoke to Brett and he was so kind and helpful. He sent out Mark Lucas for my emergency repair. Thanks to Mr. Rooter we now have hot water and a water heater that was repaired correctly. HIGHLY recommend! Backstory: I came home Fri evening to my waterheater spraying out water and it had flooded my laundry room and office closet. Wood floor is ruined. I immediately called my home warranty company, which has zero sense of urgency. I spent all weekend without hot water because the company they contracted Keilly Plumbing works M-F 8-5...sooo convenient . Boiling water for baths sucks! I had to call them first thing Monday (today) morning MYSELF and luckily (or so I thought) they were able to have their technician Dustin come out around 3. I met with him he worked on it for about 45 min. I had to leave to head back to work so I left my daughter to be available. He stopped in and said he was done and left. About an hour after he left my husband comes home to check it all out only to find the waterheater now SPEWING WATER EVERYWHERE!! Once again, a flooded laundry room, mushy sheetrock, and flooded office closet. Soo awesome! NOT! I was and still am absolutely furious!! I called Dustin and got a voicemail which wasn't set up so you couldnt leave a message. Awesome. I text and sent a picture. He responded stating he was on another job and couldn't come until maybe sometime between 2-4 tomorrow (Tues). I'm sorry, but you just f*cked up my waterheater even worse with your sh*t soldering job making the copper weak. Horrible. DO NOT USE KEILLY PLUMBING!! They don't have a clue what they're doing. I will be filing a formal complaint on them as well. They not only cost me the $75 for the warranty charge, but because Mr. Rooter had to fix Keilly's shotty bs work, we had to pay $611.00 more to have it done right. Needless to say I will be canceling my American Home Shield warranty and will do my best to make sure everyone is aware of how poor of a company that Keilly Plumbing is. Homeowners beware!! We will recommend Mr. Rooter to everyone we know and on our socials for everyone to see. They are amazing and we are customers for life. Thank you Brett and Mark!!!
So this is probably the best plumber I have ever dealt with in my 12 years of home ownership so far. First of all - this review is not only about Mr. Rooter in general, but specifically about the plumber I was lucky enough to use - Jason Henderson. The guy is a total BOSS! The work we had done was first of all to convert my electric cooktop to a gas top, and secondly, replace my water heater. Jason can out pretty quickly, got everything hooked up for the gas line and then when the inspector came out with his notes, Jason updated the little things here and there to keep it moving. The water heater was a whole other animal. The old water heater was 27 years old, so WAY out of code. Jason spent a full day removing the old one and getting everything up to snuff. He also went the extra mile of doing a final pressure test on the gas lines after everything to make sure that when the inspector came out we KNOW we will pass. There are so many other little things he kept doing throughout the ay that showed that he truly cares about his customers. It may not be much if I listed them, but to me and my family it was these extra little things that made a whole world of difference. I would definitely recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone as their prices and timing was top notch, but, more specifically, if you can get Jason Henderson on your job - DO IT! You will NOT be let down!
So I called mr. Rooter and asked if they worked on tankless water heaters, they said yes so I had them come out, he tells me there is a $189 diagnostic fee which is rediciolous. when the tech arrived he had to call tech support because he doesn't know how to work on tankless. After half an hour or so he tells me that he knows what's wrong and it's a gas sensor. He ordered the part for me and said they would charge another $89 dollar to install the small (plug and play) sensor. I told him I would just do it my self(I'm a certified and license Hvac technician) so I installed the part when it arrived, it was very easy by the way. My water heater is still broken and continues to do the same thing it did before. I contacted there office and they told me they would charge me $189.00 to re-diagnose, and I said your tech missed diagnosed it in the first place why should I have to pay again, then the girl said she would have her manager call me and this was a week ago I'm still waiting on his call, I've called them back and she tells me the same thing, he will give me a call but yet still waiting on his call....very disappointed with this company not sure why they have good reviews. Please look elsewhere for a plumbing company..don't waste your time or money
OK, WTF!! My shower drain clogged and I called Bret after reading the raving reviews. He was pleasant and professional on the phone. I asked for an over the phone quote and he told me that he would come out and assess the situation, then give me a quote. I got that response from a couple of people, so fair enough. We set a time for 1400, same day. This was at 0900 on a Sunday. At 1255 Bret calls and tells me that the typical charge for this type of service is $198.00! I'm like, hold on a minute. You previously told me that you would look at my situation then give me a quote. He was like "yes, that's true, I just want to let you know that it's typically $198.00". I said "well jeez guy, wish you could have volunteered this information four hours ago, because then I had a quote from someone else for $109.00!". Thanks Mr. Rooter for wasting my time and losing me a quote of $109! Fortunately, I was able to get the work done much cheaper than your typical $198 four hour decision making quote.
