Jerry and Brayen were great - explained the issues clearly and compared short term vs long term options for the pipes in our home. It is also very convenient that you can book online and we were able to book an appointment for the very next morning. Will definitely use them again
Mr Arturo Lopez was fantastic. He arrived on time with pre-arrival notification and tracking available. Arturo was knowledgeable, neat and efficient. He took the time to show me the repair and explain why it was needed. This was a two step process with technician Denis Orellana first diagnosing the issues and providing a quote. Once I accepted the quote and scheduled the service, Arturo Lopez arrived to make the necessary repairs. 100% trustworthy service by a two really nice guys. Thank you Denis, Arturo, and Handy Plumbing Man!
I needed the gas line for my old dryer moved to accommodate a new electric dryer. I called to schedule on Thursday and Jany came to do an estimate of the project the following Monday. He was able to complete the job during the same visit. He was kind and professional, and put booties on without me asking. He clearly explained what needed to be done and the job was completed within 30 minutes. I highly recommend Handy Plumbing Man, LLC! A few years ago, they were able to do a same day fix when I discovered that the disposal I was so proud of installing myself was leaking... 🤦🏼♀️
They charge way too much for replacing our garbage processor of our kitchen sink. The garbage processor price is around $170, but they tried to charge us $800 in total. We ended up finding another place which charges $200 + price of garbage processor ($370 in total) less than half of the cost of this place.
Asked for a quote to replace water heater. They came over to check the site, very pleasant, professional person, quick and easy to work with. 2 days later the quote comes in. Extremely confusing, does not break down any of the line items included and comes in VERY high. I requested a breakdown - no response. No follow up from the company in any shape or form, just a very unstructured lump sum quote thrown in to email and total silence after that. Several days and emails later, no response. Very surprised of the good reviews here. In our experience this company is a waste of time and you should look for someone who actually wants the business. Not sure if this is the standard level of service in the industry, this is the 2nd company we are experiencing this with.
I'm a repeat customer of Handy Plumbing Man, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Last year, I hired them to fix a backed-up kitchen sink. It turned out to be a pretty extensive job because the previous homeowner had the plumbing installed incorrectly, with the wrong pipe angles. The team not only handled opening up the drywall and completing the necessary work, but they also proactively snaked the pipes to prevent further issues. The workers were incredibly detailed, polite, and went above and beyond to keep my home clean throughout the process. Because of that very positive experience, I called Handy Plumbing Man again this year when I had another backup issue. They had already warned me that my pipes were very old and might need replacing soon, so I wasn't surprised. When they inspected everything, they confirmed that the pipes were heavily corroded and recommended replacing all of them. I agreed--and the price was very reasonable. Mo Salmeron, the manager who helped me this time, was fantastic. He and his crew were professional, respectful, and efficient. They had to access both my house and the crawlspace, but they made a clear effort to minimize any mess--laying down protection, avoiding tracking dirt, and cleaning up as they went. The full job took about a day, and I was very happy with the quality of the work. There was one hiccup: a drainage issue from the crawlspace to the street. Initially, there was some confusion about whether that work was part of the original contract. However, I was impressed by Handy Plumbing Man's commitment to doing right by the customer. We were able to resolve it quickly, and the additional work was completed to the same high standard. What really stood out to me was the crew's thoroughness. Plumbing is one of those things you can't see easily, so it means a lot when professionals take the time to double- and triple-check everything. Mo and his team inspected everything carefully and didn't leave until it was all perfect. Now, I feel confident that the plumbing under my house is set for decades. I also had the chance to speak with the owner, who came across as a stand-up guy who truly values customer satisfaction. I'll definitely be coming back for any future plumbing needs, and a big part of that is thanks to my amazing experience with Mo Salmeron and his crew. Thank you so much!
