Had Milestone help with the plumbing and electrical work needed for a back-up generator and replacement of old load centers. Big job and they did outstanding work. Very good communications every step of the way. Technicians that take great pride in their work, enjoy what they do and have no problem explaining as they go. Shout out to Logan, Randall, Jeremy, Abram, Jonathan, Shan, Ryan, Robert, Jeff and Shanna. It was a pleasure working with all of you. Milestone will probably not be the cheapest quote you may receive, but based on my experience with them, they will be well worth the price.
Milestone was very helpful when an outlet I plugged a charger block into sparked and smoked on me! They didn’t have a technician available to come out that day but suggested I call the fire department. And they would be able to turn off the breaker to that outlet. The next day they sent out Ricardo Monge. He did an excellent job replacing the outlet for me and checking other outlets and the whole breaker box. I felt so much more secure! Thanks, Milestone!
Omg I’m so incredibly grateful for ROGER RUIZ!!! I called in at 8pm with a hose leaking from a refrigerator where I was HOUSE SITTING. I was freaking out- talking to the homeowner and then finally called these guys. Roger helped me locate the shut off valve and stop the emergency. I couldn’t believe it! He literally saved me and the homeowner from a horrible situation. He even suggested that I reach out to the appliance people as it might be within their scope as opposed to the plumber’s. I’m so impressed and blown away to see there are still people doing business like this today. It’s so hard to find honest contractors. Like wow. God bless you my guy. That was super hero work for real.
I'll spare you the details, but suffice it to say I've been fooled by Milestone for several years. I even paid for the "membership" for several years. It's a gimmick. Trust me, do not ever think about hiring Milestone unless you have extra money laying around to burn. I gave two stars instead of one bc they actually do good work. However, their charges are consistently thousands (yes, thousands!) more than other companies. They will ALWAYS try to upsell you another item, service or repair that you didn't call them out to the house for. ALWAYS. Just spare yourself and avoid this company. They only want your $$$. The plumbers and electricians are trained in sales. Each one is a salesaman.
I paid $240 for the annual "Milestone Advantage" agreement. I ordered the filters and UV filtration lights in advance from the Milestone website. Upon arrival for my first bi-annual A/C maintenance appointment, the technicians informed me that they were not allowed to install the UV lights unless Milestone had originally installed the filtration system. I had them double check with their manager. They did. I even offered to pay them extra. The result is that it did not get done. Milestone markets themselves as "Your Trusted Home Service Experts." They told me that if they replace the UV bulbs, they will then be responsible for any failure to the UV system. Which begs the question...what else will they NOT do AFTER you pay them for their Advantage program. I called to cancel my agreement. After two phone calls, they said that it was all a miscommunication. Now, they are sending out someone to replace the bulbs in another three hour window this afternoon. This should not be that hard. Buyer beware.
I fell for the scam. SMH. I have a room that doesn't get cool, like the others. I heard the commercial that Milestone would come out and fix it for $189 and if they cant fix it, I don't owe anything. Of course when I called the sales team began working. Offered me the $19.99/mo deal that included 2 "tune-ups". I fell for it and scheduled my first appointment. Very polite people came out and did the whole, shoe cover thing, in an effort to impress. After checking my 10yr old system, that is currently working, I got told the bad news. I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW SYSTEM. The technician couldn't believe how bad my system was. The technician made me a fancy video showing all the bad things going on and then he left with a promise that the "sales" guy would come out soon to go over their recommendations. Two days later, on a Saturday mind you, the sales guy showed up. He apologized for not having shoe covers and asked if he could step on my floor. lol. He was polite and courteous. He then started to cover his presentation. wow. I have been to presentations from timeshares in the past and the only thing this guy was missing was that he didn't offer me a margarita. He went on to explain the history of the company and how family friendly they are. He asked if I had any questions on the company. He then went on to explain that he had three options for me, the basic, the better and the best. Since I answered that this is my forever home, he suggested that I should really consider the best option because it "makes the most sense". I about fell on the floor. The best option he was offering and according to him he was able to discount down to an amazing $62,000!!!! This was the top of the line with all the bells and whistles and warranties. He also offered the middle better option which, after his discounts, came to about $52,000. And just because he offered the plain jane 3rd option, the plain, run of the mill option for about $32,000. I have a 3300 sq ft house with two units. I didn't pay that much when I got it installed 10 yrs ago. Long story long. He left with a thank you for your time and a promise I would call back. I called another company who came out for a second opinion. This company was honest and said nothing is wrong with my systems. I explained what Milestone told me and even showed him my concerns from the video that Milestone provided. This guy laughed and said, "yup, thats what they do". Run. Dont walk, RUN away from Milestone. I cant stress this enough. At the very least get a 2nd and 3rd opinion from other companies.
