I just had a simple service from them through my home insurance company. My plumber, Jerry Hamlin was early, quick, quiet, clean and considerate to wear shoe covers and not mess up my floors. He was also kind enough to give me some advice for future repairs. Never had a bad experience with this company!

My warranty company sent MacLin Plumbing to address an issue with my water heater. Matt from MacLin Plumbing arrived the next day, right on time. He was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He replaced a part on one water heater and adjusted the connections on the second one. Matt also provided helpful advice on what to look for in the future. Overall, it was a five-star service!

*AVOID* Cost me thousands of dollars because they did not want to do the job assigned by my home warranty company, American Home Shield. MacLin Plumbing CO. was assigned to my service ticket regarding my leaking hot water tank. As many Texas residents, my gas water tank is in the attic. When MacLin came to look at the tank, they told me that due to Texas regulations, they needed 25 in. clearance to get the new tank up in the attic, my clearance was only around 24 in., so I would need to provide the clearance in order for them to complete the job. They told me they do not provide access and my only other option would be a tankless water heater, which would not be covered by the warranty and cost thousands more. As a first time home owner that knows nothing about this stuff, I trusted that the plumber would have the experience with attic tanks to advise me honestly on my options. When I proposed if I could remove the attic stairs myself, which would give the necessary 25" clearance, he refused, and said it would not be safe for his men. Foolishly, I took his word that this was my only option, and agreed to their service provided I gave them 25" access. After consulting multiple people, and two plumbing companies about this, I not only realized it would be structurally impossible to carve out the clearance MacLin supposedly needed to complete the job, but also both plumbers told me their team would simply remove the pieces of wood trim to give enough clearance to complete the job. I was pressured to sign the service contract on the spot, then after getting my second opinions, AHS refused to allow me to reassign a new plumber to the service ticket, my only option was a cash out for far less than it would now cost me to replace out of pocket. A neighbor recommended Proven Plumbing. I called at 8:30am on a Friday, they showed up within an hour, & returned to do the job on Monday. They had NO problem cutting the wood trim to make enough clearance for the tank, even replacing it after the job was completed. I HIGHLY recommend using Proven Pluming for your water heater needs, especially if it is in the attic.

A plumber came to my home WED, saw the drywall damage in the ceiling that’s coming from the upstairs bath; plumber goes upstairs to the bath, sees a saturated bath mat, tells me it’s a sloppy shower and leaves. He doesn’t even cut into the drywall to see if there is the possibility of a plumbing leak. THURS I pay to get the drywall cut out and mold is discovered - too much mold to be caused by a ‘sloppy shower.’ This has been growing over time and we’ve only been in this home 4 weeks. Contractor says he has never met a plumber that didn’t cut drywall to see what’s going on behind it. Today/FRI, I called my home warranty company (AHS) to find out the status of Maclin coming back and finding the leak only to discover Maclin has cancelled the follow up service call. I’m so frustrated I don’t want another Maclin employee in my home. AHS has found a different plumbing company for me.🤞

DO NOT use this company. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. We are brand new home owners and only 3 weeks into living at the new residence we had our water heater stop working. We called our Home Warranty company (AHS) to assist and they connected us with Maclin Plumbing Co. After scheduling, one of their plumber came out to assess our 12 YR OLD water heater for damage. During the visit, I mentioned hitting the reset trip switch (ONCE) as mentioned in the user manual. The plumber decided to misconstrue this statement and reported to our home warranty company that the electrical damage was due to MISUSE caused by the home owners REPEATEDLY hitting the trip switch. This is not only a lie but extremely unprofessional and has caused us to be denied on our claim. Did I mention the water heater is 12 years old? (Avg. life of water heater is 8-12 Yrs). In reality a faulty wire had caused a electrical shortage that burned through the wires leading into the heating elements. I tried to contact Maclin Plumbing but the representative was extremely unhelpful and non sympathetic. Additionally the do NOT keep a written report....they only speak to the warranty company over the phone so there's no hard record or evidence. I hate to speculate but I believe there are incentives for the "approved" plumbing companies to deny claims. Maclin Plumbing acted as if they are under the payroll of AHS. I would've hoped for professionalism but none was received. Do yourself a favor and find another reputable company, this surely isn't one.

AWFUL! JUST. PLAIN. AWFUL. This is the company that our home warranty company contracted with, initially Maclin Plumbing seemed great, but that went downhill very quickly. Our water heater was leaking onto particle board, so the board was soggy and wet. They informed me that they would not replace it themselves, but if I left a properly cut piece of plywood they would be able to replace the particle board. Come to find out they just placed the new board on top of the old particle board. Didn't secure it or anything. Okay.. we'll let that go 'cause 'That's how I did it at my house' according to the owner. They finish the job and now we don't have water in the kitchen. The tech leaves because we need to file a new work order with the home warranty company. Two days later he returns to fix the faucet. Again, the tech leaves a huge mess in his wake.. left standing water underneath our sink that we weren't informed about. The next day we lose water pressure in the kitchen. Leave a message and hear nothing in return. Leave two more messages and again, nothing. Finally we call from a different phone line and they answer.. the explain that they will not come out. That no one would cover a 'secondary' issue (caused by the work they did?). In our final conversation they keep referencing a negative review we left with the home warranty company. I do not, and will not, recommend this company to anyone. I'm still left with rusty water stains to clean off the floor of my garage gym.

