Hector did a great job repairing our bathroom faucet. He came quickly as we had a slight leak and it was a tricky repair. He also cleaned up when we was finished which was appreciated.

Merry San Marino Plumbing does most of the work in our aging condo complex. Their office staff is super helpful and responsive. The plumbers themselves are truly professional and do an excellent job. They're not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Very happy to work with these folks over the years.

***PLEASE REVIEW AND CONSIDER CAREFULLY BEFORE DECIDING TO HIRE THESE GUYS*** Merry Plumbing GOT RAW SEWAGE ALL OVER OUR WOODEN STORAGE CABINET in our garage, containing many of our family's belongings, including family heirlooms, artwork, children's toys and books, brand new exercise equipment and BBQ equipment, etc. This was when they were working on (snaking) a neighbor's sewer line in our building's underground garage, which was inches above our wooden storage furniture, but the plumbers didn't bother setting down tarp or any protective barrier, so the raw sewage blackwater got all over the cabinet, which immediately started to soak up and be saturated with the sewage - fecal matter, urine, bodily fluids, and whatever else. After they were done with the plumbing work, they left without cleaning up anything at first, until I flagged them down when they were about to drive off in their work van and confronted them about this. After arguing and denying for a few minutes, they begrudgingly went back down to the garage and started to wipe up what they could, but by that time half of it had soaked into the storage furniture's top, parts of the side boards, its doors, and some sewage also got inside the cabinet and came into contact with some of our items. When our HOA and I contacted them to address this problem, saying that the damaged areas were not probably repaired, cleaned, and sanitized, they said that they felt that "no further action was necessary," and refused to do anything further. I'd like to add here that it is absolutely absurd, backwards, and laughable that the guilty/responsible party is the one making the decision on whether they should be responsible to take care of damage that they caused. That's like letting a convicted felon decide whether he "feels" he should be sentenced and punished for the crimes that he committed. The attached photos were taken before the plumbers begrudgingly wiped up the mess (upon my confronting them about it). Merry Plumbing's argument is that they DID clean up nevertheless, and the area no longer looks like what's portrayed in the photos, but my counterargument is that my storage cabinet is still saturated with raw sewage, which is a serious public health concern and biohazard, and can cause serious illness. This is absolutely disgusting, both literally and figuratively, that these people running a supposedly reputable business would not take responsibility for something that they did/caused, and do the right thing to rectify it. Merry Plumbing seems to have good reviews in general, but I found out the hard way that if they screwed up and innocent people's, including young children's (I have a toddler, which means nothing to them, either) health and safety are at risk due to their failure, they have no problem walking away from it and refusing to do the right, proper, and decent thing. I am choosing 1 star because that's the lowest Yelp would allow on a review, but truthfully, I would give them negative 5 stars if I could, and this business establishment should be investigated, fined, have their license revoked, and shut down, for these types of reprehensible and reckless business practices.

I had a toilet that was clogged so I called to make an appointment with Merry/San Marino Plumbing. I asked how much would it be to send someone to unclog the toile, they told me it can go up to 400. The plumber that they sent was not able to fix the first day so they 2nd day they sent two plumbers. The 2nd day, they broke some kind of pipe and went to Home Depot to buy another one. No one kept me informed as to what they were doing, no one call me to tell me if they have encountered any problems, they left without leaving a receipt or a detailed note as to what they did. They just told my mom that they were going to mail a receipt. I got a receipt 4 months later for $1,138!

