Matt did a great job, right on time and let me know when he was on his way. Nice guy, got my drain cleared out and left the area cleaner than when he got there! Definitely recommend Jack Woods Plumbing!

They sent Dusty out to take care of a couple plumbing issues I had. He did a fantastic job and was very efficient time wise. Very happy with the service!

First off, let me state that my Father was a plumber with his own business out on the West Side of Columbus in the Brookshire Addition. My Dad always gave 100%, his work was the very best, and his standards were stellar, as many of his former customers would attest. So, when i see or need plumbing work done, I definitely know what to expect in quality and fair pricing! Today, we had a current waterline leak in the basement repaired; fifty-six-year-old copper plumbing needs tender care and maintenance, you know. Experiencing a couple of pinhole leaks in our water supply, we called upon Jack L. Woods Plumbing Company, Incorporated located in Westerville to take care of the situation. Previously, they expertly installed a new water heater in our basement which has been totally dependable since installation a few years back. Our repairman, Barry, was professional, on time, and did a superb repair to remedy our current situation. In addition, he repositioned a current shut-off valve close to the main shut-off valve, to make certain we have a complete shutdown of water in case of future plumbing needs. I cannot recommend this thirty-five-year-old company enough! They give the very best in service for your plumbing needs!

If you want them to catch your house on fire and turn your life upside down then call them, otherwise stay away from these people. No accountability for what they did either to our lives and 6 months of you know what to get our life back. Negligence was involved with someone you sent that should have had a mentor. Ironically he had a mentor on another job the days following our house fire caused by him. This is the work you get with Jack Woods on a simple spigot repair. They don’t even deserve a 1 star, but at least people in our neighborhood know not to call them again and have made sure of that.

As a long time customer (at least 8 visits over the years), I called Jack L. Woods Plumbing to come look at my water heater which was leaking. My calls on Sunday evening were not returned, despite the message stating recordings were checked every hour. When I called Monday morning, I was told the next available appointment was 12/19. I asked if they had anything sooner. The person on the phone told me he was a repair person and not the scheduler, so he would check. He came back on the phone and said he could come that afternoon. The water heater was under warranty and needed to be replaced. After the service was finished, I was charged 4.5 hours of overtime for what appeared to be 2-3 hours of work on a Monday afternoon. When calling, the owner/manager, Jim, talked over me repeatedly and in a condescending manner. He told me that it was my fault I did not ask if it was overtime. Honestly, who would ask if they were paying overtime on a MONDAY AFTERNOON? His response to this was, you did not ask- and "what else did you expect when we said we could come out that day? Did you think our schedule magically opened up?" Um... no. I don't know what your scheduling books look like, and just because you could now schedule me does not mean to me that it is an OT call. He then tried to tell me I got a "deal" because they accidentally subtracted their retail mark-up off my bill instead of the manufacturer's cost. A difference of about $400. In the end, with Jack Woods, I paid nearly $2K for the replacement of a water heater under warranty and for OT on a Monday afternoon, including overtime for loading and unloading their truck at their office. This OT work began with loading the truck at 2:30 pm and ended about an hour and a half after they left my house to unload the truck. Some might call this gauging. Additionally, I've clearly been a long time customer that Jim was unwilling to work with and work to correct the labor to regular charges vs. OT which is all I asked of him. It's very disappointing and poor customer service, IMO. I will NOT recommend Jack Woods Plumbing. I know this doesn't change the fact that they have great repair folks on staff, but quality customer service from the top is important, and I did not receive that.