I had a very troubling experience with this plumbing service. A plumber came to our house on a Friday to address an issue covered by our homeowner’s insurance. He identified the problem and said a crew would return on Monday. I didn’t sign any paperwork at that time, and despite asking him to call my husband for approval, no call was made. My husband left multiple messages that Friday during business hours and no one from the office followed up with him. On Monday, a crew arrived, completed the work, and left without any paperwork or prior communication. Later, the plumber contacted my husband demanding payment, but we requested the paperwork first to ensure insurance coverage. The plumber agreed but still did not provide the necessary documents. Things escalated when the plumber showed up at our house unannounced, banging aggressively on the door for ten minutes while I was home alone with my children. Feeling threatened, I called my husband. He spoke to the plumber, who then threatened him over the phone stating “he better pay or else”. He stayed on our property for 45 minutes. My husband contacted the office, which stated that this behavior was unacceptable and that the owner would follow up. However, we never received any communication from the owner. The unprofessional and aggressive conduct was deeply distressing. If you value respectful and transparent service, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Not sure about the veracity of people leaving negative reviews, I had the complete opposite experience. Today, my upstairs toilet overflowed. Checking the tank, it was filled with a sand-like substance. Checking all of the facets, they all quickly lost water pressure. I don't know anything about plumbing, so I assumed that I had a burst pipe. I requested a service via my homeowner's warranty, and chose MacLin because they were a local company. I called them a short time later, because I thought that my warranty company's description didn't adequately convey the urgency of the matter. I talked to the man who answered the phone (didn't get his name), and he had me do a quick check of the yard for any water leaks (indicating a burst pipe). When I found none, he quickly (and accurately) identified my water softener as the issue. He walked me over the phone on how to bypass it so I could get water to the house again. He also instructed me on what I needed to do to clear the facets to get them working again. 15 minutes later, I had water restored to the entire house. It was only one experience, but it was an awesome one. Will be calling them again if I ever have further plumbing issues.

This company was called out by our home warranty. They are not experts nor do they care about the people/families they are servicing. They just work for the money and are told by home warranty company where their next job is. They don't answer the phone even if you call them right back but the worst part was the "expert" who came out decided both of our hot water heaters needed to be turned off and we believed he knew what he talking about. Several days later we got a second option company and this new guy (who was VERY familiar with Maclin Pumbing) said only one had to be turned off. So my family of 4 went 9 days taking cold showers or asking to use a neighbors. Had this guy cared just a little and listened he should have known that wasn't necessary. And he made sure to use all the right words so the entire until it NOT covered by our home warranty- when the 2nd opinion guy from another company was much more informative and saved us greatly. Also we called on a Friday and they didn't call back until Monday ti schedule an appointment 🙄

This company was called out by our home warranty when our rental had the leaking shower fuacet on the second floor. They claimed that there was nothing wrong with the faucet or shower whatsoever and the cause of the flooding and the leak was sloppy showering. So I told the tenant about the findings and they bought a new curtain, they made it sure that curtain will be closed and no careless showering. But the leaking and flooding still happening, so I checked it myself and found out that the base of the shower faucet is leaking a good amount of water and it is not just leak water downstair but floowing the entire bathroom. File a complain in the home warranty and asked for a recall and revisit but no response and my service requests were cancelled several times. Then I called them and I was told that they are no longer servicing the area and keep insisting that there was no problem and it was just sloppy shower...

Neighbors, run the other direction instead of calling this company. They are not knowledgeable enough about their trade. They came out to clear a blocked kitchen sink drain. We have a clean out with a ptrap below it under our sink. They said they could not get past the ptrap to clear the blockage, so they gave us an estimate of $4500 to bust up our kitchen floor to fix it, then we'd have to go through our home warranty policy to put our kitchen back together. So I called a second plumbing company for another opinion. Had a licensed plumber out, Gary took a couple hours with a standard metal snake and cleared the drain. Gary charged us $282.43. MacLin Plumbing will take advantage of you if you give them the opportunity. Please Please Please do not use them.

Does not do the work that they claim to do. Claimed to replace the wax ring on toilet, instead just recaulced the toilet. This was obvious looking at the floor bolts that were surrounded by an undisturbed dirt pattern. Later that night since the actual leak wasn't fixed the caulking ran around the entire floor on black marble. The Dispatcher is rude and unapologetic to their mistakes. Attempted to send the same tech who didn't do the job the first time back to my house and went off the deep end when faced with logic. The owner should clean this mess up. They are blocked on AHS from coming back to my home.

We scheduled an appt for an estimate. MacLin sent a tech out, gave us a verbal estimate for the repair, and arranged to come by and perform the repair the following day. The next day came and went, and no one came to repair the problem. We have called and emailed them multiple times, but the only answer we've received is that they will "let us know when they are available." To be fair, they did tell us that one of their service trucks broke down, but we only got that answer after repeatedly calling them. We still have a busted pipe and no repair date on the calendar. Just going to go with someone else now.
