We used H. Jack's for a recent water heater replacement. Michael and Richard did an incredible job. They were thoughtful, knowledgeable, and quick. They answered all of our questions and explained everything that we needed to know. These guys were top notch professionals. I will definitely use this service again. Thank you!
Ezekiel and Lucas performed excellent work. Very pleased with the replacement and repair of the soil stack. Very knowledgeable of what needed to done. They arrived promptly and answered all of our questions. They were polite and courteous. Prep work and clean up was great. Ezekiel was cordial with an honest attitude. We highly recommend Jack's Plumbing.
Had called to have a small water line leak checked out. Thank goodness to Richard thoroughness, he discovered we also had has leak. He did all the needed repairs and even stayed until the gas company came to do what they needed to do on their part for the repair. Very thorough on his cleanup and very thorough on explaining what he did and what our future needs would be.
I have use H Jack's Plumbing twice. They have made a mistake on the job, twice. First, I had to have a new garbage disposal installed. The installation was fine, both workers were very polite and the job was quick. However, the next day my dishwasher was not draining at all (on Thanksgiving!!!!) because they had not hooked it up to the garbage disposal correctly. They came back out the next day and fixed it for free, so all was forgiven. Then, I had to have a new water valve installed on my washer hookup. The cost was insane for a water valve, and then on top of that, when the washer was delivered, I discovered that no matter how far you turned the valve either way, the water would not shut off! I am extremely frustrated that I spent so much money and the job was not done correctly. Now I have to pay another plumber to come out and fix the valve! In the meantime, I can't shut off the hook up to my washer unless I want to turn the main valve off for my house.
12/28/2024. My furnace quit heating. I found the ignitor broke, so I Called H Jack's on Saturday to replace my furnace ignitor. No transparency, I was never informed of an estimate. Instead two technicians arrived, I gave them the broken ignitor and they pulled a new one from their truck. 10 minutes later it was installed then I was given their invoice. $453.00 to install a $35 dollar part. I will never use them again, a rip-off! Beware.
**Update: Since this posting, I was contacted by the administrative offices of H Jack's with a renewed willingness to come to an agreement. The front office worked with me to resolve the incident and did reimburse the out of pocket cost I absorbed in November when I replaced the damaged flooring in a satisfactory way. My experience with H Jacks has been a disaster. One evening my husband and I noticed the drain in our kitchen sink backing up. Known locally for their service, we called H Jacks. The plumber they sent was over within the hour. During the repair, he ran the faucet and the disposal to test the drainage. While he was watching the sink from above, the disposal came apart below and flooded below the sink, along the cabinets and in to the dining room, flowing beneath the floating laminate flooring. As he rushed to his van for towels, I ran to mop up what I could. I stepped on to my dining room floor and water seeped through the seams from underneath. If anyone is familiar with laminate flooring, you know that once water is locked below the floor, it has to be replaced and it is nearly impossible to piece back together board by board. The plumber on the job was apologetic and documented the incident accordingly. It should have ended there but it gets worse. The next day my husband and I called the regional office to address the incident and work towards rectifying the damages. The regional VP made an appointment to come to our home to assess the damages that evening. The regional VP looked at our floor and determined it was not wet underneath, by merely touching the surface, and we were over reacting. He was insistent and defensive. He even went so far as to claim it wasn't that much water and couldn't possibly pose a problem, even though he was not at the scene. His demeanor was not what you would expect from a company that prides itself on customer service. After arguing the facts of the situation in my home for nearly an hour he agreed to send out a team to test the area looking for moisture the next morning. On the third day of this debacle, I met the Water Extraction Team at my home (excellent company). After only 10 minutes in my house with their moisture detecting tools they determined that yes, indeed, there is standing water between my laminate floor and the concrete slab. They recommended they remove the flooring immediately. Tired by H Jacks, they put a call in the them to await next steps. Even after reporting their findings to H Jacks, the