To Jack Woods Plumbing: On 8/25/17 the plumber showed up, stated upstairs broken toilet was old. Never have seen a Case toilet before. He indicated best to replace and stated Toto was a good brand, which is what they have at their office. I stated we have Toto downstairs and this Case toilet blows the doors off of the Toto. Wanted it salvaged. Stated he'd try to order parts. I asked if he could just remove the broken off copper pipe piece still threaded in the toilet (threads not visible because the broken pipe was still in the toilet). He said he could likely do that. Asked if he could just take a piece of 1-inch copper pipe and rethread it. He stated the threads on this old toilet is more coarse than today's threads, which wasn't the case (how would he know, he didn't know the toilet and couldn't see the threads). He left stating he'd try to find parts. I then removed the broken off piece of copper pipe, then took a PVC tube I had laying around. Using the threads from the toilet, I threaded the PVC pipe. Works like a champ, no leaking! I did later go to ACE Hardware and bought a universal plastic overflow tube that cost 3.98 and swapped it out, which threaded perfectly. Initially, I wasn't going to swap it out but worried it would be leaking upstair and wouldn't know because I don't often go upstairs. Those at ACE stated the universal tube would fit my toilet after showing them pictures of it. Threads are the same as today's toilet. I called and asked that you not charge me since the plumber didn't even try to resolve my issue, rather seemed like he wanted to sell me a toilet or sell me "special" parts. On 9/13/17, I received a bill for 1/2 the typical minimum labor totally 38.00. For what? To come in and do nothing as indicated above. How can you charge for nothing? I had to wait a week, then to have the plumber come in and do nothing? The plumber said that the threads were not the same as today's threads so he couldn't replace the overflow tube. How would he know if he said he didn't know this brand toilet and the overflow tube was broke off, so the threads were not visible because the broken tube was still inside the toilet. And, he was wrong. He didn't even try. I think it is very unfair to charge me 38.00 for wasting my time to do nothing when he could have fixed the problem if he had just lifted a finger. I think you should do the right thing and waive the fee.

Well, I wish I had read all these reviews before I wasted my money calling this company. I shouldn't taken my friend's word for it that this was a good company. For over a year we hadn't used the shower in the master bathroom because it leaked into the downstairs kitchen. We had access to another shower but finally we decided to bite the bullet and fix the problem once and for all. A plumber from the company came out, couldn't find access to the pipes under the shower so convinced us to allow him to saw a 1 x 1' hole in the soffit in the kitchen to discover where the pipes actually were. He then told us we needed a new assembly- whatever that means. I explained that rather than spend the money on a new assembly, we would prefer to replace the entire shower as well as any plumbing parts required, to prevent further leaking. The guy was in capable of giving us any idea of how much a new shower surround and base would cost. The man left, & I expected to hear back from someone. I thought at the very least they should have given us a written estimate of what the project would cost. Instead, we received a bill a few days later for $100. I called, asked what the charges were for, especially since we now had a gaping hole in the ceiling of our kitchen, and was told that $100.00 was what they were charging us for the service call. After making several more calls to get an explanation for why I was being charged anything, considering that they hadn't fixed anything but had put a hole in the ceiling, I received no more information. What I find perplexing is that I hear people recommending Jack Woods plumbing all the time. Some of the people who recommend them are contractors. This makes me wonder whether Jack Woods is relying on years of accolades about their company. They certainly don't seem to be doing very well now.I feel like if they had had an experienced, well informed plumber visit our house, we might have gotten a quote and decent service. Nobody who works there seems to care about the reputation of this company.

We have used Jack Woods periodically during the 19 years we have lived in our house. Never again. Water spots appeared in my kitchen ceiling, right where the bath tub is upstairs. I called Jack Woods. Two guys came out about an hour or 2 later to look at it. One guy stayed in the truck the whole time, eating, and the other came in. Keep in mind, this was Thursday June 2. We are leaving for vacation June 10th and I've got friends staying at the house to pet sit for the week we are going to be gone. The guy comes in. Looks at the ceiling. Looks at the tub. Does not look at the pipes - there is easy access thru a closet I'd cleared out. Tells me repeatedly the problem is not with a leaky pipe. Regrout the tile and get a new shower door, he says. Then leaves. He was here 10, maybe 15 Minutes max. Fast forward to Tuesday June 6th. My daughter showers and those 2 spots in the ceiling both open up and start dripping into the kitchen. I call Jack Woods. The guy on the phone says no one can come out til next week. Well no, that won't work. We won't be home! I said several times that this was the whole reason why I'd called him on Thursday, to head off any potential problem before we leave on Saturday. He wouldn't say anything other than it wouldn't be til next week. Completely unacceptable. I called another plumbing company who didn't charge extra even tho it was now past 5pm. The leak was fixed. It was in the faucet pipe so every time one of us showered or took a bath, water streamed down into the flooring under the linoleum and into the ceiling. The guy put in new pipes, new fixtuess, grout, shower doors. A contractor is coming when we return from vacation to replace the floor and ceiling. I can't believe the lack of professionalism from Jack Woods. This would have been a nightmare if it happened while friends were here. Or if we weren't home. Do not use this company. The stress - right on top of vacation - is ridiculous.