I had a gas leak in my fireplace and found it late in the afternoon. They called me back within minutes of me requesting a quote and even scheduled a technician to come first thing the next morning, on New Years Eve. The technician Alex was awesome. Extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He explained everything he was doing and even made suggestions on how I could save some money. He was quick and extremely efficient and went above and beyond to ensure everything, fireplace, appliances and all, worked correctly and safely to make sure my family was safe and the gas leak issue was resolved. What could have been a very serious situation was avoided because of the time and care Alex provided. Pricing was very reasonable and even lower than some of the other quotes I got. I will use this company again if I need any service and highly recommend them. Especially the technician Alex. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
Clogged kitchen sink drain problems. Called Friday a little after noon and was transferred to an answering service who took my order, explained the process then sent me a confirmation of an arrival Friday between 3 and 5pm. After waiting till 5:20 with no one arriving I called back and was told by the same answering service that they would contact the tech and find out his location. I received a call from Frank the on-call tech and I explained the problem with the no show and he contacted company dispatch who called me and informed me that the original tech never was given the callout. She told me that they could have Frank on site first thing Saturday morning and waived the dispatch fee of $69.50. Frank arrived bright and early and resolved the problem quickly after a brief encounter with a malfunctioning snake that he quickly repaired. Frank was the saving grace while their answering service gets an half Star rating.
Mr. Rooter sent a guy out to look at my issue of low water pressure. I figured the problem was with the Pressure Relief Valve out by the street. They were supposed to diagnose the issue and give me a quote for repair. We put a pressure gauge on an outside hose bib, and he agreed with me that the pressure was low. I asked if he could adjust the PRV. He stated that they're not allowed to adjust the PRV due to liability reasons. I guess that's a good thing, because he didn't have all the tools needed to do so. I got my tools out and I attempted to adjust it. Pressure stayed low. He finally left. I got another plumber in a few days later. In 2 hours he'd diagnosed the problem as a broken PRV, replaced it, adjusted it to the proper pressure, and cleaned everything up. I know who's taking care of any future plumbing problems I may have, and it isn't Mr. Rooter.
Updated review: After calling them and speaking with them about the charges, they were able to update it and I paid $900 less and a reasonable amount! Used them to identify and fix a water leak under the ground between my house and the main shut off valve. Plumber was amazing, but pricing ended up being insanely high and not transparent at all. I never got the contract of all the expenses before the work was done and was just shown it on an IPad. Had to call in to get a receipt for the work and they didn't want to send the receipt either, just wanted for me to pay which made me uneasy. Total cost for JUST the digging to get to the part was around $1200 and I was charged for a 6x6 foot dig when the hole in the ground is not that large and we don't have proof in pictures. Plumber was very knowledgeable though and they were quick to come out which should be noted.
Scammers. Don't let them take advantage of you. Improper diagnosis and installation led to more water damage to kitchen. Overcharged me by a thousand dollars. Refused to fix. Improper assessment of the garbage disposal that was broken. Charged me $1400, for a new one, and an hours worth of work. Two days later: New Garbage disposal doesn't work. New pvc pipe put in leeks water under sink and onto kitchen floor. A disaster. Called them to talk about the issue and send "repairman" back out. Michael told me there was food stuck in the NEW garbage disposal that was the problem....... Refused to fix working pipe, or any other part of the job. Refused to provide hourly service quote and breakdown of services I was charged. Spoke to the lady who scheduled the appointment and she too refused to provide a breakdown of services cost and charged.
