Jeff and Norma were fantastic! Some other reviewers mentioned that they come later than scheduled times. That's because they take the time and effort to ensure that each client's problems are completely handled before leaving. Rest assured that when they show up, they will get everything done and ensure your plumbing needs are all settled, just like what they were doing for the previous client. Jeff and Norma came to my place to fix my rusted bathroom sink. My new sink was too big but they were able to drill my countertop to make room for it. In addition to installing a new sink, faucet, supply lines, and angle valves, they also fixed the leaking nipples inside my wall. Jeff also checked up on leaking hoses and another leaking bathroom faucet, even though my appointment was just for my first bathroom sink. Jeff and Norma are a great duo who do a great job while charging fair prices. I will only be calling J Carrillo Plumbing and Drains moving forward.
Jeff and Norma are honest and dependable on their business. They will work on their best! They had repair plumbing in my house and I trusted them completely! Ana G
Great quality plumbing done day and night. Incredibly nice and hard-working people. They're family-owned and get along well with customers. Definitely worth the cost! 🤗💕
Setup an appointment and they never showed up. Called them and they had no record of an appointment. I have the whole conversation over yelp yet they had no record. When I spoke to the owner he confirmed that the person over yelp I spoke with was his account. Such a waste of time I turned down others since J Carrillo responded seconds first. If you can't follow through than you really shouldn't be trying to get business over yelp and waste people's time.
NOT PROFESSIONAL AND NOT RELIABLE! He will give you cheap cost for the job but will not show up to do the job. So, you will be loosing money waiting for him + opportunity to hire someone else who is more reliable. See photo for the facts on how bad this guys is and not having courtesy to respond! He must have faked his account to get these many reviews. Don't trust or rely on him!
Responds very quickly to emails about a potential job/new client, however, is not on time to appointments. Explanation of experiences with this business. For bottom line, skip ahead to the end: Job Quote: Tuesday: Was suppose to be here at 4:00pm, Arrived at 4:15, with no apology for the delay. Suppose to start the job at 2:00pm, Wednesday, the following day. He called around 12 to notify that he would now not be available that day- truck needed repair. We understood that, and told him to take care of that. He told us he could complete the job the following day. Unfortunately, we had already moved all of our commitments that were suppose to be done this day, to the following day, so now there's a schedule conflict. Suppose to start the job the next day, Thursday. We moved our schedules around specifically to meet the new start time, and date. Stated he would arrive between 8:00-8:30am, and would complete the job by 5pm. At 9:30am, I texted him inquiring where he was. No response until 9:52, when he stated he would be here within 5min. That didn't happen either. Finally arrived at 10:15am and completed the job at 10:00pm! Because of the delay, we missed our holiday Christmas Party, which we would have made, had he gotten the job completed by the estimated time frame, 5:30pm. Also, because he was 2 hours late that morning, I could have gone to my doctor appointment at 9 am. Again, he did not apologize for being late that morning. Most of the reviews reflect happy customers, and positive experiences, however, that is not what we never received. The lack of communication, untimeliness, and lack of professionalism is VERY disappointing. The work done, however, exceeds expectations! I can overlook untimeliness, so long as there is communication, which leads to professionalism- it's not a deal breaker, just communicate with me so I can plan around it. Overall, the job was completed in one day, and done to our satisfaction. Jeff and Norma are very personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. We really appreciate all of the explanations. I felt bad seeing their kids left in the truck all day long, but my house isn't kid friendly to invite them inside. Maybe a babysitter would be best? I'm sure Jeff and Norma know what's best for them though. For job explanation, we had them install a Tankless hot water heater in an existing location. The storage tank had already been removed, and almost all of the materials had already been purchased for the tankless, including the Permit. Their only job was to install the Tankless and run a new gas line to the unit. It took them 12 hours to complete these two tasks. Update: We have hired Jeff and Norma for other jobs at our residence, and the same things I mentioned above took place. What I will say is that they are really willing to get the job done in one day once they are here. They are extremely knowledgeable in this trade, and I've passed along their contact information to several friends.
