I had some expensive repairs done on a very old heat pump. Ray F. was great. He explained everything in great detail. He answered all my questions, and helped me understand what my options were. No one wants to spend a lot of money, but when you trust the person who is doing the work, it means everything. It needed parts and everyone knew that I needed to get my heat pump running and were very helpful. So thanks very much!!!
Mr. Tyrone was absolutely great! He came out and installed our new water heater efficiently and professionally. He took the time to explain everything clearly and even shared additional tips and features we didn’t know about but truly needed. His knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile made the entire experience stress-free. We are very happy with the service and will definitely ask for Mr. Tyrone again for any future plumbing needs. Highly recommended!
This is the 2nd or 3rd time that Chris Hyman has come out to fix plumbing and HVAC issues for us . This time Matt Dimock came along and they are both FANTASTIC! Both Chris and Matt were extremely professionally, courteous, knowledgeable and well informed regarding their profession and the issues we were having. They were patient and took their time to get to the root of the issue which was a back up in our toilet. Not only did they check and test everything, they fixed the issue and cleaned up and I appreciate them very much. If you ever NEED ANYTHING FIXED ; PLUMBING, HVAC, ELECTRICAL and so on. ASK FOR CHRIS HYMAN & MATT DIMOCK , they got u COVERED!! Photo below (floor was covered with debris from leak ! ) and they cleaned and sanitized !
In 2017, I bought a replacement HVAC system for a two-zone house. The installers did a fantastic job, but the price was over $33,000! I was told by friends that Horizon was worth it. I should have shopped around. Yesterday they came out to do regular maintenance as part of my on-going maintenance agreement. I have their Comfort360 plan which covers all systems in my house (or so I thought). Come to find out at the maintenance visit yesterday that it only covers one system. I was not told that when I signed up. On top of that, they charged me $108 for the outside condenser unit and another $108 for the inside air handler. Again, none of this was explained when I purchased the maintenance plan and that price is way beyond what competitors charge. Finally, during my maintenance visit the technician found a leak in one of the air handler exhaust pipes. For some reason, they had no record of my 10-year parts and labor warranty. I had to find it myself to prove it to the technician. Shouldn't Horizon (or Level, whoever?) have records of my warranty? Seems convenient that they didn't (for them). Good thing I maintained the records.
1-2 stars. The service man was very nice and did find a small crack in the heat exchanger. However, he also told us several things "wrong" with our installed unit that were disproved by the company who put it in and quoted us thousands of dollars for work the original company was able to do at a much more reasonable cost. He even went so far to suggest the best option was to buy a new system from them for 19k -- our system is 6 yrs old. Also, EXTREMELY difficult to get in touch with anyone at the company; I got transferred to 7 different people before I was hung up on and that happened twice. Then it was MY responsibility to keep calling to see if our request to cancel 1 year service plan with refund was approved -- I was told communication was only internal to the company and I'd just have to check and see. We were able to get a refund but overall a very frustrating experience over several days' time
Make sure you get a second opinion. Had a problem with my heat pump during this late January polar vortex. Called Horizon Tuesday morning and had a tech out early afternoon. He diagnosed a faulty emergency heat unit. Quoted between $1800-$2000 to repair it. Also it would take five days to get the replacement part. He said my 12 year old unit may not be worth repairing at that price as it was possibly near the end of its expected life. I set up an appointment that afternoon to get a quote for a replacement which he said could likely be installed the next day. I was quoted a economy replacement around $13,000 or the recommended replacement at $20,000. Both prices seemed much more than I expected. So despite what seemed like a hard pressure sell I said I'd have to think it over and look at options. I contacted another company and told him what I was told. They quoted me $850 to repair the unit and could have the part Thursday. Also said a complete replacement would run about $8500 if I wanted to go that route. I had them order the part and come out the next day. They came out took five minutes to verify the issue. Turns out the problem was the wire at the thermostat was not connected and the emergency heat unit was fine. Fifteen minutes later the heat was running and they even changed the filter. So if diagnosed properly we could have heat on Tuesday instead of Thursday. I don't know if it was an honest misdiagnoses or dishonest to try to sell expensive repairs or replacement but I could have made a $20,000 mistake over a simple inexpensive repair. Either way thier pricing seems out of wack. Update..I was contacted by Horizon they said they would refund the $89 diagnosis fee on my card within a few days. It's been a month. I called two weeks ago and was told they mailed a check for some reason. Called yesterday and was told they were still working on it. So they lied the first two times. Someone was to call me back yesterday but they did not. I guess I'll never get that money back
I recently had Horizon come out for some routine maintenance on my HVAC system, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The technician was not only polite and professional, but he also arrived ahead of the scheduled window, which I really appreciated since it was a Saturday. He was considerate enough to wait until just before our agreed-upon time to ring the doorbell, which was a thoughtful touch. He respected my home by wearing booties inside and was very mindful that I'm turning my house into a plant haven. He navigated around my plants without issue and did his work efficiently. We had a good chat about potential upgrades down the line, and I really valued that he didn't push any hard sales. We acknowledged that I have a warranty that covers my system, so he gave me honest advice on how the warranty applies to the upgrades discussed. I do want to note one small administrative hiccup. While the technician on-site was fantastic, I received a couple of follow-up text messages on Monday suggesting I schedule immediate service to fix my down system. The service tech confirmed on Saturday that my system was working fine during the appointment. I am not sure what game is being played or if there disconnect between their field service notes and the administrative follow-up system, but it should be addressed. Additionally, I've asked a couple of times to have my ex's name removed from my account, and I noticed as I signed off on the invoice that hasn't been updated yet. These are things I will consider if I schedule with Horizon in the future. Overall, the hands-on service was good (at a much higher cost now), but I'd love to see more alignment on the administrative side to make the entire experience seamless.
