These guys did a great job on my leaky Grohe faucet. Diagnosed the problem without a separate estimate visit just from my description, got the part in one day, and did the repair same day. Nice, courteous, professional staff.

Joel did a great job today in diagnosing and fixing our issues with a leak in the bathtub valve. He even waited for over half an hour while we were stuck in traffic on the Bay bridge. I appreciate his patience, honesty, and expertise. Will work with him again.

On June 24, 2023, I found water leaking from ceiling. I called them. After they fixed the water leak and left and charged me $450. But they left a big hole in the ceiling and left. And said they weren't responsible for patching the hole. Such an irresponsible company, I suggest that you do not ask them to help you!

I can’t possibly say enough good about this family owned business. A bit of a backstory…a little over a year ago I called a handyman to do a few small jobs around my home. One of them was to fix an upstairs toilet that would not stop running. This handyman took a quick look inside the tank and told me the entire toilet needed to be changed out and he gave me a quote of over $600 to do it. Nice guy, but he didn’t really seem to know a whole lot about any of the repairs I asked him to do so I wanted to get a professional opinion on the issue. I called Golden Coast Plumbing and Rooter and Joel Jr came out immediately. He removed the lid from the tank and explained that the flap on the inside mechanism wasn’t sealing properly. No new part was needed and the repair itself took seconds. I was very impressed and thankful. Fast-forward to just recently and my water heater stopped working. I knew exactly who I was going to contact. It was nighttime, but it wasn’t an emergency so I just text messaged Golden Coast instead of calling. Very early the next morning, I got a phone call from Joel Jr. and he apologized profusely for not seeing my message the night before. (I didn’t expect him to). He told me he would be over between nine and 10 o’clock that same morning. I wasn’t expecting a response that fast. At about 9 o’clock, he text messaged me to say that he was 25 minutes away and would be there soon. When he got here, he put on shoe covers to respect our home and he confirmed what I already knew, that the unit would have to be replaced. Unfortunately, this was going to be no ordinary or fast water heater replacement. The water heater, along with the air conditioner and furnace are in a small closet in our kitchen. The garage is directly behind this closet. Several years ago when I had my air conditioner/furnace replaced, I was told, “I hope you don’t have to have your water heater replaced anytime soon because it’s going to be almost impossible to get it out of this tight area.” Now here we are… Because the closet is so narrow there was no way Joel Jr was going to be able to get the water heater out the front. So, his dad came by and they cut a perfectly rectangle hole in the wall of the garage and took it out the back of the closet. The hole was just big enough to wiggle the old water heater out and the new one in. They replaced the piece of the wall that had been removed and once we tape it, you won’t even know the wall had been cut! Joel Jr went above and beyond what I expected. The response was immediate because he said we needed to have hot water ASAP. He moved gym equipment away from the wall in the garage so the work could be done, and he cleaned up all the dust and debris. He and his dad are extremely nice and very professional. The price was reasonable and I’m very happy with their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thanks Joel!!

I can't rave enough about Joel's plumbing expertise and outstanding service from Golden Coast Plumbing and Rooter! When my toilet started leaking, my wife and I were in a panic. It smelt terrible! Thankfully, Joel and his uncle came to the rescue, and he's nothing short of a plumbing superhero! From the moment he arrived, Joel exuded professionalism and friendliness. He showed up right on time, ready to tackle the issue. His warm demeanor immediately put me at ease, and I knew I was in capable hands. tl;dr Joel and his team at Golden Coast are an amazing group of humans, and I'm lucky to have found them to help out with our past and future plumbing needs. They're responsive, trustworthy, and most importantly, transparent and informative - they'll make sure you understand exactly what needs to be done, and why. Additionally, they do high quality work and somehow still manage to keep prices very reasonable. --- Full review: As someone who is extremely detailed-oriented and is a first-time homeowner, I was worried about finding the right person to help us with our first plumbing leak. At 11pm on a Sunday, I rang Golden Coast, and was greeted by Joel who was able to come with his team on a whim (within the hour of the call) - once they arrived, they worked relentlessly to pinpoint the cause of the leak - in fact, Joel didn't want to leave until they could confidently claim the cause and propose a solution. Since then, we've continued contacting Joel (who is extremely responsive) for our laundry list of plumbing needs we had for our new home - from repairing a poorly installed hose bib, replacing 50-year old faucets in our bathroom, to even repairing our sewer lateral to meet EBMUD regulation (which we passed with flying colors thanks to Golden Coast). Each job was done meticulously, and in every scenario, Joel explained every step of the process transparently and candidly to ensure we know exactly what's going on and where our money is being invested. We have been nothing but extremely happy with their work and fully appreciate Joel's approachability that has made every interaction feel less like a transaction, and more of a conversation. We now have Golden Coast on speed dial, and won't hesitate to reach out whenever a plumbing need arises as we know we'll be in good hands.

