Great work by Magnificent PlumbingTeam! Did Bath Tub replacement with standing shower with them along with toilet replacements (3) in all bathrooms! 'Almost' bathroom remodel but not a full one! They dont do sliding Glass Door for shower (which you have to do separately) but they did rest of the work! So far looking great and working as expected.
Great job by Magnificent Plumbing Inc in cleaning up my clogged sewage main drain pipe. He explained to me each and every detail and what to do to avoid future clogs from the roots . Reasonable pricing and quite punctual attending the same day. Would certainly recommend his services in the East Bay
The service was utterly AWESOME. EDGAR came and took such excellent care of me. He replaced the water heater in a few hours. Thank you so much for the excellent service. Barbara Meier - Alamo CA
Had a water heater replaced by Star plumbing. Water heater overflow leaked, asked Star plumbing to make it right and fix it so it doesn't leak and was ghosted by the company.
Summary -------------- I came home to a flooding garage and immediately called Star Plumbing, trusting their strong Yelp reviews. They responded quickly and turned off the leaking pipe, recommending I immediately replace my water heater. However, things went downhill from there. The plumber told me he would return in a couple hours with the new water heater but didn't return until 7 hours later with the new water heater, which would have been fine if he had given me updates along the way but he didn't; I had to reach out myself to get them, which was unprofessional and added to my stress. After installation, they revealed the original leak was actually from a separate circulation pump--not the water heater!--making me wonder if the costly replacement was even necessary. Small oversights, like leaving the drained sediment on my garage floor, felt unprofessional. The repaired pipe began leaking again the same evening. In the end, I felt taken advantage of, having spent $3,800 without fully resolving the original issue and possibly unnecessarily replacing my water heater. While Star Plumbing seems knowledgeable, I can't recommend them after this experience. Entire review ------------------- I came home after a short trip and was met with a homeowner's nightmare: water pouring out of my garage. When I opened the garage door, water flooded out, and I feared the worst--thinking it might be a major leak from inside the home, threatening the floors, furniture, and carpet. I eventually traced the problem to a pipe near my water heater that was spraying water everywhere, soaking the walls and garage floor. With no idea where the water shutoff valve was or how to stop it, I felt completely overwhelmed and in desperate need of help. I found Star Plumbing on Yelp and saw that they had great reviews, so I gave them a call. They were able to come right away, which was a huge relief, and the plumber understood how anxious I was. He promptly shut off the leaking pipe and let me know that I'd need a new water heater. Based on their initial guidance, I trusted them and agreed. However, things became complicated after that. My water heater was a unique model, so the plumber had to drive a bit farther to pick it up. He left around noon and said he'd be back in a couple of hours. By 3 p.m., I hadn't heard anything, so I called to check in. They assured me they'd be there soon, but it wasn't until nearly 7 p.m. that they came back. They didn't provide any updates the entire time. I had to reach out for an update. It was frustrating to be left wondering and waiting, especially after already feeling so stressed by the water issue. When they finally returned, they mentioned that the original leak wasn't from the water heater itself, but from a separate circulation pump. This was confusing because I'd been told replacing the water heater was urgent. When I asked for more details, the explanation--that my water heater was "old and needed replacing anyway"--felt a bit weak, especially after I'd already committed to the replacement. It would have been more believable if they said something like that the leak might damage the water heater in some way or posed a safety risk, but the vague response left me with an unsettling sense that I might have paid for something unnecessary. During installation, a few other details added to my concerns. For example, they drained the old water heater's sediment directly onto my garage floor, leaving a mess. Then, they used my home broom to sweep it around without asking. These small things might seem trivial, but a bit more consideration would have gone a long way. And, oddly, they placed the new water heater's manual on a random shelf; the manual being slightly burned--I'm not sure if they meant to do that or leave the manual there. Finally, the plumber offered to replace the leaking circulation pipe for an additional $200, which I agreed to. That's when I began wondering if fixing the pipe (and not replacing the entire water heater) from the start might have saved me a lot of hassle and expense. The same pipe, however, started leaking again the same evening. Star Plumbing did help me figure out how to turn off the water to that pipe, which I appreciated. But it did leave me thinking if I'd known how to do that from the beginning, the fix wouldn't have costed anything. In the end, I spent $3,800 on a water heater that I'm not convinced I needed, and the original leaking pipe problem remains unresolved (albeit temporarily contained by the shutoff valve). Star Plumbing is clearly skilled and knowledgeable, but my experience felt unnecessarily confusing, stressful, and left me feeling taken advantage of. So, while I recognize their plumbing expertise, I can't fully recommend them based on this experience.