We’ve used Horizon for HVAC maintenance for about a year. We contacted them for a quote to upgrade our system after being told they had installation availability the following week. Shortly after the initial walkthrough, our unit failed during the coldest week of the year. Given the urgency, we asked them to return to take final measurements and provide a quote. They came out that Friday and assured us we would receive the quote that same day due to the circumstances. By Monday, we had not received anything, so we followed up and were again told it would arrive by the end of the day. It did not. We were then asked whether the installation could wait until spring. We explained that we preferred not to delay, as temperatures were in the single digits and we have a baby at home. We were told they would send the quote and work to fit us into the schedule. Two weeks later, we still had not received a quote. When we followed up again, we were told they assumed we had “written them off because of the install timeline.” Overall, the communication was poor and there was no sense of urgency despite the circumstances. We were very disappointed with the experience. Ultimately, we chose another contractor and canceled our maintenance plan.
I cannot share enough of my appreciation for the outstanding support Randy provided to us this afternoon. He was assigned to do a Gas furnace and maintenance review but encountered prior service that needed to be resolved in addition to his original assignment. It was a long afternoon but well worth it. I have total confidence that the work was done properly this time. Very disappointed that the errors were not detected after the last tech service. Do you ever do spot inspections by supervisors to confirm work (particularly that of newer techs when they felt the need to order parts and return for a 2nd visit)? I know techs who are experienced do not need to have a follow up. But the result of of what Randy discovered today with settings not being set properly is something makes a customer question the quality of your technicians who are more Junior. Bottom line, I hope it is Randy that continues to be assigned to us in Forest Hill in the future.
I've been using Horizon for a few years now. They changed out both my A/C and my Furnace. They always call the night before they are coming and I get a text with a photo of who is coming the day of the appointment. They are always on time and friendly and wear the little booties on their shoes so they don't track in mud and dirt. I found that all the techs are knowledgeable and get the job done quick and right the first time. The technician John was the last one to come out to do my regular maintenance and he was so friendly and kind. I have used other vendors in the past and their annual maintenance plans are extremely expensive. It's around 250 for the year for Horizon. I've paid almost double that for another vendor and they don't have the 24 hour service that Horizon does. I've never used them for plumbing or electrical work only for HVAC but have always had a great experience with the service for that.
Good evening my alarm on my sump pump was sounding off and on for a coupon of days I called Level on Friday night Saturday around 1pm Josh Ortiz and his helper a apprentice showed up went over everything very knowledgeable polite professional explaining what they could do the price the protection plan like he was the owner exactly what I wanted i agreed they went to work with in a hour the job was completed cleaned so satisfied that is the way the customer is to be treated. Thanks so much to Josh and his help for the royal treatment and to Horizon co. Thanks so much again for the exceptional care you provide to your customer. Thanks to Josh Ortiz and his apprentice very well represented keep up your great work it is very hard to find these days. THANK YOU. TIM FARMER
I recently hired Eric Garrison for some plumbing issues in my home, and I can’t recommend him highly enough! From the moment he arrived, Eric was professional, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring I understood what was going on with my plumbing. What impressed me the most was his commitment to going above and beyond. He not only resolved my issues quickly but also offered valuable tips on maintaining my plumbing system. It’s refreshing to meet a tradesperson who genuinely cares about their clients and provides excellent service. If you’re in need of a reliable and skilled plumber, look no further than Eric. Thank you, Eric, for your outstanding work!
If I could give 0 stars I would! Which I thought I had found a good company to work on fixing our AC, I was wrong! They came out said we were dried up on refrigerant and that it’s something they can’t get and recommended for us to get a whole new unit! Called another company, he explained before I even told him what unit we had that was a lie it’s not hard to get ahold of and he said he’d be out the next day to service us. Gotta love companies trying to make more $ off people and take advantage of people. Absolutely sickening to me.
Very nice place to get service done. So far all techs we have had for various jobs were excellent. We just had our yearly service of cleaning and filter change on our heating system. We got Randy and he did an excellent job. Everything was explained to us for future reference or problems we run into down the line. We are considering signing up for the yearly maintenance plan. If you want a good job done, complete and through, ask for Randy. Very polite, knowledgeable and years experience.
We purchased a home with a complicated water filtration system and a....uniquely designed well. Chris H has tackled every quirk this system has thrown at us with displays obvious senior level knowledge and professionalism. He expertly navigates every issue and performs a thorough diagnostic rather than throwing his hands up and is not intimidated by our challenging system that lesser technicians would simply defer to replacing the whole system.