Please ignore the one negative review that I've seen so far. I started to replace my kitchen sink faucet on a Friday afternoon, and I got stuck because I didn't have a basin wrench and couldn't remove the old one. The first plumber from East Palo Alto never showed up on Saturday, both in the morning and when we rescheduled in the late afternoon. It was difficult to find others to come on the weekend, except Roto Rooter, who refused to give any type of estimate and seemed expensive. There were a couple of highly rated plumbers in the Peninsula but they wanted to charge $275-300. Then I hit the lottery in calling J Carrillo. He was coming from Hayward and quoted me $135, readily available, super flexible, and could come right away the next morning. My test for a good repair person is how much they seem to enjoy what they do and how willing they are to help you figure it out yourself. Jeff has off the chart marks on both. I have also had a couple toilets that have had minor issues that I never felt like paying $100 just to have a guy"check it out". One regurgitates in the morning when you flush, and the other has a pump that gets stuck. Jeff mentioned a part that I could get that would help, but I asked him to help pick it up for me instead when he came out. When he came out, Jeff was so helpful. He ended up fixing both of those toilets for free very quickly, replacing the kitchen sink faucet as advertised, and doing his standard 30 point inspection to see where you may have issues down the road. I have also had a dishwasher that floods water on to my countertop. He decided to look into why it wasn't working. He found the clog and fixed it, but it still wasn't working, so he looked for more clogs and found it in the large plastic hosing. He spend an extra 45 minutes to an hour fixing my dishwasher, and didn't charge me for it! What a Godsend! Lastly, I had him look at some of the work I had done recently in installing carbon monoxide detectors and ballasts for fluorescent lighting and he went out of his way, spending another 30-45 minutes to give me some helpful advice. All of this $135. EASILY THE BEST REPAIR PERSON I'VE EVER WORKED BY FAR. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. UNBELIEVABLE PRICING, SUPER HELPFUL, AND WANTS TO TEACH YOU WHAT'S GOING ON. GREAT WORK TOO. NOT A CLOCK WATCHER, SPENDS EXTRA TIME TO DO THINGS THE RIGHT WAY WITHOUT CHARGING YOU FOR IT. He's coming again right away. I figure I might as well have him fix a few other things related to plumbing, given that he is too good to be true!
Don't even bother with other plumbers. Jeff is the best Plumber in the Bay Area. He deserves more than 5 stars. I have had many many experiences with plumbers and they can be very expensive. Not the case with Jeff. He gives you very reasonable prices for the job. Every other plumber charges much more. I am so glad I found Jeff, he is my new plumber for life. Try him, he will end being your plumber for life as well. I had a major plumbing issue late one night. None of my drains would drain, none of my toilets would flush, my lowest basement sink was overflowing and flooding the floor. This all happened at 10:30 at night. I called Jeff and told him what was going on and he said he would be there in 30 minutes. Sure enough he showed up 30 minutes later and he was able to open a side cap and let the water drain out of there temperately, so that way I could use the toilets and sinks and showers overnight and the next morning. He told me what was wrong, gave me a quote and all the recommendations in order to fix the problem. He did tell me that he would break out his flood lights and complete the job right then, even though he said it was a 5-6 hour job if I wanted. This just shows how dedicated he is to satisfying his customers. Since he already gave me a temporary fix. I told him its OK, you can come back during daylight hours to do the job. I was very happy with the price he gave me and the work he completed. He and his wife are great people who both work hard on the job. I am so glad I found a good plumber, I have him saved in my phone now. Going forward any plumbing problems I or anyone I know has I will recommend J Carrillo Plumbing and Drains. PS. For the two people who gave low ratings, they are just ridicules. Steve K. from San Lorenzo got a partial refund which was more than he wanted, and the guy is getting fired over the issue, yet Steve still wants to change his rating from 3 stars to 1? What more did he expect. Jeesh people these days have to try and ruin it for everyone else. Helen O. out of Pasadena, Ca. I don't know what you are talking about, but he came to my place and gave me a quote for free. Maybe its because you live in Egypt where know one is.
Jeff, the owner of J Carrillo Plumbing, runs a very honest and fair family owned business that you can trust to get the job done right. I highly recommend his service! He and wife, who is also a licensed plumber, quickly and efficiently replaced a broken 30yr old residential main water valve and regulator. Initially we exchanged text messages about the repair. Jeff typically responded within 15 mins, and surprisingly even at very late night hours. Unlike another plumber I worked with in the past, Jeff was prompt on the scheduled hour, bring his entire mobile "office" equipment truck and trailer. Though the initial replacement regulator had a plastic part contrary to what was originally requested to have all copper replacement parts, Jeff called his supplier who informed him it would cost $100 more for the better part. After he returned with the new part, he reviewed the text message with the agreed upon charges, and informed me his father taught him to always keep his word. Jeff indeed lived up to his father's teaching and absorbed the difference, charging the originally agreed service fee. How often do you experience that type of honorable service when there are changes?! After the work was done, Jeff also tried to measure the house water pressure, but due to more old, leaking spigot parts, a correct measurement could not be obtained. Jeff then took the time to explain in detail how I could simply replace the old spigots myself and showed what was the correct way to unscrew them using two wrenches to avoid breaking a PVC pipe, something I would not have expected to happen if using a single wrench. That's why you hire the professionals - they have more expertise than you and minimize your head-aches!