When a plumbing issue became a major problem at our house, I remembered the MILESTONE ad on tv. Recently, there had been a steady onslaught of Milestone commercials being played repeatedly one after another...multiple times...over & over...like a broken record. Those repetitive tv ads that played continuously on a loop are what's known as AMBUSH MARKETING. We were so bombarded with their ads in our zip code that they were the first plumber that I called. Their tv commercial said, "WE HAVE 5 TRUCKS IN PLANO...RIGHT NOW! CALL TO GET $60 OFF ANY PLUMBING ISSUE." So, I called to set an appointment. The Milestone representative was nice over the phone. However, I waited for 2 hours for the Milestone plumber to show up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called Milestone back and asked, "Where is your plumber?" They said, "Well, he's gonna text you 30 minutes prior to arrival." That would have put his arrival time at 2 hours and 30 minutes. So much for their line that WE HAVE 5 TRUCKS IN YOUR AREA RIGHT NOW!!! Milestone missed their own window of arrival time. That equates to a NO SHOW in my opinion. So, I told him to remove my email and phone number as a customer since their plumber never sent me a text and never showed up. He was a complete NO SHOW!!! I called another local plumber in Plano instead. He actually honored the $60 discount for me as a courtesy and showed up in a timely manner. In other words, he showed up when promised...exactly on the dot! You should definitely call around before making an appointment with Milestone in Dallas. Otherwise, you'll be waiting for nothing! Try one of the smaller plumbing companies...one that doesn't play non-stop commercials. If Milestone didn't spend so much money on annoying ads, maybe they could actually focus on plumbing instead! p.s. After reading other reviews here...I think it was lucky for me that Milestone was a NO SHOW! Other reviewers call Milestone SHADY & TOO EXPENSIVE. Maybe if Milestone stopped playing those stupid commercials constantly...they could charge a fair price instead of price gouging women and/or senior citizens, etc. Yikes!!! I dodged a bullet.
Save your money! If you want a reliable plumber then DO NOT call Milestone Plumbing in Dallas/Fort Worth. In addition, their subscription program is a farse as I found out. I joined their Subscription Program after the "Snoawmagedon" event in the Dallas Fort Worth area in 2020. I did this because it was very difficult to find a plumber when that event and for $20/month I thought I would be treated with some sort of priority. Well, we are now in a very cold snap and one of my outdoor tankless water heaters froze. I had a trip planned with my wife with deposits and reservations made and we were supposed to leave onm the 16th. Milestone Plumbing could not get to my home until the 17th so I delayed our departure until the 18th due to their word they would be at my home on the 17th. I scheduled the appointment towards the middle of the day because the forecast temperatures for then were to be in the low 40s and I expected that the water heater would be thawed by then. At 08:15AM today Milestone calls me and tells me they will not respond because the water heater was still frozen. I explained to them the conversation that I had with the scheduler just 2 days prior where I was ASSURED that Milestone would be at my home on the 17th to check my water heater. The caller said he would "check with the team" and call me back which he did just to tell me that they would NOT HONOR their promise to be at my home on the 17th. I then asked Milestone, as a "premium subscription member" if they could send a plumber to my home so they could show me how to turn off the water and natural gas to the water heater and I would schedule another appointment when I returned.m Answer to a "premium subscription member": "the manager said that we cant come out to show you how to secure your water heater. That was it!!!!! If they are ready to flip-off a "premium subscription member" then what can anyone expect from them? Answer: Not much. Don't waste your time and money on Milestone and call a real reputable company not one that inflates their customer ratings and makes false promises. Do not rely on them.
If I was a billionaire and money wasn't an issue I'd probably use Milestone. They do the job right and the employees are good. However, you will always be quoted the maximum price. And when I say the maximum price I mean the maximum. And they will always say you need 5 other repairs in addition to the one you called them out for. If one of their guys gets in the door you're getting some kind of estimate that makes you say, "Holy cow." We got a quote on AC repair from them for $18,000. Other companies quoted us $12,000. Milestone claims the difference is quality, but after researching the unit they would have installed compared to the other companies, it's the same level. And these other companies that quoted us $12,000 were both known and reputable. A $6,000 difference is extreme and means they don't respect you. And the rep said, "If you agree to buy today I'll knock off $900." Shady. I know you pay for good work, but there's a limit. It's too much. But I think the thing that irritates me the most is that we paid for the Milestone membership (whatever they call it) and it seems like that counted for nothing. It certainly didn't get us the lowest price. We still paid through the nose every time. Even though the visit was "free" they find a way to get the money anyway. The membership was just a way for them to spam your text with offers for a free checkup which are clearly a way to give you a $3,000 estimate for some repair.