I own a unit in a condo complex, and a tenant called me to report two issues: (1) a sink with odor when water is used in the sink and (2) leaking shower and tub. I initially reported the issue to my HOA in May 2016, and my HOA recommended and contacted Merry Plumbers, who they used for the apartment complex. No one responded. Subsequently, I followed up with the HOA (who are very responsive) and they were surprised to hear that no one contacted me. I was informed that they immediately had requested that the company follow up with me to schedule an appointment. They obviously had not done that. Several calls later and two months later, "Larry" finally stopped by my unit to check out the odor problem, while he was already at the property. He was in a hurry and was short on time, and was not able to diagnose the issue in the 10 minutes or so he was in the unit. We rescheduled a follow-up visit to investigate. The second follow-up visit occurred, and while he was able to say that a part was required to address a leaky shower head (separate issue that came up during the visit), he was not able to diagnose the problem with the sink odor or come up with what could be causing the issues. (He did take a sample of the water that "didn't smell" to see if anyone in his office could figure it out. Unfortunately, he also left the bottle of water in the unit and didn't take it with them so who knows what his coworkers would've said). He also couldn't say when he could come back to fix the shower head or look more into the sink issue because of his schedule. This visit also lasted approximately 10 minutes. Frustrated, I called several local companies and reached Bubbles Plumbing & Electrical who immediately diagnosed the problem over the phone. (I actually got calls back from other plumbers and they were able to immediately diagnose the sink problem as well). They set up an appointment, visited the unit, and immediately fixed the problem within 24 hours. Bubbles Plumbing & Electrical, charged me only for parts and labor, and not for the visit out to the unit. Quick, prompt service and diagnosis of 2 issues totaled a reasonable $275.00 (no minimum service charge). Let's contrast this with Merry Plumbers. Today I got the bill in the mail from Merry Plumbers for $104.00. I called to ask about the bill because "Larry" did not diagnose the original problem or fix the leaky shower head. While the lady was nice enough to waive the "$14 truck operational surcharge" (which seemed like the RIGHT thing to do since he was scheduled to already be at my apartment complex the day he stopped by the unit), she stated that the $90 minimum service charge was required - IRRESPECTIVE IF THE PLUMBER ACTUALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM OR DID ANY WORK. My experience with Merry Plumbers has not been merry, and I will never use them again. Only use them if you wish to conduct business with folks who have questionable ability to timely respond and schedule inspections and technicians who apparently do not have time to really try to pin down/narrow down the potential causes of a plumbing issues. In fact, per my conversation with their office today, they can bill you the $90 even if (1) they are there for 10 minutes and (2) even if they cannot diagnose the problem and come up with any recommendations.

Dishonest pricing and hidden fees. Had a dripping faucet in bathtub. Called Merry plumbing , plumber needed to replace hot and cold delta cartridges. He went to Ferguson plumbing supply to buy them. He showed them to me before putting them in , they are the standard cartridge type that cost $15 to $20 each. When he finished the faucet was still dripping. When I pointed this out he said it would stop in awhile, I was skeptical but he said to call him back if it still dripped. It never stopped dripping, not as much but still dripping. Called him back , he did the same thing and it still dripped . He explained that was the best he could do , that it was an old faucet. Then I got the bill. $190 for 1 1/2 hours of labor - at $23.50 per quarter hr -which equals $141 147.59 for parts plus $14.02 in tax. I understand you pay a premium when they supply the parts , but they should have cost around $50 with the mark up. I was not given the old parts nor was i shown the bill from Ferguson Plumbing Supply. $18.00 for a Truck Operational Surcharge - I have never heard of such a fee. They are charging you because they use a truck? Maybe I should have asked them to drive a car ,would that have been a $10 dollar fee? Was not given the option. $42.50 for labor for the return visit to fix the drip that was still dripping after he left the first time. Most plumbers have a warranty of their work for 90 days $10 Covid PPE surcharge. Of course , you are charged for plumber to wear a mask to protect himself ! It's a county mandate , everyone wears a mask but not everyone charges you for it. --$50 So Cal 911 Coupon. Now they give you a $50 coupon to make you feel better after all this. Lets Add it up.................................$190.00 labor $147.59 parts $18.00 Truck operation $42.50 labor return visit $10.00 Covid fee $14.02 tax Total $422.11 Oh yes the So Cal 911 coupon ---$50.00 to take the sting out Total now is only . ...... $372.11 Not a bad price for a faucet that only drips a little. Also everyone is very nice.