Over the weekend we noticed water pooling in the garage. Traced it back to the overflow pipe from the full drain pan under the 12 year old water heater. Reached out on Yelp and Will responded right away with a request for more information. We talked, he walked me through scenarios and types of water heaters. I considered them and eventually decided to remain with the type currently installed for simpler replacement. We did not want to take a chance on the water heater being unavailable during cold weather. Will provided the kinds of water heaters that could replace the old one, and after an on-site visit the next morning, gave me the estimate for replacement. I was looking at a few options, but we decided on him for his responsiveness, professional attitude and attention to detail. He showed up the next day with a brand new water heater on his truck, and quickly and efficiently removed to old one and installed the new one, with a new drain pan and properly connected to the existing plumbing fittings. He explained some basic maintenance techniques to make the unit last longer, cleaned up the area and was done in under 3 hours! It was a relief to fix the leak and get the new unit installed and the old one hauled away efficiently, with minimum disruption to residents. I appreciate his professionalism and expertise in his field.
We had our toilet clogged, along with it gurgling when running the washer. This indicated to me that the sewer line was clogged. Will responded to my Yelp request within a minute of sending it out. He was over within the hour. My wife was home, but I was not. She let him in, and he did his thing. He cleared the sewer clog by removing the toilet, as we did not have a sewer clean out, and going through that way. He reinstalled the toilet, and left. Once I got home, I will say that the caulking applied around the toilet was very sloppy. I ended up trimming the caulking myself, but also found that one of the bolts was not bolted down on one side, as the threads was bent. I contacted Will about this concern, and he was back the next day. He cut the top off, and tightened down the bolt. Overall, he did fix what we needed at a reasonable price, but the finishing touches was a miss. I rate him a 3.5 stars (Yelp only allows whole stars), as he needed to come back to finish the job properly and the sloppy caulking. Appreciate him coming back to finish the job, as some contractors would ignore my followup request.
Our water heater started to leak so I looked up for help on Yelp. Given the emergency situation, I appreciated it that Mr. Walid was the first business owner to respond. What also stood out to me what his kind offer to check out the leakage issue for a free diagnosis. He helped clean up all the water that had accumulated and prevented the flooding in my living room. Per his recommendation, we replaced the old water heater that was totally damaged with a brand new one. The whole job took up two visits because it took a while for the water tank to be emptied. The next day, even though we had an appointment with him, we could not get back home on time but he patiently waited for us for more than half an hour until we return so he could complete the job. His price for removal, hauling, and replacing etc. seemed reasonable. On top of that he offered us six years warranty on the water heater and one year warranty on the labor. Finally, he patiently gave us instructions on how to use and clean our new water heater to prevent build up. I highly recommend this business. A gift from GOD. Thank you.
Second review: I’ve used Magnificent Plumbing before.andI decided to use them again when our garbage disposal began to fail. I called on a weekend, hoping to get on the schedule early the following week. The cal taker said he could have someone come out that same day and give a free estimate. I asked if there was an extra charge for coming on a weekend and he said no. Eddie arrived on time. He was courteous and professional. We conversed in broken Spanish and broken English as he explained the problem. We came to what we thought was a fair price to replace the broken disposal and he completed the job quickly and neatly. Eddie cleaned up and took away the broken disposal. I was satisfied with Eddie’s workmanship and professionalism. The person who answered my call was easy to work with and helpful. I would use Magnificent Plumbing again. First review: I’m very satisfied with this company. They were professional on the telephone, offered fair pricing, and were able to set a service appointment in a reasonable time. The plumbers were knowledgeable and personable. I would use this company again.
