I had to have a water heater replaced a few months ago. When Casey came over to do the inspection and gave me the quotes, I was pleasantly surprised that he wasn't salesy at all. He laid out the options in a very clear way, set the right expectations, and gave me time to think them over. I was fed up with other plumbing companies trying to sell me upgrades I didn't need. One of them even tried to sell me a subscription plan! So I ended up going with one of Casey's recommendations and they were very professional with the work. They cleaned up the basement and I didn't have any concerns.

Louie came out to connect our bathroom sink- he was knowledgeable, polite, and trustworthy. We asked about a project we are considering in our laundry room and he took the time to tell us what it would entail, and offered recommendations and suggestions. We will be calling to set up this install in the near future. Lake Cook plumbing is top notch- great, honest guys and Gianna is the go to person who sets up appointments and communicates when techs are dispatched. Found our new favorite plumbing service! Thank you!

This company did outstanding work for our family. They worked very hard and actually figured out a way to LOWER the cost after coming up with an innovative solution to our disaster. Louis and Casey were smart and professional. I will recommend this company to everyone I know. The owner, Jim Barrett, went above and beyond! With his detailed explanation of what he found, and personally speaking to our insurance claim’s person, we were approved to be covered with our home owners insurance! I cannot say enough about this team of men and will also include Gianna who handles scheduling and was a delight to deal with. Thank you Lake Cook Plumbing!!

Our old water heater needed to be replaced. It was leaking and causing a minor flood in the basement. Searched up plumbers in the area and lake cook plumbing was first on the list. They said they could come out the next day, so I was excited! They had to remove the utility room doors, to not keep them longer I said I would put the doors back on myself. They installed a new water heater and the plumber was nice and up front. It cost me $3000. Things were good for about 3 months but the pressure relief valve started leaking. Then a guy named Mike came out, he wasn’t a pleasant person, but he swapped out the gas valve, and we haven’t had a huge problem yet. Today I went to finally reinstall the doors to the utility closet and the bottoms are ripped and torn to where they won’t stay in the tracks and the rail above the door is bent so the wheels pop out. While i am grateful for the initial quick “we can be there tomorrow urgency”, that is the only good thing I have to say and will not use them again.

Overcharged, didn't fix our problem and did not clean up after themselves. Not helpful in our issue. Would never use again or recommend them to anyone. Waste of money and poor service.

While our 22-year old water heater was seemingly working fine, I knew it was well past it's useful life and started looking to replace it. I called four organizations for an estimate. Only one organization came out to my home -- Lake Cook Plumbing. They sent two representatives out that reviewed not just the water heater, but the gas/water valves and connections feeding into it as well. I received a proposal later that day and they were very responsive to my follow-up questions. The other organizations I called did not come out to our home. One firm wanted pics on the existing system and their proposal consisted of a text. They were the cheapest. The other firm provided a formal proposal, answered my questions, and was a bit cheaper than Lake Cook. I decided to go w/ Lake Cook Plumbing as their owner, Jim Barrett, followed up on their proposal and provided some additional guidance on things to look for in other proposals. Lake Cook Plumbing was ready to install a new water heater and replace the gas/water valves in the system the day after I gave them the green light. When they had some scheduling challenges, Jim (the owner) showed up to assist his plumber (Eric Geyer - 16 years experience) early the next morning. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work Jim and Eric did for us. They were thoughtful, thorough, and professional during the entire installation. While Lake Cook Plumbing was slightly more expensive than the other proposals I received, I have an incredible peace of mind that this system will be efficient and safe for another 10-15 years. I received e-mails from them both times someone came out to our home - with pictures of the representatives that were on their way. (While I was home for both visits, this process made me feel this organization would be much safer if something happened and my wife was home alone to deal with it. Small gesture, but much appreciated.) Jim and Eric did a great job -- I'd highly recommend Lake Cook Plumbing! Mike G. Barrington, IL

Lake Cook plumbing replace my pump on Zoller PN53-0001. Mike 1 took my old pump with him, never ask permission for this. Zoller Pump was very noisy, and never stop running. Company send Mike 2 to fix a problem,he fixed s a noise. Actually,Mike 2 show me the problem, that pump is not collecting water to any level. Next day Mike 2 get scared owner and denied his words. They fixed a heavy noise, but pump is running all the time. Company guarantee pump for 3 years, but forget to show warranty on a job-usually 1 year, but not in this company. Jim owner told me to call Zoeller Co. Zoeller is willing to replace pump, but Jim told them he did not see problem. Now, I file complain to BBB. Today, Zoller Co told me to contact where pump was bought by lake Cook Plumbing and exchange for new one. For my request owner Jim,told me he will contact police about me. Jim told he would not guarantee his pump or job,and I should call another service and pay again. Zoller Pump the biggest problem is switch, or damaged-see google article. I cannot understand why I should pay twice for the same job. Also,my old pump was under warranty and why Lake Cook Plumbing took it from my house.

