Highly recommend Joe's Family Plumbing who was recommended to me by a friend. I got an appointment right away and was kept informed when Connor was on his way. Connor was incredible. He was so knowledgeable, so friendly, honest and even allowed me to watch while he snaked and put a camera down the sewer pipe. He was able to fix my issue and the cost was reasonable. I would definitely use Joe's family plumbing again.
Service was efficient, fast, and accurate. Damien did an outstanding job. Alicia in the office was a pleasure to work with. Thank you Joe and team!
Edwin came out and investigated the issue. He has a great attitude and is knowledgeable in the plumbing field. He even did a great job cleaning up before leaving! I had suspected roots so my apartment manager called C. Lacey Plumbing out twice in the past 3 weeks. Even though they said to me personally that they did not find anything in the pipes, they reported to my apartment manager that they found flushable wipes and brown napkins!! Joe's Plumbing was then called and Edwin showed up to handle the situation! Roots are out and a plan to prevent them has been proposed. Thank you Edwin!
My developer used joes for rough-in plumbing work and had a very poor experience. The initial work was incomplete and incorrect, requiring multiple return visits to fix missed items and errors. The crew was polite but appeared inadequately trained, with little to no supervision by an experienced or licensed plumber. Basic plumbing details were missed, causing rework and delays. Communication was also a problem. I was told one thing, then provided email documentation showing those statements were false. After that, the company stopped responding. When I later called for warranty service during the holidays for a toilet leaking waste onto the floor in a full house, they refused to send anyone due to a dispute with the developer and said someone would call me a week later. I would look elsewhere. I have been nothing but nice and even tried to assist with the developer dispute but was met with continued slander, confusion and missed opportunities to correct their work.
Unfortunately we began a job with them prior to Thanksgiving to re-plumb a new bathroom. They have yet to complete the job and do not return calls!! The plumbing is in the wrong place as well. They sell you all right to get the job but then leave you hanging. been calling to have them come out to job site for almost a week now to no avail.
New home owners, house we bought is in an area where the home inspection doesn't have to look that in depth at the plumbing or water pipes. October 2nd, there was a water mess all over my bathroom and Livingroom floors. Thankfully, my boyfriend Aj & I were able to clean up with no damage to our belongings or the walls of the home. My neighbor spoke very highly of this company and provided us their contact info. Spoke with Gail via phone, she advised there wouldn't be any fees to have someone take a look at our issue, which was incorrect because we were charged a $98 "Service Fee" even though no work was completed that night. David came that Friday night, he advised us that we had a slab leak and would need to replace all of the pipes/plumbing to the house. Since it was getting late, we left our water off and would get the pipes replaced by David on Saturday Oct. 3rd. Our water was off around 9am Friday, we were told that we would focus on this leak replacement & then we'd discuss when to do the rest of the house but this replacement would come off the overall total. Saturday came, I received a call from Gail around 9:30am, she stated that she would get our information to David (since we requested him) and he should be to our house within an hour to an hour and a half. Well he never showed, I gave it time before calling because sometimes things happen & they could have been stuck on another site. So 1pm I spoke with Gail again, she didn't realize that David still hadn't showed up. She said she'd call him and call me back but I never got that call back. So Aj called Joe's and they told him that they were going to send another guy out. They sent Derek, he showed up after 3pm (Still NO water). He wasn't even aware that we had a slab leak, so he didn't have the proper tools to even begin. He left to get tools from another guy in the area, which took about 40mins and he also had to go to Home Depot (took another 30mins) because he didn't have all the parts he needed either. He mentioned to me that he was sent to another house in the area and used all his supplies then, he even admitted that he was supposed to come to my house first but the company didn't provide clear instructions on which location to go to first. When I mentioned the replacement and costs, he told me he wasn't sure what this would cost. I told him that David quoted us $425 for the actual replacement, he called his boss but his boss didn't know either. Derek only did a "temporary fix", instead of a full replacement that David was going to do. Top it off, Derek got blue glue on my tub and didn't clean it off, it took me some hard core scrubbing to get it off. They were very friendly over the phone but the service and communication needs some major work! We just got a call today from Jeremy about an invoice for the work, so I asked if this was the receipt because we never got one after Aj paid over the phone the same day October 3rd, 2020. Jeremy didn't realize we already paid for the service, please start communicating with your team!! We paid $425 for a "temporary fix" and $98 for the "servicing fee", so a total of $523 which was WASTED down the drain!!! We decided to go with another company to fix the pipe/plumbing for the whole house.