The worst plumbing experience I've ever had. To make a long story short in February we had backed up drains in our office. We called Merry plumbing they came out and they cleared the drain, @ 1-2 weeks later backed up again, they came out and instead of using the two wash outs one in the bathroom and one just outside the back door , this plumber decided to lift the toilet up off the floor to clear the drain and when he did he broke the bracket that was cemented in the floor, their quote to fix what they broke was around $1000. Needless to say I said no to the additional charge. I hired a local handyman who came out , chipped the old bracket out of the cement and added new cement and cemented the new bracket in the floor and reinstalled the toilet seat for $175. If that wasn't enough fast-forward a few weeks later and we have a stoppage again they came out and this time they said they cleared the pipes all the way to the street 40 feet. Six weeks later we've got another stoppage! So now I've had four sewer back ups /blockages between early February and May 6th. ( 3 months) I called Merry plumbing back and they said they were not going to come out under warranty and if we wanted to have it done "Right" it would be about an additional $1,000.!!! (why didn't they do it "RIGHT" the first time ?? ) the first three times they said I had roots and they just cleared it enough to get the water to run and not to clear all the roots out!! (WHAT!!) I had already paid them $605. to clear my lines and have the privilege of them breaking my toilet I was not happy! I looked on yelp found a different plumbing company they came out within the hour. I told them what had been happening. They decided to put a camera in the sewer line to find out why this keeps happening. The camera showed a blockage at 15 feet from my outside washout drain and they suggested we clean the line thoroughly which I agreed for them to do. Total cost $375. When they were done they put the camera in the sewer line to show me that my sewer line was clean all the way to the city drain. Merry plumbing told me they had cleared my line all the way to the middle of the street to the city hook up. I absolutely would not recommend Merry plumbing . In the 45 years that I've owned this building I have never had an experience like this. If I could give them -5 stars, I would.

I have to say that if you are looking for a plumber, look no further. Merry Plumbers is fantastic!!! My mother dropped her ring in the toilet. We thought there was no way to retrieve this. We called a few plumbers and they told us that the only solution was to just remove the toilet and if the ring isn't there, then it's gone. When we called Merry Plumbers, understanding how important the ring was to us, they came within 5 minutes and told us that there would be an option without guarantee, which is to dig to the main outside pipe of the house. They spent a good 3.5 hours digging and in the hot weather, at the end of the 3rd hour, both John and Ernie's face was dripping with sweat and hands were shaking but was still fully positive with big smiles on their face. They then used a very long pipe scope with a camera to go up to the house's water drain system. No luck. They didn't give up and went the other direction and routed the camera scope down towards the streets all the way to the city sewer city. Again no luck. They equipment was fascinating but my heart was 80% sure that the ring was lost since we didn't see the ring with the camera. They told me that their next routine was to bring 5 gallons of water at a time and flush the water down. We flushed the water down at least 3 times with 5 gallons each time and again no luck. John then asked Ernie to gather a bunch of toilet paper and flush it again hoping it would catch the ring. I could not believe my eyes when John stuck his hand in all the guck and fished out my mother's ring! It was past 7p.m. and they were extremely responsible by putting the pipe together and told us they would be back tomorrow early morning because it was so dark to put the dirt back to the 6 ft tall hole they dug. Their price was very reasonable for the amount of work that was involved and most of all, their attitude and service was beyond superb. Thank you Merry Plumbers for your excellent service. Much gratitude to John and Ernie's persistence and expertise in finding my mother's ring!

For more than 10 years I have used Merry Plumbers to resolve various issues ranging from fixing leaky faucets to installing new toilets to routine maintenance of the sewer line at my house in Pasadena and have received consistently excellent service. The front office is efficient and friendly and the plumbers are skilled, pleasant, and professional. I recently remodeled the bathroom in my house using Merry Plumbers as the plumbing contractor and as project management. The project was well planned and managed such that it finished within budget and schedule and the results are fantastic. The remodeling process itself was a minimal hassle for me since the house was left in good order at the end of each day and I was kept abreast of progress and issues. While all the plumbers I've met from Merry Plumbers have been capable and agreeable, I am especially impressed by James. He managed my bath remodel and in addition to being an expert plumber he has excellent project management skills. He is able to select qualified and reliable subcontractors and negotiate fair prices and then ensure that the work is performed adequately and per schedule. I've also had the opportunity to interact with the owner of the Merry Plumbers and he cares very much about the quality of the work his plumbers perform and his customers' satisfaction. This is a quality company and I highly recommend their services.

