AMAZING service!!!! They responded quickly, showed up when they said they were going to show up. Fixed our furnace even did little upgrades to it. And the price was fair. Very very satisfied with this company I highly recommend them.
Blower on our furnace went out on what's to be the coldest week of the winter. Our tech professional Steve Healy arrived promptly and had our heat up an running in no time. Even got rid of a dead bird he found in there. Highly recommend Garabedian. Darren L. Worcester, MA
These guys arrived when they said they would. I had Eric who replaced my water heater. He was friendly, and efficient. He did a great job. It was a reasonable cost. I would recommend Garabedian's to anyone.
Not the way to run a business. Did not want to service me because my job wasn’t big enough for them to come by .
Will not be my first choice anymore, They like to assume, you know what happens when you do this, make an as* out of yourself.
Do not use Garabedian. ZERO STARS! They are not thorough and Cindy is THE RUDEST person at this company. I don't know if she's the owners family member but you need to get her out of your office. She constantly gaslighted me during our phone conversation (yell-fest) and refused to allow me to express my thoughts and stance. She kept speaking over me and twisting my comments to suit her needs. Initially, I'd been a customer for Garabedian for a few years. I always dealt with techs like Zach or Jimmy (both of whom I enjoyed working with). I never had to deal with back office initially. This January 2022 I had a no heat call placed. It's April now and I still have no heat. I had 5 visits from Garabedian techs and they haven't fixed my issues (single family home, forced hot air from oil). Usually at any visit from them, I pay by check for that day's service. First visit in Jan I paid by check. Heat still not working after visit 1. The 2 guys said it's because I need to leave my maintenance door open to circulate air and not choke the system (5 years I've not had to do this but now they say this is reason). 2nd and 3rd visit within a week and still not fixed. After 3rd visit I called to speak to a manager and I got Tim (?). I ask him what is the plan of action for getting my boiler fixed and I said it's been 3 visits and guys aren't really getting the job done and seem at loss. Tim said he'll review my paperwork and call me back. When he finally calls back he has no real answer as to what a plan might look like. He sends guys out again for visits 4 and 5. Now, mind you, I like to pay by check at each visit but after 1st visit the techs tell me they don't know what or if I'll be charged so they couldn't tell me what kind of check to write (fair enough for a tech not to know). Which is why I called manager. He didn't know either what to tell me. After 5 visits I was done with having guys keep coming out replacing parts and sometimes same parts over again WITH NO DISCUSSION OF A PLAN OR HOW TO ADDRESS A DIAGNOSTICS OF MY FURANCE SITUATION. No call from Tim again to talk me through a plan. I did get a $1200 bill from Garabedian though. No call, just the bill. I called Tim and said I had a problem with the bill especially as I was still sitting in February with no heat. I give up with this company. Tim should have been working with me. Yes, I get your company is busy but I am a person without heat but luckily I scraped by using an alternate source of heat through the rest of winter. After no calls from Tim, I get a new invoice with money knocked off the total bill. Good, we're getting somewhere. But there's no explanation as to what was taken off and why. What's the rational for taking money off? Is it because you agreed with me or because you wanted me to go away? I didn't pay it because the statements on the invoice were incorrect. In particular, they said they ran clean oil through my system (through a line; not from my tank) and tested it and the system ran fine. NOT TRUE! I was there with the young man when he went to get that bucket of oil from his vehicle and he suggested to me what he was going to do was run that oil (not new clean oil but collected oil from other customer visits!) through my system. Invoice said clean oil but that's not accurate. If he had run clean oil through and proved my system worked then sure I'll accept that but it wasn't a bucket of clean oil! Now Tim and invoice say its because I have dirty (no good) Peterson Oil and they actually put that on the invoice as to the cause of my broken boiler. Bad peterson Oil. OK. but you waited until the last visit when I said I was tired of you coming out here and not being able to fix my system and NOW it's the last resort of bad oil from Peterson (which I have used off and on for 5 years). Cindy is a whole new ballgame. She gaslighted me when I spoke to her and I was explaining to her why I didn't pay the bill. She said she'd take me off her customer list. Ma'am, I stopped being your customer in February. I tell everyone and anyone my Garabedian experiences in the hope that you won't run into a similar situation as mine.
