Work was decent but i did not appreciate the attitude. There was a minute delay in us being available when they arrived and they mentioned they would have left. After the work was done, claimed need to check water and pasted their sticker on it which was necessary

Called twice on a Friday evening, about 45 minutes apart. Each time, I was told that someone would contact me (on the first call, I was told that I'd be contacted within 15 minutes). I was never contacted. Called back about 1.5 hours after my first call to cancel.

Called this company a few weeks ago to check out 2 slow drains (sink and a bathtub) and a leaking faucet. Although I received a lot of quotes I went with J&K due to their 5-star ratings but my experience was less than satisfactory. First off, their quote was $550 ($150 per slow drain and $250 to replace the faucet handle) Seemed pricey but whatever. Joe came out to fix everything and I left him to it as I was working from home and in a bunch of virtual meetings. Note: We had used another plumber a few years ago to fix our drains and they removed 2 large garbage bags full of hair. It was disgusting but unclogged our drains. So, that was my mental model of what I was expecting to happen again for this situation. My first break I went to check on Joe and he said that he had unclogged the first sink drain. I asked him if he needed a garbage bag for whatever was causing the blockage and he said 'no' and that he had already flushed the hair/debris down the toilet. What?!!? Ok, whatever again. Maybe that sink just had less waste? Anyways, I went back to work as he got started on the bathtub drain. I felt sure that this would be the one with a ton of hair build-up. Well, when I went back upstairs again he said that he was done with fixing the bathtub drain but there was no hair removed. WHAT??!!! Zero buildup when I had expected bags of garbage. He stated that our last plumber had broken our drain and there was a metal piece stuck down the pipe. Ok, that's a problem. I asked for a quote to remove that broken piece inside our pipes and he said it would be 'expensive'. I pressed more and he quoted $2k. Yeesh. Okay... but I'm already shelling out over $500 so might as well get it fixed instead of becoming a recurring problem, right? So I said, " let's do it and get it fixed!" but he stuttered his way around saying that it wasn't worth it and talked his way out of no further repairs even though I was willing to pay. Okay, I had to again go back to work so he moved on to the leaky faucet. He replaced the part and, good news, is that it no longer was dripping. Bad news is that the new handle was so loose that if you turned it either way it would automatically drop further down. So annoying! When I mentioned it to him there were just more excuses that 'it would get better in time' or 'that's normal' or more blame on our last plumber. Ugh, I was already feeling frustrated with the entire experience so just wanted it to be over -- I mean $550 for cleared drains (albeit one with a broken metal piece stuck in the pipes) and a new (but not fully functional) faucet handle. In the end he knocked off $100 because I'm sure he could sense that I was feeling dissatisfied but it definitely wasn't the exceptional 5-stars experience I had expected. *sad face* I wasn't planning to write this review since technically everything was repaired that day but, guess what... the drains are starting to slow again (less than 3 months later) AND I just found the missing metal stopper on the top of our shower that he had claimed was broken in the pipe. Will definitely be contacting a different vendor next time around.

We hired them to replace our kitchen faucet and purchased the new faucet directly from them. The installation itself looked clean and professional. Unfortunately, what happened after made the experience really frustrating--especially given this was a fairly expensive job. The day after installation, we noticed the water flow from the new faucet was significantly lower than our old faucet, while other faucets in the house were normal. We called them back for a recheck. They did a quick inspection and repeatedly insisted nothing was wrong, blaming it on "city water" / "California flow restrictors," and said there was nothing they could do. They also suggested that if we didn't like the faucet, we could buy a different one and pay them to install it again. It felt like they were more focused on avoiding blame than actually diagnosing the issue. Here's the part that doesn't sit right: after their recheck, we performed a simple, standard 1-gallon bucket test (something any plumber could do in minutes) and it showed the faucet was only producing about 0.8 GPM, far below the faucet's rated 1.5 GPM. That clearly indicates a problem--either a defective/incorrect flow-control part or an internal restriction--not "city water." Because we couldn't get real troubleshooting help, we had to spend days researching online, taking things apart ourselves, and running tests. We eventually found the issue and fixed it by replacing the flow-control/restrictor component. The faucet now performs as intended. To be fair: their physical installation work looked fine. But the follow-up service and troubleshooting were not. If you hire them, be aware that if something isn't working correctly afterward, you may have to push hard for proper diagnostics rather than being told it's "just how it is."

Our old water heater busted late one evening, so the next day around 8:00am we submitted a request for quote on Yelp. J&K responded about 20 minutes later, and said they could come out between 10:00am - 12:00pm. Joe and his associate arrived at about 9:40am. We knew that we would need a new water heater, but the shutoff valve and some piping also needed replacing. J&K only have Bradford White water heaters. In fact, they showed up in a Bradford White truck. However, if you prefer a different water heater, you can purchase that yourself and J&K will install it for you. We decided to go with the Bradford White, and his associate immediately left to pick up a new water heater while Joe started dismantling our old one. By 11:00am, our new water heater was installed with new piping and new shutoff valve. Joe showed us how to shutdown the water heater, and how to maintain it annually. Although J&K's quote was slightly higher than some of the other quotes we got on Yelp, it was worth it to have the problem solved in such a short amount of time by a local business. And to be fair, the quotes we got from Yelp did not include the new piping and shutoff valve. J&K were very efficient, and did a great job. Glad we went with them.