Have had Jeff to my place twice. Wonderful experience both times. Jeff is reliable, experienced, and timely with his estimates and work. First visit - For my water heater, had a new b-vent installed and air vents cut cut and installed into our door. Along the way, offered me advice on how to annually maintain my water heater and do some DIY care for my overflow pan. On the way out, I asked him to look at a leaky outlet behind my fridge, and he knew exactly what was wrong. Replaced the spigot in less than 5 minutes with a different style of spigot that wouldn't leak in a while. Second visit - came out to check out a leaking toilet tank mount. I had already fixed up the leak, and wanted him to take a look at the floor to make sure it wasn't rotted through. He took 3 minutes to press around the ground and knew exactly that the ground wasn't rotted through, and didn't need replacing. BUT, he still gave me step by step advice on how to rip out and replace my linoleum and siding if I wanted to replace it. Along the way, he noticed that my tank wasn't bolted on level, and gave me DIY advice on what to do to level the tank, to prevent future mounting leaks. Then walked into my other bathroom to check out my other tank. Also not level. All of this without a service call fee! Jeff is my go to guy from now on, glad to have found a truth worthy and service oriented plumber!
First I have to say this guy is awesome! Family run and family owned business that stands by what they say. We had a shower problem last minute on a Sunday night, broke the faucet and no water coming out!!! Dun.... Dun.... Dun...... Fun begins! I have a family of 5 mainly kids who all play sports and had games that day. School in morning and only one bathroom! I try to watch you tube videos on how to fix it no luck just a lot of mess. So after I face the fact I'm not a plumber I yelped plumbers and found a few but this was the only one who answered directly. He told me no problem he be there by 8p this was around 615p No doubt 8 rolls around he came walking up the street because he had to park down the street due to no parking, he came in assesses the problem went to work as he explained what the problem was and making small talk about kids and family. Fixed it plus checked out couple other issues we had within the hour. He had us all back with shower working great. I highly recommend this company it is a family ran business husband and wife who are dedicated to their business and family. Good people and very comfortable with using them and referring them to everyone we know!
J. Carrillo made our toilet installation process as seamless and headache free as possible. Our toilets were in dire need of changing out, as they hadn't been replaced since the home we're living in was first built in the 1970's. I made calls around the Hayward/Union City/Fremont area, and Jeff gave me the BEST quote out of everyone I had spoken to. I was given an all-inclusive quote for the replacement toilets, installation, and disposal, and was very thorough both over the phone and in person while describing what he was going to do. Jeff is very professional, taking extra care to explain any problems he may have encountered outside of the plumbing realm. For instance, had it not been for Jeff, we wouldn't have known that the installation of another toilet before had put our bathroom tiles at a downward slope and now requires the tiling to be redone during a future renovation. Jeff had the job done in a mere 45 minutes! I value honesty and professionalism, and Jeff gave me a good price on his services.. whereas I felt like I was getting gypped by other plumbers, I know I was charged a fair price with J Carrillo.
Husband and wife team. The only reason I'm giving a three is because they were very nice and fixed the issue, but I would not trust them if you plan on doing anything else that day. They were 4 hours late and not communicative until I asked where they were. They were supposed to be at my house at 4, I had to reach out to them at 4:30, didn't get a response till 5:30 saying that'll be another hour, didn't show up till 8pm. By that time, I was panicking while trying to find a new plumber to come in the next day because I couldn't trust they would show up. They didn't offer any sort of recompense for being so late. Also it wasn't clear they would replace my chrome sink trap with plastic and take the old one away. I should have said something, but at that point (almost 9:30pm) l just wanted them out. If only they showed up on time. I dislike that I'm giving a small, local business such a bad rating, but it was such poor customer service. However they seemed like decent, capable plumbers.

Our kitchen sink (garbage disposal side) was plugged and would not drain, we searched and called all around looking for a decent estimate... We even called Roto Rooter. Roto Rooter quoted us over $250 for the first 75 minutes of work, and even tried to make it sound like a deal with adding the notion that the price included drive time, and the job doesn't start till the technician(s) arrive. Um DUH shouldn't all the jobs start once they arrive, and unless they are flying plumbers in from NY I would hope that I was not charged for any drive time to a paying job. Anyway, we found J Carrillo on yelp and read their reviews, explained problem, asked for a quote, and he was VERY reasonably priced considering the job. He arrived same day within 10-15 minutes with his partner (wife or sister, I assume) of the call and was able to fix out problem within 30 minutes. I will use this business again should I ever need a pipe cleaned, unplugged!