I had an upstairs shower leaking into the leaving room downstairs. I called Jack L Woods Plumbing to come investigate. When they came over, they asked to cut the ceiling open, I reluctantly accepted. The guy spent two hours working on this, despite me insisting that he looks at the shower faucet, he determined this was not related to any plumbing but the shower structure. He advised me to have someone rebuild the entire shower. He charged me $240 for this. At the time I was quite happy with it as at least I thought I now know what the problem was. in the second thought i decided before going and remodel an entire shower, let's get a second opinion. I called "The Eco Plumbers". They came in and 5 minutes later they found the real issue. It was in fact the cartridge that was leaking inside the wall when turned at a certain angle which explains why sometimes it would leak and some other time it would not. After that I called Jack L Woods Plumbing to just see what they would say. I was hopping for someone to just says "We are sorry for cutting your ceiling open and charging you $240 for that and not getting you the right diagnostics". That is all I wanted to hear. I understand errors can happen but it is important to acknowledge our mistakes and learn from them. Instead Jack L Woods Plumbing told me that the faucet issue started after they left. There was no faucet issues when they were there. I repeated to them what they told me to just make sure they hear themselves. The gentlemen responded what I heard is correct. The faucet issue happened afterwards. It is sad because the guy that came over was quite likable. I was thinking of him my go to plumber for some condos we just purchased. Advise for you, to run a successful business, you should look at the long term relationships and not just a quick $240. you may make it today but lost many more in the future.

After discovering water leaking onto our living room floor, I emailed ten friends asking for a plumber recommendation. The three friends that replied, independently, recommended Jack L. Woods Plumbing, and so I called them. I now heartily recommend Jack L. Woods Plumbing to anyone needing a plumbing repair. Jack L. Woods Plumbing first sent out Barry (who arrived a day early) to look over the situation. He quickly diagnosed the problem; an old cast-iron waste pipe running from the second floor through a plumbing chase in our living room was leaking. He then looked beyond the obvious leak and found another section about to fail as well. I'm glad he was this thorough, as I wanted the problem fixed completely the first time. How many times do you want to open up a wall and then patch it? Once! When Dave and Drew arrived, already having all of the parts they needed, they walked into a situation that was far from ideal. The tight quarters they needed to work within was, to say the least, severely limiting. They quickly devised a plan and set to work on the old house (built in the late eighteen hundreds). Dave and Drew did an incredible job of replacing the cast-iron pipes. They also took great care not to damage the ceiling, leaving only the wall to be patched. They worked efficiently and completed the onerous task in short order. Plus, they were very pleasant and cleaned up quickly. There is absolutely nothing they could have done better. During my thirty-five years of owning houses and calling on the various trades to make repairs, Jack L. Woods Plumbing is by far the best I've hired!

Avoid at all costs! This is actually my first negative review, so I don't make a habit of this. But, my experience with Jack L Woods was so horrible, I really do feel like I need to warn people. I am also posting this in my neighborhood Facebook group so that I can hopefully save someone the same trouble we have experienced. The plumbing was OK, but they actually completely damaged both new tub/showers I had done one week prior. I was very, very clear with the plumber that both tubs were new and needed a bit of babying. However, he put a huge gouge in one tub bottom and dripped molten metal (which, of course, adhered permanently) on the bottom of the other shower. The worst part is that when I called to talk to them about the damage, they were completely unresponsive. I have pictures of the damage that I sent to the (great!) folks who installed the bathtub/shower - and he said it looks like unbelievable carelessness. Simply putting a soft cloth down would have prevented both issues. Jack L Woods does not return phone calls when they say they will and is not doing anything about this damage. We need to get it repaired right away since there is a gouge out of the tub and I do not want water gathering there. Yet, it's been a week and they will still not get back with us about how it will be addressed. So, if you do use Jack L Woods do not be surprised if they are careless with your property, damage it, then refuse to take responsibility and have it corrected. I can honestly say I've never experienced such awful service in my life. Please - buyer beware!!