My daughter used these guys first. She was happy with them. When I needed a plumber, she recommended him. We needed the main drain line snaked. We called & they did come out the same day. The guys were very nice and prompt. Here's where it starts to get tricky. See, we had another plumber out a couple years ago. I knew we had a clean out access in front of our house. They insisted we did not. They decide to go up on the roof and snake it through a pipe. They did have things running for a few hours. They also gave us a bill for $300! They said it was because they had to go on the roof. Well, I paid the bill and they left. The next day I called the office because our drains were backing up again. They said they'd call me in the morning. Instead of calling, they were at my door at 8am. I was not expecting them and asked why they didn't call. They said the secretary didn't tell them to. Ok, anyways, they get on the roof and snake it again. It again worked but only a few hours. They said I needed to run cameras through the lines. I'm standing here in the middle of a pandemic with half of our income already gone temporarily and these guys already charged me $300 to snake my drain. The next day I had to call them back. It still did not work. At this time she said the owner refused to come out without running cameras through the line. The secretary stated that they ran 100 feet of snake through from the roof already. I argued and demanded they fix what I paid for. They also refused to take a credit card and insisted on check or cash for payment. They did eventually come back but said they think the pipe is crushed and I need to run a camera. I told them to snake it using the clean out. My husband dug up the entire front yard along the pipes to look for a crushed pipe. By the time they got here he had dug it up to the street. Obviously no pipes were crushed. This last guy did however use the proper clean out that I told the first guys we had. Guess what!? That worked! This guy actually fixed it in under 5 minutes. Did I get the extra $200 they charged me back? Nope! All I got was them to finally do it right and a reminder if they have to come back out again they'll require us to use cameras through the pipes. This after they told me it was $100 to clean a drain but if they get on the roof it's automatically $300! Well, them getting on the roof was not necessary. Them refusing to look for and use the clean out was not necessary. If they would of done it right the first time we all would have saved a lot of time & frustration. I would of also saved $200! So, I'm giving them 3 out of 5 stars. I contemplated only 2 but, they did finally come back out & fix it. Would I recommend them? Probably not. They way overcharged me and basically ripped us off. They also tried to charge even more money to do the job they were already paid to do. All of this in the middle of a pandemic / shut down. None of that is their fault but them refusing to come back, arguing for with a customer and then overcharging me. That is all their fault. For this reason I wouldn't recommend them.
Review of Joe’s Family Plumbing: A Tale of Two Experiences My journey with Joe's Family Plumbing encompassed a range of services, from water plumbing adjustments and a slight toilet repair to the more complex installation of a water softener and natural gas equipment. The contrast in my experiences across these services is stark and worth noting. On the one hand, the work done on my water plumbing and the minor toilet repair, to a lesser extent, the installation of the water softener, proceeded smoothly. These tasks were handled with a degree of professionalism and efficiency that I had initially expected across the board. The straightforward approach and successful completion of these particular services provided a glimpse into the potential capabilities of Joe’s Family Plumbing. However, my greatest disappointment lies with the execution of the natural gas plumbing project, which involved introducing natural gas to my home for an instant hot water heater and a pool heater. This aspect of their service was rife with confusion, poor communication, a multitude on ongoing unsatisfactory inspections, and significant professional oversights that severely impacted the project’s trajectory and my satisfaction. The initial misunderstanding about the installation location of the hot water heater (in an indoor model, it’s designed to be designed INDOORS), the proposed non-compliant placement of the pool heater (only after gas has been plumbed to the property and it was clear the area previously proposed would not pass inspection), erratic scheduling, and a disconcerting lack of communication underscored a series of mismanaged steps in the natural gas project. Despite receiving an invoice for incomplete services and confronting them about the myriad issues encountered, the response was a disconnect within the company and a series of unmet promises. In an effort to resolve these significant inconveniences and missteps, I sought compensation. The offer of a mere $250 against the backdrop of a $3600 bill, in response to my request for a 20% discount, was both inadequate and disappointing. This experience with the natural gas plumbing starkly contrasted with the smoother transactions related to water plumbing and repairs, highlighting a disjointed level of service and expertise within the company. Choosing to decline their nominal compensation offer, I feel compelled to share my experiences to provide a fuller picture of what potential customers might expect. While portions of their service, such as water plumbing repairs, were handled competently, the natural gas project was marred by a series of failures that I cannot overlook. This review, therefore, is a tale of two experiences: one satisfactory and the other deeply frustrating. My ordeal with Joe’s Family Plumbing has been enlightening, underscoring the importance of consistent, professional, and communicative service across all aspects of a project. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Joe's Family Plumbing for natural gas projects, despite the smoother execution of other plumbing services.