I had a problem with my ejector pit float triggering the pump (water was coming out of the drain) but could run the pump manually. I called Lake Cook Plumbing to help diagnose the issue. The plumber basically immediately showed me a quote for $835 without even trying to look into the actual issue. Looking at the retail price of the pump, it's about $350. So apparently the labor to install this is near $500, which took less than an hour of work, wowza. The plumber entered my house without wearing a mask multiple times though he put it on as soon as he got in, but still that made me a bit uneasy. He made a bit of a mess with the install and did not clean up after himself which was mildly annoying. And the last issue I had was the pump did not reach the outlet in the ceiling so he just said "you need to buy an extension cord" , so he left my house without actually confirming that it even worked. I'm satisfied with how quickly they were able to get here and resolve the issue, but I think all of the other issues are enough to deter me from using them again.

I called to get an estimate for rodding out window well drains. I was specific about what I expected. Instead of getting a free estimate, it would cost me $50 for someone to come out. When their plumber came out, I reviewed want I wanted, he said that they would have to bring a camera to look inside the drain to see if it was plugged. This would cost me $479 and then they would see if they felt they could clear it. I was told that "If it turned out to be completely blocked, it could get really expensive". When I said that $479 is a lot of money just to stick the camera in the drain, he replied that they have to pay for the depreciation of the camera, call a plumber out to analyze the picture... sounded to me like they might not know even after they had pictures. The estimate was supposed to let me know what the cost would be. I rejected going forward and tested the drains by flooding them with water from my hose which they handled just fine. I felt like I was being led on; why wouldn't they have brought the camera to start with?

reached out to Lake Cook Plumbing because they were rated as a top plumbing service company in Lake county, was not far from the most accurate recommendation i have ever seen. we initially got a quick quote and started the work shortly after, during that time we ran into more problems and had to start a bigger more expensive project another day. upon the start of the second round, and during the fixing of the issues, the service tech called me and told me that the solution was more simple than we assumed, and they were able to get the work done for much less than originally expected. the honesty goes a long way, they are not after just running up your bill and doing work that may not even be needed. they came in with professional opinion, laid out the options and were transparent and honest to complete an amazing job. will be my go to plumber in lake county from now on, don't miss out on this golden resource. #mustshare

I felt very fortunate to have Louie, a plumber with over 20 years in the business, come out to clear the pipes leading out of our kitchen sink. Louie is the gold standard of plumbing professionals. He was very meticulous in the service he provided, explaining everything he was doing. He also ran the bathroom sinks and tubs to make sure that while he cleared the blockage in the kitchen sinks, he didn't push the blockage to plumbing in another area of our home. Upon finishing the job, Louie also offered maintenance advice to ensure we would avoid the same problem in the future, and he let me know about discount coupons I could find if I needed any additional service in the future. I think Louie provided a great value for the service he performed. He was the consummate professional, yet he was very amiable. He made me feel like he was a trusted friend rather than just another customer he had to deal with.

I have had a few plumbing companies complete work or do estimates in the several years I've lived here. One was great, but is no longer working in my area. 2nd one was unbelievably expensive and rather creepy to tell the truth. Lake Cook installed a water heater in 2007 - working great and no issues. Reasonably priced and installed quickly. I called them again after #2 plumbing company (has a smiley face on their logo) gave me very little info and a "take it or leave it, cos you're going to call me again" attitude. Mike was GREAT! He explained the issue, showed me what was wrong, gave me options and replaced the device quickly and easily. I got an upgraded device and it was still BELOW the cost quoted by #2. All done in about 45 minutes!! Can't say enough good things. I will definitely call them again if needed. Thanks, Mike!!

Although the work was done properly, the prices were very high. Some laughable as a matter of fact. They replaced a leaking valve in my crawl space, replaced a wax ring on one my toilets and capped off a gas line from a grill I disconnected. $325 for replacing a valve in a crawl? That seems fair I have been under there. Ugly. Now comes the comedy. $363 to replace a toilet seal. They charged more for pulling the toilet than going under the house. Seriously? Toilet was 20 steps from the door. The gas line topped it off. The gas was already off. All they needed to do is unscrew a line and screw on a cap $145. No I do not recommend them. They did it in a hour and a half. No breakdown for parts and labor. Based on investigation, parts total was under $50. So you figure it out.

I can’t say enough good things about this company. We’ve had Mike B. For our last several jobs and he is knowledgeable, honest, and extremely helpful. He helped me so much with our recent water damage and pipe breakage and pointed me in the right direction how to take care of it all. I would have had no idea what to do for follow up and reconstruction. More recently Nick has come with him and he is great too. The office staff are reliable and organized and they communicate very well. The plumbers come when they say they will, prompt, very courteous of our home and very clean. The prices are legit and you never have to wonder what you’re paying for, it’s all laid out and explained for you. Feels great to have a company we can rely on in the future!

We have used Lake Cook Plumbing for several projects this year. We live in an older house and plumbing issues came one after another. We called Lake Cook Plumbing for these issues. Mike and Cory came to our house and provided options for dealing with our problems. The thing that I really appreciated, is that they offered us a low cost option for these issues. Mike and Corey were very upfront with us and offered the most cost effective solution to out problems. WE agreed and have had several plumbing issues resolved over the past two months. As long as you get Mike and Cory, I definitely recommend Lake Cook Plumbing. They really have helped us out during some serious plumbing issues!