First off I should state this was partly my fault. I should have gone through my Homeowner's Insurance but I didn't and the abuse I got was on me. But not right. I had a gas hot water heater replaced. When he was taking the 50 gallon old heater out on an unsecured dolly the tank fell down the entire basement stairs causing marks and dings in the wall. I got a repair bill from a professional painter and presented this to the office manager. They stated they had "very strict bookkeeping rules" and would not pay out the repair bill they agreed to unless the work was done. Hence, I should have called my insurance company. I told them I needed the money to pay the painter since I just gave them $1000+ to replace my tank. No, they wouldn't pay out unless the work was done. They even went so far as to call the painter and ask him if I was really going to have the walls repainted/fixed because they wanted to make sure I wasn't going to take the money and go to a casino!!! They actually said that to a man I hired! I was upset that day and didn't catch on when the plumber said to me "I have to go get parts to replace this pressure valve" I thought it was something he didn't have on his truck. Had I looked closely at the bill I would have seen a note talking about the pressure valve with the notation TBD. In other words, I paid them for the new tank but was being charged for the new valve with a price of To Be Determined. Who does business like that? He should have told me there was an additional cost and what it was that day. What if it had been $500? I wouldn't agree to a bill that had TBD at any time. So, my check finally comes through and they didn't pay me for wall and painting repair without first taking out $211. When I called them on that they stated I had a balance and "it's not your money it's ours" I said I never agreed to them doing business that way and then I was challenged on when was I going to pay the bill? The office manager was rude, out of line asking the painter if I was going to spend the money at the casino because it really didn't matter. They did damage the wall and they owed that to me. Again, call homeowners. I felt they had no right to deduct that from what they owed me. It was up to me to repay them for the added part. Basically they were rude and condescending. They didn't feel an obligation to pay for damages if I wasn't going to paint. That was not their determination what I did with the money since they did damage the walls. So, that repair money was mine on condition from them but they had no problem taking from my money on a TBD amount. That guy could have called the office that day found out the cost and told me before he left the house. Proper business procedure. I was not upset with the guy for dropping the tank but I am very upset for their customer service and the way they treated me. I will never do business with them again. Please note the workmen are good, but the company does not care for their customers. Poor customer relations if anything goes wrong with the job.
They charge 150$ an hour and billing starts 15 minutes before they enter your home. They take 3 hours and charge 450 $ to replace 2 faucets a(details below). Its not good for me, its not good time as per google (typical faucet replacement job by a professional is 30 minutes). You can decide if its good for you. First gentleman came in to fix a faucet and suggested replacement. They had estimated an hour to fix 2 faucets. If you check Lowes / google replacement for faucet it takes 30 minutes to an hour. I thought the estimate was fair and called for second appointment to replace faucet. Second Gentleman who came took 3 hours to replace faucet. I was billed 450$ for it. I spoke to the service manager and he said plumber was in the house for 3 hrs so he is going to bill for 3 hours. When i asked him if I should monitor his plumber on what he did for 3 hours to replace 2 faucet, he didnt have an answer and seems to think that 3 hours for 2 faucet is a fair time. Google and ask any plumber on how long it takes for replacing a standard working faucet (its 30 mins to max max 1 hr) im charged 3 times the normal!! He also added that in case there are leaks from the plumbing of faucet, they are not responsible as I purchased the faucet and it would be a separate call. This conversation he added when we were talking about 3 hrs for basic faucet. It was totally out of context and is he saying that warn me there will be leaks (see others reviews below). I was hoping to use them for other work in home but I havent won a lottery yet and I might need multiple wins if they keep up their work at this rate. Time to look for another plumber.
UNWILLING TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE. I called garabedian to install a drain for a washing machine. The technician was very friendly and told me that it was unnecessary and that he could save me money (would have been 150). I told him I was nervous as the previous setup had overflowed and wet my carpets. He assured me he had the same setup at home. He put a zip tie around the pipe and charged me 96 dollars (I understand there are minimums) The very first time I use the machine I come back to find that the hose came loose and my floors are soaked again. I call back to have the issue fixed and woman on the phone sarcastically says "I knew that was coming" when I asked them to perform the job I originally asked for free of charge. (Already paid 96 only to have my carpets soaked again) She says "everyone pays the 96" to which I replied "not everyone has water dumped on their floors though" I asked if I could pay the difference between the 96 I paid and the 150 he quoted to just do the job I originally asked for since I never would have tried the zip tie idea if he hadn't told me it would work. This was denied as well because it was "my choice" to trust that the plumber's advice would not lead to THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM I called them to fix. I guess I should have known that it wouldn't even last one wash. She asked if I needed to sleep on it and I assured her that I would NEVER USE GARABEDIAN AGAIN and I would tell others not to either. She said that's your choice.