All around bad experience with this company. Our garden hose spigot was old and the previous owner had painted over it, so it needed to be replaced. I considered doing the job myself but working over 60 hours a week, my wife and I opted to go with Joe's Family Plumbing based on the Google reviews. Job was done by Carl. When I came home from work and looked at the exposed pipe, it was bent at a 45 degree angle. At some point during the process of chipping away the concrete siding of our house to expose the pipe, the plumber's tool hit the pipe and bent it. There's just no two ways about it and I'm not one to complain unjustifiably, ask for any kind of handouts, or try and cheat another man out of an honest day's work, or a job well done - its the principle of the situation that bothers me the most and how this company treats its customers. If the pipe was bent beforehand and if the spigot coming out of the wall had been at an angle, I wouldn't have had any issues to begin with, but considering we use that spigot every day, and knowing it was centered, what repairs were needed, and how poorly the job was done, I contacted the company to explain the situation. Customer service was just as bad and the woman I spoke with was condescending, rude, and only wanted to play "devil's advocate" for the employee's work rather than making it right. Her solution was telling me that she would send out the original plumber and a supervisor to meet with me. Plumber shows up, no supervisor. He was simply dishonest and refused to own up to his own mistake, then he tried charging me extra to fix it. I told him that I'm not paying for that. He told me to hang on while he calls "the boss" and runs it by him. At that point, he just decides to get back into his truck and drive off, leaving my wife and I standing in our yard and waiting around like fools. And that's the gist of it. Anyone reading this, please consider using a different company.
I had a hose leak on top of the water heater. John came out after hours. He examined the hose and went to Home Depot to buy a new hose. After installing the hose, he dabbed at the top of the heater with a rag to remove excess water. He instructed me to turn on the water and the electricity to the heater. I did so. He put his head next to the heater, said it was running and that we were good. John left and within an hour there was a loud pop and some smoke at the wires going into the heater. I turned off the electric. Upon looking at the wires on top, I found they were burned. I called Joe's the next morning at approximately 8 and explained the problem. I was told that it sounds electrical. I confirmed that to be true but reinterated that it was on top of the heater where John had worked, not at the breaker. I was told that a ticket was prepared and a technician would be out. I called again at 12 and explained that I needed someone because if I did need an electrician, I needed to get on the phone to avoid another after hour charge. Again I was told that it was electrical. Again I explained that it was at the heater, not the breaker. I was assured that a ticket was out and someone would check the heater. At 2 when I called, we had the electrical discussion again. The ticket was out and someone would come as soon as possible. At 5 I was told it was electrical, no one was coming, and was hung up on. I have never written a bad review on any business. It is a painful exercise and I do not take the task lightly. My goal is to warn other potential victims who trust that a business will respect a customer and themselves enough to stand by their work. All they would have had to have done is come out and check. I would have bought a new water heater from them or employed an electrician, and have been a devoted customer. I want to add that John was very polite and answered my questions in a professional manner.
Absolutely worst contractor experience ever in 30 years of hiring contractors. Came out to look at the job to provide a quote. I had to call them multiple times to get the quote. Should had taken that as my sign to hire someone else. Received the quote and scheduled the job with them. They never called the day before or the morning of the scheduled date. They did not show up during the scheduled time. I reached out and they said they were delayed on another job but would arrive around noon. Noon came and went with no call or show. Called them again and they rescheduled for the following morning. Showed up late and said they needed to get supplies and do a small job and would be back in an hour. No show again. Called and they said job was bigger than expected, would need to re-quote and would send most experienced person to relook at our job. Scheduled meeting. Again, late. To our surprise same guy who quoted it the first time came to look at the job. Said he would send someone with a camera to get another look at it. No one came, called again. Now scheduled for the next morning. Said they would stay all day and get the job done. Next morning they actually showed up in time, but needed to leave to get the camera. Returned and told us their boss has DOUBLED the price. Our hands are tied because we have another company coming tomorrow to do work that we need this job completed before they can do their job. They were aware of our bind and capitalized on it. They did not even have the courtesy to contact us directly to discuss pricing. They put the men on the job in that position knowing full well we were stuck. I Recommend you look elsewhere for a plumber. Will be reporting them to the BBB after this job is completed. Gave one star because would not post review with a star. They deserve NO Star.