plumbing company refused to accept responsibility and sent the WET team away. The regional VP then called my husband and offered him an ultimatum. We could either allow H Jacks to come back in to my home and remove only affected boards and replace them (again, a nearly impossible feat to match a 10 year old laminate floor) or we could purchase all new flooring materials and they would pay for labor. We refused to be bullied in to taking financial responsibility for what should have been a reputable company's mistake and immediately made an insurance claim. We called ServiceMaster Disaster Recon (excellent company) and they were at my house with my insurance adjuster within the hour to assess the damages and remove my flooring. It took two full days for the concrete and affected drywall to dry with industrial fans and a humidifier provided by ServiceMaster Disaster Recon. Even after two professional water removal companies and the insurance adjuster's documentation of the damage, the regional VP has refused to take responsible. My homeowners insurance company continues to pursue them for the damages, but have been stonewalled with claims that they are not responsible. The regional VP remains uncooperative and rude, refusing to work to rectify their mistake. He continues to claim that his plumber could not have possibly spilled enough water to warrant that amount of clean up, even though he was not present at the time of the damage and the plumber who was present had his back to them problem. Neither of them can speak to the amount of water that flowed under my floor that day with any accuracy. It has been nearly three months of awaiting the financial recovery for an unexpected floor replacement that we had no intention of doing, nor did we need, before they set foot in my home. This company is unwilling to accept accountability for their mistakes and refuses to approach this incident with the integrity that the consumer deserves. We are innocent victims of extraordinarily poor business practices. The regional VP of this company should be ashamed. I warn anyone who is need of plumbing services to stay clear of H Jacks and I will continue to pursue the recovery of the expense of the botched service call, the clean up and the replacement of what was a perfectly good floor.
I had an exterior water line leak outside under my porch. I have a plan through homeserve so I called them and they contacted HJacks to respond to the leak. When they got there they determined they would reroute the line around my porch to avoid tearing my porch apart but said it would be more expensive. I told them I needed an estimate to turn into my homeowners insurance since I had an underground utility coverage policy through them also in case the homeserve plan didn't cover the full amount. Once I told them that they wanted the name and policy number for my homeowners. I wasn't sure why but I gave it to them. One of the guys came back and knocked on ny door and told me I didn't provide a phone number for them. I told them I didn't think they needed a contact number. All I needed was an estimate so I could turn it in if the balance was more than the homeserve would cover. If it was I would turn in the estimate and deal with my homeowners insurance myself. They didn't seem to like that but agreed and went back to their van to write an estimate. Homeserve then called and told me they had talked to HJacks and I was covered through them for $3500 but there would be some out of pocket expense on my end. I told them my homeowners should pick up the balance that was left. About that time the guy called me to the van to talk to me so I hung up with homeserve and told them I would contact them when we decided to move forward. The service guy told me he needed a signature on the estimate. The total estimate came to $7500! It was wrote out what they would do and that homeserve approved $3500 leaving me responsible for a balance of $4000. I talked to my wife and we both thought that seemed high so we decided to get a 2nd estimate. I got ahold of another plumbing contractor and they came the next day. They said the would do the exact same thing and reroute my water line around my porch. Thier estimate came back at $1347 for the exact same job. They came in at over $6000 less for the same work. I called homeserve and told them this and they agreed to pay the contractor that gave me the 2nd estimate. I feel like HJacks saw an opportunity to suck a bunch of money out of two different insurance policies and gave me an astronomically high price. How else could they come up with an extra $6000 compared to the other contractor? I can see a little discrepancy between the two but this was just plain shady as far as im concerned. I would be very hesitant before I would let them do any work and would suggest anyone else considering them to make sure you get a 2nd contractor to give you an estimate before moving forward with them.