Okay good and bad. Nathan Hager is Wonderful! His co worker Luis is also awesome. Both high quality work on my new Garland city approved breakers and box and they did exactly what they said they would do. Nathan went the extra mile persay. The installed the old receptical in the wall behind oven to get new oven stove working. Nathan was back as promised on time three days later to.put new parts in. The work.is incredible. The part I don't care for is out of techs hands! It's the prices. Way high prices. I work extremely hard to maintain my old place and have a home my wife and I can enjoy. The problem is when you advertise often and pay commission that the overhead is so high that you then pass it along to the customer and cause high prices. It's probably should have been 25% less in cost for job done but again prices high. I spent lots of money on new AC and heat unit last year and new washer pipes in wall and now new breakers and box but still high prices. Yes Milestone beat Levy and Sons price on the AC unit by 20% and hight efficiency unit but still not a very big discount on lady job when spending lots I don't have to waste. Bad part is all in pricing. Nathan Hager, Luis, and Julio Aguilar are awesome! A jay need to get other bids in future all because of prices. Masters Touch in Rockwall are 5 star too and much less expensive on plumbing do to low overhead. Customers look for lower prices and great work. Thanks! Sincerely, Gregg
The technician that was in my attic was rubbing the hvac tube back and forth on the strap that holds it in place...it wss right by the attic entrace and he didnt know I was watching . I could not watch longer thsn a minute cause insulation was starting yo come down. Once he was out of attic he told me showed me pictures of the venting tubes and there were holes in them that were not sll the way through, and vents were dirty. He offered to put algie stop tablets in system, told me yhat they were 89.00 . The treatment USE to bebincluded in my club membership but no longer is. I question whether he damaged my vent tube more than it already was at this point. Plus, he charged zn outrageous amount for the tablet treatment. NOW hd tells md that I need one of the hvac specialist to give me an estimate. But, the other tech who was with him told me it would ptobzbly start at 3000.00 and go up from there! ( club members are SUPPOSE to get discounts!) EVEN IF they gave me a discount it would still be way over priced...like the treatment for algie growth! I got an estimate from another reputable compzny fir 1300.00 to fix and clean all vents! I dropped my Milestone club membership like a hot potato. Dont use Milestone unless you are filthy rich, and want to throw your money out the window!
Horrible horrible customer service. I was quoted an 11-2 window to come out and service my thankless water heater. Day 1 no one showed in that window. Finally received a call telling me they would need to reschedule. Provide me with the same window for the next day. I was clear that I needed the tech there on the earlier side of the window due to needing to catch a flight. At 1pm, still no tech. When I called I was told that once again they were running way behind. So, rescheduled once again for the same window. At 11 am, no one showed up or called. I called and their rep told me that I was next on the list. Tech had 30 minutes of work left and then would be headed my way. He would call me once on his way. At 2:10 pm no Tech, nor did I receive a call indicating he would miss the window for now a 3rd time. I called and recounted this entire story to the rep. She said she talked to dispatch and a manager and they promised I would be next as soon as a tech became available. I told her my expectation at this point was for them to say the tech is on the way. I was not going to wait any longer given they had already wasted 9 hours of my time. My recommendation to Milestone....stop saying "we'll fix it in a flash" . You can't even get there in a flash. So disappointing.
Everything old can be new again when one upgrades their closet fluorescent light. After 27 years the contractor special light was not working. I had changed the blubs several times over the years but this time nothing worked. Checking on the internet showed that the ballast was shot and required more than my personal experience with fixing home electrical appliances to repair. Called Milestone Fri and got choice of appointments for Mon as Sat was taken up. On Mon they called and offered to come earlier which I took advantage of. Problem was quickly resolved as bad ballast and only a few minutes to effect a LED relamp. "Led relamp" refers to relamping with LED bulbs designed to replace existing halogen lamps in fixtures without requiring complete fixture replacement or rewiring. The original light system has been changed to LED now so new blubs won't work in original fixture without changing the ballast to the new tech. Sidenote: the tech checked the circuit box and noted that it should be considered for an upgrade. Internet says circuit boxes should be replaced after 25 to 40 years for all sorts of reasons. We got three quotes good for 90 days to consider making the upgrade.
We've used Milestone for years and the technicians are generally very good. Recently their sales practices seem to have changed and we're unlikely to use them again due to these sales practices. We agreed to a yearly maintenance plan for one year, which was automatically renewed without notice or consent. The process to cancel this membership is difficult to find and complete (seemingly intentionally). We called to cancel this one week after the auto renew occurred and requested a refund. After multiple calls Milestone agreed to refund half and would not agree to refund the other half. So we paid for 6 months of a service we had for 1 week and did not use. Additionally, in the weeks leading up to this renewal Milestone called unsolicited at least once a week to try to send someone to check the house, which we did not need. They did not mention the membership renewal in any voicemail or text (of which there were many). I gave two stars because their technicians are great, but it looks like they're resorting to some of the business practices of other companies that we stay away from.
Where to even start??? How about the service technician that told me they couldn't quote new HVAC systems without my husband being available to talk through the quote? You know because the lady of the house wouldn't be the one making the decision and paying for it??? Then we were told a warranty part on our system was out and was unavailable for 4 months, so our option was to wait 4 months or upgrade to a new system even through we only had this one 5 years. When we called Carrier it turned out you could order direct and expedite and get the part in less than two weeks. Then to replace that part, labor was $1,799. Ummm what?? Oh it's because the system kept shutting off after the part and their "expert" service team couldn't figure out why. After hours a manger was called and asked them to check the gas pressure, bam that was it, it was adjusted, they were done and we were charged for all the "labor" required to fix the system. This company is extremely overpriced and has unethical sales tactics. It's honestly embarrassing we stayed with them this long.