Our water heater decided to call it quits by springing a huge leak and gushing water all over the garage. So, I spent the evening searching on Yelp and found a number of highly-rated plumbers with water heater experience. I sent each of them a message on Yelp to get the process started. J&K plumbing responded quickly that evening, asked for a picture of the water heater, and came out first thing in the morning to check things out. Turns out the water heater was well past it's useful life expectancy - it was 28 years old and needed to be replaced. They gave me a quote, and I said I would let them know after getting quotes from other plumbers. After comparing quotes, J&K had the best price - I called them at noon and said I would go with their business. They went to pick up the new water heater and were back at my house at 2:30pm. They installed the new water heater, along with the necessary items to bring everything up to new code - flexible supply lines, new gas line, and drip pan. Everything was done by 4pm. So within 24 hours of discovering the leak, I was able to get multiple quotes on Yelp, pick the best option, and have it all installed and ready to go. Not bad!

I had a semi-urgent issue with my washing machine hookups in a cramped laundry closet, and reached out to J&K on a Saturday for an estimate, not expecting a response until Monday at the earliest. To my surprise, they responded immediately, and after texting them a couple pictures of the issue, they understood exactly what my problem was. They said they could come out the next day at 9 AM to take a closer look and hopefully solve my issue. Their initial quote over the phone was $900 (or more, depending on if they would need to cut into the wall and refit pipes to install a recessed hookup), but upon arriving and inspecting the old fixtures up close, recommended a much cheaper, faster, and more suitable solution for $550 instead! They were in and out in under an hour, turning what seemed like a plumbing nightmare into a pleasant daydream. I would not hesitate to work with them again for any future plumbing projects I have, big or small.

Joe was able to diagnose the problem in our water heater with immediate inspection. Originally, he gave an estimate on the phone of $1,800- $2,000, but when the water heater was beyond repair due to no hot water coming out, we ended up paying $2,100 for the brand-new heater, pipe replacement, and one-man labor. It's better than paying $3,000 or more for a two-man job. It took him less than an hour to install a new one and double-check the water heater. He even went to check the kitchen sink and the water hose in the front lawn to test the waters after shutting it down to make sure everything was cleared up before leaving. Overall Joe was fast with the preparation, detailed by double-checking everything, and informative with his ETA, price, and inspection. He doesn't accept debit/credit cards upon payment, so it's best to write a check to J&K Plumbing, Zelle, or Venmo.

Whenever I need a service person, I feel so vulnerable. I know that I absolutely need their service, but I know I am at their mercy when it comes to diagnostics, what's needed & price. I'd called J&K last year when my bathroom sink was plugged. They were prompt, efficient & worked quickly. I don't remember how much I paid, but I know I felt it was reasonable. This time it was for my hot water heater. It seemed sudden that it my water just stopped getting hot. We really needed hot water! The men came at the time that they said they would. It took two men because I live upstairs. For the inconvenience of lugging heavy appliances or furniture up my stairs, I generally pay dearly & this was no exception. The men were efficient & timely. They secured my new water heater properly & made sure I had hot water before they left. I was charged handsomely for labor & stairs.

Joe of JK Plumbing was responsive to my inquiry for urgent repair of a leaky kitchen sink faucet, and gave a fair quote. I explained, my parents are immunocompromised, and would he agree to wear a mask, gloves, and take off shoes before entering, should I hire him. Joe reassured me this is their policy now, no problem and then we arranged for him to come out at noon to replace my parent's leaky kitchen faucet. He showed up as agreed and fixed the leaky faucet with a quality lifetime warranty product. He mentioned to us the pipes under the sink have corrosion, and will likely need replacement later. Just call him whenever we are ready. No pushy upsell when not necessary, reasonable, showed up, and completed the job so my parents could use the sink again.

I live in San Mateo city and I was about to put my house on the market to find out that the city of San Mateo requires now sewer lateral inspection done by licensed Plumber. So I called the first company that popped out on Google. They came and did the sewer lateral inspection in the inspection, they found out that I have roots drawing in my sewer lateral from the house line right before the city connection. The same company gave me estimate to repair the issue, but the cost was very high. I called two other plumbers and one of them was J&k plumbing service they came out did the camera inspection for free and gave me the best deal and solution for my situation which was a sewer spot repair that cost me a fraction from what the other companies quoted me

Contacted J & K plumbing since the water valve under my toilet was leaking. I had installed a new electric toilet seat bidet and when I turned the water valve on again it started leaking. It was just too old and needed to be replaced. They came within a couple of hours and replaced the valve and corrected my bidet water connections as well. I also asked him to look at our washing machine drain gutter since the water was overflowing when the machines would drain water. He checked and looked at it and figured out that the drain hose just needed to be pushed into the gutter more. He pushed it in and no more overflowing water. He charged nothing for this. They are honest and charge a fair price that is all you can ask for. Thumbs up to J & K Plumbing.