Had a problem with my toilet leaking water and dripping from the back and appeared to be coming from underneath the toilet tank. First guy from H Jacks comes out around 2 p,m. Tightens a few things and charged me an $89 service call. All appears to be ok. Now it's an hour later and there is water all over the floor in front of the toilet. Second call to Jacks and now someone else will be out. At a little after 4 two repair men appear. It's the wax ring and a few other things that need replaced along with a new supply line, which they did't have on the van and needed to go to Lowes to pick up. Let's back up here for a moment, the first guy wrote on the receipt that the supply line was leaking. Why didn't he do something other than tighten it? So now it's after 5 and the 2nd guy tells me that it's considered overtime at around $205 an hour. But because the first guy didn't fix it properly, he wouldn't charge me o.t. The total cost of repairs not including the suppy line came to $441 (bolts, gaskets and the cost of pulling the toilet to replace the wax ring). Now I also get charged $258 for the supply line and that's because they didn't have one on the van and had to go to Lowes. None of this is my fault. Had the first guy done his job I would't have needed the second team. I asked that the $89 charge from the first call be taken off. He said it was. Then why charge me $699!!! I'm an older lady on a fixed income and can't really afford this. I've worked in the apartment business 28 years and told some of my co-workers. Their response- "boy, did you get ripped off". Indeed I did. Let me just add one more thing. I'd agree to paying the $441 for the replacement items but not the $258 for the supply line that should have been fixed by the first guy and for the simple fact that they didn't have the item available and used my time to go get it. Again, not my fault. Probably won't hear from anyone. Let's see if they practice good customer service. OK, problem resolved. Thank you Ben. Customer is happy.
I had called HJacks to snake the drain in the kitchen and bathroom of my rental property. I had them replace my furnace at my primary residence a year prior so I thought they would be reasonable and trustworthy. The job is very simple. I have snaked the drains before and could have done the job myself but called them due to having other more time sensitive matters. They charged 495 and I agreed as it would save some time. Then they called and tried to tell me they need to jackhammer the foundation and replace the pipe under ground because water from the kitchen drain was coming up from the foundation. They said the job is 4400$ and completely necessary. This was a complete lie, as there was a corroded valve above the wet spot in the basement, it was dripping onto the floor and not coming up from under the foundation. Replacing the valve is a 20$ fix. I told them to proceed without replacing the pipe and just to snake it. In the end the kitchen pipe was fine just as I had thought. Then when snaking the bathroom drain which they claimed would be an easy job, they somehow broke the pipe in the wall with the snake. Now the drain is leaking into the wall though the subfloor and into the floor joists. They said they would fix THEIR mistake for 2600$. This happened after refusing to pay the 4400$ scam from earlier. In the end, instead of solving the problem I had, they tried to create problems to solve. They caused damage to my house and have not tried to solve the problem. They turned and easy job into a big expense. If I knew they would have broke the drain in the wall I would have just done the job myself. Here I am 495$ later with a bigger problem to solve that they caused. I strongly do not recommend HJacks
What a bunch of predatory assholes. They hide behind the guise of "expertise" when they're really just trying to scare you into replacing everything. I had a flammable vapor sensor go off on my hot water heater; I assumed it was because I was staining wood in my basement (bad idea in hindsight). The guy completely disregards the fact that the sensor is all that needs to be replaced, and instead pulls out the burner assembly, saying the guy who installed it bent and mangled it and it was unusable. At $800 a burner assembly, I'm sure he would have liked to replace it. Says it's not safe to reinstall it and refuses to replace the sensor. Best part, he says there should be CO2 leaks, carbon dioxide... the idiot doesn't even know the difference between carbon monoxide and dioxide! But wait, it gets better. Because somehow the burner assembly is on back order for 3 weeks, he tells me I'm best off replacing my 6 year old water heater entirely. What a coincidence. Plumber comes out today with 30 years experience, replaces the sensor and voila. Says the assembly is absolutely fine and functioning properly with no leaks. True scumbag move to fear monger your way into business. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
NEVER AGAIN. Had to fix a frozen valve for my washing machine. HJacks was very responsive and sent their man to assess the work needed. Nate, thier tech looked at the issue and recommended that they cut through the drywall in order to reach the pipes, to cut and replace the valves. Based on his description of the work involved, I agreed to the hefty $685 quote. He kept saying that they have to cut through the drywall and then fix it. Only, later did I find out (after they completed the pipe work) that the quote did not include repairing the drywall. There was a * disclaimer at the bottom of the quote that "quote to repair drywall will be provided after the work". That is not the way, the job was explained by their tech. and it was my mistake to have not read all parts of the quote. When asked, he claims that he told me about it but I am sure that is not the way it was explained. I will admit, they did a very nice job of fixing the pipe in 1 hour. However, I was CHEATED, in my opinion, because I not only paid $685 for a 1 hour job but now I have to shell out more money to fix the drywall. Well HJacks, thank you for teaching me a lesson in trust but No thanks.NEVER AGAIN.