Excellent Work & Service and Follow-through for a very complex sewer rebuilt project! We built an ADU on our property. During the Final Inspection the Town asked us to inspect the sewer line connected to the Sewer/Sanitary District main. We hired Handy Plumbing Man to do a CCTV inspection of our sewer line. The results were a total surprise -- the underground sewer pipe (later revealed to be about 400+ linear feet long before connecting to the main sewer line) was broken in many places, crushed by redwood roots in a few areas, roots blocking the drainage etc. The Sanitary District asked for a complete rebuild of the sewer. 1/3 of the sewer was in our property, but 2/3 was in Neighbors' properties. It means we have to dig the neighbors' beautiful yards and gardens to do the rebuild. Very complex work. Handy Plumbing Man's Jerry Barajas took on the challenge, worked with the Sanitory District, myself and the neighbors to propose a combination of trenchless (200') and one open trench section (about 15') rebuilding of the sewer pipes to minimize the disturbances and disruptions. They put in a very reasonably priced proposal (considering the complexity of the work), completed the heavy work in about 1 week, and took another 2+ weeks to help restore the neighbor's yard to the original conditions. We got our final permit as well as the approval from the Sewer District, and the neighbor was impressed with the work (From one neighbor: Everything was taken care of well. In the final walkthrough, Jerry even caught something that his team forgot which I didn't realize they forgot... They run an honest shop!). It is a great piece of professional work, with amazing results and timely communications & follow-through from start to end of the project. The company's work and Jerry's leadership earn our highest recommendation! (photos attached showed the open trench section and the restoration results after Handy Plumbing Man completed the work, in Neighbor's yard.)
Work* completed within 30 minutes. Arrived within minutes of the start of the promised arrival window. Good communication: answered all my questions clearly and courteously. They sent two plumbers, one of whom performed the consultation and the work itself and spoke English better than my intermediate Spanish, and the other of whom was 100% fluent in English and answered the more detailed questions, communicating fluently with his coworker in Spanish for the factual questions and in arriving at the estimate. I especially appreciated the prompt and detailed itemized estimates and the automated text message service with a tracking link when they were on their way. Of the three companies giving on-site consultations, all three gave me estimates electronically. but only Handy Plumbing Man and a higher-priced competitor provided an instant and detailed estimate, while the third competitor sent one later that day that was less clearly spelled out and had been the least successful in communicating verbally about my options. Also good responsiveness on Yelp from the office. Overall, the easiest communication of the four Yelp contacted for me. * The work was a wax ring replacement, which always involves disconnecting the toilet and moving it aside. They offered an additional service of checking the sewer line with a camera on a snake. They didn't pressure me but I decided to get it done while the opening was accessible. They did find that the camera was not immediately available after all, but they scheduled an appointment the day after the consultation. I got a pretty good explanation in English of the condition of the pipe and were it ran to as it was happening, and then his coworker gave me a more detailed debrief on the inspection and maintenance advice. He'd also been the one to discuss my options during the consultation, including the pros and cons of waxless seals.
RE: Sewage Main Replacement I recommend Handy Plumbing and Jerry (if you're lucky enough to get him) I hired Handy Plumbing because I liked how Jerry took the time to thoroughly explain my options and even came out a second time to confirm / get additional measurements. And even better -- there's no bait and switch. Jerry wasn't just a sales guy who passed me off to his implementation team -- Jerry acted as my primary point of contact and personally did his best to ensure the whole process went smoothly start to finish. That's not to say we didn't have a few complications -- but I really appreciated how responsive Jerry was and that he went above and beyond. If this is your first sewage main replacement, here's a few things I wish I knew: (1) I did trenchless which was the right option for me -- and it's fascinating watching the team do the install, but trench is generally the ultimate if you can afford the expense and disruption. (2) There can be gas or other lines in the way -- Handy did a great job mitigating the risk of damaging my city's gas line. (3) Connecting to the city main is complicated. There are regulations and other entities involved and there were a few annoyances related to this, but Jerry + Handy did their best to navigate this. Every city will be different, but I do recommend being physically present when work in the middle of the street is being done. Best of luck with your plumbing project! Highly recommend going with Handy!

Picked this place bc of their 5 star reviews. Never again. They sent a plumber named Damien Gomez to check out a toilet issue I had. He arrived on time but had really poor communication skills. He explained what was happening extremely poorly, and had a non-caring attitude. It was honestly pretty annoying. We had a sewer smell in the bathroom likely coming from a wax ring that was old or loose. He claimed he could not remove the toilet to look bc it appeared the bolt was corroded. He said if he took it off to look and it was corroded, there was no way he could put the toilet back on. The solution then would be to jackhammer around my toilet to bring up the flange for 3 days at a quote of $2500. There was no way to know for sure though unless he unscrewed the toilet which possibly could not be put back on if there was corrosion on the bolt. Got a second person to come out (All Pro Plumbing) and the guy totally did what Damien said he could not do. He removed the toilet, saw corrosive bolts and gave me new bolts, fixed the wax ring and put the toilet back in in 30 min and $249. What the heck?? Do not trust Damien's terrible advice, felt he was trying to push me into a bigger job when it could be solved more easily at less cost. They have many plumbers working for them trying to con you into bigger projects. Not cool. Don't use them.
