The plumber was very nice. He found and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently.
Jake with Jack Ward was literally perfection! He was prompt, efficient, and knew exactly how to fix the problem with the utmost professionalism! We were stressed and under pressure and he calmed us down, got the job done, and reassured us along the way! Thanks Jake, you rock!!
Great work repairing some very old plumbing that failed in my bathroom. A lot of work done right by Christmas eve and under pressure of Leaving me with out a toilet for any longer than necessary Thanks ya'll well done.
They were hired to do a job that was bid 5 days at my company. Took a total of 16 days for them to complete fully. They had to dig out the old pipe and replace it in our rest room. However they took a ton of breaks, and would disappear for hours claiming lunch and parts hunting. When they had the job 98% finished they planned on leaving without cleaning up their mess. Thats where the 16th day came into play. Very disappointed in the work.
Be careful of this company. They came out and provided an estimate. I authorized the work, 2 months after, the problem still occurs. I called and told them about it. They came out again and charge me for the same drainage problem. I did not authorized for them to fix the toilet (my tenant) unit, but they when ahead and fix it without my authorization. They charge $10 for the parts and $175 for the 1 hour labor. Later, I found out the toilet is not fix. I am having Metro investigating on these people. It's so rediculous. I have file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Please think twice before using this company.
I have never in my life encountered a worse-run, less accountable, more financially untrustworthy plumbing business and I urge everyone to avoid this business! We first used Jack Ward & Sons (JW&S) when we moved to East Nashville. The owner was nice, gave us a good deal, and worked with us to fix a complex problem as simply as possible. So we stayed with them as loyal customers. Then the ownership changed hands, and our experience changed dramatically. We had a recurring problem while we were out of the country, renting out our house. JW&S came repeatedly to ream the sewer line. The first time, they reamed it through the toilet, messing up the bathroom, even though they themselves had installed two separate clean-outs in the backyard. As the problem persisted, they repeatedly snaked the drain pipe, but were telling us that the entire sewer line needed to be replaced, which would have involved jackhammering up our cement carport and costing us thousands upon thousands of dollars. But after three or four reamings, the blockage was removed and the costly, laborious work turned out to be unnecessary. Imagine where we would be and what we would have paid if we have trusted them! We repeatedly -- REPEATEDLY -- asked for the evidence of their diagnosis that that sewer line needed replacing. They claimed to have images from a snake with a camera on the end. They kept saying they would send us the images. They never did. When we returned from abroad, my husband went to the JW&S office with a blank check and said we wanted to clear our bill with them. The whole situation had been very frustrating and we just wanted to pay them and be done with it. We had received a bill for over $500, so went expecting to pay that amount. But the woman at the reception desk said the total was a hundred dollars more than that. My husband paid it and we assumed we were done with them. I then called and asked them to send me a copy of every bill for every service they had performed while we were abroad so that I could figure out the strange accounting error. The new owner was conciliatory on the phone and promised to send the bills. They never came. I was concerned about where the extra one hundred dollars came from, but decided to let it slide, just for the sake of being done with it. Then, three months later, I got another bill from JW&S for $175! This was well after we had gone to their office with a blank check and said we wanted to clear all accounts with them, which was weeks after their last "service!" I went down to the office to demand an accounting. They claimed "computer difficulties," at first, but I waited. Then on a different computer, they pulled up my file, but couldn't find a complete accounting. They did find the bill that was marked unpaid for $175, but by now I had no trust in them or their accounting. The owner started leafing through original work reports and said it was all there, but by now was becoming belligerent (as was I). Finally, I told them that they should credit me the $175 since it was their mistake. They refused, saying that it was my fault for leaving the country! I agreed to pay them (which I highly regret) but promised that I would make this story known to the general public. In total, we seem to have paid them over $1,000 for running a snake down the sewer pipe three times.