If there were a lower rating I would select that. Our water heater went out on the 4th of December. Merry plumbing show up for diagnostics on Monday the 5th. Heating elements were shorted out. On the 6th elements were replaced but still no hot water. Plumbers blame the circuit breaker. 7th electrician arrives and finds the circuit breaker ok, but one wire at the tank disconnected. Dec 9th, plumber returns to turn up the thermostat, warm water for 15 minutes. No hot water by middle of the week. They tried again to blame this on electrical, but Electrician came back on the weekend of the 17th and verified that electrical was fine. I would love to continue the detail but I think you get the point. Plumbers return again and again except for the holidays and at their convenience, replacing the unit on December 24th without success. On the 27th of December they discovered the real problem: a leak under the floor which emptied the tank and burned the electrodes as well as raised the electric bill astronomically. They can't diagnose a plumbing problem! Different plumbers came and fixed the piping on Dec29. Merry came back 7 times between then and January 12th when the problem was resolved. Management at this company doesn't care about your needs or your suffering. My family of three lost all of their seasonal holidays and had to boil water for baths and dishes

this review is long overdue. i had this company come help me with 2 properties when i used to live in los angeles. i find that a lot of times, yelp reviews aren't really that accurate. sometimes a company has 5 stars, and i use a 5 star company only to find out that the people who work there are dicks who don't care about you and just want your money. merry plumbers is good, and they are genuinely good people. i used this company a year ago. i spoke to, i think, the president of the company and john. they were both really great. i feel bad, actually, because john came to my house, and i was watching videos, and i didn't hear him ringing the doorbell. i called the company and said that john never showed up. but then later, i realized that he left a paper notice on the porch light saying that he came by and rang the doorbell, but no one was home. it was completely my mistake, since my videos were too loud. i called back merry plumbers and told them what happened. john came by and was very friendly, and was not bothered by the fact that he had to come by a second time. a lot of times, people are nice just because they are being "professional" and want your money, but i felt like the employees at merry plumbers are genuinely good people, and they are nice, just because that's who they are, not because they want your money.

I've had great success using Merry Plumbing in the past. So when I had major leaks from my hot/cold washing machine valves, I called to arrange an appointment to have them checked out. I asked for Juan because I know his work and he's done exemplary work for me in the past. Noemi, the Office Manager, told me Juan was not available as soon as I wanted and asked if Todd was ok to do the work. I agreed and he was scheduled to come on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, between 8:00 and 8:30am. Todd arrived promptly at 8:00am, not like some when they give you a window arrive closer to the tail end of it. Merry Plumbers are professional, polite and friendly. They get right down to work. Todd diagnosed the problem immediately and installed new valves (the shut off type, rather than the turn valves). There was some corrosion in the pipes and he took care of that, too. Overall, he did great work for me and continued the high standard I've come to expect from Merry Plumbing. When they do a job, they get it right the first time. None of this do-over nonsense you get from other plumbers because the problem hasn't been solved. I've always had positive experiences with this company and you absolutely cannot go wrong with them. Highly recommended.

I had become frustrated with my other plumber continually failing to fix an issue on the first visit so I asked a friend what plumber he used and he suggested Merry Plumbing. I had a leaky hose bib, a non functioning water main valve, and a pin hole leak near by in the copper pipe going to my sprinkler system. Merry Plumbing exceeded my expectations every step of the way. They started by having me send photos of the problems then I got a call from their supervisor to make sure he completely understood the job. He picked one out f his most experienced plumbers, Quentin, for the job because it was semi complex. Quentin showed up on time with an apprentice plumber. They completely the job perfectly and in less time than had been estimated. Because of that the job also came in under the initial estimate. The completed work product was outstanding and Quentin impressed me with his knowledge, motivation, and his professionalism. Because of him, Merry Plumbers are my new plumbers for this residence and I will use them for my rental properties as well. In today's world it was refreshing to find someone accomplished at their trade. Everyone I talked to at the company was nice.

My bathroom drain was slow and I called this company because my apartment complex primarily used them. When I called them out, the guy removed the pop-up drain cap and washed it in the sink. He tried to convince me that this was the problem when it was not clogged at all. In fact, there was no hair on it, only slight residue. Secondly, he put a snake in the drain, turned it on for 1 second, pulled it out with nothing on it, and turned on the sink. The water was draining EXACTLY the way it was before. He proceeded to try and convince me that the drain was working MUCH better than before. I disagreed with him but he kept pushing. I am now stuck with a hefty bill for someone spending 5 minutes on my drain and not making any improvements. One star because I had to give something. This may be due to an experience that reflects one of their plumbers but after reading all the reviews, it looks like there is a problem with the entire company.