Early this a.m. I was in a panic, I was leaving for a camping trip and realized I had no hot water. My Home is 8 years old and I never had to call a plumber, which was suggested by my oil co. I called about 5 companies from ratings on yelp, and quickly had to realize the service men were already scheduled for their day. When I called Garabedian, Judy, 17 yr employee put me on the list and I continued my search. Within 10 minutes she called me back and John Jr. came, assessed we needed a new water heater. He called his office, found we had a 6 yr warranty, got a price from his boss, then left to pick up a new water heater. While waiting for his boss to call with a price, he also told me he has been w/the co. for 5 years, and stated how much he liked working their, that the people really do care about their employees. I personally feel very comfortable, would highly recommend this company knowing this as well. John came shortly after ten am, left at 10:30 and was back before 11:30. He did the entire job efficiently and clean and was done and gone by 1:00 - Now That is superior service!! It may be raining, but I am a happy camper and it was definitely was my lucky day with finding this Co. Thank you everyone, Patty K. - Holden
I've needed several matters dealt with recently, and Garabedian Plumbing has come through with aplomb. Alec has done excellent work on the problems I'd identified, but also gave advice that will save me problems in the future. Specifically, Alec identified a problem with the kitchen sink's mooring into the countertop (while installing a garbage disposal) and assisted me in identifying the proper masonry options I had to prevent the sink from falling. His advice will likely save me the necessity of replacing the entire countertop and sink after an expected accident. Alec's assistant, Sal, installed a jerryrigged temporary support to the kitchen sink so that I can use it while waiting for the masons to have an opening. All of this is above and beyond the call of duty. In addition to their professional expertise, they cleaned up after their work. The guys were affable and that temperament was clearly natural. It was a pleasure having Garabedian solve my plumbing problems now, and - unfortunately for me - I'm looking forward to their replacing my basement toilet that is more of an antique than it is functional. I recommend Garabedian without reservation.
We've used Garabedian on a number of occasions for various small/medium projects (servicing, replacing a direct vent heater), and then sadly this weekend, both our hot water heater and boiler died. Two days after this died, we had heat and hot water again! Yes, it's expensive (but not as bad as I'd initially feared). Yes, you get what you pay for and I will recommend Garabedian to anyone. Rick was terrific this week, and we'd worked with Steve in the past. Rick clearly takes pride in his work and patiently took the time to show how everything worked together and what I needed to do to maintain it. The work area was clean and neat when he left. If you need a plumber, call Garabedian. UPDATE: We continue to use Garabedian for all our plumbing needs. Very recently, Al (Alec?) came to repair a couple of leaky basement pipes, unclog a slow shower, and replace a garbage disposal. In and out in a few hours. He continues the string of outstanding plumbers and outstanding work and I can't thank him enough. Maybe it's a little odd that my shower is no longer ankle-deep with water, but whatever. It's the little things, right?
Our tenant called us Friday pm to let us know the water heater was leaking. Even though it was Friday evening, I began calling around (ABC order) for a plumbing company. By evening’s end, I had received no return calls. On Sat am at 8:30, I called Garabedian Plumbing:: and received a call back by 8:40. RICK gave me an amount, and said he would be at the house soon. I met him at 9:45 and the work began. He also wore an N95 mask, and I and the tenant were most appreciative. RICK and Garabedian Plumbing will get ALL of our business from now on. Thank you!! Review #2: First of all, Garabedian’s is the best plumbing company in central MA! We have had them out to our home in Northborough multiple times, and each time the plumbers come we get a professional, thorough, and swift job done by friendly, competent crews. For example, I woke up to a ceiling leak this morning; I called before 8, explained by issue (active leak), Mike and Sal showed up around 10:30 and they were done by 11:30 - leak fixed! They were friendly and efficient and bonus: they loved my dog! You can’t ask for any better plumbing service! Trust me!
The technician arrived at my home LATE after telling me he was 15 min away tech showed up 2 hours later. upon arrival i had to tell the tech to please put his mask on. (sorry this is a pandemic.. wear a mask!!) to say the least The technician was rude and grungy the rest of the time he was on site. now when the tech was done we went outside and i handed him my card waited about 30 mins got my RECEIPT and went along with my life.. or i thought.. Nowwwwww 4 months later i get a call from Cindy a very rude miserable secretary or receptionist saying i have an overdue bill and proceeds to explain how they have slipped up and Garabidian offices are behind on billing... ( NOW If a company is 4 months behind on billing SOMEONE needs to be fired!! If Mc. Donald's employees can charge appropriately and on time why cant a professional plumbing company...) for the whopping $105 an hour i expect perfection and professionalism and this company has delivered anything but that. this is unfortunate as an owner of 6 properties now i can confidently say i will never be calling them again. ZERO stars DO NOT recommend!!!
I called around 9AM to have a flush valve and a tank to bowl kit replaced on my toilet. They were very prompt to come and do the repair that same day. I usually do minor repairs myself but I could not because of a surgery. I looked up pricing on the parts I wanted replaced and they came to $26 at a wholesaler near me. My wife was unable to see the completed job or she would have asked the fellow to clean up better. I came home to find that the plumber had just left and had been here about an hour. I went to the bathroom to find the toilet running. I lifted the lid to find that all the internal and external tank parts were replaced, some of which I replaced only about a month ago. I called questioned the bill and was told when repairing a tank that they replace all parts including supply line even if working okay. I'm no plumber but it would not have taken me more than an hour to replace the parts needed. $343 is outrageous to replace a flush valve. If you normally put in more parts than requested to do a job, make sure you let the customer know before you do the job. Parts $103 Labor $240