I selected Jack Ward Plumbing after doing some research and reading the positive reviews on Yelp so I'm disappointed by the experience I had. Particularly 3 issues and the lack of follow-up or resolution. 1. I spent around 3500 to have a tank less water heater installed a couple of months ago. My wife came home from work about an hour after the plumber left and asked if I smelled gas. I said no but then I had been sitting in the room next to it all day. Somewhere between 2 and 3am she wakes me up and said it's really strong we need to get out the house. We got my 5yr old up went outside and called Piedmont gas. They confirmed gas was leaking from both ends of a pipe JWP installed and shut the gas off. JWP sent the same guy out the next day to repair it. 2. During the original install the plumber drilled a hole in the wall which went to the outside of the house. The hole was drilled to run a vent to the outside the house. My tank is in the basement. When the plumber went outside he realized he drilled it to low so he used the hole that was already there for the previous water tank. 3. The plumber was the only one there so he couldn't get the old water tank upstairs to haul it off. He rolled it to my back patio and said he'd send someone for it. I didn't get much feedback after I called the next day to tell them my family was in the house while it was leaking gas from 4p to 3a and that we had to go outside at 3am while the gas company checked it. I called the plumber that did the job about the hole in the wall and he responded by telling me what to get from home depot to fill it. I later called JWP'S office and they promised to send someone out to take care of it. This was a month ago and it's still not fixed. They also said they'd send someone to pickup and haul off the old water tank however it's still sitting on my patio 2 months later. I escalated my call to a lady that I think was related to the previous or current owner. She promised to have someone fix the hole in the wall and haul off the old water tank but I haven't heard a word. I even told her I wanted to share the feedback with her because the first issue could have resulted in a tragic ending and because they had a good reputation. Now I feel like I should have took the disgruntled irate approach because being the nice guy and trying to work with them got me no where.
I have worked with Jack Ward & Sons Plumbing Company for a few years now. Today, was the last time. They installed a new toilet a couple of years ago. Not long after, the steal was leaking. I had to get them out to repair and reset it. I've had them out to do annual service checks and toilet valve repairs. Is it me, or does everyone have to replace toilet parts on the regular now?! This past March, I had them out to check every toilet, shower, tub, faucet - anything associated with water - for leads and wear. I even asked that address specific toilets that were "running". The tech, Michael, assured me all was "good to go". Invoiced $305. Things were not "good to go". We still had a running toilet and a leak that was pushing our water bill higher and higher. I had them out again yesterday. Gaige replaced a hose bib, shower cartridge, flush valve, and toilet wax ring. He was here for about 4 hours. Invoiced $460 (we got a discount due to them being here in March). Later in the day, after Gaige had left, we flushed the toilet and it had a loud dripping sound. I am not exaggerating regarding the noise. I was surprised that Gaige would leave knowing the toilet had this sound. I spoke with their office this morning (today). Gaige would be sent back out this afternoon. Gaige arrived and checked out the toilet. He advised me that to resolved the loud dripping nose in our toilet, we would need to replace the toilet fill valve ($15 part). However, for him to do it, I would have to pay an additional $150 service fee on top of the price of the part. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was not impressed. I asked him that during the 4 hrs he spent here the day before, he could not have replaced this part? Instead, he wanted to charge me for ANOTHER service call stating it was a "separate issue". I just asked him to leave before I said something I would not be proud of later.

First let me say, I would absolutely hire these guys again. I don't believe in leaving sensational reviews or anything but I do certainly feel like Ward and Sons deserves my 5 star review. I hired them in January of 2020 to do a rather large job, repiping my entire cast iron drain line. After receiving their bid (which was a fraction of what the next best guy was going to charge me) I hired them. However there was some miscommunication regarding the exact details of the job. I talked with the lead plumber and he graciously agreed to preform the work exactly as I had originally envisioned it and at the originally agreed upon price. While on the job they went above and beyond what was expected of them several times. At the end, I was charged exactly the agreed upon price in their bid even though in my mind they could easily have added on extra fees for services that could have been considered outside of their scope of work. These guys have more than earned my future business. As a side note, the lead plumber on my project was a young guy named Levi. I believe Levi did an exceptionally good job navigating the tough issues this particular job presented. When he eventually did run into an issue he had a hard time with, he sought out the advice of an additional experienced plumber rather than just doing the job his own way. This, to me, shows great humility and willingness to learn and leave the customer with a job that's done correctly the first time. Jack Ward and Sons is lucky to have him. Just an FYI for transparency, I'm leaving this same review here and on Angie's List.
My water heater burst a few weeks ago, and while Jack Ward & Sons didn't have the cheapest quote out of all the plumbers I called, the price was reasonable (in comparison) and the people I spoke to in the office were very friendly and helpful. They patiently and kindly explained what would be involved and what was included, how the price was calculated, and what it would cost extra for emergency service if I wanted it done same-day instead of the next day (several of the plumbers I spoke to wouldn't have been able to come for 4-5 days, which would have left me without running water the whole time because there was no hot-water shutoff in my house!). Travis & Jayce showed up when they said they would, and took time to talk to my home warranty company on the phone before doing anything so I could make sure I'd qualify for reimbursement, and then efficiently removed my old water heater, installed a new one with a new drip pan, and added a hot water shutoff so I could turn off just the water heater in the future. They also identified a leak in a pipe I hadn't noticed, and replaced that section of pipe. They worked cleanly, quickly, and with high quality, and were also very friendly throughout, answering my questions and offering advice about water heaters in general, the leaking pipe, and about working with contractors when I have to get all the water damage taken care of. Great experience all around! Hopefully I won't need a new water heater again anytime soon, but I'll keep them in mind for any other plumbing jobs that come up.
