I am fundamentally a DIY home maintenance guy, but you have to know when a job is beyond your skill set. Recently, I needed to replace the whole-house water filter that protects our tankless hot water heater. The filter cartridge housing had seized to the head and no amount of leaning on the filter wrench would allow me to open it for my annual DIY filter replacement. I made an appointment with Mike Counsil Plumbing, Bobby Mata and Nestor Godoy came out to do the inspection and estimate. I asked Bobby if the install could be done with unions on both sides of the new filter to make my DIY service jobs easier. These guy know their profession. Bobby agreed immediately and on the appointed day, Pablo Segovia was here to remove the old filter and install the new one. Pablo was prepared and skilled. He saw immediately we needed more room and did not hesitate to install a new shutoff valve to make the required room. All of this was done at the cost of the initial estimate. Every DIY homeowner knows that every job entails surprises. Bobby and Pablo both took the surprises in stride and Pablo had the expertise to finish the job on schedule and on budget. The new filter works great. One recommendation: Ask your technicians for their business phone numbers, so you will be able to identify their calls and texts among all the spam that seems to fill a "modern" life.