I always say, while having a good initial experience is nice, have great FOLLOWUP is even better! This is how you tell if a company will stand behind their work - for things done on your house, I think that is CRITICAL. A few days ago I noticed that on one of our faucets, if I closed the hot water side too fast there was a little bit of a rattle under the house. I thought I could handle it myself after asking Perplexity what it could be and installed a water arrestor. That didn't help so I thought, maybe it could be the strapping. I reached out to Handy Plumbing Man on a Saturday and they were quick to respond that they could have someone there on Monday. Monday morning came and their technician, Miguel, went down and found that one of the pipes they had worked on wasn't totally secured. No problem, mistakes happen. He said he'd call the office to get technicians over to check the strapping on the work below. I had to go into work but did get a message from them later on that day to see if they could get someone over the same day (Monday) to fix it. This is more on me that I had already gone into work, but they said they could do tomorrow morning at 8am. The guys, Carlos and Baltazar, came bright and early, went under the house and secured the pipe and then some. Awesome company!
12/5/25 - Handy Man Plumbing helped me identify a clog in my sewer line with a thorough inspection. They gave me a competitive quote for installing a house clean out and cleaning the sewer line. The installation was done quickly and avoided messing up the yard. Highly recommended. 12/16/25 - Update. I decided to have Handy Man Plumbing replace my very old sewer lines under my house. Their quote was the most competitive. They kept our place clean during their work, sealing off our rooms from dust and covering the floors. They were very thorough, replacing all old GI pipes and even some old ABS pipes. While the scope of work was for "horizontal" pipe replacement, they did their best to replace as many "vertical" pipes that they could without opening any drywall (shower drains, toilet flanges). They also helped me repair some bad water supply pipes the noticed while doing their work. They didn't try to upsell me on trying to replace all my water supply lines, and with these repairs, said it should be good for a while. In all of this, they did not charge any additional fees for the extra work they did (i.e. needing to dig under two foundation walls, doing extra repairs, or needing an extra day of work). Highly recommended.
Two representatives (plumbers) promptly showed up. They first called to ask if they could arrive earlier than the original scheduled window of time (originally we were scheduled from noon to 2 PM PST, they arrived at 11:50 AM PST). Demonstrating to us their communication and efficiency were of a high standard. On arrival they introduced themselves in person along with texting and emailing their ID's - Jose Gomez and Ismael Mijangos. Both were very friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable with their discipline/specialty (i.e., plumbing). They assessed our plumbing issue, explained clearly the cause of our issue, offered a fair quote/estimate, and offered a discount (after discussing pricing and warranties). They had all the necessary parts on site and efficiently completed the repair (and even went above and beyond to perform a little extra detail work in another area that was not part of the original quote, which we appreciated). They left everything looking clean and new, too, which is another thing we appreciated. After our experience with Jose and Ismael, we highly recommend them and their company Handy Plumbing Man. Ask for Jose and Ismael!
I would NOT recommend Handy Plumbing Man. Requested a quote for 2 projects: 1) main shutoff replacement, and 2) removing a stuck p-trap Pros: Prompt response and scheduling Cons: 1. For the first project, the technician tried to increase the scope and gave an estimate that included items that I didn't really need, like replacing the PRV, adding an equipment above the water heater, reconfig the pipe, etc. Of course it was way above our budget. 2. The warranty only covers 60 days with all sorts of restrictions. 3. The p-trap removal estimate went ridiculous. The technician didn't even bother to come upstairs to take a look though I asked twice. Just by looking at the pictures, he gave a $350 estimate and said it could go as high as $1800 if it ends up needing to cut out the drywall. This is insane. In contrast, the other company that I eventually used gave a much more reasonable quote, had a warranty for 365 days, got the job done meticulously on the same day. And their technician simply twisted the p-trap off during the estimate and didn't charge even a dime. Also tweaked the PRV without me even asking.
