Matt solved the issue in just a few minutes. He was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Haley Mechanical provided great service at a fair price with no pressure or upselling. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.
Mark G txted and called to let me know he was 20 minutes out. He arrived during the first hour of the window of time in which I was told to expect him. From the start he was friendly, gracious, patient and kind with my dogs, and very thorough. He spent about 2 hours going over the AC unit, both the interior and exterior portions. He also did some peripheral inspection of the furnace and water heater. He did both a visual inspection of all of the parts, as well as a lot of diagnostic testing of the electrical components and analysis of air in the intake and outflow pipes. I know this because he was kind enough to let me tag along and watch what he was up to. Along the way he explained everything, gave me maintenance tips, and offered advice about how long certain things should last and what I might consider doing, and what might not be worth the expense given the age of the system. I appreciated him explaining things to me because this is the first home with central air that I have owned, and in the months since we bought the house I had realized how ignorant of the system’s working I am. Also, because we bought the home in the winter, it wasn’t possible for the home inspector to properly evaluate the AC, because it was too cold to switch it on. For what struck me as a very reasonable fee of $150, Mark not only evaluated and cleaned the AC system, and to some extent the furnace, he also educated me on how this portion of my house operates. Within a couple of hours after our meeting he sent an email with attached docs letting me know the pricing of various replacement options if I decide to go that route. I have a lot more peace of mind now, and for that I am grateful. Many thanks to Mark, and to Haley for making the scheduling easy!
Colin did exceptional work and we are very pleased with the pendent lighting installation in the kitchen. He was thorough and did a good cleanup job after the work. Colin also provided a quick quote for additional work we needed done which allowed us to go ahead and order parts. We got the extra light we ordered in and immediately called Haley to schedule Colin for the install. That was done promptly Colin came and within 45 minutes we had the new hall light installed. Excellent and timely work . Thank you!
I wanted to add a generator cut-over switch for my natural-gas-fueled heating system so that we could still get heat during power outages by powering the furnace system from a battery backup or a generator. On Dec. 17, 2025 Haley Mechanical sent out a technician, Dustin, to look at what I wanted to do. He understood immediately what I wanted, and he was in and out in under 10 minutes. A few hours later I got the quote for the work. It was a little higher than I had hoped, but I decided to accept the quote, because I was confident that the work would be done correctly. Because of the holidays, it took a little while to get the work scheduled, but finally on Jan. 15, 2026, another technician named Kaydin came out to install the switch. Again, he knew exactly what to do, and installed the new hardware without difficulty. The whole operation took about two hours. Kaydin also helped me test the cut-over switch, which we did by turning off the furnace power, connecting an extension cord between my Jackery battery backup system and the cut-over switch. When we flipped the switch from "LINE" to "GEN", the furnace immediately turned on, fired up the boiler, and within a few minutes the system was successfully pumping hot water to all of the radiators in the house. The Jackery indicated that the power draw was between 60 and 70 watts, so I figure that the Jackery could power the furnace for roughly 14 hours, even without re-charging it with the solar panels. So, I was completely satisfied that this cut-over switch gave me the heat security that I wanted. I have attached a picture of the switch and how it is connected to my furnace's power. I especially appreciated how Kaydin handled the bitterly cold weather that we had that day. I had asked him to bring his equipment in and out through the garage, but to also make sure to close the garage door whenever he was done moving things to prevent heat loss through an open garage. I heard him open and then close the door multiple times, and so our home stayed nice and warm despite the frigid weather.
I'd like to say thank-you to KJ from Haley's Mechanical,who installed a new hot water heater for me, on a Sunday! KJ was helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I am happy with the work, with KJ's offer to work around my schedule, and with the promptness in getting hot water back in my life. I would call Haley's again if needed.