Unfortunately cannot recommend Jack Ward based on my experience with them. First off, they ARE responsive and managed to send someone out to the property very quickly when water started leaking out through the ceiling and light fixtures. I enjoyed working with their techs and team at the beginning of our plumbing issue. However, they blamed it on clogs (which was potentially a small part of the problem) that then magically reappeared just a few days later. After 4 visits to the property and ~$2600 the problem was unresolved. Moreover, on their last visit, they removed the toilet to put a camera down the drain system and didn't reseal the toilet when they were done — the inhabitants came back and used the toilet and water ran all out of the base. With repeat visits clearly not solving the issue as water kept coming through the ceiling after using the upstairs shower and toilet system, they were unwilling to work with me on price or acknowledge that their "solutions" were not addressing the core issue. They also did not believe the tenants, who are generally knowledgeable about home repairs, when they disputed that this much water coming out of the ceiling could just be caused by clogs that were re-appearing days after clearing them. I used a different plumber and they immediately recognized that the plumbing system was not properly vented and was disrupting the draining pressure. So far we have not had any incidents after the other plumbing group's work.
I had a leak in my front yard, which made me wonder if my main water line was leaking. I dug up my yard to find the spot and sure enough, it was the main water line that had a substantial leak. I looked on Yelp and found Jack Ward & Sons, so I gave them a call and Andrew was able to come out the next day. Before he came out, I did my research on what the cost was to replace a main water line, which didn't make me very happy. When Andrew came out, he said I had the original galvanized pipe, which was now 50 years old, so a simple patch would not hold; I would need to replace the whole line. He worked with me on the price, which initially made me very happy. They came out the following day (Saturday) to do the work and even though my yard is not the prettiest thing in the neighborhood, I was extremely impressed with the work Andrew and his other guy did. I will DEFINITELY be using them for any future plumbing needs. They even gave me some helpful tips on how I could improve other plumbing aspects of my house, as they were in my crawl space. Needless to say, I will refer them as long as I live in Nashville. Thank you for helping improve the efficiency of my home!!
The receptionist took my call early Friday morning, and I was fortunate enough to have an appointment later that day. Buddy called about an hour out to confirm we would be home, and showed up on time about 3pm. Bad news, but necessary news: We had to have a new boiler (old one was from 2001). Buddy went back to the shop, dealt with the infamous Nashville Friday traffic, got the new boiler and came back to install it. Me, my wife, and our 1.5 month old daughter had to leave by 5pm that day. We trusted Buddy to test his work while we weren't at our home (that trust developed from Buddy's sincere professionalism and considerate personality). We left around 5pm, while later that evening Buddy texted and called to let us know that he was there until 7pm (on a FRIDAY night, mind you) trying to troubleshoot an electrical problem, which he finally found (new breaker). He had to wait till the following morning to get the breaker and finish up the boiler (Sat. was his day off). Buddy texted and called early Sat. morning to confirm, and then came over and finished up the job. I would HIGHLY recommend Jack Ward Pluming. Excellent service and workmanship--worth every penny.
Unfortunately had a pretty bad experience with this company. Initially it started decent. Got a visit for the quote. Guy literally spent 30 seconds looking at the job and gave me a quote. It was more expensive than I anticipated but they said they could do it within the week, so I hired them. Then the actual repairman came back a week later. When he arrived he said "what's the job? No one told me anything". Which is pretty disappointing considering I got a quote. He then said he'd have to run around finding parts because he had "no idea what to expect" when coming. Halfway through the repair he said he was going to "grab lunch" and didn't come back for 2.5 hours. In the end he said the guy who did the quote did a "really bad job" and he charged me an extra 20% above the original quote. Is it my fault that someone from your company messed up? In the end I paid double what a Google search said I should pay for a similar project. It's unclear whether they are trying to rip you off or are just unorganized/bad at their job. Oh and he forgot to turn my water back on. I paid the bill because I'm not going to bicker. I'll just never hire them again.