We had a leak in the pipe leading from garage wall to our garden hose. We weren't able to fix it ourselves because the leak was inside the wall. We assumed it was caused by corrosion but it turned out that the pipe had been bent a lot time ago and at the bend right behind the stucco was a small hole. Will contacted me just a few minutes after I submitted my Yelp request and offered to come by between 9 and 11 and promptly arrived at 9. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue, provided a reasonable quote, then began the project. It took only 1.5 hours from the time he checked it out, cleaned up, and closed the hole in the wall back up. No more weird leak! He also checked out our water heater in my dad's house and since I live next door, he took a look at mine, informed me that both units look good, provided me with some advice on flushing them out since our area has hard water, and recommended when to replace them. Prompt and professional service, good communication, and friendly. Thanks, Will!
We dodged a bullet. We were quoted $11K by Star to reroute all of our water piping because we found a small leak in the garage. It turned out to be caused by a hole that connected to the water heater. The condensation from the HVAC ate through the copper pipe because this type of water is very acidic. So, because the estimate was so high (and became higher) we got second and third opinions from other plumbers. None of them told us to reroute the piping. The plumber we went with fixed the leak for around $300. He showed us the hole in the copper pipe. If we had moved forward, it would have been disastrous with busted drywalls and $11K in plumbing fees plus a day of disruption... and we would still experience leaks... because the water pipes were not the issue! They didn't bother to look for the source of the leak and just presented us with the worst-case scenario. Lesson learned: Always get other bids and opinions because not all service companies will look out for your best interest.
Renee and his team are my secret sauce for every tough crazy drain, water, “what the heck is going on” problem. He answers my text, comes over, and has the brains to survey all around the property and inside the house to figure out what needs to be done. His cameras go deep deep into the pipes, and he cleans out all the debris, the roots, the stuff I couldn’t even imagine goes into the drains, the water French drains, even after I payed he answers me immediately, send a live videos of his cameras footage inside my places, I didn’t even think could be clogged or needed cleaning.. really sharing because rainy season is coming and it’s time now to give him a call .. his office is professional and his team works smart and his equipment he really uses to stretches ir, he’s actually irreplaceable.. and I’m humbled and grateful to Magnificent Plumbing.. they are Magnificent Plumbing!!
Update: After I posted my original review, the company contacted me to address my concerns and offered me a solution which was acceptable. It seems like they took my concerns to heart. Original review: When scheduling the appointment, I asked multiple times what the price range would be for a drain clearing. They told me that they could not give me a price and the technician would give me an estimate. The technician arrived and quoted me a very high price for clearing the drain but would not put it in writing. Of course I could have refused the service, but not having a functioning kitchen sink, I felt Forced into accepting the service at the high price. It took him all of 10 minutes to run the snake through the pipe, and that was it.This practice of not giving you a price range upfront Seems very unusual to me. I would not use this overpriced company again.
I sent a request for a quote this morning and within 5 minutes, Will replied and said he would provide a free estimate. It was for replacing the shower valve and spout, replacing both bathroom sink faucets, and fixing the valve under the sink. Milad arrived around 9 am and was honest with the valve and said he can fix it after opening it up instead of telling me he needed to replace the whole piping which would have been $1500. He replaced the shower valve in the morning, and ordered the sink faucets. He left around 11 am and came back close to 5 pm to to do the rest. He would tell me when he had to turn off the water and when the project was completed. he cleaned everything up when he was done. Prompt and friendly service and a fair price. I highly recommend them!
We discovered a leak in the kitchen sink late on a Saturday night. Sent out a request for quote and Will responded within minutes. Was able to schedule a Technician to come out for a free diagnosis the next day. The Technician came as scheduled on Sunday and within minutes was able to diagnose the problem and fixed the issue by replacing the garbage disposal and piping/washers underneath the sink. Even helped me remove an old reverse osmosis system that was no longer in operation and was just taking up space under the sink. Pricing for parts and labor was reasonable considering it was Sunday on short notice. The Technician was professional, courteous and very skilled at his job. Will definitely call again next time for any plumbing or water heater needs. Highly recommended!