Joel and team were exceptional. I can't recommend them highly enough especially in emergency situations. I reached out to Golden Coast Plumbing last night in a panic because the sewer system in my new build home was backing up through the shower in my first floor guest room. Nightmare. We were up until 3am cleaning and bleaching the floors and trying to figure out who to call to help us. Joel responded to my message right away (couldn't believe he messaged me back at 1:30am) and was out with his crew first thing in the morning. He even rearranged his schedule to help us resolve our emergency. Truly went above and beyond. Joel and the team quickly unclogged the sewer line and provided a thorough explanation of the issue and provided me with helpful information to take back to my HOA. Joel and his two technicians were timely, friendly, helpful and efficient. Joel was patient with me as I asked several follow up questions to make sure I knew what steps I needed to take after they left. Lastly, the cost of the service was lower than I had anticipated. I had a few jobs around the house I needed to finish, and I called a handyman. Big mistake. One of the jobs was a toilet upstairs that was continuously running. The handyman came out, changed a part (not the part that I could see wasn't working right), and ended up telling me that I needed a whole new toilet/install at a cost of over $500. As this is a second floor bathroom, I don't need water damage anywhere, and I wanted to confirm the handyman's assessment, I sent a message to Golden Coast plumbing. Joel returned my text almost immediately and came out the following morning. After about 5 minutes, the problem was diagnosed. The gasket on the bottom of the cylinder in the tank had just become off-center. That's it. After the service charge, Golden Coast Plumbing saved me about $400 from what the handyman was going to charge. I would definitely call Golden Coast again if I needed any plumbing work. The response time was fast, Joel knew exactly what the problem was and although I told him the handyman said I needed a whole new toilet, he was honest and told me the only thing I needed was to have the gasket reset. Problem solved.

We worked with Golden Coast recently on a job we had to improve the plumbing to our main house and to set up plumbing for an in-law unit we will be building. I usually get 3 bids for every project but in this case I got 6 because the first few bids were significantly different (the highest was 300% higher than the lowest). I made sure I gave each the same requirements and materials, Golden Coast came in in the middle to lower end, I thought their bid was fair and they just seemed like they would be good to work with. My husband is handy, and does a lot of the work himself, but this job was too big - he has a high bar and he confirmed they were top notch, after the job he said we will go to them for all of our plumbing needs. Everyone told us the job would take 3-5 Days. GC did it in two. They had to work through some of our landscaping and we were prepared for some impact but it was almost nothing. They were fast, friendly, well priced and did high quality work. I wish all contractors were so good!

Let me start by saying, Joel and his family were incredible. We had some plumbing issues that required someone to come in and snake our pipes. We submitted our project proposal through Yelp and Joel was the first to respond and answered all my questions as I gathered quotes from other companies. He was responsive throughout the entire process. Other companies weren't as transparent with their pricing and those that provided a quote, were significantly higher than expected. Joel provided an incredibly competitive quote, and his team (which are family) were available the next day and I was able to get my plumbing issues resolved within 24 hours. While completing their work, they even noticed a couple of other issues that I should consider getting fixed in the near future. Incredibly satisfied with the work, the communication, the pricing, and the quality of the work. First rate, professional clean installation and timely completion of our project. Joel was fantastic. Patient, professional and did a great job installing a Moen Flo Smart Water Shutoff, a Pressure Reduction Valve and a replacement main house water valve. Service request was prompt and communication was great. Joel was very thorough, and even gave many pros and cons of the smart water shutoff valve during the onsite inspection and quoting. Quote was spot on and a great value as quote and billing was a breeze. No mystery line items, or service fees. Service request was through Yelp projects, as I was also looking for a new plumber, and I'm very pleased with the initial project results.

Joel and his family's expertise and service were incredible! I had a broken shower mixer valve that I spent almost 3 months trying to diagnose, fix and then finally replace and Joel was able to quickly come to a solution as well as work with my condo building which can be difficult as the job required a water shutoff and coordination with HOA. I tried contacting a few other plumbing companies/contractors who all told me this would be a huge job and didn't want to take it on or never responded. But Joel and his family were able to complete the work in a matter of hours and it looks fantastic. He was easy to communicate with and flexible. I would 100% work with them again.

I wish they had more glowing 5 star reviews! We had a small leak, called Joel and he came out to fix it in no time. Really appreciate how attentive and thorough he was to diagnose the issue by starting out small with a camera to find the leak instead of doing the easiest thing by cutting the drywall right away. Even so, he took great care in cutting as little as needed which definitely took more effort, and vacuuming it as they cut so as to reduce the debris. He also took great effort to explain and show us the leak, what caused it and how he plans to address it. Everything was fixed in no time at all. They responded quickly to my initial inquiries about the work I needed done, and offered to come out the very next day for an estimate.