I called H Jack's to have someone come out to diagnose a gas leak in my fireplace. I had bought a new part, installed it myself, but could never figure out why I smelled gas when the unit was turned off. They came out promptly, with mask & protective gear. The technician opened the bottom panel, briefly looked at it, then asked to go down in the basement. Once there, he determined that my ENTIRE gas plumbing would all have to be replaced. I only have 3 gas appliances, yet he write his quote to include an extra run to my laundry room "just in case" I ever decided to install a gas dryer. Very nice of him to spend MY money. He never even turned on the fireplace to determine where the leak was. Instead, he handed me a quote for $2,400 to redo everything that has been working great for years. Then he acted surprised that I didn't give him the go ahead to do it. I am a single woman, and he must have thought I would believe anything he said. WRONG. This company deserves negative stars. Shame on you.
I had gotten a magnet in the mail, so I called them when our toilet was backed up. I should've known right off the bat when the guy was rude on the phone was that I was in for a bad experience. But I needed a plumber ASAP and I really didn't know who else to call. The tech who came out was nice but they're pricing model is designed to rip people off. They charged $500 for snake and that didn't do the job. Then they wanted another $300 to run a camera and then another $900 to run the Jetter. $1,700 to fix the clog!!!!! I declined the camera and the Jetter and decided to call family and friends for recommendations. Thankfully, a friend pointed me in the right direction and recommend somebody great. They charged me $600 for a camera, the Jetter and the snake all included!!! and they were able to fix the clog. My advice is if you could call around and get quotes do that because Jack's is going to over charge you every which way.
We have a drainage system in our back yard that was not working as it should. 1 year prior to calling H Jack's we had another company come out to clean out all the drain lines. By the end of that summer it was still not working correctly. I took a chance and called H Jack's. With in 2 days the crew showed up and cleaned out 3 of the 4 lines. The 4th had a major problem that required replacing part of the line. The 2 people that were at my home explained it all to my wife. I called and set appointment for the work to be done. A few days later a crew showed up and dug by hand the area that needed replacement. Within a short time the bad drain line was replaced and the new piece was installed. The results were a system that was working properly, no big mess in the center of the yard. I could not be happier with the job that was done and the way my yard looked when the work was completed. I had a great experience with H. Jack’s Plumbing & Heating. Nate originally came out for a heating and cooling tune-up and during the inspection he noticed soot in my furnace along with cracks. He was very thorough, professional, and took the time to show and explain everything to me so I could understand exactly what was going on. Thanks to Nate catching the issue early, I was able to get scheduled for a same-day furnace replacement. Kevin and Patrick came out for the installation and did an excellent job. They were professional, efficient, respectful of my home, and worked hard to get everything completed. In less than 6 hours, I had a brand new Thermostat, furnace installed, and running properly. I truly appreciate the honesty, professionalism, and quick response from the entire team. I would definitely recommend H. Jack’s Plumbing & Heating to anyone needing HVAC service or furnace replacement.