Their tag line is " Where You Are Always Treated Like Family "....they must have a very dysfunctional family . We discovered a leak under the sink and called Joe's to come out and check it out . It was a after hours plumbing call . Service technician Lucas came over and in 4 minutes found leak and tightened the garbage disposal which was causing the leak . He said he felt silly charging for 4 minutes of his time so he called the office - spoke to someone in charge and told me there would be no charge . I gave him $50.00 tip and thanked him for coming over . About two weeks later I received a bill for $195.00 so I called the office and spoke with a very rude unprofessional lady ( did not get her name ). I explained what happened and she turned really ugly really fast . Talking loud and denying that that happened - said I was mistaken- and she has a family to feed . I said I was not going to pay after being told it was waived and told her she wasn't really handling herself well . Next week received s another bill called back - same lady - was ruder this time . I told her I tipped Lucas $50.00 she said that that could come off the bill and I refused and she said the manager would call me tomorrow. No one called so I assumed they realized their error . Yesterday 6 months after the last phone call I received another bill from Joes . I did not respond . Interesting side note we recently had a leak and a leak detector service came out and found where it was located - I asked who he recommended and he said that he would not recommend Joes Family Plumbing . Stay away from these rude people .
We had an unfortunate and unpleasant visit from Joe's family plumbing this morning (06/27). Our kitchen sink has had longstanding clogs necessitating hydro jetting. From the tech's initial arrival, upon asking to wear a mask in our home (due to COVID), he was certain not happy - apparently displeased. Most who enter our home to perform repairs (during COVID) have been very accommodating to the request to wear a mask. When I attempted to explain to my wife we need to locate the main drain for the house, the tech would talk over and interrupt (loud - nearly yelling) - this went on for a few minutes where my wife (finally) asked him to wait a moment (his turn) to speak. In addition, while attempting to help the tech locate the main drain line (inspecting neighbors homes, speaking with HOA, looking through bushes, etc.), the tech just up and left for no apparent reason. He didn't say anything. He just left (drove away). My wife was so displeased with his rudeness, he refused to ever have this tech return to our house. Shortly after, I contacted Joe's Family Plumbing office to determine where the tech had gone (perhaps an emergency). After being on hold for 7 minutes, the office was unable to offer any explanation for his departure, but assured me that I'd receive a return call. It has been over 3hrs - there has been no return call. This was a strange experience. At 1:30p, I contacted another Plumbing company (Flow Pros - http://www.flowprosllc.com - near 5 star review). They arrived within 30 minutes and provided a quote.

I couldn't be there but they ended up charging me over 800 dollars for a unit that is 555 dollars retail. Their final price tag was 200 dollar over the quoted then refused to provide an itemized bill (needed a new valve kit...that is fine just aggravating) I'm a school teacher that just start back to school and feel taken advantage of... i will be taking my business else where in the future. I will try to call tomorrow to try to get an itemize bill. Now, i have no idea if they charged me more than they should have maybe i'm completely off base, but having an itemize bill doesn't seem like i'm asking for a lot. My ac and electricians both provide me with one. They also left siding damaged after not using the same mounting points as the previous tank less water heater used. In addition, they installed it at an angle. i thought these things needed to be level. i have hot water but i'm not happy. The receptionist is super nice though. Update: called them about it not being level and they will send someone out tomorrow. I asked that something be done about the gaping whole in my siding and they said that they will call me tomorrow. At the very least it need to be install in the previous location and weather proof caulking put into the wholes they made. Will up date tomorrow. update: they never installed the controller for the tankless hot water heater. these people are the worst. stay clear ... they are lazy and lie