Unprofessional, untimely, rude - not the Jack L Woods of years ago. This was who my family/friends had always used for 30+ years (I grew up in Westerville), but will not be any longer. I called to get my hot water heater replaced on a Tuesday - they couldn't work me in to do it until the following Monday. Not a problem, reasonable because it wasn't an emergency yet. They came out that Monday to take pictures and said they would follow up with a quote but did give me a ballpark estimate. The plumber who came out said he didn't know how far out they would be looking to schedule the repair and recommended calling their schedule to find out - again, completely reasonable. I called within a few minutes of him leaving and they were already pushed into the next week (2 weeks after my original call). I spoke with Larry, who was extremely rude and literally laughed at me on the phone. We went around in circles with him being so rude and condescending; I finally left it with him that we would wait for the quote to schedule anything. Here's the kicker - I then never received a quote (writing this 9 days later)! Absolutely no follow through. They don't need your business and don't seem to care. I went with Water Heaters Plus out of Worthington and couldn't be happier - cheaper, more professional, and were able to do same day install. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Received service from Jack Woods Plumbing to get both outdoor spouts fixed for our hoses. The service agent arrived 30 mins late because he said his knee was acting up so he came into work late, which I understand since she was an older gentleman but it was still bothersome. When he got to the house he stated that he did not feel comfortable working on one of the spouts because he did not think he could complete the job because there was a small area to work with and it would be hard. I accepted this because it is in a cramped spot, but it still took him 20 mins or so taking a look at it to see of he could make it work, all.of this time I was paying him for "labor"z The other spout he fixed in about 5 mins as and we came to find yesterday that his "fix" now leaks behind the drywall in my basement when the spout it turned on. I spoke to a manager about my transgressions about the service and they said they would as refund part of the labor due to the service agent arriving late and not being able to complete the full job requested. This work was done months ago and I have not seen a check or credit from the company. So this was a complete bust on their side. Tl;dr? You should go elsewhere for your service unless you want service that won't last more than a few months.

My 80 year old grandmother called this company upon the recommendation of a neighbor. Despite their being a ONE WEEK wait, she continued with the company even though she was without hot water this entire time. She ended up going to the hospital during that week wait, and her neighbors met with the plumber. He made one small fix, which ended up not working by the time he walked out the door, ultimately resulting in the hot water heater needing replaced. The company never once asked my grandmother for her approval or gave her a quote, nor did they attempt to contact any family, they strictly took the word of a neighbor to put in this appliance. The neighbor had told us she had hers replaced recently, and it cost her approximately $500. Jack L Woods company decided to install an $875 water heater (gas and only 40lbs) and charged over $300 in labor, with "supposed" extra time needed for "extra" parts. They also charged for the initial "fix" which did nothing to help at all. When confronted about these discrepancies in the bill, the person on the phone was unwilling to make any adjustments, or compensation. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They take advantage of elderly women in hospitals, and do anything to make a quick extra buck at the expense of the vulnerable!

I scheduled service for four issues: 1. I needed a new drain line to be installed for my dishwasher, to drain waste water down into the basement and hook into the existing sink drain. I explained that my dishwasher's drain pump was not strong enough to pump the water up and over to the garbage disposal. I explained the situation and the need VERY clearly, and said this was my number one need. 2. I had a constant drip on my shower/tub and could not reach the compression rings (or whatever you call them) that needed to be replaced. 3. I wanted to swap out a toilet, and 4. I wanted them to check out a leaking hood vent on my water heater. The plumber showed up at the very end of the 4-hour window (of course!) and said: "I understand you have a clogged sink?". Naturally, he had neither the time NOR the parts needed to work on the dishwasher, and I gave up on the toilet. He was very nice and apologetic (he wasn't the issue) and did fix the shower. He offered to have his service manager call me to reschedule, and that they might be able to come out next week... when I am supposed to be in California. Did I mention I wasted a vacation day for this?
